Came here for our anniversary. It was very good. Steak was incredibly tender, sides are large portions and enough to pass around, and appetizer was great! We had the scallops wrapped in bacon. Creme brûlée was an extra special treat as well. The location is downtown however they offer complimentary valet parking which was so convenient. Definitely give this place a look if you’re on the search for an elegant night out to celebrate.

Love the atmosphere, joined late to the party and felt out of place. Service was subpar even though I did order an entree. Ribeye was cooked correctly but over salted. Steaks are a la carte and pricey. The crème brûlée was delicious. A friend ordered the prime rib and it was really good.

Google
All perfect. Man I miss staff who care about their jobs. This team was fantastic. Gladly tipped well for great knowledge and service. When was the last time you went to a restaurant and the staff accentuated the positives of the establishment? This is one of those places. The steak was awesome. We did a dry and wet aged at our table. The bone marrow appetizer dish….we had our doubts but it was amazingly good. Dessert was just a good as everything else. I know this place has a couple locations in different cities but it has all the feel of a classic steak house albeit with modern surroundings. 5 stars all around.

Google
AWESOME Service provided by Scott! Lucky Bucket was a great treat for the Prime Rib Sunday Supper! DEFINITELY recommend a Sunday Supper date night over a Friday/Saturday evening as I was able to comfortably talk to my AMAZING Wife and not need to talk over a LOUD table of 8+ nearby. Will DEFINITELY go there again (and again)!!

We were quickly accommodated as we showed up 90 minutes early. We were a party of 6 and 2 of us got seated at a beautiful table. Our other 4 friends bailed after 15 minutes and after we got our drinks. The staff was so kind to move the 2 of us to a booth to free up the larger table on a busy night. We felt horrible for hogging up the table but staff was super kind. As for the service, our waitress was amazing!!! Very descriptive, patient, and full of knowledge and recommendations. Very helpful. We had the crab cakes which are a must. My friend and I shared the off menu wagyu tomahawk and it was DELICIOUS. Definitely come back and try other 801 Chophouses!

This is still my favorite place to eat in Omaha! Best place to go for special occasions, or if you really want to impress someone. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there recently, and as usual the service was exceptional (we even got special menus with 'Happy Anniversary' printed on them!). The wait staff knows what they're doing and are attentive without being too intrusive. But the best thing about 801 is the food. It's the classic high-end steakhouse experience, where you order steaks, dressings, and side-dishes separately. Since my wife doesn't eat red meat she ordered the flounder, which was perfectly cooked and expertly paired with sauce and vegetables. My filet mignon was excellent, properly seared and at the exactly medium-rare as ordered. The butter and mushroom ragout was an excellent accompaniment, and the side dishes were also delicious and (importantly) the portions were not too large. We had creme brulee for dessert, which I think is the best I've ever had - the creme being the perfect balance of texture and rich flavor without being too sugary. The bar also knows what they're doing, as each cocktail we ordered was expertly balanced and flavorful, and we thoroughly enjoyed them - they also have my favorite martini - the Vesper - on the drinks menu! You do have to pay for this level and quality of service and dining, as our dinner for two ran just over $300, but it is absolutely worth the price, and we look forward to our next visit!

Yelp
We kicked off our first night in Omaha with steak -- because when in cattle country... you go big. I had about five reservations lined up (indecisive? maybe), but 801 Chophouse won out. It struck the perfect balance of high-end steakhouse experience and truly great meat. There are more "local" spots, but I was in the mood to lean fancy to start our family road trip right. And honestly? So glad I did. Service was excellent -- attentive, thoughtful, and totally on it. They even seated us near the bar, where a little train runs overhead. It was perfect for our kids, who were mesmerized. The food? Next level. We ordered several half sides to share: the boursin mashed potatoes and mac & cheese were kid-approved hits, and the sautéed mushrooms with boursin were my personal favorite. We also tried the signature loaded hash browns -- not the group favorite, but still fun to try. I got the petite filet, which was unreal. So tender, flavorful, perfect. My partner devoured the ribeye like he hadn't eaten in days (in a good way). It's technically a chain, but don't let that fool you -- this was a standout experience. Top-notch from start to finish, and I'm really glad this was the pick.

Yelp
First off this place was a last second book. We really wanted to try a different steak house but this one was available and had reservations open. My biggest gripe is their pricing compared to others in the area. They have higher prices compared to the rest. I ordered a ny steak, prime rib bites, crab cake, and lobster mac and cheese. All were good. My wife had a delmonico she shared with a friend of ours. She believes it was underseasoned. We ended dinner with 2 souffles for dessert, chocolate and orange. The orange didn't taste like orange and just tasted the same as the chocolate so not sure what was going on there. Had to knock it down 2 stars as their price cost way more for more traditional steak house food as compared to a second steak house we went to that had lower prices and maybe better tasting food.

Yelp
I asked Chat Gpt which steakhouse in Omaha would be best recommended to someone from Chicago. 801 was one of four locations to come up and after visiting, I gotta agree with AI. It was superb. Every detail of our dinner was perfection. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. Friendly and accommodating. I don't think I could have ordered anything I'd dislike at this restaurant, but I did go with the petite filets topped with scallop and shrimp. Cooked exactly as requested. I kid not when I say 801 uses the highest quality beef, as well as, aging them in house. Another reason we chose 801 was the appeal of their sides compared to other local steakhouses. The baked potato was huge and the creamed corn needs an honorable mention as it's all I've been dreaming about since. If you want a location to impress guests, or the most difficult critics - 801 will not let you down.

Yelp
First time at this restaurant while visiting in Omaha. We had a fantastic experience, our waitress was very knowledgeable about each cut of meat and explained them all. The food was great, I had the salmon and it was full of flavor! The meal was well paced, and we enjoyed our time very much.

Yelp
You're in Nebraska. You're in a state that raises lots of beef. So you expect great steaks. Sadly, there's only a few places that truly serve "great" steaks in Nebraska. 801 Chophouse at the Paxton is one of them. In fact, for me, it's right at the top of the list. When you arrive at the Paxton and enter the front lobby of 801 Chophouse you immediately realize that this place is about tradition, this place is about high class dining, and this place is about steak! As I usually do, I ordered their Wet Aged New York Strip, medium rare, seasoned only with salt and pepper. What I receive every time I order this is a thick cut (easily 1 1/2 inches or a bit more) of perfectly Prime Beef, seared to perfection on high heat, and served hot on a very warm plate. So many places fail on steak, because they cut it too thin, fail to sear it properly, and then throw it on a cold plate. It's the attention to these fine details that sets 801 Chophouse apart from most of the rest. Service is always very good. The servers at 801 know their menu, intimately, and can describe the preparation of every dish to assist you in your selections. They are trained to listen well, to be attentive, but not intrusive, and to focus on your enjoyment of the dining experience. This night was no exception. We added another one of our favorites - the crispy plate of hash browns with cheese and Haricot Verts with Onions. The Pan Seared Scallops, beautifully presented, were also buttery and excellent. Another great night at a GREAT steakhouse - 801 Chophouse at the Paxton!

Yelp
I came in with a group of 10, and we had reserved a small private room, which worked great for us. Our server was a long time back, and did a fantastic job, taking care of us. When I asked if there was an espresso martini on the menu, she said they can come up with one, and four of us ordered this and absolutely loved it! I am personally not a fan of high price steakhouses, as I'm not a huge steak connoisseur and can't justify the price take. This meal was good, but in my mind was not near worth the price tag that came along with it. I enjoyed the Spencer, which came with one piece of shrimp, and one scallop -- this was my favorite part by far! Steak was cooked pretty well, one perfectly medium rare, and the other about medium, when I ordered medium rare for my steak. The sides all tasted great, mac & cheese and creamed corn for our favorites. The absolute best taste, which was a worthwhile value in my mind was the cheesecake we got for dessert! This was fantastic, although I wouldn't come back for a stake meal here, I would definitely stop in for dessert and maybe a drink. Unfortunately, our server did overcharge us, as we tried to make things easier on her by paying with one ticket, and analyzing this the next morning at home. We were supposed to get a free dessert for the event we were celebrating, and this was charged on the ticket. There were other minor discrepancies. Not a huge deal, but I would recommend taking a look at your ticket before you cash out here.

Yelp
What a huge disappointment. With a beautiful restaurant downtown, staff dressed in green jackets reminiscent of yesteryear, and the extensive time and effort put into telling us all about the meat, the grill, and the aging process... I take no pleasure in saying that I've had a better steak at Texas Roadhouse. The steak was basically flavorless. I couldn't believe how underseasoned it was. I won't be receptive to explanations such as, "We don't use salt or pepper so the flavor of the dry-aged beef can shine through," because it simply did not. Parts of my steak were perfectly cooked; however, some parts were overcooked. I just can't say enough about how terrible the seared foie gras was. Like, how?! I love foie gras--I order it almost every time I see it on a menu. Who knew you could make it flavorless with the texture of the "chicken" in a Lean Pocket straight out of the microwave? Not me, that's for sure. The French fries came out hot and well-seasoned, but they weren't crispy all the way through. The carrot cake was good but would have been better without the caramel sauce all over it. I did enjoy my Old Fashioned--it had a pretty good kick to it without being unbalanced or tasting overly strong. The old-school steakhouse vibe is fun, but the overall dining experience was ruined by a loud table of underdressed and seemingly overserved guests who kept shouting and scream-laughing at their own hilariousness. Couple that with forgettable, overpriced, and poorly executed food, and you'll understand why my wife and I were so disappointed. At these prices, the list of better options for dining in Omaha is limited only by the number of establishments that are open.

Yelp
We just had the most amazing meal. We started with tuna tartare. The way it was prepared was delicious. My hubby & I ordered the prime rib & New York strip. We added the cognac butter w/ portobello mushrooms. Bar none, our steaks had to be the best we have ever had. For sides we had the French green beans & asparagus. For dessert we had crème brûlée. Dessert was the only was a very slight let down. It was prepared slightly differently than we expected. It was a more firm crème. I was really amazing meal. 10 out of 10. We will be back soon. Our server was David. He was very attentive. His recommendations were spot on. He made the experience just that much better.

Yelp
Amazing steaks and amazing service. I came on a Tuesday evening with 3 co-workers. There was plenty of seating available, but I heard it gets packed on the weekends. The dining room is large, with velvet booths and private rooms. The menu ranges from apps, meats, entrees, toppers, sides and dessert. They also bring fresh bread to start. I ordered a Ribeye medium on its own. It had great marbleization and fantastic flavor. The sides were incredible as well. Highly recommend the brocollini, mashed potatoes and the Brussel sprouts. The four of us were too full to finish our steaks and sides. The menu is on the pricey side, but can be worth is for a work meal or a nice night out.

Yelp
My mom loves 801, so we went for a nice dinner while we were in town. It was a nice restaurant and felt like a traditional steakhouse. The service was good, and the food was good, but I do feel like overall, it's overpriced. My favorite was the lobster mac n cheese, while my husband loved the au gratin potatoes. We grabbed a drink at the bar prior to our reservation during happy hour, and I will say that the grapefruit drink was SO good. I don't like grapefruit and I loved it.

Yelp
Went here for dinner on Friday night, and from the moment we walked in, everything was outstanding. Our server, Colleen N., made our night. She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure our glasses were never empty. The ambiance throughout the restaurant was inviting and comfortable, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing evening. The steaks were cooked to absolute perfection - tender, flavorful, and practically melted in our mouths. From start to finish, it was an exquisite experience, and I cant wait to return!

Yelp
My colleagues and I were in town this past weekend for a conference and were looking for a nice steakhouse to celebrate after the event. This place was excellent! Everything we hoped for. From the jumbo shrimp cocktail, to the filet mignon and broccolini to the GIANT cheesecake slice for dessert, we were in heaven. They put us in a small alcove to the left of the main bar which was quieter and much appreciated. We also had a tv across from our table which was a nice touch given that March madness finals were going on. While this place is certainly pretty high dollar for dinner, if budget is not a concern, then I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice evening in Omaha.

Kathy J.

Yelp
Superb! The food was excellent. The service was good but our server wasn't polished as I had expected. I would definitely go back there!

Yelp
A fantastic steak restaurant in a city full of great steak restaurants. Pricey, but better than anything I've had in Omaha. While you can go in shorts and a polo, we dressed up (suit for me, dress for my bride) and were not out of place. This is fine dining but not pretentious. Decor: This is not your 1970s restaurant that is dark and outdated. A beautiful interior that is comfortable and romantic. Entrance: Enter through the Paxton hotel doors. The 801 Tap Room is on the corner and is not the restaurant. Seeing us all dressed up, the Tap Room hostess showed us where the entrance was. (Durectly behind valet booth.) Drinks: An incredible selection of whisky, whiskey, and rye. Great Old Fashions. We did not try their beers or wines. The table next to us ordered an espresso martini, which looked interesting. Prices here were reasonable. (A+) First course: I ordered the lobster corn chowder, and it was the creamiest and tastiest soup I've had in a long time. My wife ordered the chophouse salad and raved about it. (A) Steaks: I ordered the 16oz ribeye, and she ordered a filet. Both came out perfectly cooked, well marbled, and was THE best steak I've had in Omaha. They offer Wagyu sreak at $34 per ounce with a 4 ounce minimum. We did not splurge that much. (A) Sides: Sides are family-style, large, and expensive. They were good. Not knowing they were so big, I got a loaded baked potato, and she got garlic mashed. I wisk we'd mixed it up. (B) Service: Service was generally good. It seemed better at other tables, but for some reason, the manager assigned our table to the bartender, which made the service slow. (C) Price: This is the reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. Our dinner here cost 2x as much as a similar (but inferior) meal at our other steak houses in Omaha charge. With tip and 2 drinks, it was over $300. I was a little surprised, but since we were celebrating, I was not doing math as we ordered. :) A fantastic experience, but one we'll likely reserve for our next big anniversary or major life event.

Yelp
Located on the outskirts of Old Market, the historical Paxton building hosts this steakhouse. Reservations are highly recommended, and you will get seated quickly. I enjoyed the salad and sourdough bread. The steak was aged well, but the scallops were on the salty side. Rhurbarb pie slices are homemade there, and the tadte is very succinct. Parking is easily found on the streets. Overall, it is a good selection for a Chophouse in Omaha, the steak capital of the country.

Yelp
The best steakhouse I have been to in a while! I found this place while traveling to the area for work and it did not disappoint! I had the best ribeye I've ever had and the bartender who served me was very friendly. A very cool place to go to! The bar was beautiful and has a huge wall of Ryes and Whiskeys.

Yelp
We came from out of town and wanted to eat steak in Omaha, so we chose this restaurant based on reviews. We really enjoyed our dinner here. The ambience is really nice. We sat at a table near the bar so we could enjoy happy hour. The kids (and me) enjoyed watching the little train chugging along around the bar. The drinks were good, I had a delicious grapefruit martini with a sugar rim, and I don't usually like grapefruit. The food was really delicious - crab cakes, lobster corn chowder, steak, lobster and shrimp pasta. I recommend all of them! Overall a great meal and night out. My son even left a nice review for the chef.

Julie W.

Yelp
Hands down best steakhouse in a city full of great steak. Service is old school and impeccable. Steak is sublime. The only catch is the cost-dinner will cost several hundred dollars for 2. We like to go on Sunday for their prie fixe menu. $62 gets you salad( highly recommend the wedge), 6 oz filet or prime tib and dessert.

Yelp
Amazing prime cut of beef. The production of the service is amazing. Take your time and enjoy all the historical imagery and ambience which adds to your goal of enjoying the highest quality of beef. Try the bone marrow too.

Yelp
Holy smokes folks. Omaha... Omaha... SET! Hut, hut. Get to 801 if you're in town. Kept it simple, 14-ounce New York (wet aged). Temperature was perfect medium rare plus. Seasoned perfectly. Light char. The surprise happiness arrived from a baked creamed spinach side. Wowzer. Ingredients: Grated Parmigiana cheese topper, finished under the broiler, soft and crispy amazingness. For the spinach goo, add flavors of Anissete Liqueur, Fennel Seed, definitely has fresh Garlic somewhere, a little salt and pepper. Diced Shallots. Then add the cream, which was reduced significantly (not a sloppy mess like most you'll have). I'm on the fence if this is the best creamed spinach I've ever had. Pappas Bros. in Texas a close second or maybe first. Service was outstanding. Senor Rick was amazing at the bar. I had the "don't put baby in the corner bar seat" and happy to have it. Run don't walk to the 801 Omaha. Tell Rick Del Mar Dave from LA sent you. Sorry about the bathroom pics but the Mens Room was spotless. Another old school move - ice in the urinals. I'll be back!

Ryan T.

Yelp
On a Friday night, I sat at the bar during happy hour. I ate the cheeseburger and fries and had two Lucky bucket beers. The two barkeepers were very professional and fund to watch their skills. The beer and burger were on point. However, the fries were soggy and not good. I couldn't finish them, so deducting a star for that. I am hoping that they try a different french fry supplier.

Yelp
Delicious food, excellent wait staff & guidance on different food selections. Even ordered a couple more meals to take home.

Victor L.

Yelp
From the onset the bartenders seemed overwhelmed and just strictly business! Not a friendly vibe at all! We were there with a party of 13 family members. Celebrating a graduation and retirement! The waitress also seemed overwhelmed! After the main course, tried to discourage us from ordering desert. Stated that they were busy and it would take a while. We ordered anyway. For the amount that we paid, with the 20 percent gratuity added up front! The staff being a bit more friendly would have made the experience worth the tab!!
google avatar

Miranda K.

Yelp
Food was delicious, however like other reviews mentioned, i do feel as though it was a bit overpriced. Service was good, but not as good as i would expect for the level of dining. Overall ambiance was good.

Yelp
We have gone to 801 Chophouse from the first opening & I am overjoyed it has become that classic upscale Steakhouse it deserves! I liked the Sunday eve special they offered & it was a hit with our friends also. It gets a bit pricy but the Bar serves the best Dirty Martini you will experience! Also feel like I am in Chicago when up at the bar. I know because we have a Condo there & it's a bit like " Gibsons"

Yelp
This is Omaha's best steakhouse, in my opinion. Definitely a step above mahogany with a lot more charm in the Paxton downtown. It's definitely a special occasion type place, unless you are sitting on some cash, as the price point is high. They have a large selection for steaks, both wet and dry aged, some sourced locally. The quality is phenomenal. If steak isn't your thing, the scallops are the best I've ever had. The staff is very educated on the menu and will take good care of you.

Thebugalito W.

Yelp
I think what makes a good steakhouse a GREAT steak house is the atmosphere, white tablecloths, high spirited staff and prices that cause heart failure. This is why the 801 Chop House is my #1. I went with my parents and girlfriend on my birthday. Someone pointed out to me that my name and b-day was printed out on the menus. AWESOME! The waiter asked how I want my steak prepared and I said medium well and w/o hesitation he snapped, "nope". If you don't see why that is funny well it's like going to one of these places and asking for ketchup on your steak. Ain't happening. We had the best time. I am not rich and I think it cost around $500 for 4 of us ($100 tip) so this is a once-a- year event for me so you have to go all out. Invite the most important people in your life, ask a pretty girl to join, get all dressed up and boozey filling up every inch of the place with smiles and laughter. It is special. It is important to make special memories. The world we live in that we all struggle with in our jobs, relationships, finances whatever isn't welcome inside this establishment and for a few hours nothing exists outside those walls.

Rick L.

Yelp
Food was amazing, the restaurant was great I loved the old school upscale steakhouse. The service was lacking, it was slow and our server was not attentive. The drinks were great, just order 2 at a time, very slow service bar. My expectations for a meal that expensive were definitely not met.
google avatar

Krystle K.

Yelp
The experience at this restaurant was good but it definitely should have been better for the money. When we walked in, it took a good 5 minutes before someone came to greet us even though the bartender saw us. When we were seated the service was slow, we had to ask for drink refills and the server was friendly but kind of aloof. For the cost of the bill I've had much better service elsewhere.
google avatar

Anthony C.

Yelp
Twice I've had the best steak ever here. Real A5 rated Great service great wine. Fine dining space mostly. Great seafood, stellar desserts. Was not expecting to find this great place or spend this much on excellent food in Omaha, if you like steak / seafood and got the money spend it here.
google avatar

Kathy D.

Yelp
Celebrated our dinner here! We got the surf and turf for two with bone marrow butter because why freaking not. Bone marrow anything is fantastic I'm shocked they even had this in omaha, definitely hard to come by. Highly recommend getting it! Our porterhouse steak was cooked to medium rare perfection, and our 2lbs lobster was exquisite 10/10. We got creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes 5/5, the potatoes was the best, the cream of spinach parm crust on top was magical but lightly seasoned 3/5 We got our celebratory dessert and it was amazing, the ambiance of the place was so romantic I love that Sarah our server was SO knowledgeable, up beat and so kind. Highly recommend coming here the steaks are USDA PRIME (kinda hard to come by, shockingly in omaha, NE)

Steve L.

Yelp
Ambaince was classic for a steakhouse! Waiter was one of the best we've ever had. The prime rip and filet mignon were two of the finest pieces of meat I've ever had the pleasure to eat.

Beth M.

Yelp
Food was good as always. We only go for very special occasions due to the prices. We go on Sunday from the Prix Fixe menu and this last time was the first time we were treated badly for it. When we informed the waitress that we wanted that menu she was visibly put off and grabbed the menus away with clear intent to let us know we were wasting her time. We treated and tipped her well and enjoyed the food but it would have tasted better without a side of attitude. We have since decided not to return. It was just too humiliating. We would not punish the entire restaurant for the attitude of one woman. The food is good but don't ask for the prix fixe on Sunday unless you want to eat with a lump in your throat.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I recently took a trip to Omaha and we heard that we had to get steak in Omaha. After doing some research on what steak places to go to I found 801 chophouse. The only thing I have is at 801 chophouse is inside of the Paxton hotel. We did not realize this, so was a little bit confusing when we first came in but once we found our way, it was amazing! All the staff are extremely accommodating, and very friendly. They asked if it was our first time here, and they made some recommendations as well as explained the meats. This was extremely helpful as someone who doesn't eat steak too often. The food came out super fast probably 10 minutes tops. And oh my god if you wanna mouthwatering steak, this is a place to go. It was delicious. The sides as well. We're so good. We both got the ribeye, medium rare and we shared scallop potatoes and brussels sprouts. The scallop potatoes are definitely something you need to get. Overall, we really enjoyed this beautiful restaurant and it's great for a fancy date night.
google avatar

Josh Y.

Yelp
Overrated. I went with a couple of meat lover friends and we got the Wagyu tomahawk ribeye and the filet along with various sides and desserts. The wagyu did not have the typical Wagyu flavor profile, and was somewhat disappointing. The filet was good, but not enough to overcome the disappointing wagyu. The bone marrow appetizer was fantastic, and the bread was fresh and great. And the wait staff was fantastic. But, the main course fell flat. This was supposed to be the number one steakhouse in Omaha, and we were disappointed. It was also very much priced at that level, priced more similar to a fancy restaurant in New York or San Francisco than Omaha.

Maria N.

Yelp
The service and ambiance were nice, but I was dissappointed with the food. Everything just tasted overwhelmingly of butter. For almost half a grand I expected something a little more wowing. If you want to save $499 just eat a stick of Land O Lakes and think real hard about surf n turf and you won't miss anything.
google avatar

Yelp
When in Omaha got to get a steak! Awesome service you would expect from a full service steakhouse. Boss wouldn't let me get the Wagu, next time maybe! 5 star quality. 5 star service.

Yelp
Went to the Paxton 801 for dinner after many years. Ambiance feels like old Nebraska era steakhouse. Vintage, well appointed wait staff and management. Timing for dinner before show at the Orpheum was perfect at 1hr 45 mins. Of the meal we shared my favorite dish was the calamari. It has finely cut and fried zucchini with large pieces of calamari perfectly crispy. Honestly that could have been the mean alone. The pasta was a bit spicy for my taste but it did mention spice in the description so fair enough. Had the soufflé for desert which takes 45 mins. The waitress offered it at the time of initial order so it was ready in a timely manner.

Leah R.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. It's definitely an expensive experience, but the food is always exceptionally good and prepared perfectly. On our most recent visit, my husband had the prime rib and I had the petite filet with the evening's special garlic butter mushrooms. Both our meals had great flavor, the meat was tender and cooked exactly as ordered. Great place for a special occasion or occasional fancy meal if you want to treat yourself.

Carly E.

Yelp
We were in town visiting from Portland OR, and this place absolutely knocked our socks off. I can't think of a time I have enjoyed a steak more, and I've eaten a lot of steak. It was so flavorful, and the sides were perfection. What really elevated our experience was our server JAKE, he was delightful and his recommendations were insane, I devoured a delicious not to sweet cocktail per Jake's recommendation and I don't usually drink! Everything about our night exceeded our expectations! Thank you Jake!

Yelp
This was a wonderful old school steak house experience. The bone marrow is a MUST have its rich flavor and plentiful portion was amazing. The service was exceptional as was the overall experience.

Yelp
Had a great dinner here with my work colleague. The server told us about the seared and cubed appetizer of the prime rib. Obvs we ordered. The idea of steak as an appetizer before more steak just made sense to us two dudes. We followed that up with a del Monaco bone in rib-eye and a side of asparagus. Lovely entree and side dish. I appreciated the simplicity of the asparagus but thought it could have had something to go with it as a side. Maybe some cheese? The steak was phenomenal. Cooked perfectly. Our server attended to every need and killed it. Did a great job. Would recommend to anyone coming to Omaha any time soon.

Yelp
Was brought here for a date and it was so good- got the porterhouse and it was right up there in my top five memorable steaks. Was cooked perfectly as ordered. Our server helped pick the perfect wine, I was seriously happy eating here.

Yelp
801 Chophouse came highly recommended, and I understand why. The bar has an outstanding collection of spirits especially whiskeys, and the bartenders are top notch. Great Old Fashioned. The Oysters Rockefeller were a great start. Rich and delicious with great pork belly bites. The bone in filet was excellent. Perfectly cooked and one of the best steaks I've had. Hope to be back in Omaha and at 801 Chophouse soon - at least next June!

Yelp
This was my first time at 801 Chophouse with high expectations and excited to try something new and pricey! We ordered a filet, ribeye and a New York Strip, along with 1 pound baked potato, broccolini, scalloped potatoes, Mac and cheese with Lobster. The food arrived and we cut into our steaks. The steaks arrived under cooked to medium rare vs. Medium. We tried our sides and they were not hot but cool to warm, "all" of them! We waited for a few minutes to get our waitress and told her the issue. She gathers all items and said sorry about this. The manager came by and said it would be about 6 minutes before it would be ready. The food arrived again and the steaks were the "same" steak we sent back but reheated and now burnt, "Black" on the outside and the "same" sides they took back that were cold and they reheated them! Sound crazy, I was disappointed again! The other steak comes out and is medium rare and not medium, it was mooing! Bloody! The manager looks like oh no. Now the 4th try!! He brings back the the steak and it's right, medium! The enjoyment eating together did not happen since we had to wait for my wife's 4th try on the filet steak. The manager said he would comp her steak of $66.00. Our check arrived and it showed 2 steaks comp! I thought great. However, the 2nd steak they rang up was the burnt steak they missed up and shows a comp. They show a charge on the receipt or the 4th steak. Totally misleading in the receipt. For a high end steak house and pricey food this was a big disappointment!!! Skip this place and go to J Gilbert's for a better experience and great steak!

Yelp
If you want to go out for a special occasion this is the place you're looking for to celebrate! The food is AH-MAZING and the service is impeccable. The setting of the restaurant has an old Omaha theme with pictures of the stockyards and trains. It's welcoming and relaxing. I wouldn't recommend bringing your kids here because it is very expensive but it's the perfect steak date night spot.

Yelp
10 stars! I came here for a celebration, and let me tell you, everyone made this celebration so special for me every step of the way. From beginning to end, the service was wonderful and the food was perfect! Yes, perfect. My husband and I got here early and sat at the bar for one drink. As we waited, we chatted with the bartender and hungout. Once we were seated, we were greated by our server. We got a bottle of wine or two! The mussels were a great start to the meal, but my entree is the star of the show. I got the 6oz Waygu cooked a medium rare. It was PERFECT. You even get a certificate that shows its authenticity. My husband ordered the ribeye. The sides were scalloped potatoes and lobster mac and cheese. Each bite of the mac and cheese had a decent piece of lobster which isn't normal. I would presume the manager walked by and asked if we were celebrating. I said "yes, I accepted a new job that is a big move in my career." As my dessert arrived, there was a note that said "congratulations" with my cheesecake. It was a nice touch to an end of a great dinner. I talk so highly about this restaurant to everyone! Overall, wonderful food and service.

Yelp
Elegant choice for a business dinner or date night. My husband enjoys their steak but I equally enjoy their extensive list of sides and non-steak options. Mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese and Brussels sprouts are highlights for the sides. Excellent spot for date night happy hour. Polite & attentive service.

Yelp
How have I not reviewed this yet?!? What first got us here was the Blue Cheese Potatoes. As fans of blue cheese, we had to try them...and they were as awesome as cream and cheese covered potatoes sound. They offer wet and dry aged steaks; we've never had a bad or even okay cut here, all were great. Our last visit we had a prime rib cut. It was extremely tender with an Au jus saltiness and crisp horseradish taste. The surprise dish for me was the Beef Carpaccio. I always wanted to try it and figured it'd be okay but it's one of my faves of all time now. I order it every time, even my chicken-strip-loving daughter loved it. This last time we got a new cocktail, Nearest and Dearest. It's a bourbon whiskey drink with a chocolate covered cherry and lemon wedge (partially drank in photo, sorry, lol). My husband was surprised once he ate the cherry as we both thought it was a typical cocktail cherry and he let me have the second drinks cherry. It was amazing how the little semi-sweet chocolate really brought the sweetness in the drink out. They did also offer a three course kids meal for $20. The items were kid-oriented but the tastes were vibrant. The broccoli and cheese sauce (thick, creamy cheddar) was the first thing my young son ate. Our last meal for two kids and two adults was ~$180 before tip. Not an everyday place but I'm excited to go back again soon.
