London’s New Restaurant Openings - London - The Infatuation

"The team behind two great spots—one known for smashburgers and one for cookies—is opening a French restaurant in Mayfair. 74 Duke takes its inspiration from Parisian brasseries, and you can expect dishes like carpaccio daurade royale and grilled king shrimp in cognac butter on the menu. And, crucially, there will be a burger." - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

We had a fabulous birthday lunch at 74 Duke, last Friday. We had pre-booked and only waited a few minutes until we were shown to our table. Our coats were taken to the cloakroom and we were given a ticket to have them retrieved at the end of the meal. Such a good idea, as it removes all coats/jackets from being draped over the chairs and looking unsightly. We had the most attentive and knowledgeable waitress called Nikki. She was happy to explain what items were on the menu and offer insightful recommendations, and took great care to perform a high level of service. Nikki was the consummate professional - a real asset to the team. Now for the food and drinks, where do I begin? We ordered Le Dragon champagne cocktails - which were so addictive! We kept ordering them lol The food was absolutely delicious, high praise for the grilled king prawns with Cognac butter, veal cutlets with brown mustard, pommes duchesse and gratin du ravioles du dauphine! All very memorable food choices but the starter of the menu was the cookies with banana ice cream - viral for good reason! The atmosphere was pleasant, moderate noise that you could still hold a conversation (not overly noisy at all). Toilets are downstairs, so kerp that in mind if you have any mobility issues. The bill worked out at approx £100 per person (a little bit more with the Le Dragon cocktails lol) Can't wait to go back again!

An excellent dining experience at 74 Duke, London. The beef burger was very good, but the true highlight was the mushroom pasta, beautifully cooked and full of flavour. The grilled chicken was also exceptionally delicious. The bread and salted butter served before the meal were a simple yet memorable touch. The fries were slightly on the oily and softer side rather than crispy, which may not suit everyone. For dessert, both the cookies and rice pudding were delightful, though the cookie portion is ideal for sharing due to its generous size. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was kind and attentive with recommendations, and the hostess graciously accommodated our party despite a booking change. Overall, a refined and highly enjoyable experience. 10/10.

Absolutely lives up to the hype, such a fantastic restaurant. The food was amazing, the prawns were outstanding definitely the stand out meal. The pasta looks so simple but was so effective wow, the burger was what you want out of a burger! I also recommend d the tuna tarter starter. Fabio was fantastic and provided brilliant service! Couldn’t want for me! Perfect birthday meal for my boyfriend! On the proper side but it’s Mayfair and genuinly you get the value in the food and service!

The fries in this place is just on another level!!! the pasta is good but it wasn’t special, the steak was well cooked and tasty, their burger was just ok. If I would go again for this place I will go for their cookies and ice cream! The cookies were warm, chewy and super rich! And goes really well with the ice cream! I would give it a 10/10!!

Had one of my favorite dining experiences at 74 Duke Mayfair. We ordered the prawn pasta, calamari, tartare salad, mixed salad, and caviar — each dish was beautifully presented and full of rich flavor. We also tried two desserts, both absolutely worth it. The atmosphere was elegant and calm, with a classy and sophisticated interior. The service was attentive and professional, making the whole experience truly memorable. Perfectly located in the heart of Mayfair, this refined spot is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates fine dining and exceptional taste.

One of the best French restaurants in London! From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warm and elegant atmosphere. The staff are friendly, attentive, and make you feel truly welcome. Every dish is beautifully presented and full of authentic French flavors — absolutely delicious! The desserts are a highlight — refined, rich, and simply unforgettable. Whether you’re coming for a romantic dinner or a special occasion, this restaurant is an excellent choice. Highly recommended.

74 Duke – A Must-Try Spot in London 74 Duke has quickly become one of my favorite comfort-food stops in London. The quality, consistency, and flavor here are on another level. The fillet is exceptional—perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned, and incredibly tender. Every bite feels premium. The burger is just as impressive: juicy, full of flavor, and built exactly the way a great burger should be. And you have to get the fries—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and addictive in the best way. But the highlight that ties the whole experience together is the cookie dessert. Warm, gooey, rich, and served with just the right balance—it’s the kind of dessert you think about long after you leave. Great food, great atmosphere, and a place that gets the details right. Highly recommend 74 Duke for anyone craving top-tier comfort dishes done perfectly.

I was really looking forward to trying 74 Duke, as I’ve always enjoyed bistro-style restaurants and had heard/read good things. When I arrived about 15–20 minutes early, I mentioned I was happy to wait and asked if I could be seated, but the welcome wasn’t particularly warm. The response was more along the lines of being told to wait outside or come back closer to the reservation time - not the most inviting start. Once seated at a lovely table by the glass, things improved. The goat-cheese salad and tuna tartare were both excellent: fresh, balanced, and full of flavor. To be fair, our waitress was incredibly warm and attentive, which helped turn things around. For mains, I had the burger and my wife the chicken. The burger looked solid but was under-seasoned and underwhelming, neither the rich, juicy kind of a great “steak” burger nor the refined creativity of a gourmet one. It simply lacked character. 74 Duke has charm and a decent atmosphere. However, it feels like several (particularly newer) restaurants in London focus significantly on marketing and aesthetic appeal, while sometimes neglecting the finer details of their food execution.
