7th West Opens in Oakland With Jeepney Guy - Eater SF

"A sprawling, 8,000-square-foot bar, restaurant, and events space debuts in West Oakland on Saturday, August 25. Dubbed 7th West, the future social hub features fresh murals, loads of outdoor seating, room for live music and art shows, and an exclusive kitchen space for Dennis Villafranca of the Filipino truck Jeepney Guy. Villafranca is best known for his lechon, boneless roasted pork belly with crispy golden skin. But at 7th West, he’s able to offer a much more extensive menu than with his truck. It features fun bar snacks like fried pig ears and chicken nuggets dredged in mochi flour and coconut milk, plus larger rice plates piled with adobo ribs or buttery shrimp. There are a couple of vegan options, too." - Janelle Bitker

I had a great time with family and friends. Delicious food. Great service. I really liked the outside space with a stage. Comedy show later on in the evening. So much fun. Great tasting Beer!! Check it out, I recommend it.

Went here today for the first time. It's a neat venue with a ton of indoor/outdoor seating and several old and vintage pinball machines. The food was okay, but extremely overpriced - the burger was $16+ and didn't even come with fries/chips. The service was SO slow. We were literally four of the 8 people in the venue and it still took forever to get our order. You can't order drinks directly at the bar, instead you've gotta go through their QR code menu on your phone. Just waiting for some beers took 15 minutes. Overall, this place has a lot of potential. The service needs a ton of work and some of their food is overpriced and not worth it.

This place is pretty chill with good music...they serve drinks and there's food but i didnt try any of the food...they also have arcade games which i wish were free instead of paying quarters or tokens..but other then that place a great hang out..they did have a 20$ cover on sunday which i dont know if they always have a cover..

Google
Great bar/ hangout spot with cool backyard, beats for days, fun games, and really cool bartenders, especially Desi (think that's her name) - she's the best!

Cindy Tsai

Google
Fun indoor outdoor venue with drinks and yummy food! Come when there are dance events for an added good time!

Carlo Miguel

Google
The video/pinball games are a nice touch. The beer served in an ice-cold glass, and solid Pilipino phot are both bonuses. They're just getting started with their very large outdoor space, but you can see the night dance party is just beginning.

Google
I sell my handmade clothing at the monthly Disco Donuts day party. I love the bathroom mural. The inside is decorated with some old school gaming. Outside is absolutely gorgeous with so much to love. The venue is a great venue to either have an event or go to one. Love this space.

Google
A wonderful place a short walk from BART. Very friendly and engaging staff. Outdoor seating only (Oct. '20), so no arcade games. Ordering online is easy and service is quick. The food is good, with vegan options.

Yelp
This is hands down the best place to eat and have a great time! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely makes you feel welcome. Whether you're dining solo, with family, or with a group of friends, the experience is always enjoyable. The food here is absolutely amazing--fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The menu offers a great variety of options, catering to all tastes and dietary preferences. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty meal, a light snack, or a delicious dessert, this place has something for everyone. The ingredients are high-quality, and you can really taste the effort that goes into every dish. Beyond the food, the ambiance is perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. The seating is comfortable, the decor is stylish yet cozy, and the overall vibe makes it a great spot to relax and enjoy yourself. Whether you're catching up with friends, celebrating a milestone, or just looking for a great place to unwind, this is the perfect spot. If you're looking for a top-tier dining experience with outstanding food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere, this place is a must-visit. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic meal and a great time!

Yelp
First time here This spot has been on my bucket list for sometime now My friend and I came on St Patrick's day Venue is In door/outdoor Inside is a full bar and arcade games They sell snacks/small bites Venue is kid friendly and pet friendly ... There was like a little flea market going on as you enter Vibe is cool Drama free on this particular day the music was like techno vibes Parking ...... Street parking only I saw a bunch of broken glass all over the side walk We risked it all and parked on the street Thankfully my car wasn't violated I would definitely come back here again Maybe next time take a Lyft or Uber to prevent car break in

Yelp
Really neat venue I stumbled across when I went to hear The Prototype play for a non-profit event. I loved the whole ambiance of the place: hanging lights, cheap drinks, memorable staff, abd delicious food late at night. The fundraising event was a success, and apparently there was a birthday party being hosted at the same time. It's a wonderful space for music and dancing. I'd love to check it out during warmer Oakland nights, although I'm not sure how warm the nights are out here since it's so close to the waterfront. Located along a historic corridor in Oakland, it's a funky place to grab a drink and enjoy some Filipino cooking. Tip: Tip your staff! Bartenders may be open to tips in shot form.

Yelp
I don't drink. I do other stuff like: appreciate murals appreciate music dance I appreciate classic video game consoles and themed pinball machines. I love this place. I have been here 20 minutes. It is my new Wonderland.
google avatar

Scott M.

Yelp
Closed at 2 pm on a Saturday? Yep!!! Not exactly sure why. So lame. Why would you be closed during the summer.
google avatar

Joe K.

Yelp
Slowest bartenders. They're even slow pouring a beer. Avoid this place when it's busy. It's a really cool space in a neighborhood that needed something like this. Good spot to chill and have a beer as long as they're not too busy.
google avatar

Becca T.

Yelp
Have been here a good amount of times and overall -good to watch games (indoor) -wonderful for groups -better to get food beforehand (chicken lumpia is good though) -cheap drinks It's never really crazy busy when I've came but the space is huge. Hoping to see this place come alive, it's a wonderful venue space. Always meet wonderful strangers, service is usually okay and music and food not bad.

Yelp
Came here one day after work. DO NOT LET THE NEIGHBORHOOD steer you away. The adobo wings are so good and the carnitas fries were also yummy. if you are going during their food hours. the ambiance and the design of this outdoor bar was awesome. They had open mic when i went.. so the music was awesome! Definitely will go back and maybe join open mic (sike hah)

Yelp
Always wanted to visit this place and finally got to this past weekend. Odd location but great space. They are by a homeless encampment but we didn't get bothered. Parking is kind of hard as they are on the corner of a one way street and a main street. Street parking is your only option. The space is beautiful. They have different art pieces and the walls are painted with colorful murals. Even the ground is a piece of art! So much to look at. They do take all safety precautions: they have you sign up on their ipad to acknowledge you have no symptoms, they have hand sanitizer available, and they take your temp before entering. The bar is open but the arcade games are locked up. The bathrooms are unisex, the urinal and toilet are separated by a door. It smelled clean which made me feel more comfortable. Plenty of long tables, bar tops and other seats. You can scan their menu and order from your phone and they'll bring out your order. I wish I visited prior to COVID, but nonetheless the staff were upbeat, music was jammin' and it was great to be outside enjoying the sunshine. I'll definitely be back. *BONUS: filipino owned too!
google avatar

Jasmin G.

Yelp
We absolutely loved the vibes here - staff was super friendly, people were hanging out enjoying drinks, and there was a cute market to shop at too. The outside and inside are both beautifully decorated (looking at you Kehlani)! The ordering process is cool; we scanned a QR code on our table and ordered and paid through our phones. There's very minimal waiter interaction. We also filled out a Covid safety form and had our temperatures taken before entering - we loved all the steps taken ensure everyone's safety! I ordered the garlic adobo wing box and the iced tea. The wings were good but a bit too salty. The iced tea unfortunately tasted like nothing (my friend who tried it also confirmed this) - it was essentially water. My friends got the fried chicken sandwich; they said the chicken was super moist and they liked the fries too. The food and drinks both took upwards of 40 minutes to arrive. Overall, I'd definitely come back to and enjoy the live music, market, and a drink!

Yelp
Good place for dranks, food was good when they had jeepney guy, great service, cool, funky vibes on certain nights, so check listing before you go.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here again at night and the lights and DJ heighten the experience. the Adobo wings are the winner on the menu - sesame seeds on the brussel sprouts are different but the Lumpia portions feel small. Good meeting place for SF and Oakland folks to meet up or a place to start your evening before heading in to SF.
google avatar

Michelle R.

Yelp
Not enough bartenders and it's hot as he'll inside. Their "rules" won't allow them to open the side or front door for air flow/ circulation. Stupid! Change your dumb rules or get locking screen doors. And hire more bartenders when you have events.
google avatar

Van C.

Yelp
Huge spot to host an event, they got a full bar and plenty of parking outside. Plenty of Outdoor seating great music not too overbearing and friendly staff! Plus they have a Kehlani mural!!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
You guys have got to book your next party here but after Covid. My friend had his 30th birthday here back in Feb and it was soooo DOPE! Granted this was way before covid happened but still an amazing time There are arcade games, Filipino food that can be catered for parties, A large enough dance floor and even a back yard for more of the larger venue seating. They have a good selection at the bar. I liked the beer selections the most. The only thing was the parking. It was a little hard to find parking around the area.
google avatar

Donna T.

Yelp
First time here and didn't know what to expect. This place is about a block away from west Oakland Bart. When you guys are coming here and parking please do not leave anything valuable in your car. I use to park around the area to bart to work and got my car broken into 3 times in one year. I don't think the growing homeless encampment around the area is helping either. If you are coming here with a party make sure to come early, they have you fill out a COVID questionnaire and take your temperature. The tables are spread out and you order through a QR code system. You can go inside to use the bathroom otherwise everything is order online. The ambiance here is great. It's also a good area for live bands and aspiring artists to perform. The menu that they had online and on google was different from what they were serving in their QR code menu. Maybe it's a simplified covid menu but I did not enjoy their food. It was quite bland. I ordered the lumpia, fries (they did not have sisig fries), and Filipino rice dish (the rice was regular steamed rice and not garlic rice). The Lumpia was ok, but it's not a show stopper. It didn't make me crave for more. I'm usually a big French fry person however these fries were just not good, they were thick fries and were mushy. The Rice and meat dish was a bit plain. I would come here to hang out and have a drink but I wouldn't come here to eat their food.

Yelp
I have avoided writing this review because now y'all will certainly know where to find me. If you were wondering, this is my spot. Like my bar, where you can find me, it has literally all that I could want in a bar and I hope it never changes! It is dimly lit with statement but muted lighting, there's a stage some days and a chance to be the star of your own private audience every Wednesday for karaoke night. There's art/graffiti adorning the walls created by awesome local muralists and a rotating cocktail menu that truly cant be beat- last night I had such a warming spicy mezcal cocktail, in the summer I Live for a Manila Margarita There's rotating local chef that serve bites to perfectly compliment the drinks, I loooooove when Jeepney Guy is there and was truly sad to see him go from permanent cook to pop up there. Best part is this place is never dull, they have a bunch of video games and it's such a chill local vibe.
google avatar

Folasadé O.

Yelp
The vibe here is really cool and unique. We ordered the Brisket fries and lumpia. The portion was large enough for 2 people. The pineapple crema was the MVP of this meal. I was surprised actually. The flavor was there but I think it would be cool if the layered the meat, beans and cream throughout the fries. Once we got to the bottom the fries were pretty dry. I do blame that on the fact that I love sauces (self proclaimed Sauce Queen) but that's neither here nor there. It's a cool place next to west Oakland Bart station.
google avatar

Keizzel C.

Yelp
If you're near West Oakland, want Filipino food, or live music then this is the place to go! Surprised this place wasn't on my radar with my Filipino food fixes lately, but I'm so glad one of my friends took us out here over the weekend. When you pull up to the place via Uber/Lyft (they also have a small parking lot) it looks like a small place but once you enter (they have a bouncer) you are transported to a new place with high ceilings, space for a live band, full bar, and outdoor area with cornhole/large jenga. Can't forget to mention that they have arcade games lining the sides of this place and a change machine if you're feeling like playing a few rounds. We came around 7PM on a Friday night and we had no problem getting a table/ordering drinks but come 9PM this place gets popping. We opted for indoor seating since it's cold, but the outdoor area does have heat lamps and plenty of space that you wouldn't expect based on the exterior. The chicharron ($5), dirty tots ($10), and mochi nuggets ($10?) were superb and were great options to share with a group. The chicharron was the clear favorite at our table but the lechon on the perfectly crispy tots came a close second. They have lechon sauce, sweet chili, ketchup right near the window to the kitchen to the self-serve supplies. Cocktails are so so, but if you're really going for the Filipino experience they sell San Mig and Red Horse which is what we ended up getting a few round of.
google avatar

Claudine V.

Yelp
Met some friends here for lunch. Some friends drove around 9 times to find parking. That's the only negative about this place , parking is horrible. We ordered the lechon , lumpia and tater tots. We loved our food. My friends ordered the chicken but don't know how that tasted like. The tater tots were yummy and crunchy. The lechon was crispy and well flavored. Will definitely come back here and try other stuff again.
google avatar

Shego W.

Yelp
This place has gone down hill since it first opened. This last time I visited the bartender and the drinks sucked the music sucked and the food was horrible as well.
google avatar

Antonella I.

Yelp
My partner and I have been coming here for a year or so and we always loved it here however, yesterday was the first time we were super disappointed. They normally have Filipino fusion tapas available but I think for the weekend they were sponsoring a vegan pop-up. Our group was actually really excited to try the impossible burger so we ordered three with Cajun fries and onion rings. We waited over 35 mins for our food to show up and when it finally did, the fries and onion rings were cold and very sloppy looking with no sauce on the side. The burger did not look appetizing and it was very dry. This was the first time we also had to pay for water and if we wanted sauce to go with our fries or burgers we also had to pay extra for that. We ended up leaving right after we ate because the atmosphere was also not it for a Sunday afternoon. I hope yesterday was just a bad day for them but dam.
google avatar

Hieyam A.

Yelp
*screams in gay* I am SO sad my first time here was during quarantine. My partner tells me stories of going pre quarantine and how it "used to be" JEALOUS! However, I went to watch the Vice Presidential debate and the food and drinks were delicious! The kitchen really did the darn thing and would go back just for food to be honest. I look forward to a healthy post Covid world so I can experience 7th West in it's entirety
google avatar

Juan S.

Yelp
Living in West Oakland, I love exploring neighborhood spots. This one is particularly fun because of the space and diversity of the venue and activities. There is a food kitchen, bar, video game area and indoor/outdoor seating. I've watched many live performances outdoors during Covid and have enjoyed many different Latin and hip hop events that were lit. Always a great time here.
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
Love 7TH West! Came across 7TH West through a friends recommendation and quick yelp search. Love the ambiance and beautiful art work! Cant go wrong with their wings, beer and lumpia.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
I am not a fan of Filipino food, but the atmosphere and service makes up for anything that I might not love about the food. I have the fish tacos and they were good. They sell a diet soda that is not diet Coke, but I liked it. My friend's got fish and chips and they looked good. But what's best about this place is a combination of the location, the amazing covid-19 safety precautions, and the service.
google avatar

Wanda R.

Yelp
Bland on top of bland. I was just here pre COVID and the food was right- great fried chicken and rice. This was terrible to say the least. Sorry, get your old cooks back who know Asian flavor and expectations for the customers. I'll only be back for the ambiance not the food! I even bought someone with me who hadn't been here and he hated the food. On top of the fact it's order by order and can't pay for everything's as u accumulate a tab. Terrible and taxed for every item separate. Sorry, I'll make sure I continue to have my computer in tow to get work done cause I sure will not be looking UP for cuisine or anything else.
google avatar

Sora M.

Yelp
This is such an awesome venue! I've been here several times and recently celebrated my birthday and it was such a great evening, I highly recommend this spot if you are looking for a spacious outdoor venue. They have an indoor section too but I love the outdoor patio, which has art everywhere, with pleasant lighting and again, so much space. It's also dog friendly! They have a great selection of drinks and food too. Zollie was the host who was so accommodating and sweet to allow me to have my friends DJ for my birthday. I was very grateful my request was accepted on short notice, and Zollie and 7th west folks made it super seamless for my friends to get set up and have a lovely memorable evening. I will definitely be coming back and hopefully may coordinate future events here!
google avatar

Cliff S.

Yelp
Cool spot! My friend's used to work with the owners so we kinda got a lil special treatment, but its a really cool spot. So here are the plus items 1) large indoor area 2) great staff 3) arcade games! 4) usually music, large screen for movies and DJ 5) large outdoor area with patio seating, lights, cornhole 6) fur baby friendly There are no bad things about this place, except the other night it was Halloween party and we got charged to get in, I'm too old to be paying for cover. On to the food... I liked that there's different foods, the one time we went there was Filipino food... the Lechon was really good... I could have done without the rice and slaw and its a bit over priced, but food truck food so nothing you can really do about that.
google avatar

Kyshia M.

Yelp
This spot is huge! A very large inside with arcade games (make sure you have change) a full bar and seating, cafeteria style. The drinks are water. I had two shots of tequila and it didn't even put a dent in my sober state of mind. after two shots I decided to just go to the store instead. The bar is also short staffed so with that being said it was getting crowded but with one bartender, you will be waiting for a while. The outside patio area is also huge! Would be great a space for a day party. There's a few picnic tables and tall tables for lounging. There's a really neat bright red heart that lights up and a huge mural painted onto the wall. Back inside you can find food! There's a small window upon entrance where you can order some Filipino food, my friend ordered tots since she's anti meat these days. I'll be a regular here if they made stronger drinks. FYI, beer should not be "fresh" and flat at the same time.
google avatar

Alliver V.

Yelp
I really the ambiance! Great place to hang out with friends! They have coin operated video games, beer, dj playing, and goood food! I love how they serve Filipino food on the menu! (I'm biased because I'm Filipino myself) if I'm out with my friends in Oakland this would be one of the spots I'd go to get a drink with my friends! Overall good experience, highly recommend if you are in the area for drinks!

Yelp
We just wanted to give a huge shoutout to 7th West for creating such a dope space filled with so much light, energy & fun while still making us feel safe with their covid protocols. And an even bigger shoutout to the homies who work there Zollie & Robert who both goes hella above and beyond in what they do! Zollie made sure we were having a good time from the moment we got there, and even checked in at our table a few times throughout the night to make sure we were still good. Robert (the best bouncer I ever met!) really looked out for me like a real one with a parking situation I was having. All the staff were also so on point--from the tasty af food to the quick service and them dranks boy! The bartender, cooks & servers knows exactly wassup lol 7th West Management: If anyone deserves a raise/promotion, please take care of these two phenomenal gentlemen Zollie & Robert. Our team was so impressed by there level of customer service and beautiful souls that we just had to write this 5 star review for them. Thank you 7th W homies for taking care of us, and we look forward to continue supporting y'all and brining our people back for more soon!

Yelp
7th West - one of my family's favorite places to go! I'm from LA but I will say this place makes me wanna rep the Bay. Their good food, great space for families and fun, and great service - literally they have it all. And to top it off - they some of the best Filipino food to offer, drinks galore at the bar and fun games for you and the kids. What is not to love about this place!? Oh, and don't forget the outside patio that has really cool art space and giant Jenga. If you're looking for a dope place to host a party that's family friendly and will allow you to relax, this is the place to be. My sister had her birthday here last year and we had an amazing time! Oh, and the have pretty dope music. Parking: Street parking only unfortunately - but there's street parking nonetheless! Ambiance: Chill - brewery-esque; Casual. Or dress it up - whatever you like. Regardless, there's drinks, good food, and arcade games. Seating: Seat yourself. Love that this place has a bunch of tables so that it can seat a bunch of people all together. (There were 25+ of us ... had to be cuz we had a buncha kids runnin' around too). Food: Jeepney Guy - FILIPINO FOOD. I think their menu changes sometimes... so just gotta call and ask. Or be surprised. Everything I tasted was good anyways. lol. Drinks: TAKE YOUR PICK. There's a bar, special drinks to your liking. Bathroom: On site and available for use.

Yelp
Awesome event space - spacious and secure. We went to a family event here with my 9 yr old and his friends. Both food and drinks are good and are ordered via QR code. While servers are friendly, they are slow when they are quiet busy. Make sure to order earlier in the evening.

Yelp
Yes, Yes, YESSS!!! 7TH West has been what I've been looking for my whole life--YOU da one, baybee! So tell me, what do you get when you put Oakland's Kevin P. from The Overlook, Pancho K. from The Hatch and Donna S. from Brinkman all in one room to come up with a business? You get an expansive, 8000 square foot bar called 7th West!! These three masterminds opened up a huge community space filled with tons of arcade games, food, large screen TV's, drinks and a large outside area with a small dog park; that's not only family-friendly but is dog-friendly during the day and is crackin' during the night for us late-night lovers! For my birthday this year, I was persistent in going to 7th West to check it out. I kindly waited until they got their kinks out and decided to come once they launched their Happy Hour. I reached out to the business and was able to check in with Kevin (Big shout out to Kevin, his customer service was phenomenal! He responds SO quickly; good looking out, Kevin!) Walking in the area, you would think this is an abandoned building, or what used to be a car shop--however, don't let the good looks fool you. The outside of the building is wrapped in amazing colorful artwork--you can't help but stop and take it all in. Once you walk in, you will quickly notice the huge open space and...THE ARCADE GAMES! 7th West will make you feel like you are an extremely big kid. There is something for EVERYONE! The outside is HUGEE. Perfect for large group parties; I also peaked that they have an option to host a bar area outside. I can definitely see the outside back area a GREAT spot for summer Day Parties?! **Hint Hint* Let's not forget the tasty food they have! Filipino food, baybee! Everything from Lumpia to those phuckin' delicious ol' tater tots! Still undecided on if this is a place for you? Here are five more reasons you shouldn't sleep on 7th West: * Come to enjoy the music and the crowd! * The drinks are FAB! Bartenders are the SH!T! * Bring your fur-babies and come to have a great time! * Be on the lookout for the day events that they have going on! * When you get too buzzed--Walk down the street to the West Oakland BART Station

Yelp
I am really loving this bar. They are located right by West Oakland Bart. Parking can be a bit tough and sketchy but once you get parked mosey on in and have a seat. At the entrance they have a great little Filipino restaurant that takes orders for the bar. The food is pretty good and fairly reasonable. The interior of this place is huge. They have games lined up all along the wall. So if you want a little stress relief go put those dollars in the change machine and play a few games. They also have a movies projecting in the wall. The bar staff is super friendly. The drinks are reasonably priced and poured just right. I believe it's also pet friendly the doggies just have to be out back. Don't get discouraged because the outdoor patio is pretty large and swank. U definitely recommend stopping here and giving that place a try.
google avatar

Jake C.

Yelp
This place is brand new, but already has flavor. The owners each have successful Oakland business'. So, they lost their virginity else-where. The video/pinball games are a nice touch. The beer served in an ice cold glass, and solid Pilipino phood are both bonus. They're just getting started with their very large outdoor space, but you can see the night dance party is just beginning. Be Here.
google avatar

Yelp
I had the lumpia and chicken wings. Both orders were cold and I wasn't impressed either with the flavor profile. I was disappointed and won't return.

Yelp
We're all for supporting small business so we hope this place works out the kinks and does well. We may come back in a couple of months and give them another try. I'll update my review. It's located in a sketchy area. Google maps took us through a homeless encampment just down the street. The building itself didn't look appealing. It's a warehouse with a bar, pinball machines lining the walls and a DJ area. The back patio looks like a nice place to kick back in. Two stars because my husband loved the fresh chicharon - but that was it. For the price we paid for food, we expected more in quality. I've heard of the Jeepney Guy so I was excited to try the food. I didn't expect to be so disappointed. We came in for Silog Sunday - but they only had bacon silog at the time. The bacon was over done. I tried the vegan sisig and and I just don't know what to say. It was just a pile of onions. We both picked at it trying to figure out what the rest of it was. I couldn't get past the mound of ONIONS. Was there tofu in there? Mushrooms maybe? I was looking so forward to it, too. I ended up just eating the rice and the egg. Finally, dude helping out in there referred to the Giants manager as Chris Bochy?!?! I'm done! Lol

Yelp
Need a snack and a drink? Feel like playing a game or dancing? Well 7th West is the place! It's like filipino lumpia heaven; and a nice watering hole for your weekly alcoholic binge. Along with some old school video games to bring back a nostalgic time warp to when things were fun and simple. And a Dj playin all the eclectic funky music you need to hear to turn up on a Tuesday. And the best part is it's walking distance from my house!

Yelp
Fun throwback vibe with awesome 90s hip hop beats & arcade games that we all enjoyed growing up! Extremely spacious & even moreso in their patio, featuring dope art murals on the wall & vibrant lights. Would've enjoyed more if NBA Jam didn't eat my coins. But will definitely be back! Conveniently located near West Oakland BART.

Yelp
Great vibes, friendly staff and unique industrial space. I'm excited to have a POC owned bar in the Lower Bottoms neighborhood. Obviously, a new bar like this in West Oakland brings some heavy baggage. There have been some positive and some not so positive changes in this community the last few years, so I'm excited to see a space that aims to be inclusive and provides an outlet from the daily grind for everyone. Bars, restaurants, music venues, etc. will inevitably come to this neighborhood at some point however my hope is that owners have a deep understanding and appreciation for this neighborhood's past and present. There's a sense of respect and responsibility that comes with opening an establishment like this as well as ensuring that long time residents are included in the planning. From what I've read, the folks behind 7thWest seem to be on the right track so I'm optimistic this spot will have staying power and work with/for the community. As for the venue itself, this place offers delicious Filipino food, solid music, arcade & board games, video projectors, dope murals, a vast outdoor space and decent beer list. It's less than a 10 minute walk from Bart although not the most scenic of walks (just being candid). Their cocktail game could use some improvement- the margarita seemed off but maybe it was just me. I want this place to succeed and look forward to seeing the outdoor space become even better over the next few months. It felt a little underutilized. Overall, I highly recommend it- just be patient with them while they figure it out!

Yelp
I was first here for an event and 7th West is a great new bar and event space in West Oakland. Lots of outdoor and indoor seating with a ton of arcade games with many that are only a quarter. A few blocks from West Oakland Bart and when I went there were lots of parking on 7th St. On my second visit, I tried the food which is from Jeepney Guy whom I've seen at Off the Grid. The lechon plate was perfection, the meat was juicy and flavorful and the skin was magically light and crispy. I'll definitely come back for the food and to relax with a few drinks.

Yelp
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this Community Event space. All is welcome including furry friends! Pros: -arcade -foosball -pinball -big screens -full bar Annnnnnnd a small and cute kitchen that serves up some delicious eats. AND THATS JUST THE INSIDE lol Yes! There is an OUTDOOR section!!!!! But I'll let you go by and visit to see what that entails. Just imagine the whole family can come here and have a great time until 10pm and then off to bed kiddies. At 10pm it adult and furry friends time lol Yes you can easily find a Dj spinning, beers clanking and people dancing. Please take the family or friends and check this place out. Shhhhh.....the tater tots are so freaking yummy

Yelp
This is by far one of those hidden gems that everyone should know about! Located a block away from West Oakland Bart, with tons of street parking if you're driving your own car. The staff was supper nice and the Jeepeny guy kitchen was so clean that you could eat off the floor(don't do it though). The Mochiko Chicken Nuggets (Boneless chicken thighs with coconut milk batter and special dipping sauce) and the Lechon(Roasted Pork Belly Lechon with crispy skin)Rice plate with cabbage and kale slaw was so good that I had a hard time sharing with my friend. Let's not forget about the condiments station. Just take a little cup of each one as vinegar and that sugary ketchup will compliment your meal. I will say, by far, this place has one of the best Lechon I have had in the bay! It's the perfect crispy crunchiness that you always look for in Filipino food. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars was because of the technology (technical difficulties) for their display screen so the chef ‍ had to explain each item, as well as they did not have everything on the website menu on this particular day. If you are looking for some great Filipino food, in a relaxed atmosphere with an outside seating are and video games, then this is the place to kick it! Just make sure you tell them that I sent you!

Yelp
What's not to love about this place. Local underdog started POC ran business that invested lots of time and love into their venue!. They support the community of Oakland, the arts, music, and all cultures! They had amazing day and night time events! Trivia nights, karaoke nights, video game tournaments. Hosted events for Oakland youth, pride, and select private events! Not to mention they have some pretty amazing food! Ranging from Filipino to fried chicken and everything in between. They've supported their staff during COVID and tried to remain as open as possible following all guidelines throughout quarantine. If you want to have a quiet night out, host an event, take a dog on a walk, or just hang out and talk to pancho. This is the place to do it.

Yelp
Awesome third space. They definitely deserve a follow with so many different events going on. Food is better than expected and fair in pricing.

Yelp
I hella want to support this place but I left with a sour taste in my mouth. The bartender. Dude was simply rude, hella attitude for nothing. Just unhappy. Me and my friends watched him all night just being real rude. I get it, we all have our days--but damn?! I bought a round of margaritas for my girls and one spilled all over table as soon as I got there. So, I go back to get a refill (I assumed I had to pay for it ) the bartender approaches me and says with a nasty look on his face," I will only do this one time but I don't normally do this." He's rolling his eyes and everything. I'm buzzed and thinking if you're gonna be mad about it-shit then why give it to me?! I didn't ask for a free drink?! He assumed wrong. I was polite and smiled and said thank you very much and told him I really appreciate it and was genuinely thankful and walked away. The next day I look at my statement, I was charged for it! ‍ Just wanted to let him know if he's reading this, it's all good. I just don't appreciate the shade.
