There are birthdays being celebrated in the ginormous booths, parents juggling kids and slices of burrata-topped pizza, and friends getting into the natural wine selection alongside a spicy ‘roni pie. The pizzas coming out of the kitchen are by 75 Slices and they mean business. The edges are puffy and charred, and each slice is crispy while still chewy enough to be folded and dipped. "75 Slices, the pizza residency coming out of comfy Bethnal Green pub, Three Colts Tavern, is making some of the finest, crispy NYC-style pizzas in London. Couples cosying on the sofa and families juggling kids are both very interested in a spicy pepperoni pie—for good reason. The edges are puffy and charred, and each slice is crispy while still chewy enough to be folded and dipped into tangy garlic and herb dip. Mozzarella is melted into the sauce, while the extra burrata sits on top in thick, creamy dollops. Add the pesto swirl for a nice hint of fragrant basil, and yes, you’ll need at least a pizza each. The Spicy Roni still has plenty of 75 Slice’s sweet tomato sauce, along with a generous scattering of pepperoni. Thinly sliced jalapeño and a drizzle of hot honey add a subtle heat. Our only complaint? But 75 Slices makes a strong case for this underdog topping.
