85C Bakery Café Continues Its Houston Takeover - Eater Houston

"Pastry fans, rejoice — wildly popular Taiwanese sweet shop 85C Bakery Café is continuing its Houston takeover with a brand new location. Construction permits filed in Harris County indicate that 85C Bakery Cafe has plans to open its newest outpost at 19028 Gulf Freeway in Friendswood. These two new cafes bring the total number of local 85C Bakery Cafe outposts to four, joining two currently-open locations, one on Bellaire Boulevard and another on Blalock Road. There's also an outpost of 85C Bakery Cafe under construction in Katy, set to open at the Katy Grand development later this summer." - Amy McCarthy

While browsing for a new breakfast place online, I came across 85c Bakery. Our first visit and it was great. We came at opening, and they were having a late start but we were in no hurry. Manager Michelle was terrific. She handed us two menus and made us two beverages while we waited on the baked goods to be put into the beautiful display cases. All of the tea’s and coffees are delicious with no artificial sweeteners. We had the brown sugar latte and the Carmel Milk Tea...mmm delicious. Michelle is so customer friendly, gives great suggestions and is very helpful in your decision making. The bakery is very nice, upscale, everything baked fresh and delicious.

Love this bakery ! We used to drive 36 miles to go to it across town. Always the best in baked goodness, fresh always, with the nicest staff. There is a nice seating area and plenty of parking. Good because the crowds will come.

I’m so happy there is a 85C bakery here! I used to go to the one by 99 ranch market and absolutely missed it when I moved. This bakery has a selection of Japanese inspired items. I love this bakery so much and hope you will too! They also have a good selection of coffee and tea.

This is a one of a kind bakery. You will not find many of the desserts they make anywhere else around texas. All their mango deserts are my favorite, but they also have great cakes and other pasteries. Likewise if you are into Bubble (boba) milk tea, they also sell that too and it tastes great. The place is clean and looks great. There are very few negatives. Many of the pasteries are not made at this location and is made at a secondary location and brought in fresh. As such if you come late you are likely to see your favorite desserts are not there. Likewise the prices are a little high, but not to surprising since it is near the mall. Considering the uniqueness of many of their products, the price is worth it to me. If you want a treat, this is definitely a great choice at any time for any occasion.

Stopped by this place on our way to the Space Center. Awesome variety of standard asian bakery treats along with some unique and creative additions. The tea is also very tasty.
