We had the worst experience here. I'm not sure where all the new reviews are coming from, but they do not ring true for us. I thought the older negative reviews wouldn't apply to us, but we were wrong.
The best part of this place was the ability to walk to downtown, NC State, and other amenities. So, the best part was everything outside the buildings.
We experienced fire alarms weekly when we first moved in, traumatizing us and our pets right off the bat. They still occur at least once a month. The units are starting to show their age and some of our walls are starting to bow in. There was no attempt to clean it before we moved in and I found nails everywhere. I fought mold in the bathroom, kitchen, and dishwasher the entire time we were there. It took maintenance over a month to address some of the issues we had when we first moved in, only for them to leave the issues worse than when we reported them. You can hear your upstairs neighbors bouncing around and the doors to the stairwells are very loud when they slam at all hours of the day and night. Don't expect lights to work in the trash room or parking lot. Definitely don't expect to be able to see where the lines are in the parking lots. I also hope the garage doors don't get stuck when you're parked in the garage either.
Even though it's a "pet friendly" apartment, your neighbors will not be friendly enough to clean up after their pets. Be careful of broken glass everywhere you go as well, don't want your pets to get cut as ours did.
Also don't expect staff to be in the office during working hours. You can expect them to try to charge you extra pet rent even though you signed a lease here explicitly because they said all pets were included under one rent.
If you're like me and think this won't be your experience, I hope you're right. The place was maybe trying to get better towards the end. They have started offering community events and supposedly they're under new management. For us it was too little, too late and we're so happy to be leaving. To all those after us, good luck.
