"The group that owns Taïrroir opened this fashionably retro restaurant in the iconic skyscraper in 2021. The sweeping view is a given, and the room in brass and olive green is quite charming. The head chef from Hong Kong has over 50 years of experience under his belt and is well-versed in both contemporary and classic dishes like the juicy barbecue pork, and his take on Buddha’s Temptation, a cross between the Hong Kong and Taiwanese versions of the soup." - Michelin Inspector

One of the most unforgettable fine dining experiences I’ve had in Taipei — 85TD delivers not only with its refined Cantonese cuisine but also with an unbeatable location inside Taipei 101 on the 85th floor. From the moment you enter, you’re greeted with breathtaking views across the entire city, especially magical during sunset and after dark. The atmosphere is sleek yet warm, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who explain each dish and pairing with care. I tried their special tasting menu and every course was a standout. The signature barbecued pork was perfectly caramelized and tender, paired beautifully with steamed chicken in conpoy broth and a crispy black truffle crab cake to start. The bird’s nest soup with winter melon and crab meat was delicate and luxurious, and the stuffed crab claw was bursting with shrimp flavor inside a golden, crispy shell. One of the most unique dishes was the crispy soft-shell lobster done "typhoon shelter" style — garlicky, punchy, and totally satisfying. For the main course, the pan-seared New Zealand Lumina lamb with coriander pesto was cooked perfectly, with a fresh and slightly herbal twist that worked beautifully with the richness of the meat. Drinks were just as thoughtful — a refreshing yuzu pepper mocktail and an elegant gin-based honey black tea cocktail that brought out different layers of the meal. Overall, this is a must-visit for special occasions or gourmet travelers. The combination of stunning city views, luxurious service, and elevated modern Cantonese food makes it one of Taipei’s most memorable dining destinations. Would 100% come back — especially to catch that golden hour glow again from the top of the city 🌇

Registration opens at 5:50pm at the counter. If you get lost in Taipei 101, just head to the customer service center and they’ll guide you. Take the lift to level 59 then transfer to another lift to level 85. We tried the roasted suckling pig (6/10) — some pieces weren’t crispy. We did feedback and the staff kindly offered to give us two new pieces. The star was the roasted goose (10/10, about SGD 120 for half). Crispy skin, juicy meat, no gamey taste at all. They serve it three ways: skin wraps, meat with gravy, and fried rice/porridge/noodles. The skin wraps were amazing and the fried rice had great wok hei. There’s also a live carving show at the table which was impressive. Mango sago dessert was a refreshing finish. Service was excellent (10/10) — staff were patient and helpful even with our broken Mandarin. Beautiful view too. For window seats, you need to request in advance and theres is a minimal requirement you have to fulfill such as minimum spending per pax. We already knew cause it was stated on the reservation page. Total bill was around SGD 350 for 2 pax. There are white and black chopsticks on the table. The waitress told us the white ones are for picking food from the shared plates, and the black ones are for eating. The goose is really good , please try it!

Solo diner friendly. I had a great last minute lunch there. The first few dishes were super delicious while the last 2 were abit average. However, service and view were great!

Overall: We specially booked a seat with a city view by the window which meant we had to spend $3000pp. There weren’t many people seated and those who were there were dressed down (sweater and jeans). Ambience was calm and quiet. Expected to be blown away with the meal but it didn’t really meet expectations (which were quite high). Just felt overpriced.. Food: The complimentary appetiser was some nuts. All courses were very filling and enjoyable. We pre-ordered the bean curd rolls and were let down. The pork terrine was not worth it at all and I personally didn’t enjoy the beef starter; just cold and not much flavour. The duck with crispy taro was delicious but quite oily. The pork in the assortment of barbecued meats was my favourite. The crispy tofu starter was also great. Service: Our food arrived quite swiftly. We ordered tea which was refilled when we had finished the pot. The waiters spoke good English. Not very friendly though.

I had the pleasure of dining during lunchtime, and the breathtaking city view from my table truly enhanced the experience. The table service was impeccable, making the entire visit delightful. I cannot wait to return! I highly recommend trying the barbecued platter—it's a must! Don't miss out on the egg tart either; it's absolutely divine. And if you're looking for something unique, the cocoa tea is a standout that you simply must experience.

My friend and I had dinner on Sept. 17th in 85TD and had a rather mixed experience. The positives: the location with the view from 85th floor is stunning and the staff is super kind and welcoming. They do their best and that helped us a lot today to overcome evident challenges in food quality. For the food, we ordered roasted goose and crispy chicken. First, they only served the goose. It has arrived lukewarm and without any side dish, only the meat. I asked them to bring it back and make it hot and serve us all mains at once when these are ready as it is common in Europe. However, it did not exactly happen as we have hoped for. They served the chicken alone, without side, and it was also lukewarm. We sent it also back, asking them to heat it up. Getting somewhat desperate, using my Google translator, I was asking our waiter if a side dish is coming, and the answer was no, they usually eat goose alone. So we ordered steamed rice and vegetables separately. The next surprise came when they brought us the sides, together with the luke warm chicken but then the goose was still missing….. I have politely asked them to take it all back and asked make EVERYTHING hot and bring these out at once. I usually don’t send back food at any eatery and it felt so bizarre. By now I had a reminiscent feeling of the old Fawlty Towers series (for those of you who are familiar). For us Europeans, cold chicken and goose for dinner is a sloppy dinner especially without any side dish. However, it may be a cultural difference as we have little experience with Chinese cuisine. In the end we got the steamed rice and vegetables hot to our table but both meats were still almost lukewarm and the goose was not as mellow as Ou would expect at such a highly rated restaurant. The cocoa tea and our desserts (oven-baked egg tart, mango sago cream) were excellent. Long story short, 2 main points for improvement: 1) for a Western taste, cold meat without side dish for dinner is a no-go so I recommend this to be highlighted in their menu. 2) Always bring together all meals for each course, not 1 by 1, otherwise it is very annoying for people to wait and their food cools down. I have to praise the stuff for their kind and friendly attitude, trying to help us to overcome an otherwise rather unpleasant culinary experience. I honestly hope they can improve as this place has a lot of potential.

Being located on the 85 floor of 101, this place benefits from the stunning view. In my personal opinion, I find there’s quite a gap between the offering of food and service and the high-end positioning. Of all what we’ve ordered, only the fried rice was quite good. The Sesame Tao Fu Fa sounded interesting, but didn’t have that velvety sesame soupe base, and the Tao Fu Fa taste like Tofu, not the Tao Fu Fa. Not enough personnel is also an issue; we saw only 3 staff attending tables while there were about 8 tables…. Not the kind of experience I expected.

the location is stunning, the view from the 85th floor is something to experience. but what I particularly loved is the quality of the food: great Taiwanese Chinese food. I had a dinner with Taiwanese friends, that confirmed my feelings
