Yelp
If you are a single, older woman, looking to eat alone, don't bother coming here. Rude service. I said "Hi, can I get a menu? " to the server who looks at me and keeps walking. She gets behind the counter and says "How many?" I'm standing there alone-I said"Me." She hands me a menu.
"Do I order here?"
"Yes, then we bring the food to your table"
So I order. I'm feeling not welcome, and end forgetting to say I want chicken on my salad.
"Do you have ginger beer?"
"No sodas." (No eye contact either -both staff I saw scowling.)
So-not gonna tip 20% here between crankiness and knowing I get my own silverware and napkins and have to order at counter. Doing the 'custom tip' as I also ring myself out. This takes longer, and is a tad confusing. Her nibs is drumming her nails on the counter.
Salad comes sans chicken. I realize it might have been my ordering error. I ask the server, who comes back out and slams down the salad, now with chicken, as she's turning on her heel to walk away again: " Did I pay you for the chicken?" ($4 extra) I'm trying to acknowledge my error.
"No, but we're not gonna worry about it." she says with what appears to be her first smile-but more like a smirk.
I look down- a pile of roughly hacked chicken breast was thrown helter skelter in a pile on the greens. It seemed less like a courtesy to not charge me than 'Can't wait to get rid if you' feeling. And I was happy to be done eating.
I understand busyness, and I'm not one for overweening customer service, but, man!! And the food was 'eh!' -too much lemon in the 'Thai' dressing.
I'm not a big, yelp complainer, but I'm tired of being treated like a second class citizen as an older singleton, and a female.
