"Chicago has many food halls, but none offer the same type of experience as 88 Marketplace, the Chinese grocer in East Pilsen. The grocery store stocks tons of ingredients not readily available at chain supermarkets. That alone makes it a destination, but the second-floor food court offers wonders, headlined by 312 Fish Market, a sit-down restaurant with one of the most creative sushi menus in town at affordable prices. Find dumplings and other delights from A Place in Northeast, barbecue duck, and more from BBQ King 88. On the first floor, there’s Holu Steakhouse, where diners can find rare, pricey, and delectable cuts of beef along with top-notch cocktails. No stuffy River North steakhouse can compare. Then find Qiao Lin Hotpot, possibly the best hot pot in Chicago. Finally, get something sweet at Pure Tea. It took a while for 88 Marketplace to get going, but it’s now chugging on all cylinders." - Ashok Selvam

Google
The best! During my vacation time I visit Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, China...etc. and this is the only place in numerous surrounding towns where you can find products sold out there. I leave the country for extended periods so it's nice having a place nearby where I can purchase products that I have enjoyed in these other countries and can now have at home.

This is normally a great place. They have specific Asian style ingredients that me and my wife wants so I come here probably once a month or so to get specific things. But they started stupid cart thing. Where you have to put it a quarter to get a cart. I mean who has quarters nowadays? So I walked in asked for a cart.. lady offered to give me change. And I told her I only have big bills and I really don't want change. I just want to go shopping. Then lady luck really gave me 25 cents which I used to get the card and spend $150 on groceries and then as I promised I returned the cart and gave coin back to her. Without this stupid cart thing, they would get five star review. But this is a huge inconvenience for people like me who does not have quarters anymore... Because it's not '90s anymore... Lol

Google
No label with price and dates. It’s not a safe place to buy a produce. Edit: There were no labels at all, neither on top, nor on side or bottom. I checked them as I wanted to buy some.

Google
Good selection! The store is clean and the associates are all very friendly and helpful. So many yummy goodies from my childhood to pick from!

Google
Excellent Asian market! Plan on spending some time going up and down all the aisles because there is so much to see and buy!

Google
I’m giving this place five stars for their enormous variety of hard to find one of kind food items and groceries. They offer Asian themed foods, spices, sauces, produce, specialty fresh meat, and a unique variety of iced fresh seafood and bulk quantities of every type of rice and noodle you can imagine. They also have limited American foods to complete your visit as well. If I had grown up in an Asian country and missed that on special food item from my home country well this is the best place to find it. It’s a cultural experience just to go thru it and you won’t be disappointed as there is something for everyone. Try their in house food kitchen for delicious Vietnamese fresh hot food as well.

Updated...Jan24 I Reiterate the lack of freshness in this store...I bought dry rice noodles...thinking they'd be safe. It had half a dozen visible bugs inside. Gross. ................ Ihave always been suspicious about the quality of the meat, chicken and seafood of this place. I bought some chicken a couple of days ago, the labels all said “best if sold by July 4 “ or even the third or second and yet I visit at the store on the fifth. Which means they do not refresh their product even if it is raw chicken. I purchased the one with the most recent timestamp brought it home and opened it just to find out it was absolutely bad it smelled like rotten fish. It was very disgusting and disappointing. Makes me wonder about the quality of their products in general. Would never buy meat here again, absolutely gross

I really like this place, but unfortunately I don’t think they like me. I’m 6’5 and I’m black… They definitely treated me like I was shoplifting :/

Yelp
The good: This is a good Asian market to buy Filipino goods. It's like 99 Ranch except less Chinese. I got my kids Yan Yan-like hello kitty crackers wkth chocolate dip and they loved it. There's a Filipino bakery attached to this market. They had exotic fruits like durian. They also had a huge selection of ramen. It was fun to browse this market because I haven't seen too many Filipino-centric markets this size. The bad: The check-out area is a bit cramped. The interesting: They sold beef bile in the frozen section.

Yelp
I used to love coming here, but I have no clue what happened recently but your customer service is sorely lacking more than normal. The people working and stocking in the aisles are very rude and unhelpful, the cashiers you had working today were also giving the same attitudes. One worker in an aisle, squeezed in front of me between me and the shelf while I was about to grab a couple items when he could have passed behind me. It's like you just hired a bunch or bored, angsty, entitled, cheap labor that couldn't care less to be there. Be better, do better, have pride in your store and serving the community that supports you!

Yelp
I don't frequently visit this market due to my work schedule, but each time I visit it reminds me that I should shop there more frequently. Great place to feed and satisfy my love for Asian cuisine without the hassles of reservations, ordering, or takeout wait. Especially, when you love to cook! 88 Ranch Market offers seafood, meats, vegetables, canned goods, and dry goods for preparing Thai, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and other Asian cuisine. Items you will not find in your local grocery store. Prices vary, well worth it.

Yelp
Was happy to have found this Asian market in Temecula, unfamiliar territory for me. Lots of Asian delights, cookware, snacks, vegetables, meats, and sweets. Grabbed a few snack items to take to the hotel. Helpful staff. A medium sized Asian market. Looks like they are bringing in a bakery next door.

Maureen J.

Yelp
It's one of the few Asian markets in Temecula so prices can get pretty expensive for certain items compared to surrounding areas such as San Diego and Orange County. Workers aren't always the friendliest, but they do their job. There are various Asian food items to select from but sometimes I question the freshness of the food. The store could be much more cleaner and organized; however, it appears they are trying to rearrange the store at the moment.. They also recently added a crane arcade, which I plan to try out sometime with the kiddos. There's not much competition so I still have to go here lol I can't wait for the 85 degrees bakery to open!

Esme B.

Yelp
Stop by to try the bakery for a quick snack. A small but spacious area to seat and eat or to get a plate to go. Tried the beef empanadas and they were amazing 10/10 it was baked so flakey and crispy at the same time. Also got an egg dessert. Services was fast and efficient.

Lauren D.

Yelp
Not perfect, but helpful when you're in need of certain Asian ingredients. This store is a lifesaver for when my mom needs something for a dish and the American grocery stores don't have it. There are also a lot of foods that they don't have, but they have a majority of them. We discovered the store when we badly needed this Korean BBQ sauce and called to see if they had any. Someone there picked up the phone right away and we were able to stop by just before they closed! The shop is fairly clean for an Asian grocery store, but the workers aren't exactly welcoming. We went to the butcher and the guys there just glared at us. The prices are a bit higher than the Asian supermarkets down in Orange County, but it makes sense considering they're the only Asian market within 50 miles. Overall, really great for Asian ingredients that you can't find at other grocery stores.

Paulina G.

Yelp
Favorite local place to pick up items for dinner, and specialty items. The place is clean and well stocked all the time.

Leilani M.

Yelp
In the area and saw this market decided to see what it had to offer. It's 99 Ranch's cousin. Cousin 88 who lives down by the river. Not as large and bright but still the familiar Asian groceries, cookware and bakery. A few items we purchased were priced a little lower than 99. Was a little busy on the weekend but they had ample registers open. I did not purchase any produce or proteins but will make another stop when I'm in the area.

Yelp
After spending years in Louisiana and recently relocating to California I found it quite difficult to find Live Blue Crab in my area; so my journey began and WALA I found Live Blue Crab at 88 Ranch Market Ynez Rd. I Boiled them up and they were full and and very sweet and delicious I enjoyed them and will be returning.

Zinnia R.

Yelp
It's the place to go to buy fresh seafood, meats, vegetables and fruits. They also have a lot of dry goods to choose from.

Diego R.

Yelp
I was looking for Korean sweet potato noodles to make Japchae,Kewpie- Japanese mayo and a few Filipino condiments. Awesome, that everything I wanted was under one roof! Customer service was great. The young cashier was friendly and helpful...she was cute too!

Ella P.

Yelp
The food selection is amazing, i love shopping for groceries or if I need to pop in to grab a quick hot meal before work. Staff is super helpful and quick at the checkout, overall super awesome shop I highly recommend.

Loretta M.

Yelp
Pre packed okra is a mix of tough pieces and only a few good ones . I have to say something because it didn't only happen 3 times but multiple times so I stopped buying most of my veggies there

Beverly K.

Yelp
I bought these ribs on Friday, made my own marinade of fresh ginger, garlic, soy sauce , brown sugar, and teriyaki sauce. Flip the freezer marinating bags for 2 days in the fridge and grilled to a medium rare doneness. They came out really good. Plenty of delicious char. You can request a special thickness for your ribs from the in house butcher. I have done that in the past. This batch was made with what he already had pre-sliced inside the glass cabinets. They have fresh rice noodles, a nice produce section and a huge variety of sweets and treats. Each isle has a variety of Asian food ingredients to take home and try. I made an incredibly simple stir fry to accompany these ribs. Go for their fresh Thai Basil and stalks of lemongrass.

Lynette S.

Yelp
They changed up the floor plan a bit recently, service is good. Decent variety of products. Smaller than Zion, H-mart and 99 ranch but it's good enough.

Boo B.

Yelp
Great place to get asian fresh fruits, herbs, vegetables, canned items, and other supplies. But beware, some products spoil very fast like soybean custard in the fridge and some meats. When bought at other asian stores, they are fine. So inspect closely before buying. If you bring your own bags, you are expected to bag your own items like during covid. So be prepared to bag your own stuff if you decide to reuse your bags. Note that this place has a bakery inside as well.

Nee Nee P.

Yelp
Friendly staff and amazing products they have here! Fresh produce and shelves are stocked and clean. Come check them out!

Yelp
What a gem of a find! I've been looking for an Asian grocery store that's within an hour's driving distance of me and alas, I found 88 Ranch. The store is well-organized, clean, and has a myriad of ingredients in every section. I am a feen for a great Asian food market, so I took my time perusing up and down the aisles to see all their offerings. I could've walked out having purchased $100+ worth of ingredients, but alas, I chose to behave this time around. I ended up purchasing a handful of times with my favorite find being chrysanthemum tea. I was surprised to see that 88 Ranch only has 3 stars on Yelp. I'd honestly give it, at minimum, 4 stars!

Geri S.

Yelp
I've been fortunate enough to have found this place, there isn't a lot of variety or options for Asian food specially Asian hot fast food. I travel a lot and drove by this place a lot bro knowing it was a grocery store with a cafe inside serving amazing food. I do think maybe clarification on certain items might be nice, the food speaks for itself, everything is so good and tasty, you won't regret anything you get here. I recommend the shumai or the Lumpia inside the cafe, though honestly even the cup of noodles are good.

Tania T.

Yelp
Thank you 88 ranch! Most of my friends dont believe there's such a thing as 88 ranch. We grew up with 99 ranch being our primary supplier when it comes to asian groceries. This place pretty much have everything that we would look for in an asian market. From vegetable oil to sauces to snacks to spices to instant noodles. The prices are a bit more pricier but it could be due to inflation? Who knows. My favorite 2 aisles are shown in the pictures. The instant noodles and the snacks! :D

Gloria G.

Yelp
Robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot. Bad security. The supermarket has few varieties and high prices.

Pimlada I.

Yelp
Asian market with all you need in one-stop shopping. I think prices are cheaper than those at 99 Ranch Market.

Sokea P.

Yelp
Honestly not the best priced market, most items are more expensive than other markets. Usually crammed near the registers. 85% of the time cashiers are not very happy. Overall, aisle are too small for ing people to have to make room or maneuver around each other. The last trip there, the cashier did not say hello nor make any eye contact. At the end she grabbed the receipt, missing on the first try then handing it with her head turned away from us. Worst experience so far. The only reason for 3 stars is because of convenience. Living in Perris, it is hard to find asian produce and ingredients. This is the only reason why I would need to go to 88 Ranch. Obviously a copy of 99 ranch, but this is much closer to me than the 99 ranch in Corona. Still looking for a decent asian market that my family can go to for our regular ingredients. Good luck, it is definitely a hit and miss with any type of customer service.

Paul V.

Yelp
Place is decent. Don't know how they organize the shelves, but the sign hanging from the ceiling says tea, and only found coffee in the aisle. Place is like a maze, but good to explore where things are. Not really a fan of the Aldi style shopping carts when not have a coin handy, but do understand why.

Hopia S.

Yelp
Please do a better job stocking the shelves with items that are not already expired. I enjoy the selection and prices but there must be a better way to check inventory to prevent having bad products go out right? This has happened multiple times and each time they've refunded me but it shouldn't happen at all. Will continue to support because I have hope they'll get it together (and I constantly check the expiration date before purchase) but if they dont turn things around there's always Island Pacific..

Richard W.

Yelp
Had my favorite Filipino beer. Got lost and staff were very friendly. Being next to Yrinneys bakery is very helpful

Lola S.

Yelp
I love it here! This was my first visit at this store. I usually shop at Island Pacific for the special items I need. This store is well stocked and has large varieties of various products. For example, the rice section had every type of rice you can think of and they came in different sizes. Loved it!! I did not have my husband with me so I settled for a 25 pound bag of Jasmine rice. The isles were wide and well organized. I enjoyed just browsing at the wide array of products. Checkout was simple and quick as there were multiple cashiers working. I did not have enough time to check out the food bar but plan to next time.

S. S.

Yelp
Unethical & likely racist. I was told one price at one register when I got to the next register the price has doubled. I asked the young lady & guy what had changed and she just stood there with a stupid grin on her face. I recently moved to this area from Pasadena. I've bern a customer for years, I influenced others to shop there. I will not give my business to people & establishments that don't value or respect me!

Faith S.

Yelp
Selling noodles that have molds already, Wasted our time and money, merchandise are not supposed to be in the floor if they check their stocks especially the one in the cold section. FDA watch out to this store.

Mariah D.

Yelp
My husband and I ate at the restaurant here and the food is so good! I've never had Filipino food that good! You have to try their adobo, karekare, and halo-halo! Also, go early. We made it just in time before it started getting crazy for lunch. I saw a review a couple months about the service being bad and the food or something but it might have just been a bad day or it was towards the end of the day. Worth the drive and definitely worth the money!

Roger R.

Yelp
I love this place, it has high quality foods. It's cheaper to buy your groceries here than all the other stores, and you get to explore new cultures.

Jeff N.

Yelp
88 Ranch is an excellent place to shop for Asian Foods, with a wide variety of mushrooms including enoki, white shimeji, seafood mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, shiitake & many more, a decent choice of fruits & vegetables including baby bok choy. Sauces of every type line the rows with many choices in terms of Noodles. There's frozen fish, fresh fish, fresh squid suitable for frying, ready-to-eat packaged tobiko & seaweed salad. I've only shopped in the store a few times but each time I discover more items and cool foods I want to try out.

Phatima K.

Yelp
Please make sure you guys check out your receipts, the price on the shelves for a lot of items rings up more than what it is priced at on the shelf...this happened to me a couple times & today I was there & watched the screen as the cashier rang up my stuff & it happened again but this time I notified her about it, so she had to go run to go check out the prices on the shelves & sure enough they were charging me more, it was such a waste of time but someone has to bring it to their attention!

Kathy O.

Yelp
I love this place. It's just so fun to browse and see all the unique items they carry. There's nothing like it in this area. If I can't go to Ranch 99 in San Diego, this is the next best thing. I like to go to 88 periodically to try new things. Employees are helpful and always courteous. They have a nice selection of Asian dishes and cookware too.

Taleena P.

Yelp
I moved to Temecula about a year ago and was upset there wasn't Asian markets until I discovered there actually is some! I love coming to 88 Ranch. I usually go to 99 Ranch, but 88 Ranch is basically the same. It has everything I could ever need when I come to grocery shop here. I especially come here for snacks or Asian vegetables. Even for spicy Samyang noodles! The employees are always so nice and helpful when I come to visit. Everything is well organized and it's easy to find where everything is!

Jimmy J.

Yelp
Living here in Temecula there are not much Filipino places to buy your basic Filipino ingredients to make at home. I love coming here and buying things I can't buy at a local American grocery store. You do need to check the expiration dates though as they seem to miss taking them off the shelves. But this is the place I frequent to buy my canned goods and chitchiria or snacks that I wouldn't normally find somewhere else. They also have many other Asian products that I purchase here. Love finding Filipino vegetables such as malungay and the dried fish products, also the Asian chips and candies and teas. If I'm home in Temecula this is where I go but when I'm home in San Diego then I go to Seafood City. This place is not that big but you will find the basic needs and more.

Anela A.

Yelp
Employees are amazing and i can always find my favorite snacks in stock here, overall my visits are always a delight

Carol E.

Yelp
One of my favorite markets for anything Asian .great variety of products to fill my need for when I cook yummy food I've been a loyal customer every since they first opened

Alfredo B.

Yelp
I hate and i love this place i love this place because of all the filipino products they have and you can fry shrimp or fish for free but i hate this place aswell because everytime i shop here secret shoppers and the workers make you feel weirded out cause they constantly follow you to see if your going to get something i know they are trying to catch the thieves but why wont you have somebody check the security cameras but not let the customer feel that they are being watched its a weird vibe for real rather go to another asian market.

Edith S.

Yelp
I bought FOUR boxes of mochi ice cream from this location. All four boxes had melted mochi inside them. I only live 5 miles away from this location so it wasn't melted in transit. I contacted 88 ranch online but haven't heard back. I wouldn't recommend buying frozen products from this location.

Mark C.

Yelp
Best place to get Chinese groceries, good meat and seafood section. All the spices, sauces and veggies to cook a 8-9 course dinner. Here in Corona or in Las Vegas

Dorian G.

Yelp
There is an employee by the name of Mrs. sassy she is very informative and knows where everything is located in the store. She also answered the phone and help me figure out what I needed to prepare my Thai green curry. I'm a disabled veteran and don't comprehend very well, she help me out tremendously

ur m.

Yelp
This store is such a good place to shop! They have a wide variety of snacks and and foods from different cultures it's really a nice place to shop. The food is always really good and I always enjoy shopping here! The cashiers are always super helpful and nice and I 100% recommend shopping here!

Joy J.

Yelp
I come here once in a while since it's pretty much the only major asian grocery store closest to where I live. First, I like that they clean and fry your fish for you. I'm Filipino, but I don't fry stuff in my house and certainly don't want that fishy smell in it, either. This place is the next best thing to Seafood City, which I wish would come out here! Second, they have a good selection of asian products and prices are ok. They've gone up in recent years due to inevitable inflation of course. My 2nd to last visit here, I bought a 15 lb bag of rice which was clearly marked 16.99, and some lady was doing a demo on some fried rice seasoning packets. I grabbed 2 because they were "on sale" 2 for $2 as the sign was clearly posted on her demo table. Bring my bag of rice and packets of seasoning to check out... I'm kind of in a rush and after I drive off, notice they charged me 17.99 for the bag of rice and 1.19 for the packets. Smh. Not a big deal, but it's annoying when you have price tags telling you how much stuff is and then they charge you more. They need to update price tags and what's in their systems. Employees are sometimes friendly and some of the guys who work at the fish counter don't even speak English. I still come once in a while if I'm in the area, but I wish a major asian store would open up in Menifee. We really need one besides the tiny mom and pop shop off Bradley.

Matt M.

Yelp
Well stocked and good variety. At the time of writing this the business has 3 stars which is ridiculously low when it has more than any other of the specialty markets I have been to in the area.

Andrea M.

Yelp
They have a huge selection of asian goodies! Love this place! Cashiers are quick not too bad. I love coming here whenever I miss my asian goodies or food.

Lorelen N.

Yelp
Typically good and decently priced. Beware of the egg noodles. I asked a rep about the choices and he was great. However, When I unpacked it to cook, there was mold. Yup, mold! Very disatifying and disgusting to see. Perhaps Ill just stick to fresh produce and dry goods.

Stephanie N.

Yelp
I love 88 Ranch. It's my go to Asian grocery here in Temecula. They have another big Asian grocery here, but the other store is very limited & mostly only Filipino items. 88 has Filipino, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc. I can always count on them to have the unique Asian vegetables or spices I'm looking for. They have a nice produce area, and also great prices on their fresh fish & shrimp. If you want, they can fry the fish for you. All for free. I'm also a fan of the Filipino restaurant inside the store. Everything I ordered tasted just like mom's & tasted as it should. I love their chicken empanada. My fav. Come try it next time you're at 88. I recommend the ube pillows in the snack aisle too.
