A very smart modern restaurant located in the heart of Fitzrovia. This was our first visit here, we came for my wife's birthday.Having eaten at Ben Murphy's previous restaurant we knew we had to visit his new restaurant as the food was sublime previously. We booked a table in advance and would highly recommend anyone to do the same. Whilst the menu wasn't huge it definitely had enough choice to cater for anyone's taste. We had starters, three mains (shared one because we so much wanted to try the food) and deserts. Every dish was perfect, couldn't fault any of it. Kind of wished we'd had the milk bread starter because looking at the next table it did look amazing, maybe next time. The service was extremely attentive, helpful and professional. The prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the food. We did speak briefly to Ben and he did say he would like to change the menu, maybe seasonally, so we would love to go again to see what new things he produces. I would highly recommend a visit here.

A truly outstanding dining experience. I recently visited this restaurant and was genuinely blown away from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. The choice of food was impressively vast, offering something for every taste without compromising on quality. The vibe was spot-on — warm, stylish, and inviting — making it the perfect setting for a relaxed meal or a special occasion. The staff were exceptional, balancing friendliness with professionalism, and making us feel genuinely looked after throughout the evening. A special mention has to go to Ben the head chef, whose talent shines through in every plate. The creativity, finesse, and attention to detail were truly next-level, and it’s clear the kitchen is led by someone with real passion and skill. Overall, an unforgettable experience. I can’t recommend this place highly enough — already looking forward to my next visit!

As always, Ben never fails to deliver! I couldn’t wait to visit his beautiful new restaurant after his Launceston departure, and it was once again hands-down the best meal I’ve had in ages. The space is incredibly warm and inviting, the ambience is spot-on, and the food… absolutely outstanding. I’ll definitely be back soon – this time for dinner! P.S. For anyone who hasn’t had the pleasure yet: there are plenty of talented chefs out there, but very few combine that talent with Ben’s level of integrity and heart. He’s truly one of a kind!

What an incredible date night at 74 Charlotte Street! We tried Ben's Table tasting menus (both Dinner and Vegetarian) and got a few extra desserts because why not - life's too short! Chef Ben Murphy's creativity shone through in every dish. My Standout highlights: The MILK BREAD was divine - impossibly soft with beautiful noisette butter. We may have strategically saved some for the end because it was that good. The EGGS & SOLDIERS was pure genius, with bacon hidden at the bottom of the egg adding incredible flavor. The MUSHROOM showcased impeccable ingredients, and the VENISON was cooked to perfection. The APPLE CRUMBLE SOUFFLÉ was the perfect ending - the cinnamon and apple combination was spot-on. This is what autumn dreams are made of. The JASMINE MAI TAI was exceptional. Special mention to Harry, whose service was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. He made our evening truly special and somehow knew exactly when we needed another cocktail. The elegant and modern ambiance, great pacing, and joyful cooking make this an absolute gem in Fitzrovia. We left with huge smiles (and pleasantly full stomachs) and are already planning our return! Must-try: Everything, but especially the Milk Bread, Eggs & Soldiers, Soufflé, and Jasmine Mai Tai

An amazing experience. The food was exceptional , especially the bread and tuna starter. The team are friendly, kind and knowledgeable. Also I was gifted an extra bread to take home for my daughter. Highly recommend and unbelievably reasonable. £39 for three courses as lunch and the wine list is very accessible.

Beautiful food by Ben and his team! The restaurant is modern, vibrant and the wine cellar is stunning. The dishes are all incredible, highly recommend the lobster, monkfish, fish taco, bread and ravioli. Love the variety of dishes, with plenty of fish and meats to choose from. A large wine list which is hard to find these days. Can’t wait to come back in a few weeks!

My visit to 74 Charlotte Street by Ben Murphy delivered refined cooking and thoughtful service in Fitzrovia's elegant dining room. The space balances sophistication with comfort, creating an inviting atmosphere suited to both celebration and conversation. The meal began with milk bread served alongside pumpkin seed hummus and noisette butter. The butter arrived as a perfect cube, its brown butter richness complementing the bread's soft texture and setting a strong opening tone. The fish and chips taco proved to be one of the most playful dishes of the night. Cod tempura sat within a taco construction, paired with chip emulsion, pickled cabbage and sauce vierge. This demonstrated technical skill while maintaining fun. The textures worked together, with crisp tempura contrasting against creamy emulsion. I ordered the eggs and soldiers without the usual bacon, keeping the butternut element. The dish arrived well-balanced, showcasing quality ingredients prepared with care. The presentation was clean, and the flavours delivered comfort without heaviness. The bluefin tuna starter combined ponzu, apple and radish. This provided freshness and clarity. The ponzu brought acidity that lifted the tuna, while the apple and radish added crunch and subtle sweetness. The combination felt considered and light. My companion chose the squab pigeon with burnt orange, turnip and timut pepper. He found the dish satisfying, with the bird cooked properly and accompanying elements adding depth without overwhelming the main ingredient. For mains, the BBQ monkfish arrived with vin jaune, coco beans and mussels. The presentation showed care and attention. The monkfish received praise for its cooking, with gentle smokiness running through the dish. The sauce did not fully convince my companion, though the fish itself remained the highlight. Ben prepared a beef dish specifically for me, incorporating quince and parsnip to accommodate my halal requirements. This personal touch demonstrated flexibility and consideration. The beef was tender, and sweet notes from the quince balanced the earthiness of the parsnip. The dish felt complete and intentional rather than an afterthought. Sides included a mixed leaf salad with ponzu and crispy leek, providing freshness between richer courses. Ben's peri peri chips deserved their own mention. They carried heat without aggression, with seasoning that enhanced rather than masked the potato. My companion selected the soufflé for dessert but found the alcohol content too prominent. I chose the chocolate tart with hazelnut and praline. The tart delivered richness balanced by the nuttiness of hazelnut, while praline added textural contrast. The chocolate was deep without being cloying. Throughout the evening, I enjoyed mocktails crafted with attention. The barman created one specifically for me, adapting to my preferences. The Shirley Wallbanger, made with Lyre's London dry spirit, vanilla syrup and orange juice, brought tangy sweetness with length. Both drinks showed that non-alcoholic options could carry complexity and interest. Service remained consistently strong. Elvira provided attentive care without intrusion, reading the table well and timing courses appropriately. Her knowledge of the menu helped guide choices, and her warmth added to the experience. Meeting Ben Murphy proved a highlight. He took time to discuss the menu and showed genuine interest in ensuring my dietary needs were met. This personal engagement elevated the visit beyond simply dining out. 74 Charlotte Street operates with confidence. The cooking shows technical ability married to thoughtful flavour combinations. The venue provides a setting that feels special without being stuffy. For those seeking refined cooking in central London, this restaurant merits consideration. The accommodation of dietary requirements without compromise on quality or creativity speaks to the kitchen's capability and approach.
