815 Gourmet Grill N Commissary

This was mine and my husband’s first time trying this restaurant and we will ABSOLUTELY be coming back. The food was so good. I had the Carolina Monster Burger & Fries with ranch and garlic parmesean sauce to dip in, my husband had the Mushroom Bacon Cheese Burger, and we shared an order of the best Mac and cheese!!! It was all so so so so so good. I am pregnant and the Carolina burger with the sweetness of the bun and chili paired with the juicy meat and the refreshing coleslaw just hit the spot. To top it all off we had excellent service from Jack. Even though it was so busy during the food rush, he maintained a calm demeanor but still did everything with a sense of urgency and even with a kind smile. This establishment has a great server on their hands. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Wow! This place was so impressive. I placed an order online while I got my oil changed on an 8 hour road trip from NC to MD. The first time we try a new place we usually order several things from the menu in case we don't like something, we'll still get something we like. Since we do this every time we go somewhere new, I know that not very often does everything we order from a place taste great. It did today! Everything tasted great and the size of the sandwiches were pretty large. The guy that brought my order out was very friendly. I ordered a big mutha Clucker (grilled chicken, bacon and macaroni sandwich.) I never thought I would like such a thing but it was probably the best thing I got. We also ordered the Philly cheese steak bratwurst and the Carolina monster. The fries, potato salad and macaroni were all good as well.

First time trying this sandwich .. I remember I had the wings first when they opened up ,which I don’t think they long longer have I tried the grilled chicken sandwich as you can see. It was really good. I just wish we had more fries and more seasoning. I would definitely be returning and thanks to the lady who helped me figure out what I wanted to eat, even though it was pretty slow still.

Overall, it was good. The food was great. I got the riddle, and I was only able to eat half of it because it filled me up. The mac n cheese & potato salad were amazing. You can order two ways...at the counter or scan a QR code at the table. If you use the QR code, it asks the tip question. Sorry, I am not tipping before I see what the food and service are like. The drinks are bottled, so there are no refills. The service needs work, though. Knowing the sandwiches are full of sauce and can be messy, please bring napkins before or when bringing the food. When bringing the food, but before leaving the table, make sure the table is good. We had to ask for salt & pepper (which was never brought), napkins, a knife, and the ranch that we paid for. The one guy in there never really checked back with us to see if we were okay or if we needed anything. Had I not seen other customers throwing their trash away, I would have left mine on the table. We'll go back, but I'll have to bring my own drink in with me. A 20oz with no refills might not be enough for some people.

We came in at noon on a Saturday and were greeted when we walked in the door. The young man who took our order was so friendly and helpful. He recommended the “The Problem” burger so that is what we got. My husband and I split it because we still had things to do 😉. The burger was smash style with bacon and Mac n’ Cheese. The bacon was crispy, the burger was juicy and seasoned well. The fries on the side were piled high and covered with Parmesan cheese and salted to perfection. The chef came out and talked college football with us and he was such a cool guy. We will definitely be back to try some their other burgers.The restaurant was itself was clean with a chill vibe. They do have a small bar in the back. It seems like a great place to come hang out and watch a game.

The food was amazing! Burger was huge and super flavorful. Princess Mac and cheese was delicious

My Family and I were traveling and we stop in this restaurant to have lunch and we ended up eating the best burgers. This food was amazing and delicious. Customer service was on point. You won't regret eating in this place.

I been at the hospital for over a week with my Mom. I really needed some best Mac n cheese periodt. So I submitted my order - DASH JR. which has Cajun grilled jumbo shrimp and smoked bacon grilled cheese sammy w/ side of mac. I pulled the shrimp off and had them for an appetizer. Then enjoyed the best bacon and grilled cheese sandwich with a delicious side of the best Mac n cheese periodt! Oh my!

14 of us showed up right at opening on a Saturday. Even though the weather was beautiful, the parade we were supposed to be at was rained out. So... early lunch and some drinks. The woman who was working was working hard, making sure our food was coming out, drinks were taken care of. While there was a little bit of a wait, it was nothing that was upsetting... because... 14 people. A good local place, and if you're looking for something fancy, this isn't the place. If you're looking for really good food, this is the place. They even have a food truck, if that tells you how legit they are. This place is well worth the experience. Awesome burgers and Mac and cheese and a Mac and cheese burger. I got the Usual Suspect and it was superb. Burger patties were tender and seasoned well but not over the top. I will come out of my way for this for sure. Also they have beer and football so that helps.

You want the best burger in North Carolina? U need to stop and eat here. Came up here to be with my parents for the hurricane in Florida. Absolutely amazing food. Service was phenomenal. Definitely coming here every time I'm in town

What a great place to eat!! I've had their food truck before and was excited to try their restaurant. It did not disappoint!! The food is incredible! I got Shroom N Bacon Cheddar cheeseburger and it was delicious! It was a little messy, but worth the extra napkins! I did a side of the best damn Mac and it lives up to its name! Hubs got the Whiskey River N Bacon Cheeseburger and loved every bite! The fries were crispy and seasoned just right! I already have planned out what I'm getting next time, bc there will be a next time! You can eat in or take out, but I would suggest eating in!

I enjoyed the grilled chicken mac-n-cheese, and the bratwurst sausage with potato salad. The seasoning was balanced in both meals. This restaurant is a hidden gem for foodies. I'm going to order a burger on my next visit...It's located in Smithfield, but don't count them out!...Thumbs up!

When they came out with my food it smelled so good and after trying I tell you this hit, it hit hard. Bussin' frfr. 5 stars all the way, I'm definitely coming back, just trust me come eat here.

We were in Smithfield picking up a few things and wanted to grab takeout so I hit up Yelp and found 815. The burgers were fantastic and huge portions, so be hungry. The fries were marketed as garlic parm, but they were definitely Cajun and equally tasty, not disappointed, but not sure why the $2 up charge. We got the Joey and the Philly. The Philly has a different texture meat on it than just beef, like brisket or something similar. Flavors all paired really well. Highly recommend. Since a couple things were off from the listing, I'd double check if you have allergies. I gave it 5 stars because it was all really good. Fast service too.

This is a cute restaurant, clean and very nice staff. They did not lie!! The macaroni and cheese is the best, periodt!!! Food is delicious and definitely filling!! So many choices on the menu, including Cookie butter cheesecake! We will be back again when we are railfanning in Smithfield!!

We accidentally found ourselves at the 815 gourmet grill because the restaurant we were meeting family at was closed. What a happy accident! We ordered; Savory steakhouse Mac and cheese, chili, 2 Sunrize burgers and The Problem, with a variety of sides. The food was no short of amazing! Best Mac and Cheese ever!! The burgers are high quality and sides are fresh and delicious. The ordering was a little clumsy, using our QR code and reading from our phones. There was only 1 server and she was very busy serving patrons, but took good care of us. Very glad we stumbled onto this place..next time we are in Smithfield, we'll be back to try more!

I really hated to give them a low review. Went in around 1:30 for lunch. I seen they had brats and sounded good. Walked in. No one there. Sat at bar. You have to order and pay from your phone. So once you get to the menu you have to put in credit card phone number email and home address...just to order. Super clumsy ordering method. Ordered the brat with pepper and onions. Mustard (or any sauce) is 1.25 extra? 1.25 for mustard? Seen some ketchup at a table so grabbed that. Looked good when it came out and it was but the bun is twice the size of the brat. Had to take two bites before getting to the brat. No one ever asked if I wanted anything to drink. I ask the guy if I could get a drink and I just wanted water. He says like ice water in a cup? Um. Yes...potato salad was good. I ate and left. Know one ever came and asked if I needed anything. It was a little weird. I hope they make it but I wasn't super impressed. It's in a strip mall kinda of tucked back in the corner.

This burger was amazing i haven't had a solid burger in Johnston County for a while, so for them to be able to make an amazing burger at a reasonable price for the amount you get is awesome. I highly recommend this place , They dont get much business which upsets me because I literally don't understand why. ITS AN AMAZING SPOT!!! Also the guy at the front desk who also served me was really nice and chill and i only waited about 5 minutes for my food

Food was hot and fresh and so good! I am a stickler for good Mac and cheese and they have it for sure! Staff was friendly and the Chef was great, even talked football with him too. We will be back for sure!

Food was great but atmosphere and service was sorely lacking. No cups of ice for your drink, dont have a bar if you dont know what is served and then say its closed when questioned about a cider. Food was great!

On my way back to Raleigh from Goldsboro NC and my son found this place on Instagram. Stopped in to try it out for the first time this place is so clean with a nice atmosphere. The little guy working the register was so nice and helpful through our ordering process and even the chef came out to speak as we dined in. The food was amazing the mac and cheese is among the best I ever tasted. My compliments to the chef.

Came to 815GG on a Saturday evening for dinner with my wife. When we entered, there was nobody around except for one person who seated us and explained that we could order through him off the menu or scan a QR at our table and order electronically. We ordered a burger called "Usual Suspect", a "Gourmet Chicken Philly Roll" and since they are known for Mac n' Cheese, the host recommended the "Whiskey River Barbecue Mac". Food only took about 15-20 minutes as expected. My wife's burger, though not cooked to order, was exceptional flavorful and juicy. The chicken Philly was hot and full of chicken and veggies and was a party on my palate! The Whiskey River Barbecue Mac? Oh my God! This was a heaping portion of goodness! Tons of Mac n' cheese with smoked pork that was incredibly succulent, I thought it was prime rib. The sauce was dang good as well. This was serious next-level mac n' cheese! This food is very much deserving of its 5-star reviews. Well done Chef Dash!!

I don't have a lot to say except the food was mediocre, the ambiance was non-existent and ordering from your table with an online menu and no wait staff seemed like it was an inside food truck.

I have eaten here multiple times and I will say it is absolutely amazing and delicious EVERY SINGLE time I've had the Mac the brats burgers and a bar baby and every time I come here I am always amazed at how delicious it is and how consistent the chefs are I will definitely be back to try their specials when they become available photo drop from everything I've tried every time I been there

We did carry out and the food was amazing and portions are huge. We ordered the Whiskey River Mac and Cheese and the Fat Boi Bacon Mac and Cheese, both were delicious. We are already looking forward to eating the leftovers. I should have taken a picture before we dug in.

Best burger I've had in JoCo! They've only been open about 3 months...so get into 815 Gourmet Grill ASAP. The "Problem" burger has bacon and an uber-generous helping of the awesome Mac on it.

This place rules! Period, end of debate. The burgers are great, and don't even cast a side eye at the cheesy Mac because you will never be disappointed. The brats are smack your momma good and that's that! Eat there and change the way your stomach feels about you.

Great place! Really big burgers and great Mac & cheese! Have been there twice now and both times the food has been one of the best we've found in Smithfield.

The service was bad. The food has no flavor but they were actually the juiciest chicken wings I've had. If they seasoned it up and seasoned the Mac I'd be back! But the two times we went it just wasn't with spending more money here. The place across the street tho taste delicious!

We were greeted as soon as we entered the restaurant! Since we had looked over the menu on the way there, we made our minds up quickly and were served even quicker. The mac was super rich and flavorful. The BLT was tasty and used high quality ingredients. Look forward to coming back and trying other menu items.

Came here since recently moving from Clayton and this place did not disappoint the mac and cheese is perfect and the burgers are huge well worth the price!will come back

Friends and I went there because I had read this business was struggling. Reason for two stars because Charles was very nice. Plastic utensils, my burger was thin, not juicy and certainly not as pictured on menu. They were closing at five but still served us at 4:45. Only drinks were in bottles - certainly needs improvement.

This place was actually very good. So many places have great pictures of their food where it all looks wonderful, but then you get the food and it's nothing like the pictures at all. The food I received was not only delicious, but it was exactly as advertised via the menu pictures online. I got the Carolina style burger with fries and a side of the cheese sauce for dipping. Also picked up an order of the Mac n cheese to try out and it did not disappoint. The to go order was ready to go very quickly and the staff was kind and attentive. Smithfield doesn't have a ton of unique options for to go food, so this was a nice change of pace. Highly recommend you try it out.

Service was A++. I absolutely love service with a smile. But the food was average at best. Wings and Mac were giving very much Food Lion. Cheese tasted kind of cheese whiz-ish and wings were moderately seasoned and weren't cooked well. Also, I'm sure they keep costs down by not serving drinks in real glasses... but my preference is to have my beverage with a little ice and not from a can/plastic can. Absolute sweethearts though.

A little bit on the pricey side of things..... however, most amazing delicious burger I've had in a long time. Fries were the bomb, mac and cheese was fantastic. Great customer service, great atmosphere. 5 out of 5 for a reason. The only thing that I wish I did differently was take a picture. The food was so good I literally forgot..... #NextTime

Absolutely incredible food! The man working the register is super polite & helpful. Chef Dash makes sure your food is right, he was very aware of dietary restrictions, came to speak to us directly & just KNOCKED the food out of the park. You have to try it, places like this are rare!
