I got the California Turkey Bacon Melt and it was really good. I opted for the onion rings as the side. The onion rings were great, cooked very crispy. They were fresh and not frozen from a bag. We were with a large group, 22 of us, and had one server. She was awesome. She stayed on top of everything order wise, got all the drinks correct etc. Good place to grab lunch if you’re in the area.

Google
Loved the atmosphere here especially with all the TVs on sporting events. Server was awesome and fast with their service. Menu had many good options to choose from buy I settled on the reuben and that was out of this world because instead of sliced corned beef it was pulled corned beef. Never had a reuben better than that! The fries were also just amazing and perfectly crispy to serve as great complement to my sandwich.

Google
Super fast pickup order, under 10 minutes! Food was delicious! The wings with the Korean BBQ sauce were excellent. Salad was meh. Chicken sandwich was also fantastic!

Brooke Vasquez

Google
Good food, kind of bad service but not in mood or personality, just didn't see our waitress for a long time or really at all during our visit. Clubhouse sandwich was great, burger was flavorful, and fries were cooked perfectly!

Google
Ordered the lemon chicken breast for a take home dinner. I was surprised to see rather than a real chicken breast I got 3 naked chicken fingers from the childrens menu. I added a quarter to the picture for scale and also took a photo of my wifes Cajun Chicken Pasta (for the same price). She got a great portion which looked like it didnt come from the kids menu. The chicken was super dry. I would have at least appreciated the bbq sauce, fries and ketchup to help rifle them down.

Google
Our group had the Buffalo chicken wrap and the breakfast burger. Both were amazing. The portions are very generous. We also had the cheese curds for an appetizer. Service was quick and food was great

Kristie O

Google
Average food overall but there are some dishes that really take the cake. The brioche French toast is great. There is a popcorn machine always full and free. Lots of sitting space, staff is great. A good spot in the hub of downtown. Decor is simple, sports bar vibe. Nothing spectacular but clean. Prices are good.

Google
We popped into the 8th Street Grill for a night cap and met bartender Matt and server Susan, who were so warm and fun that we came back the following night. They gave us lots of good food and drink recommendations in town and near our hotel and made us feel right at home. We’re always searching for the best bars with friendly and fun service and we rarely find one so quickly on our travels. We definitely lucked out! Great drinks, we didn’t try the food but it smelled and looked really good. We will be back next year if not sooner! ✨

Korin P.

Yelp
Great place with great people. We were visiting from Chicago and it was a busy Saturday night with a rush. The hospitality offered here is A+! The food was delicious. Glad we stopped in.

Yelp
A downtown mainstay. Fun vibe. Surprisingly good bar menu. Super convenient location with a ton of street and ramp parking nearby. A dependable standby for happy hour or night cap. Service can be wildly spotty

Paul B.

Yelp
Place is good, low key, clean environment. Sat at the bar, bartender Matt was cool, food delicious. Get the waffle cut fries. Burger and cheese curds good too. Nice beer selection on tap.

Yelp
I happen to stumble upon this place after walking to another location and finding out that it moved to another address. I am totally happy of that accident because I greatly enjoyed my time here. I ended up showing up five minutes before the end of happy hour which ends at 7 PM during the weekday. As well on Thursdays is trivia night. So I ended up doing trivia where I did lose but one of the teams that did win was very kind and gave me one of their $10 gift cards. I ultimately order two drinks before happy hour was over and enjoyed my time out at the sports bar. If I was a local, I definitely could see myself stopping by here as on the weekends, they're happy hour is all day. Such a nice way to be able to be there to watch some sports. It is also in a pretty nice spot to be able to check out other areas afterwards.
google avatar

Travis S.

Yelp
Great place to watch the games. Great prices and service. Can get any salad as a wrap. Tons of TV's and friendly service. Great waffle fries. Stiff drinks. Cool sports bar ambiance.

Yelp
Excellent food and attentive service! We visited 8th Street Grill for dinner in Aug 2024 during our flight layover in Minneapolis. Based on reviews and location we expected an ok American fair at best. However, the restaurant surprised us by an excellent food quality, absolutely amazing salmon baked on cedar plank, and our waitress Christine with whom we had an interesting conversation about literature! This visit turned into an experience rather than just a food stop. Thank you, Christine! We certainly recommend 8th Street Grill if you are in the area! Appetizers Cheese Curds - fresh and yummy Cesar salad Entrees Cedar Plank Salmon - this was a masterpiece! It was fresh, juicy, and literally melting in the mouth! It was more like a Chilean seabass with no hint of dryness. The spices and brown sugar glaze gave it an amazing delicate flavor. This was certainly one of the best salmons I ever had! Cajun Seared Salmon - this one was delicious as well and salmon was fresh, juicy, and flavorful Chicken Sandwich with Pepper Jack and Avocado - excellent. My son finished it in no time. Chicken Tenders - good quality chicken tenders according to my daughter :)

Yelp
I met up some coworkers for a drink at a bar/grill in downtown Minneapolis. We used to come to the bars often for happy hour qhen I worked in downtown. We saw their featured desserts and tried the ube cheesecake. That was delicious! I wished I could've ordered 2 more to take home. This bar is pretty big, long with 2 rooms. You'll see the bar at the entrance but go behind the bar to the dining rooms. Our server was great, she was a friend of a friend.
google avatar

Barbara T.

Yelp
Great spot for drinks and apps. The server was helpful and friendly and the food and drinks were wonderful. Would return.

Yelp
Went to find a late night place to eat after arriving in town and this place surely hit the spot. Our waitress was quick to take our orders and food came out pretty quick. It wasn't too busy even though a game had just ended. You can really go wrong with burgers and fries though!

Daisy W.

Yelp
I went this place for dinner before a concert, the area is pretty nice and the food was all great! We ordered simple things but the food was super hot and fresh the chicken tenders were really crispy snd yummy and the pizza had a good cheese pull.
google avatar

Ellie B.

Yelp
Great place to go for lunch if you are working downtown! I had the buffalo chicken wrap with waffle fries and it was delicious. Service was great too!
google avatar

Ronda B.

Yelp
Christine and Lisa were great! Thank you for taking such great care of us. Foosld was amazing. Shots not terrible. lol

Yelp
We tried out the 8th street grill and Taphouse because it was across the street from our hotel. They have outdoor seating but we didn't sit there since it was 10 degrees outside. Lots of seating inside. They have a bar area and then booths and table throughout a larger space. They have about 25 beers on tap - plus your standard Miller, bud, and coors light. The server was great! We started with the cheese curds that were pretty good. I got the parks burger that came with fries, I subbed for waffle fries and it came with a spiced Mayo that was really good! The parks burger was cheese, bacon, and bbq sauce. My husband for the Reuben, he said the bread was toasted perfectly and it was very flavorful. Two beers, an appetizer, and 2 meals, our total was $80.

Jody V.

Yelp
No wait, a table by the window, quick attention and follow-up checks throughout the meal AND the best Caesar salad with salmon I ever had (and I order it a lot ) So good we ate there twice during our 5 days in Minneapolis.

Jay G.

Yelp
Older lady was incredibly rude. She worked around 5pm on saint patrick's day, which I understand can be stressful, but I was in no way rude. I just asked a question and she was very snippy.
google avatar

Raymond S.

Yelp
Five stars just for the treatment we received. Grandson needed to use the bathroom so I had a beer. I cashed out immediately as I told the bartender it seemed my parking spot expired at four (it was 3:55) He said it did and he kept an eye for the tow truck-they are very serious on the time as the parking lane has to open up for rush hour. All well that ends well, put stop, cold beer (great tap by the way-ton of choices). Would love to spend more time there.
google avatar

Joel L.

Yelp
Another great spot for post-work drinks downtown! Easy to access off Marquette Ave and lots of bar and grill food options!
google avatar

Thomas K.

Yelp
The service and food were lacking. I ordered my burger medium rare, and it was well, well done. Server never came back to check on me. For over $16 for a burger, I expect more! Definitely don't recommend this place, and I will not be back!!

Yelp
It had been well over a decade since last I visited the 8th Street Grill. I'd met a friend downtown after work on Friday to chat and hang out before heading home. We got wings, queso, and French onion soup. I still feel puzzled by the soup, which had slices of bread on top in a decorative fashion and a little bit of cheese. The whole point of FOS is to scoop up cheese with the crouton inside the soup. The broth was salty, as well. The wings, to my mind, should have been cooked longer. I really hate soft wings, and these were very soft. The flavor was ok; nothing to write home about. The queso comes with large slices of jalapeno on top. This is the only source of "heat" with this dip. I felt that the jalapenos should have been diced and placed on top so that they could be integrated into the dip as it was scooped out. The chips were pretty good. Not salty and and light, crispy texture. Service was good, so overall, it was an enjoyable time. I'll just try something different when I happen to stop by again. I did like that it wasn't too loud as well.

Yelp
My friend and I visited this bar after grabbing some dinner. It was really close to our hotel. We happen to walk in and grabbed a table by the door. We ordered a couple beers, (first two beers were wrong, but the second round was correct.) The waitress was really nice and helpful. The people in the table next to us was really nice as well as we chatted with them for a bit. Overall, a good corner bar that I would go to again.

Yelp
Minneapolis definitely isn't the place to go for dining. Tried 8th Street Tavern tonight, small crowd, lack-luster service and food was nothing to brag about. Order was wrong, food way over price. Another strike for this town.

Yelp
Stumbled on this place when Hell's Kitchen said they were open but they were really closed. It's a neighborhood bar and had some outdoor seating. The smell from the outside drew me in. Seated quickly and my drink order was taken immediately. Couldn't believe how quick my food came out and it was on point. Hot fries, juicy buffalo chicken sandwich and a nice portioned side salad. Drink stayed full which I was thankful for. Skip Hells Kitchen and try this place.

Alexandra L.

Yelp
Andres and Alex were fantastic bartenders. Super personable and attentive. We came two days in a row while in MSP and were more than pleased both days! Highly recommend bellying up to the bar and enjoying the atmosphere here!
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
Atmosphere is hard explain as two loud drunks were at the bar, bartender comes across angry with zero personality, but the drink I had was well made. Food looked good, but didn't order because of the first two issues . Can't imagine going back

Yelp
Happy to find another Packers bar in Minneapolis, especially downtown. Stopped by for the first time on a Friday, not empty but not packed either. Service was poor at the door but once we were seated that was turned around into great service. Expansive beer menu and a food menu that will have something for everybody. Really enjoyed their Chicken Parmesan sandwich and the crispy onion rings. The patio outside is dog friendly and is right along the sidewalk, perfect for people watching. Would recommend this spot if you're in the area.

Chad M.

Yelp
The food and drinks are good the atmosphere is good, they just charge so much extra that they will not tell you about and does not show on the menu. Condiments are $1-2 each and fries they ask to go with your burger are also charged. Big let down when you find out how much you are really spending vs what the menu tells you what ur spending.
google avatar

Byra N.

Yelp
They have a good menu but it wasn't the best food and they didn't honor their happy hour prices. Definitely don't recommend the Rueben. The staff were nice.
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
If you go after 6pm it might be closed regardless of posted hours. So....Good luck with that.
google avatar

Shane S.

Yelp
I am not from Minnesota but every time I visit Minneapolis I have to stop at 8th Street Grill & Taphouse. The atmosphere of this place with the incredible food is hard to beat. Serena was our waiter, she was very kind and took good care of us.
google avatar

Carlos M.

Yelp
Had some pretzels bites great selection of beer!! My wife order Cajun pasta and I ordered 8th street burger .
google avatar

Patrick M.

Yelp
Great food, cold beer, good service and great bar conversation If you are a local or visiting for business, its worth a stop

Annah M.

Yelp
amazing place with amazing people! especially the waitress named ryon! she was amazing and so friendly!!!

Paige S.

Yelp
Christine was amazing! Top notch services. Attentive and friendly. Made sure we always had our drinks filled.

Lauren V.

Yelp
One man on the staff was incredibly rude to me and my senior mother while we ate outside. There are ways you can get what you want without being mean to customers. Will never come again.
google avatar

Kathie A.

Yelp
Krista was our server admittedly our table was probably not fun for her since we arrived after the beer festival at the convention center but nevertheless we had issues that should not have happened. We had a large group that ordered a variety of items one person in our party had their order lost (wings and onion rings). The restaurant seemed overwhelmed by the numbers of patrons. Our table never did get napkins let alone silverware. The food that we did get was good and served hot. Because of the issues I can't give it a higher score.

Yelp
It was on the late side of Saturday night. I had gone to see a play at the Guthrie and started walking back to the Hotel, but looking for something to eat. All I wanted was basically a Midwest bar atmosphere that served food. I was a bit too indecisive for my own good and actually overshot the Hotel before settling on the 8th Street Grill and Tap House. I settled into the front part of the establishment and close to TVs above the bar. Warriors vs. Trail Blazers was on and the first micro brew (Surly Darkness) arrived quickly. I ordered a cheese pizza off the late night menu and settled in. The pizza was very good and the waiter was very attentive with the order and when it was time for the next beer. I've never had any problem exploring a city on my own, and this evening was very enjoyable. At the same time, a night of theater and dinner is a much better experience when Gayle is there too.

Evelyn M.

Yelp
Traveling from out of town and came here a few times my favorites where the Park Cafe burger add avocado and extra bbq on the side. Yummm and queso Blanco with extra jalapeños please Today my server was Jenny and she was a sweetheart really happy to have met her on my last day here before traveling back to Los Angeles. I came in wanting something comforting to eat and she recommended the Parmesan chicken pasta Very delicious and left me feeling happy that my last meal here was a hit.

Yelp
I ventured here to watch a football game and wasn't disappointed. I read several reviews about how 8th street was a Packer bar and decided to give it a go. There was certainly a decent amount of fans, but nothing like the Herkeimer. There were a lot of TVs and honestly there wasn't a single seat without a view (at the bar). It wasn't crowded and there was plenty of seating. They have outdoor seating and they open it up in the summer so even if your outside you can see the TVs. Decent beer selections on tap and service was good for how busy it was. Food was on the expensive side, especially for what you got but it was good. I had the Plank Salmon (dont judge, sometimes you crave salmon.....and for some reason I thought it was salmon dip when I ordered it). The salmon was perfectly cooked and seasoned really well. Overall it was good, it was just my wallet wasn't happy that for 2 beers and an entree I was looking at close to $40 after tip.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful experience, we came on Valentine's day after they stopped serving food (our bad) and our server was so sweet and still brought us the brownie sundae we had hoped for, overall good vibes and amazing staff

Josh W.

Yelp
I was there on 11/9 during the day. I sat at the bar and the atmosphere is great; music on point. I had a melt which was excellent. The best part was the bartender, Dre. He was very attentive and had a lot of regulars which was great to see. He even handled a not so nice customer (and later the husband) with understanding and compassion which to me was the highlight as I might not have done so in his shoes. He kept his cool and continued excellent service to everyone. Keep on doing your thing 8th street, and especially Dre. I'll be back next time!

Yelp
I stopped in here on 5-6-2019 with my nephew and some colleagues. Our server was "Austin." He was amazing!! Exceptional!! Now, the food. I ordered he clubhouse sandwich with tater tots and a half house salad. Iced tea to drink. The food was great. The sandwich was big! Fresh ingredients. Fresh bread. The tater tots were a pleasant surprise. Crunchy and hot. One of my favorite food items. The half house salad was good too. Fresh ingredients. It was worth the short walk from my hotel. I would definitely come back again.

Jon S.

Yelp
Can't give it more than 3 stars. As an out-of-towner I always ask "what are you known for" or "what can I get here than I cannot get anywhere else." Server told me they were a grill, and had "regular grill items-- we aren't known for anything. Nor should they be. Club sandwich: standard; beer menu: standard; menu: standard. If you're looking for a smoky grill/bar, you'll be fine.

Melinda M.

Yelp
Very nice beer selection and attentive but not overbearing service, but seriously, get the Ruben.
google avatar

Trish S.

Yelp
You've got to get in and try the weekend breakfast menu! The eggs 'n ham benedict is the real deal; perfectly poached eggs, REAL hollandaise and awesome potatoes on the side. Elyse is the sweetest server, so be sure to sit in her section. With Happy Hour all weekend, you cannot lose at 8th Street. It's ALL good!

Monica E.

Yelp
The service was very nice. The food was so-so. I had the Cajun pasta, which was pretty enjoyable. My husband has a burger, which was not seasoned and seemed like a frozen patty that was heated up. His tater tots were really good!
google avatar

Kassie H.

Yelp
Ordered Bud Light & it was flat, told the bartender it was flat and asked for a new beer- he said "why? the next one will be the same". Hmmmm can I get a different TYPE of beer???? Moved from the bar.... ordered a summer shandy, MUCH better! Ordered a coors light...ALSO flat- they again didn't seem to care. (WTF) Oh happy hour is $5.50 for FLAT beer! On a good note...Dakota is an amazing server, tip him well. When I moved from the bar to a table, our server was very attentive & helpful.

Yelp
Living in downtown Minneapolis I decided to go for a long walk and ended up here on the way back. It's crossed my path a few times, but hadn't had a chance to try it out. Cool spot on 8th and Marquette. It has a patio area right outside and also parts under the the shade of the building. There's a nice quaint bar area that's centralized with an dining area extending along one side. TVs view-able all around the bar too. I ordered up their Smokehouse Burger which drew my eye on the menu with its pulled pork on top of a char-grilled patty. It had a barbecue sauce in it as well; just enough and not too much. Other than that pretty standard with the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. Taste-wise the burger as a whole was okay. Not very tasty beyond the light barbecue flavor and beefiness (not very savory or any distinct unforgettable flavors). I also got a side salad which was okay. The spring mix wasn't incredibly fresh :( and the pulled pork wasn't juicy at all nor quite tender enough to be on the top of a hefty beef patty. All in all, it's an okay spot. The service was also just okay :/ I probably wouldn't go back unless it was convenient to do so (luckily it's in a good spot walking all around downtown).

Sophia A.

Yelp
Went for lunch today, most amazing French toast I've ever had (compliments to the chef) and at an amazing price too. Staff was wonderful, our waitress deserves a raise. Great time. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the downtown area.

Yelp
Sitting here with a drink after waiting 25 minutes. Had to end up going to the bar to get one drink because gawd knows when I could get the chance to close it. This is the 2nd time this has happened at this venue. First time was pre Covid
