8th Street Sweet Spot

They have great burgers here, but the incredible time it takes them to cook it and serve you your food. When they’re not that busy is incredible I won’t be back.

Review Date: September 20th, 2016 How sweet it is. I stopped by this little Ice Cream Shack on the way back from a day in Lincoln, IL and it was a great way to end the day. As with any Ice Cream Shack, it offers a very expansive menu for being in a little building. All I got was a Peanut Butter Malt and was it good. It was comparable to the one I had at The Spotted Cow in Peoria, IL. I wouldn’t mind going back and trying their food, as I love me some tenderloins. Oddly enough, they don’t have a Yelp page, but you can find some reviews via google or their Facebook page. The only thing to be wary about are the one-way roads in Pekin, IL. They are a hassle no matter where you go, so it can lead to some minor confusion if you aren’t accustomed to it. But 8th Street is well worth the navigational issues.

I haven't tried any of the actual food, but their ice cream is top-notch! I love the Raspberry Wafflecone Chiller. The last time I went, they were working their butt off to serve everyone in a timely manner. Location is logistically odd, but I won't take that away from how good this place is.

I wish they would update the hours they are actually open and serving online. What an inconvenience to their customers. Me and 4 other cars had to turn and leave. Thats a lot of business they missed out on. Won't be back for the rest of their season.

Absolutely love the Sweet Spot, every year I look forward to it and it's amazing ice cream!

Got ice cream for my partner and I, they gave me half melted ice cream which proceeded to get all over my hands. My partners ice cream was fine. Which implies mine sat until hers was done, because we got it at the same time. It's hot out, ice creams cold it melts quick when it's 90 degrees out. Give me my ice cream when it's done. I had to put it in the freezer when I got home.

They advertise that their grill is open until 8:30. I sat in the drive thru for 25 minutes until 8:20 just to be told that the grill had already closed. First and last time I ever visit this place. Thanks for nothing.

I came and got ice cream and food the two younge ladies morgan and shelby were amazing they were very kind and respectful five stars!
