"Chefs Jongwook Lee (ex-Cadet) and WonGoo Joun (formerly of Maison Boulud and Pastel) have joined forces to open this new Saint-Henri spot, which transports traditional Korean recipes into a modern bistro setting. The duo’s culinary experience is on full display, with an intricate menu poised to change seasonally and featuring weekly specials. Find oysters with citrusy gochujang and an “Asian mignonette,” lamb seasoned with gochugaru (Korean chili powder) paired with peach kimchi, and dumplings stuffed with porcini, parmesan, and chives." - Valerie Silva

"Chefs Jongwook Lee and WonGoo Joun’s Saint-Henri restaurant breaks away from the mold many of Montreal’s Korean restaurants fall into by combining Korean cuisine with techniques and inspirations from the chefs’ tenures at local restaurants. Find curated wine lists alongside dishes like a koji-marinated tonkatsu with lemon salt, gyeranjjim (Korean steamed eggs served with a nori-anchovy broth), and traditional salt-cured, charcoal-grilled sea bass." - Holly Tousignant, Eater Staff, JP Karwacki

Amazing food, casual and hip ambience! Literally everything that I tasted was so delicious!! If I have to choose only one dish, my number one pick is Yuringi(fried chicken with yummy sauce) Highly recommend this Korean bistro to everybody!

Great flavours! I didn’t get a picture of everything we ordered but here are a few. I loved the oysters, their mignonette was the best flavour combination I’ve ever had for oysters! I absolutely wanted to just eat that for the whole meal. We also go the beet and pumpkin dish. The fried pumpkin is spectacularly light and not at all oily in such a delicious sauce. I really wanted to ask for rice or bread to soak up all the sauce. The beet dish was also very tasty but the cheese/tofu was too salty and felt out of place. The crudo was very fresh and good. I was only slightly disappointed because it feels like the seasoning wasn’t done evenly.

Great service and first time experience. Price is quite expensive for tapas portion. Sun-dubu tasted too much soya, lamb was a bit on the bland side. Tartare tasted the best and they surprisingly gave us 4 bread because we were 4. The other food tasted special. It looks like the chef took time to design each dish to mark their own unique flavour.

Very unique and tasty dishes to share! Service was also impeccable- very attentive and efficient. Cocktails were also delicious! Nice atmosphere for couples, friends or even family. My favorite were the galbi (very tender, well seasoned) and the kalguksu (well balanced). Less favorite was the fried rice (jajang sauce was too overpowering). A bit on the pricier side but definitely a must try!

A relatively new Korean inspired restaurant in St. Henri district (just west of Atwater) so there is a lot of competition in the area...but this one is definitely worth the visit. The ambiance if fun, with bleached maple accents (adding a brightness) and many plants hanging from the ceiling (adding greenery)...so it is not what you expect when you hear "Korean restaurant". The menu is a decent size with a "one-of-everything" option...chicken, beef, veggie, seafood, etc... We had chicken katsu (excellent), sea bass (excellent), beef galbi (good), dumplings (yum), yuringi/chicken (good)...but our favorite was the corn bruschetta...never had anything like it and it was delicious so highly recommend it (the only down side is that it is a small app portion with three strips). Service was excellent...very attentive. A special call out to Ley who made our evening that much better than it already was. Definitely give this one a shot! NOTE: This is considered a "neighborhood friendly" restaurant so they dont take reservations. If only two people then you should be ok but more than that and you should come early.

They very kindly squeezed 3 of us in for an early dinner even though we did not have reservations. We were served by 3 different servers, each of whom was fantastic... Absolutely pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive to our service. The food was terrific and the kitchen staff was orchestrated and pleasurable to watch in the open kitchen. The fantastic staff also explained the Korean fable after which the restaurant was named. All in all fabulous... Definitely recommended!!

Yelp
Unpretentious, simple décor - if you get a seat at the kitchen bar, you can see how they prepare the food, which is fun. Very fresh, quality ingredients, prepared in interesting ways. You think you recognize it, but you don't. The octopus was really good. Would never have thought of pairing brussel sprouts with it, but it was fab. Tip: don't eat the shrimp toast right away as it needs to cool down a bit to fully appreciate the flavour combinations. Cocktails were good. Two people shared 5 dishes + dessert and I was quite full. Service was professional. Things seemed slickly run. Bill came to $84 with tax for my half, including two cocktails.

Yelp
Very cute resto with friendly service! There is a great patio for outdoor dining. This place serves Korean fusion dishes - with variations - so don't expect the usual cuisine! We had a number of dishes to share, and enjoyed the flavour profiles. My favorites were the corn, oysters, and kalguksu (forgot to take a pic of this one). Cute addition to the street!

Yelp
Saw some amazing reviews on 9 Tail Fox and am I glad I gave them a try during my visit in Montreal! They rotate the some of their dishes in the menu every now and then and I was happy I still got to try some of their popular staple dishes many raved about! The restaurant is a fusion restaurant with Asian inspired flavors from a citrus gochujang topped raw oyster, kimchi fried rice, shrimp toast with Mango puree and coconut milk. Every single dished has such a nice balance of flavour and I absolutely loved being able to pick out the Asian sauces and ingredients they used to create the dish.

Yelp
This recent addition to Notre Dame in St-Henri is definitely different from other Korean restaurants that I've been to! No bulgogi here! They offer delicious small plates, perfect for sharing , of traditional recipes made with a modern twist. We tried a few items on the menu but the three that really stood out for me were the corn, calamari salad, and fried mushroom. They have a great selection of wine and cocktails to choose from as well. There was no room for dessert but this restaurant is definitely worth the trip back. Great value as well, and friendly service ; great addition to this strip.

Yelp
Please please please I kindly request that you communicate the critical nature of allergies to your staff, as mishandling dietary requests can have severe consequences, even life-threatening. Unfortunately, despite my friend's explicit request for a nut-free dessert due to her allergies, she was served an item containing nuts. This led to her experiencing an anaphylactic shock and necessitated an emergency room visit, causing significant trauma. I urge you to emphasize the importance of strict adherence to allergy-related requests within your team to avoid such incidents in the future. Given the esteemed reputation of your restaurant, my expectations were higher....
