"It’s pretty easy to spend a lot of money in Maui eating in places exclusively for the sunset. So when you want somewhere that’s more affordable, head to 808 On Main, one of our favorite lunch spots on the island. All their sandwiches and paninis, like the Red Rooster with turkey, bacon and Sriracha aioli, are under $15 and you can get them with a margarita or one of their “beer and a shot” combos. The one thing you can’t miss here is their freshly-made pudding - with options like banana, chocolate peanut butter, Snickers, and pistachio. Plus, Happy Hour specials like Margarita Monday and Wing Wednesday will help save room in the vacation budget for that zipline tour or snuba adventure you’ve been eyeing." - Leah Ponichtera

I ordered the hot turkey panini with cream of broccoli soup. Everything was perfect. Great taste and pairing. The music faded softly as the breeze swept nice aroma through the air. Space is perfect for small or large groups. I chose seating close to the outside to enjoy both views.

The former Bistro On Main and 808 On Main is now 808 Old Town. ATMOSPHERE: Not much has changed, sans for maybe new furniture? Even then I'm not 100% positive. The space is an old building with high ceilings, no a/c, and awning-style windows. A small room at the front can be used for private dining, and features high tops and counter seating that looks out to the sidewalk & street. Oddly, there is no bar, yet they have an extensive bar menu. The rest of the space is filled with regular tables. Restrooms are located in the building next door, accessible with a communal key. FOOD: Kimchi Hummus It sounds odd, but was really tasty! I guess it's traditional hummus, but they mix in kimchi, which turns the dip orange, and lifts the ho-hum hummus to a whole other level in the flavor department. Spice rating is a 1 on a 5 scale, very mild. Toasted and chewy pita triangles are used for dipping. Highly recommended. Spicy Chicken Wings Unfortunately they were all drumette pieces, no wingettes. Boo! Spice level is a 3 on a 5 scale, and overall was a bit dry. Classic Cheeseburger This was my spouse's dish. The single bite I had was so disappointing, as the thick-formed patty was chewy and mushy because it was underdone, and didn't have much flavor. The fries were warm and crispy, though I've had better. Where are the pickles?? Chicken Pesto Primavera My dish! The pasta fanatic in me will always order this first over everything else on the menu, and what a great choice it was. The spaghetti was done in a creamy pesto sauce that had tons of flavor and depth, along with yellow peppers, pine nuts, tender strips of chicken, fresh basil, fresh parmesan cheese, and 3 tasty slices of garlic bread. Highly recommended for the pasta and pesto fan! SERVICE: Our female server was friendly, professional, and checked on us often. OVERALL: Good food & service, fair portions.

Great place for breakfast... The staff was very friendly... The food was great... If their breakfast tasted this good... I can't wait to eat here for lunch and dinner... Stay safe and blessed everyone... 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾

I recently visited 808 Old Town at the suggestion of local friends, and I really enjoyed the cute, coffee-and-island vibe of the place. The restrooms at the back were impressively clean, which is always a plus. After indulging in heavy Hawaiian fare for over a week, it was refreshing to enjoy a sandwich with fries instead. The service was attentive, although the interior was a bit warm during our visit. My partner ordered the Katsu, which was decent but tasted a bit too much like plain ketchup, and the spicy pasta salad could use some improvement. Despite these minor setbacks, the overall atmosphere was fun, and I appreciated the great company, making for a pleasant experience overall!

Good place to eat in Wailuku. Located in the old town area of Wailuku, we stopped in for lunch and we weren’t disappointed. We liked the local vibe and there looked to be only a few tourists in the place. The food is good and came out quickly. I had mahi mahi and my wife had the caesar salad with a few changes. They have Maui Brewing Company root beer and ginger ale along with the usual assortment of soft drinks. We will have to come back on our next visit to the island.

Contacted the store to let them know that there were several flies cooked into my food. Wasn’t rude at all the response from the guy on the other line was “ did it taste good”? The next thing is I ordered carbonara. It’s literally scrambled eggs with bacon and cheese on top of pasta. I was willing to eat the food and just get over it but the fact that I found several flies and got the response I got from the worker at 8:08 old town. It’s just unreal. Be one if I came up the person wrong. I understand things happen. But his response was ridiculous and really unprofessional

Came for breakfast and had probably the best meal on the island! The fries are little potato browns and was an amazing addition to the breakfast Parking is in the back with entrance in front or back

Stopped here during breakfast hours before heading out to catch flight out of Kahului Airport. Food and service were excellent. Ample free parking spaces are located back of the building. Gluten-free options are available. Will visit again when visiting Maui in future.

Yelp
Love everything that we have had here over the last 5 visits, great service and great food! Stoked to have them here in Wailuku. Might just go again tonight! Ps. Don't skip the Oreo cheesecake!!!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
Stopped for lunch on the way to the airport. Ordered coconut shrimp and seared ahi tuna for appetizers. Shrimp was amazing!! The tuna seemed slightly dry, but otherwise tasted good. We got roasted beef burger and couple of spicy tuna sandwiches and all food tasted good. The service was very good and the host was very attentive, helpful and polite!!

Yelp
HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR FAMILIES!!! There is a parking lot located in the back of the restaurant. We walked in and were fortunate to have a large table available for our party 10, as the restaurant was pretty busy on a Saturday for lunch. I must give HUGE props to the staff and the restaurant for being so family-friendly. To our surprise, the restaurant provided coloring pages, crayons and even puzzles for the kiddies to keep occupied with while waiting for the food to arrive. The kids loved it and this made our meal that much more enjoyable! The food was also outstanding. I really enjoyed my honey mustard chicken sandwich, and all of their salads were super fresh. The spicy pasta salad that came as a side was also yummy. I would highly recommend coming here! The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service to our large group.

Yelp
They accepted our reservation, but it wasn't necessary since we went on a Tuesday when it wasn't busy. It was a cute little space and roomy. The breakfast food and selection were good.

Yelp
Nice little place in old district to eat. Service was polite and attentive parking was little difficult, but had to walk a few blocks. Fish was fresh and pulled pork was very good.

Bobbi B.

Yelp
Caprese was good, chicken special was good. Ordered the lunch special, was shown potato soup and a roast beef sandwich. Was given some tomato soup that tasted like canned stewed tomatoes straight out the can and a turkey sandwich that had mustard.... I'm allergic to mustard.... They offered to take it back and make something new. , won't do that, know what happens when you do that. If I knew it was turkey woth mustard, would have ordered without the mustard...Miss the old spot...Guess going to Kihei for my 808 deli fix.... I ate as much as my hives would let me...

Yelp
Off the plane, luggage, car and off for lunch! Close to the airport this restaurant is a perfect place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Super cozy, open and relaxing with good music. We had lunch and it was delicious. I order a turkey sandwich with macaroni salad and the hubby ordered a honey mustard chicken sandwich. Everything was great, good portions, quick service. Waitresses were friendly, sweet and attentive. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Food: first and foremost the food was delicious everything I had was absolutely something I'd come back for. I could smell from across the restaurant someone had garlic fries. I purchased said garlic fries and they were pretty delicious. I had the fettuccine with chicken and the sauce wasn't overpowering they didn't put too much cheese on it and honestly it had the perfect amount of garlic for any fettuccine. My friend had the salad and he said it was amazing he just didn't like the blue cheese as much. Service: I had an amazing server I don't know his name but he had a frost top. The service was very attentive very on point nothing was missing. And on top of all of that they made it seem like our service was priority. I believe he was only male server at the time. But someone should give him a raise. The last time I was there he also was my server and he's probably the only reason why we're going to keep coming back. Besides the food of course. Ambiance: it's not tacky there is no extensive decorations that make it seem like the ambience is the only thing that they worry about. They're doing a wonderful job the restaurant itself is very quaint, modest, and gives more of a modern home vibe. And just to add a little bit of extra the service was wonderful and the chefs were also wonderful. You can tell when they got in order they were on it and made sure they delivered delicious tasting good looking food.

Yelp
Food was not super tasty. I would easily pick Paia over this place. Staff are super friendly though.

Yelp
I work close by and although there are numerous lunch options around this area I choose here 90% of the time!! I get the Kula Strawberry Salad, Mahi Mahi Quinoa Bowl, and Paninis on repeat :) A local favorite. Hooo bradda 808 Old town is onoooo Rajahhh

Yelp
Older mountain side spot - unique and off the tourist list. Lots of options and good!

Yelp
We decided to give this place another try. The food was excellent the service very friendly. A little slow but good

Yelp
Great find in Wailuku. We had a wonderful lunch. We started with mango peach ice tea (great) and some of their garlic fries (good fries and great aioli). My kids attacked the fries like angry dingos. I heard a few grunts so I knew they liked them. For mains, we tried a variety of items: Mahi Mahi Sandwich (awesome tasting with a good size of fish and little wasabi bite - I paired it with their House Salad as my side (nice balsamic vinegar dressing). Alfredo Pasta (great size of pasta and cooked to a perfect al dente). Gnocchi (nice taste and my daughter said it was her favorite). Chicken Pesto Panini (the pesto was delicious and the chicken was moist). Our server was very nice and helpful. We will be back.

Eric S.

Yelp
We ordered the house salad, tuna sandwich and the sashimi and loved everything! Service was quick and friendly. Great location in a neat building in old town.

Yelp
Great service and price on Maui for tasty dishes. We love the Mahi fish specials and panini. Oh, and always leave room for dessert.

Danielle M.

Yelp
Came early Saturday morning for breakfast, the place was cute and welcoming with a nice interior and small patio. The place is clean with nice lighting. The staff were warm and friendly. The food was solid dinner style breakfast, with a big coffee bar menu. It was affordable pricing as well.

Yelp
Nice restaurant in the Old Town area. After an excursion to one of the many beautiful sites on Maui we built up an appetite. We were quickly seated in the renovated building that mixed modern with the unique feature of the original building. There was a small area for those who preferred to sit outside. There was a little bit of a wait for someone to take our order at the start. However host took care the best he could until that time. Once order was taken our food arrived quickly, hot and inviting. I really enjoyed my meal of a beautifully seasoned Mahi Mahi on a bed of couscous, cucumber, tomato with a slightly sweet sauce to pour over. Very delish dish. My friends all enjoyed their meals as well. One ordered the special, also Mahi Mahi with a light white sauce, the other friends ordered paninis and ended up with enough for dinner later on. The host kept our water full and was very attentive. I would come back in the future when visiting Maui.

Yelp
Went for breakfast at 0900 to miss the rush. Was greeted warmly and took a booth. Nice since there was no crowd just a couple other tables were occupied. Nice and quiet. We looked over the menu and there were plenty of choices. Being a local boy I went for the Loco Moco. It came with lots of gravy and rice was cooked Hawaii style. The beef patty was thick and meaty. Tasted the brown gravy and it was decent and not weird. The beef patty could use a little more seasoning and I added shoyu to it. Noticed there were no salt and pepper shakers on the table and when I asked for soy sauce I was brought several little packets. At least I know they were sealed. If I asked for salt and pepper I'm sure she would have brought packets of those. The server was very nice but didn't introduce herself so I don't have a name for you. The place was quiet at the time and I don't know if there was a morning rush. Parking in the back was decent and I found more than several stalls open. I would go back there. Thanks

Tutti T.

Yelp
Nice local place to go to. Informal, simple, good home cooked tasting food. They always have soup and sandwich specials. Never disappoints. Perfect place to have a quick bite if you're in the district.

Tran K.

Yelp
This place is an oasis! When we got there it wasn't busy brunch time but it filled up right away. Great vegetarian and gluten free choices but be warned, the serving sizes are larger than you usually expect. Bring a cooler for the leftovers. Wait staff are very careful to check for allergens in ingredients if you let them know it's an issue.

Yelp
This place used to be so well but after our last visit I'm done. I used to love this place but I don't know what has happened in the past year. We made a to go order online and I got there and it was almost done, service and everything was nice. However the food has gone down hill. I ordered the kula strawberry salad and bring it home and and as my girlfriend started tossing it and eating it we noticed the lettuce was completely rotted. The calamari was nothing like it was on the picture and it was spongy and oily and the batter was completely falling off. The sashimi tasted old and the wasabi looked like it had been sitting out for hours. The best thing which was average at best was the sandwich but was skimpy on the pork sauce. We try to support our local mom and pop restaurants and our economy for being locals but it is hard to do when this is the quality of food that we receive.

Jeanette U.

Yelp
To me this place was a little hidden but I was thankful for the good food and service.

WhiteChocolate808081 ..

Yelp
I ordered the breakfast burrito. It was not good. On the menu it said the home fries were wrapped in the burrito. They were plated on the side. Not much cheese in the burrito and very lacking in Portuguese sausage, $3.00 to add that. I hate half the burrito that has 3 specks of sausage. I guess all the protein was in the half in the picture. Also they crispy fried the burrito on the flat top so it came out oily and greasy. Honestly it was garbage. At least the hostess that took my order was nice.

Christie B.

Yelp
Low key casual vibe in this dine in restaurant close to the Maui airport with both indoor and outdoor seating. Amazing flavors on everything we tried: coconut shrimp, poke bowl, garlic shrimp and the trio. Huge portions mean leftovers to enjoy later too. Spectacular service. They also have desserts that looked good but we were too full to try and fancy coffee drinks. If you want a short drive to really good food after a long flight, this is a great option!

Tara O.

Yelp
Food was spectacular! Hubby had the spicy tuna melt panini and said it was the best he's ever had (and he's had a lot). The spicy pasta side was probably not the best pairing, but it was still really good (just a hit too spicy with a spicy sandwich). I had the local flavor sandwich with a side salad. It was great! The homemade balsamic on the salad was excellent. We will definitely be back!

Troy S.

Yelp
AMAZING RESTAURANT!!!! 100/10 Food & Service Definitely worth stopping by and eating a quick bite to eat and then walk around Main Street to burn off those calories;) The ambiance was rustic farmhouse vibe brought indoors. Definitely will be bringing my family here soon.

Kimberly R.

Yelp
I ordered a panini sandwich with the spicy Pasta Salad and a side of Garlic Fries. Those Garlic fries were so good as they arrived to use Crispy and hot. Perfectly cooked as fries should be. I loved the Spicy Pasta Salad as it had a great balance of spice that made it enjoyable. My Panini Sandwich was not all that great. I didn't care for the bread that it was made with as it was flavorless.

Karen B.

Yelp
Best pastrami sandwich I have ever had - and this girl has eaten more than her fair share! Smoky, creamy, crispy (without cutting your mouth) and delicious. I am already craving another just writing this review! I paired it with the butternut squash soup. A bowl of pure goodness that made me feel healthy (which is a big lift for a pastrami fanatic!) The only knock I'd give was the cookies & cream cheesecake. It wasn't awfu, but it gad a citrus taste to it and I like my cookies and cream just like it's named. I'm actually sad to have tried this place (not really) because there are so many places I love to eat in Wailuku and this is definitely going to battle for my share of stomach!

Megan K.

Yelp
Came in for lunch. We were able to be seated right away. They have three different types of iced tea and I ordered a mule from the bar. We both bordered panini's mine came on rye with pork and mango salsa with sweet chili dipping sauce, the dipping sauce was amazing however the mango salsa had three tiny cubes of mango for the whole panini, disappointing since it was literally in the name. Other than that it was okay. Everyone was friendly and it was a very open setting.

Siyuan L.

Yelp
Most of the places outside is either too salty or oily to emphasize on the taste, but the food in this place is so healthy, and somehow they are made with great taste! The food portion is big. Definitely recommend.

Mikala S.

Yelp
My first time! We decided to eat breakfast and it was 3 of us. Zach was our waiter. It was NOT BUSY! It took a while for him to come to out table so my friend decided to grab us menus since he was not attentive. He came to our table...no customer service at all! He didn't greet us nor mention his name. No smile just no personality! He took our order. We had utensils on our table. He kept hanging out by the coffee station up front while we were seated in the middle of the restaurant. Our food was weak!! I mean, nothing appealing or appetizing! Just BLAND! We all came to the conclusion Zach's calling is NOT A SERVER! We also thought maybe he's the owners son because only a family member of the restaurant would be this terrible! Zach...please don't be a server!! It's NOT FOR YOU! Breakfast at this restaurant is TERRIBLE!! Go to Sixtytwo Marcket down the street NEVER EVER AGAIN!

Debbie C.

Yelp
The food was delicious, service was great. It was our first stop after arriving to Maui from San Francisco. It wasn't loud and we could carryon a conversation.

Janice L.

Yelp
We came for a late breakfast at 10:15 and were able to sit down with no wait. Our family of five (vegetarian) ordered the following: breakfast burrito with home fries and house salsa, island waffles with Maui gold pineapple, sliced strawberries and bananas with whipped cream and maple syrup, two eggs scrambled with additions of black olives, onions, cheddar cheese, jalapeños and tomatoes which came with home fries and sourdough toast, a lightly toasted bagel, avocado toast, hot chocolate and mango tea. Delicious food! The home fries were tasty and crispy, eggs were seasoned, bread and bagel were nicely toasted, waffles were good. We enjoyed our breakfast and our server, Catalina. It was also nice to meet the owner, Flavia. It's clear she endeavors to provide good service and delicious food.

Jennifer Y.

Yelp
Food was good but the service was crap. My husband asked for a cup of coffee and waited 20 minutes... which would have been fine if our server would have let him know. Instead she got rude when he asked her again for his cup of coffee and slammed our checkbook on the table.

Susan Z.

Yelp
One of the best turkey sandwiches we have ever had. Fresh turkey on whole grain with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sprouts and cranberry sauce. Delicious and staff ready to please. It's a popular place so arrive early!! Staff are super friendly and offer fresh baked goodies too! I wanted to try the lemon poundcake muffins but that would have been over kill to my big opu! Haha! Check it out and they have easy take out options as well! Happy Eating!!

Darryl H.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch and had a great experience!! Yummy food and the vibe was great. Awesome service. Definitely recommend!

Jenna F.

Yelp
808 old town was straight fire. Everyone in my party of 7 thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Chicken combo plate was the best of both worlds with teriyaki chicken and katsu chicken. So yum. Calamari was okay. Someone in my party ordered the Poke Bowl and has not stopped talking about in 4 days into our trip. Two teen girls ordered the chicken katsu and said it "bussed"...which is a good thing apparently. The matcha latte had great, authentic flavor. The espresso lattes were described as "the best latte I've ever had" by several people. I would come back fosho. My party of 7 was seated super fast during a midweek lunch service and only a couple tables were occupied. Overall, great experience, good vibes.

Lucy H.

Yelp
Glad to see this restaurant doing so well. The food and service has always been great; I especially enjoyed my chopped salad that I was able to split with my friend - for a nominal fee. The portions are so generous! Ample parking is available at the rear of the restaurant.

Lonnie P.

Yelp
Just moved here from California and looking for a place to grab a good burger but this place did fall short also with the calamari what was good was the poke bowl and the Aioli garlic fries. Ambiance was very cool with the option to sit outside. Service was absolutely fantastic waitresses constantly checked on us.

Erin B.

Yelp
Great place for a business lunch with friendly service. I ordered the Mahi Sandwich, which consisted of fresh grilled mahi and wasabi coleslaw on a delicious Hawaiian sweet roll and paired with a fresh salad with balsamic vinaigrette. 5/5 for the mahi sandwich. I also started with the onion soup which needed a little sweetness to meld the flavors together, but still tasty (4/5).

Tristan C.

Yelp
In Maui, for a girls' weekend trip. Just landed and we were hungry. We were craving all sorts of things and couldn't make up our mind. Found this spot based off of yelp reviews. We ordered the fries, Mahi Mahi salad and the Cobb salad. All great options, especially the aioli sauce for the fries. All great options! The Cobb salad is definitely something to be shared. Also, I would've added more cheese on the fries. The service was great. Our server greeted us as we came in and we sat as soon as we came in. She was very attentive to our needs and refilled our drinks without us asking. I liked the decor of the place. Clean and open. The bench was a little wobbly but that's ok. The bathroom was decent. Would recommend! Sorry didn't take pictures but the ones included in other reviews are spot on. No camera tricks there.

D J.

Yelp
This was the best Mahi i ever had! I am gluten free and this was gluten free! It came with a delicious white onion sauce! I did not leave a drop! My husband had the trio and loved his too! Don't leave without trying this place!!!! It was wonderful!!!

Bethani E.

Yelp
808 on Main is one of my favorite lunch spots. My go to is the Shiitake Beef Melt with house salad. If you love the French dip sandwich you'll be a fan of this one with tender slices of beef, melted cheese and carmelized onions and sauteed mushrooms. If I'm in the mood for a burger I ca never go wrong with the Deli burger that has pastrami, swiss cheese, fried egg all smothered in Thousand Island dressing or Mushroom Swiss burger. Lately, I've been getting the Daily Lunch special that includes a different sandwich and soup that changes each day. All of their meals are fresh, flavorful and filling. If you do takeout and find yourself visiting often, be sure to get a stamp card to earn a free meal.

Jill P.

Yelp
3/5 Turkey sandwich: nothing stood out but it was a delicious Turkey sandwich. I loved the jam which added a refreshing and sweet taste with the Turkey (reminds you of thanksgiving) and the pasta salad was really good too. I love how it had the little kick of the chili flakes and spicy flavor, really elevated the salad. For $14, I don't know if it was worth it, I would recommend paying a dollar more and getting a panini. Lots of seating inside and staff were friendly.

Clint J.

Yelp
We went to this restaurant based on Yelp reviews and were disappointed in the experience. Overall, staff were slow and didn't appear to be very helpful, even when we were one of 2 tables in use while we were there. Food was bland.

Haley K.

Yelp
Such a cute spot in the heart of Wailuku town. It had been a while since I've been here. The same owners of 808 deli, so if you like their sandwiches, you find a few of the same ones here. I know they get busy, so decided to go kinda early. Went with the special sandwich they had on the board, turkey provolone, with tomatoes, purple onion, with garlic aioli. It came with soup, but I swapped it out for fries. Food came out quickly sandwich was yummy, bread was crisp. Loved the crunch of the onion & glad there were other flavors in there like the garlic aioli to enhance the turkey. Fries were crispy & it was the perfect amount of food for me, where I didn't have leftovers, which is rare for me. I did notice though, that they got rid of their s'mores skillet, bummer as it was so yummy. They now only have pudding for dessert. Service was good & ambiance is always good. Support local & give them a try.

Jennifer T.

Yelp
I was happy with my choice as the Quinoa Bowl was full of flavor, nutritious and delicious!

Shannon C.

Yelp
Ordered takeout. Food was ready pretty fast and the hostess was very friendly. Love the food! Best sandwich's and spicy pasta salad! Great spot to grab lunch in Wailuku.
