This is my second visit to 8th Street market and I was thrilled to find out that the Dough Zone has moved into the area. They have (or had) a Red Wagon on A Street. It is a place of Asian cuisine full of great flavors from delicious rose pork(cha siu), Asian entrees and noodles. There is a Filipino food booth Kayle Manila with wonderful flavors from the Philippines. There's a large cheese area with such an elaborate array of cheeses and crackers with extra deliciousness to accompany it. A gift shop is full of great gift ideas for the cooks in your friend or family circle and of course for yourself as well. As I sat there with a friend a delightful woman in an apron came by with a sample -- a SATISFYING and REFRESHING, sample of the gelato she sells along with cream to compliment the gelato I HAD to of course visit her booth. Her booth is called (now savor this thought) The Happy Wagon! Appropriately named for the gelato and cream as well as reflection of Christy the delightful woman in the apron! Then there is also a very intriguing Colombian food booth which I have yet to experience. All this is only on the 8th street side of the building beyond that comes more exploring but there's a coffee booth and a beer booth and... AND a shuffle board!!!! absolutely WONDERFUL tables and chairs throughout to provide a welcome feel and they must have free WiFi because there were many laptops out on each table like if you have a business but no office WHAT A GREAT PLACE TO work! Lol. That's only the middle of things because as you venture further north of the building the Brightwater culinary school is there and you can watch them through their massive windows (get them nervous as the measure, mix and stir) and then THEN, there's Yeyo's Mexican which I hear a lot about but have yet to try but it certainly is a BUSY place so it must live up to its fame, then there's handmade chocolatier Fitz Markham (forgive me if I spelled that wrong) next to Yeyo's brilliant idea, though, dinner or lunch and dessert -- DECADENT dessert to follow. I didn't visit the Bike Rack Brewery, well I'll need to find my way there the next time! Altogether 8th Street market is a great "Hangout" for food, drink, socializing and, yes, even work (as was evident by those numerous laptops and what seemed like meetings...) I've posted a few new photos hope you all get to find your way there one day soon if you haven't been there already.
