We came for a celebratory dinner, and it was the worst service we’ve ever experienced. The waiter came to take our order but seemed completely out of it, like she wasn’t listening at all. She then came back to take the order again, which is fine, mistakes happen.but when we asked her to repeat the order to confirm, she insisted she had already gotten it right. So clearly, she never actually took the order the first time.
We waited 20 minutes just to place our order, and then another 30 minutes before we could even order dessert. It felt like the restaurant was understaffed and overwhelmed.
To make matters worse, when clearing the table, one of the staff dropped a used fork directly into the pasta plate that had just arrived. They then picked it up with their bare hands and touched the food without offering a proper apology. We had to go to the host stand ourselves to pay, and only after we complained did anyone apologize.
To be fair, the food and the kitchen were great, but from a service point of view, and I say this as someone who has worked in the industry, it was a truly disappointing experience. It wasn’t just one server; the overall service was slow, careless, and borderline aggressive. For the price you’re paying, this is absolutely unacceptable.
We spent over £300, and while they did deduct the waters and the cookie dessert, it still came to over £200. Definitely not worth it if you want good service.
