The Best Seafood Restaurants in Minneapolis and St. Paul | Eater Twin Cities

"For a glam downtown seafood dinner, this is the place. 801 Fish, which also has locations in St. Louis and Denver, emulates the swanky 801 Chophouse vibe, swapping out big steaks for caviar-crowned oysters, shrimp cocktails, Maryland crab cakes, and whole grilled branzino. The lobster fried rice is popular here, too." - Eater Staff

Because nothing says “I crushed 18 holes” like crushing an entire seafood restaurant afterward. It’s #stlouispescatarianapproved, which obviously means: one of everything, please and thank you. Oysters were Slurped. Crab cakes were gone in sixty seconds. Lobster Mac was attacked. And the sea bass didn’t stand a chance either. Oh, and I got fries for dessert. These girls came to eat, not to putt. If you’re not leaving 801 Fish full, happy, and slightly smug about your taste in food, you’re doing it wrong. Shenanigans on.

Google
The food was tasty. I had the seebass, and she had the salmon. Both plates were good but a little inflated on pricing. From our experiences, we're just used to getting a higher level of food for those prices. But overall the food was good and the service was descent.

Google
We celebrated our Valentines Day early and WOW this place blew us away! We had 2 appetizers: the Spanish octopus and the crab cake! Then my girlfriend had the scallops, I had the branzino and we shared the lobster mac and cheese & the lobster bisque! Every course was just as amazing as the one before! Not to mention so beautifully presented! Our server (Jacob) was excellent! So pleasant & made our experience enjoyable! Plus the atmosphere is beautiful! Probably one of the best meals at any restaurant I’ve had in St. Louis!

We enjoyed an incredible evening at 801 Fish, conveniently located right across from our hotel. The menu was a seafood lover’s dream—we savored chowder, fresh oysters, luxurious caviar, a perfectly cooked filet topped with lobster, massive king crab legs, Royal Osetra caviar, creamy clam chowder, and tender Spanish octopus. Every dish was absolutely sublime, showcasing the restaurant’s mastery of seafood. Our waiter was attentive and efficient, ensuring we felt pampered and satisfied throughout the night. A truly memorable dining experience!

Celebrated my friend's birthday tonight. It was a very good experience; it was my first time here. The manager made it his business to check on us and ensure we were comfortable and that everything was good several times. Thank you. Happy birthday, Natisha.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - “Maybe the best experience I’ve had in St. Louis” Service 🙋‍♂️ Hailey, our server, made our anniversary dinner unforgettable. Her attention to detail, warm demeanor, and impeccable timing took the service to a new level. She made us feel special throughout the night, from perfectly pacing the dishes to her thorough knowledge of the menu. It’s clear she goes above and beyond, making what would be fantastic service on any regular day, even more extraordinary for a special occasion. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Decor 🎨 The decor at 801 Fish surprised me with its understated elegance. Given the restaurant’s reputation and price point, I expected something more extravagant, but it works in its favor. The maritime feel is subtle and classy, not overdone with nautical themes. The natural light during the day may have softened the ambiance, but even then, the restaurant’s beauty shines through. I can imagine the atmosphere taking on a magical quality once the sun goes down and the lighting takes over. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Food 🍽️ I’ve never been one to gravitate toward fish, but 801 Fish may have changed that for me. We started with the Spanish Octopus—delicious and perfectly balanced with pickled onions (my favorite)—and the Flash Fried Brussels Sprouts, which were hands down some of the best I’ve ever had. For our entrees, I had the Alaskan Halibut, while my girlfriend opted for the Grilled Swordfish. I’ll admit, her dish was the winner! Both were expertly cooked, but her swordfish was on another level. The meal was so good it’s got me rethinking my usual preferences for poultry and red meat. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 In Retrospect 🤔 Reflecting on our night, 801 Fish has set the bar high for fine dining in St. Louis. From the top-notch service to the perfectly prepared dishes, this restaurant delivered an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just want a fantastic meal, I highly recommend 801 Fish. It’s now officially my favorite spot in the city. Final Verdict: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - “Great” Catchy One-Liner: “801 Fish delivers unforgettable flavors, impeccable service, and an ambiance that makes every visit special.

Google
Great place to gather for happy hour or dinner. Right in the heart of Clayton. Really did happy hour and appetizers not dinner. The drinks were great and the food was great. Very elegant place that feels very nice. Service was excellent as might be expected

Google
Had a great meal. We went on a Monday. Would return more often if they some good fish entrees with better price points. We had 2 appetizers, crab cakes and octopus- both very good. We had 4 entrees, 5 drinks, 1 side (lobster mac and cheese) and 2 desserts. Cost with tip $490. Halibut was yummy.

Yelp
Family and I went here for graduation dinner. We ordered around 36 oysters (not all pictured) - there were plenty of varieties to try! - lobster and steak were perfectly cooked. -clam linguine was soooooo good and creamy. -mussels were very good and is a must try! - pistachio tiramisu with the dark chocolate melts in your mouth. - the vanilla bean cheese cake was soft with a hint of tartness The ambiance was beautiful and a perfect place to celebrate/ have a high end date night. Service - the team was so professional and knew their menu so well. It was very clear that the team understood their menu and food profile to make appropriate recommendations

Yelp
The restaurant is done up with modern touches and a coastal theme It lets you know it's going to be pricey but doesn't guarantee its worth it. Our cocktails, with fun, ocean themed names, were decent. My beet salad was sized for multiple diners but the white beets had an odd taste. Despite thoroughly reading menu, choosing an entree that did not list any gluten items, the waiter writing gluten free on my order, my entree came on a bed of couscous. They remade it but it delayed our overall dinner. One of my dining companions ordered the linguini and clams only to be told they were out of clams. AND linguini. He changed to a Chilean sea bass that came on a bed of rather unappetizing bed of spinach. He was disappointed; it's just fish, nothing special. My side of Brussels sprouts were the best thing of my meal. Everything had nuts. not all dishes list the nuts the apply with such a heavy hand. If you're allergic to nuts, or any food allergies, beware. After sitting awhile, we were asked if we wanted to take the rest of our dinners home; we did. They clear our plates only to come back a few minutes later to say they had thrown out my remaining half entree of scallops. Offered to remake a half order or a gift card. I took the gift card bc we were tired of sitting there. I'm not sure I'll use the gift card unless it's for a cocktail and the brussel sprouts...but parking is terrible so I'm not sure when I'll be inclined.

Yelp
I ordered the swordfish and it was awful. It had some kind of red veining in it. I had one bite and took the rest home and threw it away, I can't send food back. But I am not going back there. They used to have a menu I loved but it changed and I haven't liked it since. It's so pretty and happy inside. Especially the bar area

Yelp
Birthday celebration, love the oysters, so smooth and so many options. Asked the waiter to come up with a dozen of his personal favorites. All of them were very good. The calamari was a hit! And the Bronzino is delicious, with Thai like sauce, gives you the texture and a little sour kick. Ordered their whiskey sour and espresso martini, the whisky sour wins all the way. The espresso martini was a miss, it didn't blend well and not enough foam on the top. The Mac and cheese was surprisingly tasty! Not a usual fan of Mac n cheese but definitely loved this! Will come back again and try some other options!

Yelp
went for a birthday dinner and WOW everything was so good the food was delicious and I was surprised there were a few Asian/asian-fusion dishes. The Japanese milk bread was amazing. Service was good. Food came out really fast but we also came around 4:30 so it was early for dinner. The restaurant was beautiful and clean with hints of blue everywhere. There's more seating for smaller parties but there are a few tables for bigger groups like ours of 6 but I didn't see anything for BIG parties. There's free parking across the street but there was also valet available.

Yelp
The food here is fantastic and the servers are always friendly. The best dishes are the oysters, tuna tartare, lobster fried rice, and king crab legs.
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night around 5:30 and it wasn't full at all. They have tons of seats, great service, huge area so unless they are slammed you'll get a nice private dinner without too many people around. Food was awesome, we ordered a few apps and 2 main courses. Fish was cooked beautifully and seasoned well. A little pricey but I would guess that's from them flying in fresh fish everyday.

Yelp
Located by the university, it's a cool area. It's like another downtown area and driving in, there are beautiful homes in the surrounding area. It's a bit challenging to park but I found a spot and headed into the bar. After a quick round, we headed to the dining room. Tables were spaced so you could have table conversation and there were lots of things to try on the menu. I should have stuck with seafood, because my pasta was a little overcooked. But all in all, I think this was a great place and service was great.

Yelp
DELICIOUS. Swordfish special was amazing. Large piece of fish pan seared with panco and bread crumbs. Asparagus was so charred and flavourful. Also enjoyed the sweet petite oysters from MA! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
801 Fish has always been my favorite secret hidden gem. It is pricey, but worth every penny!! Anything you choose from the menu is going to be fresh and delicious! My favorites are the crab legs that's already shelved, the lobster fried rice I add three shrimp, extra egg and extra lobster. The sushi is fresh and good too. I hope Chef Tyler is getting the credit that's due to him! I always look forward to peeking behind the bar and get a glimpse of him in action!

Wes S.

Yelp
Food is ok, service is terrible. I have now been there twice on different days and it takes forever to get your food. Will not go back again

Yelp
We dined here for the first time for a romantic dinner. We were pleasantly surprised! The ambiance was very nice and comfortable. The dining room was very spacious and decorated in a charming way. Our wait staff was impeccable in every way. He was knew the menu very well and explained how the entrees were prepared. He made us feel so welcome and pampered. My entree was the alaskan halibut, which was very moist and tender with a bunch of flavor. The flash fried brussel sprouts were delicious as well as the the lobster fried rice. I had a negroni, which was delicious as well. I thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. There is the big ticket factor, however, we will return.

Petrov P.

Yelp
Service was downright terrible, which is disappointing because last time I was here our server was great and the food was great. Ordered octopus, it was completely overcooked and inedible, which for a near 30$ appetizer, is disappointing. Our drinks were good. Kalimari was good. I can understand that sometimes slip ups happen, but when it takes the place an hour to even ask you if you want to order mains, and water gets refilled right as you leave, it's hard to be understanding. On top of that, our waiter was passive aggressive, along with completely ignoring us most of the night. When asked to relight a candle at our table, he was visibly annoyed and indicated "whatever makes you happy". Very disappointing, and chose to go elsewhere to finish out the night where service was staggeringly better. At these prices, you need to do way better with service and food, and attitude. Safe to say I will not be coming back and will recommend the same to anyone interested.

Yelp
801 Fish has been on a downhill slide that coincided with the new chef in the last year. What did he do? (1) Eliminated bread service. (2) Eliminated the wedge salad and a second salad that were both staples. (3) Eliminated the fries with bay seasoning and baked potatoes, replaced them with an amorphous pile of fingerling potatoes. (4) The brandy peppercorn sauce for steaks looks like vomit and doesn't taste much better. No real chef would put this out! Now about the service which has been in steep decline. One server there is very arrogant, lacks warmth and is very cold and standoffish. Our server last time was nowhere to be seen and I finally asked another server to take our order for cocktails and food. The seafood has been consistently good but everything else, not so much. Others have taken note because now I receive regular offers and discounts from 801 Fish to fill the place. Instead, replace the chef and return the items that you had in the menu, retrain staff on service and hospitality.

Yelp
Celebrate our two year anniversary here in December and it was amazing. We started with cocktails- the grapefruit one was incredible and made me feel like I was on an island. The oysters were so fresh and tasty. Special shoutout to the lobster fried rice and bisque as well. We also got a steak which was just as good as 801 chop. Will definitely come back! Also- the place is stunning and feels like you're underwater.

Yelp
I appreciated the interior design and the roominess of the booths. We were a party of 4. I'm pescatarian, so the menu had a rich variety of both fish and seafood options. Even my teenage children, who are not fish eaters, found meat options to enjoy with french fries/frites. The plating was thoughtful. Visually compelling. And the portions were fair, if not generous. The food is expensive, but I felt like I was paying for more than a "taste." And the prices are comparable to what you would expect in Clayton. The manager was our server, and did a good job explaining our options. And I received a free dessert because it was a birthday dinner. A very positive experience.

Moved from Chicago to the country! Really miss fine dining like 801 Fish. Friendly staff. Top notch dinner! Very clean restaurant and enjoyable atmosphere!

Yelp
801 Fish blew us away. The food was delectable, the atmosphere was chic and luxurious, and the service was super friendly and attentive. Here's what we tried: Fresh East Coast Oysters: 9/10 - Tried 6 different ones. You really can't go wrong. Super fresh and taste like the sea. Came with a wonderful mignonette. Tuna Tartare: 7.5/10 - I loved the fact that there was spicy mayo on it, as it added flavor and kick, the only thing is that aesthetically I'm not sure the ring is the best way to plate this. I would also hope for the tuna to be a little bit more chunky rather than pasty. Lobster Mac: 10/10 - The choice of cheese here was perfection, and the lobster chunks came through with flavor. Such a rich side, and absolutely incredible. A showstopper for sure. Sea Bass: 9/10 - The fish was cooked to perfection, with a paper thin, crispy skin and flaky soft inside. The mushrooms and black garlic added an awesome umami while the kimchi added a vinegariness that cut through in just the right away. Scallops: 10/10 - Melted in the mouth, tasted like butter. I just had a few bites and was still in awe. Wow. Hazelnut Mousse: 11/10 - Somehow, the pairing of the hazelnut flavor with the hard, smooth texture was mind blowing. We LOVED it. While it was hard to cut through with a spoon, the work was worth it. The hazelnut flavor is light yet prominent, and the whipped topping is a perfect airy contrast to the denser mousse below. Flourless Chocolate Cake: 9/10 - So rich, so chocolatey, so divine. Nearly perfect chocolate cake, and beyond fudgy. If you like chocolate, you will love this. The esspresso cream was a fun add as well. SUPER great option for a splurge night out, when you want to be fancy and eat good.

Yelp
Clayton restaurant week. First of all great menu.. salmon, mahi, scallops we tried them all. Delicious! Nice to see a place who doesn't skimp quality during the restaurant week...you can still work on quantity maybe... very very smalll but delicious. Great for a small appetite like mine but prob more challenging for a reg to big eater. For the price and size it maybe smarter to get a huge swordfish reg price. Beet salad 10/10.. service-she was amazing, food coming out was very slow for 5:30. The sides were kinda just blah tho dessert was amazing.. only suggestion would be keep the sides simple and have some gf options.

Yelp
Food came out a little slow but it was Valentine's Day so it was to be expected. But the food was fantastic, and drinks were nice. It's been a couple yrs since we had last visited the restaurant and everything was just as we remembered. Great atmosphere and pleasing to the eye.

Yelp
The service, food, and ambience were top notch. Their fillet is the second best fillet I've ever had in my life

Maria G.

Yelp
We went to 801 Fish for Valentine's Day. It was not a good Valentine's Day experience. We had a horrible waiter, BARB, he made me feel very uncomfortable as a minority person. As if did not want to wait on us. Barb acted like he was irritated the whole evening. Not attentive at all to our needs. We have been to 80 one fish plenty of times with great service but this time it really wasn't a good service. I do recommend it but not that waiter. The food is superb. I always enjoy my food there and the desserts are so delightful.

Yelp
Y'all!!! I think I found the best crab cake in STL!!!!! 801 Fish was phenomenal! I love a simple yummy crab cake with lots of delicate jumbo lump crab and very little filler. 801 Fish delivered just that! When the ingredients are high quality, you can definitely tell. I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with my bestie and indulging in lots of great wine and elite cuisine. The service was wonderful and the entire restaurant was so nice with white linens on each table and perfect lighting! I can't wait to visit again to get more of the deliciousness they offer. I highly recccomend this restaurant! Here's what we got: Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail - The shrimp was huge! I was completely blown away by how delicious thecocktaill sauce was. New England Clam Chowder - Velvety and creamy! Loaded with just the right amount of clams, bacon, chives, and potatoes. Little Gem Salad- Green goddess dressing, crispy pancetta, Murcia al vino, and shreaded cured egg yolk. Soooo delicious and the presentation was so beautiful! Maryland Jumbo Lump Crab Cake- We both ordered this!!! It was pure perfection! Like I said, one of the best I've had! . Lots of sauvignon blanc and roséThe wine selection is insane! I loved this restaurant

Yelp
What a great place to celebrate. My niece chose this place to celebrate her 18th birthday. What a good choice! The place was bright and welcoming and not too loud. We were greeted at the door and checked our coats (can't recall the last time I did that or even had the option). Then we were escorted to our table. While we waited for the rest of our party, Nate gave us the menus and water. He was the perfect host for the evening. The rest of the group showed up, seated, and after a few minutes ordered. There were good off-the-menu options but the menu had options we chose instead. Nate brought out some bread and a bottle of wine. The place was starting to fill but never seemed crowded or to loud. We could all talk and hear around the table. The food came out and looked and smelled wonderful. Folks dug in quicker than I could get photos! I had the Salmon while others adventured toward lobster, clams, and more. Absolutely no one had anything but praise for what they ordered. Nate kept the waters filled and wine glasses topped off. It was a wonderful meal. We did have space for dessert and ordered a few creme brulees to share. My father-in-law got ice cream (three scoops each a different flavor). There was nothing but empty bowls and plates at the end of the meal. The coat check worked perfect and even got a voucher for parking in the garage. Nate was a wonderful server, food was perfect, place was enjoyable. I suspect we don't be waiting for a special occasion to head back.

Yelp
801 Fish is overpriced. I assume it's overpriced because of the location and also because of the freshness of the fish. The food itself is ok. The shrimp & shishito tempura was mostly breading, no seasoning, and overcooked. The brussels sprouts were good, the mussels were delicious. The sauce the mussels came in was nice and well-seasoned. The drinks were good but definitely not necessary to be $16 - $18 dollars for an 8oz cup that was mostly ice or a huge ice cube. The entrees were good. The Blue Snapper and the halibut were tasty, slightly overcooked. The garnish was nice as well. to pay $40- $50 for a smedium-size fish was overpriced. Our server, Robin was great. She had great knowledge of the dishes and made good recommendations based on the menu. She was attentive and made sure we were doing well throughout our meal. She was friendly and made pleasant conversation. Our food came out in good timing, and the hostess was nice. I am grateful they validate parking. They do have valet service. The restaurant itself is a nice place. Loved the decor and the ambiance. The music was a nice touch. This is my second time coming to 801 Fish and I can say its an ok experience.

Yelp
My friend and I enjoyed a really pleasant happy hour at 801 Fish last night. We each had a Willamette Valley Pinot for half the usual price ($9--a steal!) and shared an order of fish tacos and shishito peppers. The service was attentive without being intrusive. We arrived early and were able to snag a cozy booth. The atmosphere is elegant without being stuffy. Fun vibe. I'd definitely like to return to have a full meal.

Yelp
Went for a friend's birthday with a party of 8. The oyster bar area is a nice touch to the look. I had the Cioppino which I had never had before but was awesome especially the Barramundi. Birthday boy had a filet mignon w lobster tail addition which looked great. The Rockefellers were amazing. Would order more next time. Didn't get to taste the scallops but they looked perfect. The restaurant gifted the birthday boy with a cheesecake which I got a bite of. It was great. I was disappointed in the lobster Mac n cheese as it was bland. The cold fashioned was good and the cube had a fish imprinted on it, nice touch. Our waitress was the perfect blend of attentiveness but also giving our party space to enjoy the food, drinks and company.

Yelp
What a wonderful Chef!!! I was concerned about eating oysters for the first time.....so Executive Chef Hugo brought out his favorite oysters and reassured me I had nothing to worry about. He even showed me how to eat them. I always have an amazing experience at this restaurant, but tonight was spectacular!! I will be forever grateful for being made to feel so special. He also gave me a tutorial on where and where not to eat them when I travel. One of the best meals Ive ever had. Fresh, delicious food, and unbelievable service. If you've never had an oyster, come here and ask for Hugo to teach you! We also had tempura shrimp, caviar, salmon, and lobster fried rice. Every bite was delicious!

Yelp
Great meal and service on a terrible weather night. Very convenient to Ritz Carlton.

Yelp
They're still doing $2 signature oysters on Thursdays!  These are some of the finest oysters around, clean and fresh.  Service here is consistently good, as well as the food. The inside is beautifully decorated and there is a giant fish art hanging near the entrance in the dining room.  If you want to split anything (salad, soup, entree, etc) with your dining companion, they are very accommodating and do a great job of making two dish out of one. Beet Salad $15 - On the Specials menu. Come with red and yellow beets, served with arugula, goat cheese and delicious vinaigrette. Chilean Seabass $50 - This is my favorite dish here.  The crust on this fish is amazingly crispy and tasty! Flash Fried Brussels Sprouts $13 - The last batch I got of these, the Brussels sprouts were giant and some of them were under done. The ones that were charred were outstanding. Thai Style Mussels $19 - Yum!  The coconut lime broth should come with a straw. Tuna Tartare $25 - Can't go wrong with this appetizer. Gumbo Bowl $15 - Rich and flavorful gumbo. Iceberg Wedge Salad $12 - Simple salad with good dressing (similar to thousand island). Mac and Cheese $12 - Creamy and rich, it does not disappoint. Lobster Fried Rice $18 - I had high expectations for this side dish, and although it was good, it wasn't memorable. They validate parking for the parking garage next door. .|\---/| | o_o | .\_^_/..2022

Yelp
So I already LOVE 801 Fish! But their happy hour is one of my absolute favorite happy hours!! If you find a seat at the bar you might be in happy hour heaven! My fave is their fish tacos and their grilled oysters!!! But I don't think there is anything in their menu that is a bad choice!

Yelp
An always amazing ambiance with diverse recipes and consistent faves available too. My wife and I love to come here and still have plenty of things to try that we haven't had yet.

Yelp
A great fine dining experience. With a menu with a wide variety and great signature cocktails. Came here right before the symphony. Service is great but not fast so I wouldn't have strict plans after. I definitely recommend the lobster fried rice and Mac which are shareable size plates.
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
We were here for a dinner party. The food was delicious. Started with the oysters on the half shell. Best I've had. Not the typical ones from the Gulf. These were a different variety. Tasty. Then I had the gumbo followed by the halibut. Halibut was cooked perfectly. Gumbo was the best. Finished with a baked Alaska. It was huge, but I finished it all. Great service too. This was one of the best seafood restaurants I've been to.

Yelp
I celebrated my 25th birthday here and I am so glad I did! I wish I could have taken more pictures but I was too busy digging in! The servers were amazing, helpful & friendly. The atmosphere was absolutely luxurious, and clean! The food was delicious as well! I ordered the swordfish platter, seen below. Fish was thick and juicy, green beans were fresh & firm(not as tender as I like) & the potatoes were amazing! Their lobster fried rice was moist and flavorful & I even had the pleasure of trying caviar for the first time! I definitely will be making a trip here again! Almost forgot, the turtle baked Alaska was SENSATIONAL!! Rich, creamy, decadent and the perfect amount of sweet! Caramel drizzled down a mountain of whipped cream, blanketed over caramel ice cream & a chocolate cookie, WHEW!!!

Tom T.

Yelp
5 out of 10 average on all counts. Some better, some worse. I have nothing more to say. I sent a review directly to the restaurant.

Yelp
We dined here tonight to celebrate our anniversaries, with my sister & BIL. The food was excellent & the service was amazing. I don't remember our waters name, (but he had a Full beard!) but he did a great job. He was attentive, personable & knowledgeable about the entire menu. Our party had: VC & Cava, dirty martini & Moscow mule for drinks, Caesar salad, the filet, halibut & scallops for dinner & we shared the cheesecake, torte & crème brûlée for dessert. Everything was exceptional! The filet was the best I've ever had. Though the restaurant is pricey, I felt that it was worth every penny. Our valet was also super friendly & professional. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Yelp
I love this place so much so that I always get the same food to eat. We had reservations but chose to sit at the bar. It was my birthday dinner so we ordered a bottle of wine to celebrate. A little bread and butter to take off the edge. Then we got down to business. He started with the clam chowder and I started with a dozen oysters on the half shell. I always get their oysters because they are so delicious. Onto the next course. He went with the lobster tail risotto. I of course went with the tuna tartar. His risotto came with a full lobster tail on it. He said it was wonderful. I was too intent focusing on my tuna tartare. My plan was that if I was still hungry, I would get another order of the tuna tartare. Unfortunately, I was some what full. But not too full to not order dessert. We shared the apple crisp. They even had a lit candle in it for my birthday. The crisp came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. It was so good I wanted to lick the dish. Would I come back here? Yes, there is more tuna tartare with my name on it. If you see me there, stop by and say hello.

Yelp
As seafood maniacs, when my fiancé and I want a date night we know won't disappoint, we go to 801 Fish. We were in Friday night and wanted a variety so we stuck with small plates for the night with some of our favorites. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu but our favorites include the tuna tartare, jumbo shrimp cocktail (they don't currently have crab cocktail due to supply issues), hush puppies and crab cake. We also got the calamari and mussels which are excellent as well. We always get the brussels sprouts - they roast them to perfection and smack them with salty umami flavor. The clam chowder was creamy heaven and my fiancé enjoyed his gumbo as well. Always get dessert at 801 - they had seasonal pumpkin cheesecake that was to die for! 801 Fish always serves up great drinks and some of the highest quality seafood in the city. The menu isn't crazy innovative, but they do the classics and they do them well.

Yelp
The ahi tuna tartare was amazing. I loved the Onaga snapper as well. Brussels and lobster fried rice were to die for Our server was super informative. Best meal I've had in years!

Yelp
801 Fish offers amazing appetizer options for happy hour. I tried the grilled oyster, fish taco and jumbo shrimp. All three were delicious but the true star were the jumbo shrimps which were huuuuge and delicious!

Yelp
801 Fish is PHENOMENAL. They claim to offer the freshest seafood in STL--preparing it within 36 hours of being caught. The service is exceptional and the entire menu is/looks delicious. The sides are family style so make sure to split those with the table. The atmosphere is great. Will be recommending to all my friends.

Yelp
Martel is a fabulous and charming server! His attention to detail and professionalism was outstanding! He knew the menu inside and out and made great recommendations. He only works one day a week, so if you are looking for a perfect dining experience, visit him on a Saturday evening. 801 Fish has delicious food and atmosphere. Had a cocktail at the bar while waiting for our table. Bartenders were not the warmest in the business but did make yummy cocktails. 5 restaurant and experience! We'll be back!

Yelp
This was hands down some of the best food I have ever had. As a culinary graduate, I have a keen eye for solid food. The food was so hot when it got to the table, I had to let it cool off for a bit, the fish was incredibly moist and tender. There was so much lobster in the fried rice, my partners swordfish was also absolutely delicious! For reference; for this and 3 drinks..after tip came to about $260, which I thought was a great live! The service was absolutely amazing, she was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and answered all of our questions! Very welcoming atmosphere for being such a nice place, hands down our new favorite place and we can't wait to come back!
