15 Upcoming Restaurants Across the North and South Carolina | Eater Carolinas

"Trey Owens, Ari Augenbaum, and Nar Hovnanian are bringing JewFro to downtown Raleigh at 927 W. Morgan Street, a concept that blends African and Jewish flavors—examples include a doro wat turkey sandwich on fresh‑baked challah and bagels with smoked salmon and harissa cream cheese—and aims to create conversation about cultural representations." - Erin Perkins

"A concept blending African and Jewish flavors that originated as a pop-up and will translate those cross-cultural ideas into sandwiches and breakfast items—examples include a doro wat turkey sandwich on fresh-baked challah and bagels topped with smoked salmon and a harissa cream cheese. The project aims to spark conversation about cultural representation through its playful, hybrid menu." - Erin Perkins

This apartment community is truly unbeatable when it comes to location. It’s perfect for walking, sightseeing, and enjoying everything the neighborhood has to offer. The maintenance team deserves special recognition, they are incredibly responsive, professional, and always on top of requests. Parking is plentiful, which is a huge plus, and the hallways are consistently clean and always smell fresh. The only drawback is transitioning from a newer luxury apartment to this older unit with dated interiors. That said, management is actively renovating the entire complex, which has been a big reason I’ve chosen to stay. The new finishes are modern and well done, and the upgraded windows are an absolute necessity for East Coast winters and they’ve made a noticeable difference. The neighbors are generally very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, I’ve occasionally witnessed a few individuals being disrespectful toward staff regarding the construction, which is disappointing, especially considering the improvements being made for residents. Overall, I’m excited to continue living here and to watch the community evolve. It’s a beautiful neighborhood, and the ongoing renovations make the future here very promising.

This is the first time in years I’ve taken time out of my day to write a negative review but the experience I’ve had with this establishment is terrible. When I first arrived at my apartment my bathroom door was broken and couldn’t close. I’ve also had issues with the air conditioning and dryer. I’ve lost multiple packages due to a poor or lack of system to receive them. I would have to search through a 100 boxes all thrown on the floor and I’ve gotten to the point where I just would ship them to work. Today I went out to my car and it was getting towed. When I spoke with the manager my parking permit that says literally “PARKING PERMIT ” and literally no mention of limitations or visitor pass. Turns out to only be only a visitors pass with limitations which means I can’t park my car in the garage only on the parking deck. So I had to pay $150 towing fee. This situation could have easily been avoided and should have been. Simply proper labeling or easy to read signs would have prevented this rather than just poor communication. I highly encourage exploring other establishments instead of this one.

Great location, close to downtown. Good amenities including pool, grills and fitness centers but occasional frustration when they've needed to close. With 2 sets of these amenities it is usually not a huge issue but has occasionally been frustrating. Great staff and quick and responsive maintenance. Minor frustrations over the year but overall good complex.

We had the worst experience here. I'm not sure where all the new reviews are coming from, but they do not ring true for us. I thought the older negative reviews wouldn't apply to us, but we were wrong. The best part of this place was the ability to walk to downtown, NC State, and other amenities. So, the best part was everything outside the buildings. We experienced fire alarms weekly when we first moved in, traumatizing us and our pets right off the bat. They still occur at least once a month. The units are starting to show their age and some of our walls are starting to bow in. There was no attempt to clean it before we moved in and I found nails everywhere. I fought mold in the bathroom, kitchen, and dishwasher the entire time we were there. It took maintenance over a month to address some of the issues we had when we first moved in, only for them to leave the issues worse than when we reported them. You can hear your upstairs neighbors bouncing around and the doors to the stairwells are very loud when they slam at all hours of the day and night. Don't expect lights to work in the trash room or parking lot. Definitely don't expect to be able to see where the lines are in the parking lots. I also hope the garage doors don't get stuck when you're parked in the garage either. Even though it's a "pet friendly" apartment, your neighbors will not be friendly enough to clean up after their pets. Be careful of broken glass everywhere you go as well, don't want your pets to get cut as ours did. Also don't expect staff to be in the office during working hours. You can expect them to try to charge you extra pet rent even though you signed a lease here explicitly because they said all pets were included under one rent. If you're like me and think this won't be your experience, I hope you're right. The place was maybe trying to get better towards the end. They have started offering community events and supposedly they're under new management. For us it was too little, too late and we're so happy to be leaving. To all those after us, good luck.

I have lived here for more than 2 years and have only grown fonder. The location keeps getting great business close by. You have gussies right next door which has fantastic food and drink. The management team is professional and fair. They are willing to help in any way they can. The community is also always doing something - these events are always very fun. The buildings are kept clean and the community is nice. I would recommend anyone that is looking to check these apartments out.

I’ve lived at 927 West Morgan for 2 years and I love the apartment and all the staff. The building is in the best location, I was a student at NCSU and have loved being able to walk to campus and to downtown Raleigh in less than 30 minutes. The rooms are great and spacious, they aren’t brand new but aren’t old. They are clean and well taken care of. I live in a 2BR and I really don’t need any more space. The maintenance team has also always been helpful for some odd requests. They are fast to help and always kind and respectful. I will live here longer unless I move cities. I would recommend 927 to anyone.

Even though we haven’t moved in yet, 927 West Morgan has already made a fantastic impression. From the first tour to lease signing, the staff has been incredibly helpful, responsive, and genuinely welcoming to our whole family throughout the process. The building is modern, clean, and packed with great amenities. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of downtown Raleigh and within walking distance to some of the city’s best restaurants, shops, bars, museums, and parks. There's truly something for everyone just steps away. With everything that’s included, the value is outstanding. The family and I can't wait to call this place home. If first impressions count (and they do), 927 West Morgan is already a winner.
