I love Mian! They have the best dumplings. My favorite are the chili oil dumplings, and the pork dumplings. The pork dumplings sauce has kind of an almost sweet spiciness to it. I also feel like there's maybe cinnamon or different kinds of spices that they put in with the dumpling sauce. It's so delicious!

Was craving some noodle soup and this place doesn't disappoint! Very clean establishment. You order with a QR code from your table. They instantly bring some tea and pickled cabbage. We ordered the Beef House Noodles with extra beef. Also ordered steamed bok choy and black fungus. Noodles were bouncy and chewy. Broth was rich and flavorful, beef was so tender. Definitely recommend this place for a good meal!

This review is long time coming!! The first time I had Mian noodles was "post" pandemic when take-outs were still prevalent. I've been a happy customer since 2021 & make sure to get their food any time I'm in Houston. Though I never had the pleasure of dining-in at their restaurant until very recently! I already knew their food is top notch, and I'm happy to report their service is exceptional as well. Unfortunately, I didn't get the server's name but she was so sweet, attentive, and went above & beyond. My friend loved their serving bowls and wanted to know more about it, and she did her best to get the information for him. They're located in Chinatown in a strip with other restaurants & stores, so there's plenty of parking nearby. Inside is very tidy & cozy. We came for an early lunch & it wasn't too packed so we were seated quickly. There were other groups also enjoying their share of noodles soups and appetizers. They offer different spice levels to cater to everyone's taste preferences which is always a plus. You place the order on your smartphone by scanning the QR code on your table. That takes you to an online menu where each person from the table can add their item to the cart, which is then added to one collective order/bill. As for food, I absolutely love the complimentary spicy cabbage. I hope they never take it away!!! I remember them having lotus roots in the past which they no longer do or I must've missed it. We always get the spicy black fungus as well. You cannot go wrong with the spicy beef noodle soups!!! The beef tender, the noodles chewy, & both cooked to perfection. The broth is so flavorful & divine. This dish is perfect for any weather but especially on cold days. The portions are large & can easily be shared between two people, especially if you're ordering other items. The popcorn chicken was crunchy on the outside & tender on the inside with an addicting flavor. I kept going back for more. I also tried the spicy & sour wontons for the first time, & it blew my mind. Soooo good!!! For dessert, we always try to get the sweet iced jelly. I say "try" because they make a limited amount each day and there were times when they had run out. You mix the jelly with all the toppings it comes with for the perfect bite. Overall, I cannot recommend them enough & I look forward to my next visit!!!

Mian is a more modern restaurant in chinatown that highlights szechuan noodles. Each bowl is delicately crafted and has remained consistent for each of my visits throughout the years. With each visit, they also offer mungbean tea that pairs well with the spice of their dishes. The spicy pork rib is definitively my favorite noodle bowl here. It features a rich broth with chewy noodles. The noodles take the broth really well with each bite. The pork ribs are tender and juicy. Some of my other outstanding favorites off the menu include the zajiang noodles with peas and the red oil wontons. The ordering is through the website app so it is a very seamless process. The establishment is also kept up with and very clean. I have always left Mian very satisfied with my meal. Definitely give this place a try if you are in the area.

YUM! the house beef noodle soup was SO yummy. i loved the portioning of all the noodles, veggies, and beef. the staff was super friendly and made a great effort to even chat with me about where i got my purse (LOL) -- service was quick and efficient. very well done the restaurant inside was quiet, pleasantly lit, and cozy. everything flowed really nicely, and the decor is really put together.

1. Service - Management needs to be on top of the service team. The whole time we were there, the 2 cashiers/waiters in the front were on their phones. They didn't bother looking up or check on the tables. Not a care in the world. 2. Price - inexpensive. 3. Ambiance - the place is modern and hip with Chinese decor. Dress code here is casual. 4. Food - I have ordered their dumplings and it was not bad. 5. Cleanliness - when we ate here on a Friday night, it was a pretty packed house. But I've noticed that as people were leaving, the tables weren't being cleaned. In fact there were more than 5-6 tables left like this while we were still there. There was a cart full of dirty dishes in the hallway near the restroom. I couldn't enjoy my meal because I could smell the dirty plates. The restrooms were pretty nasty as well. SUMMARY - Everything goes hand in hand. You can't have just good food and lack cleanliness or service. Without one or the other, it will be difficult to be a successful business.

Amazingly generous portions and fantastic food! I wasn't expecting 2 whole beef ribs in my soup but was pleasantly surprised and soo satisfied after my meal here. This is the best spot in Houston if you want to get noodle soups, spicy wontons, and delicious appetizers.

We enjoyed date night at Mian! The food was definitely the biggest hit of the night. We opted for the Zajiang noodles with extra beef and pork to share, as well as the chili oil dumplings. You order on your phone and the servers bring the food directly out to you. The dumplings came out hot and fresh and were so tasty! We dug in to the noodles next which went wonderfully with the pork and egg. We mixed the beef in - it was protein-friendly and a good amount of food for us to share. We chose the less oil option and are very glad we did as the noodles were already on the oily side. The medium spicy level was also a bit spicier than we expected - it was very delicious but be careful if you have a lower spice tolerance! The only thing I found strange was that when we asked for a paper menu, we were told they didn't have one, though we later saw another family given a paper menu. Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would love to come back!

This is probably the best handmade noodle shop I have ever been to! The prices are very affordable and the portions are generous. Each dish is very customizable to your personal taste. Scan the QR code at your table, pick your noodle dish, pick spicy level, and add or detract veggies/meat. Servers will bring your order to the table along with water, any drinks you order, and complimentary mung bean "tea". It is extremely subtle tasting and a tiny bit sweet. A perfect accompaniment to the spicy, savory noodles! My party ordered Spicy Sechuan Cold Noodles, Black Fungus Salad, and a couple variations of the Spicy Beef Noodle Soups. YUM! The restaurant itself has a minimalistic and modern vibe. It feels very clean and fresh! This plaza gets super busy and parking becomes hard to find so come before the rush. Mian is a must visit if you are in Houston!!

We started off with the spicy black fungus and popcorn chicken. The mushrooms had a really nice spicy garlic flavor that complimented them well. The dumplings and beef noodle soup really hit the spot. I'd guess the noodles are made in house, and they were perfectly cooked. Food was amazing! Can't wait to go back and try some of their other dishes.

Loved everything about this place. In Bellaire but in quieter, older shopping center so you're not dealing with the crazy parking and chaos of most Bellaire eateries. Cute little spot, 2 staff members, simple but appealing deco. Everything we ordered was delicious, the food is 4 star but what got the extra star, in total 5 stars was for the ease of ordering and customization of the meals. You sit and scan and as you order they bring items out, you don't need to keep calling waiters over. You can customize the entrees to your perfect liking. I will definitely be back many times and recommend!

The first time I came here was for dinner around 5:30ish on a weekday and it was empty. I was excited to try it after they opened. The decor is minimalistic and modern which I liked and each table is preset and offers a cute placemat describing the restaurant (not the tacky zodiac ones you find at Americanized or "super Chinese" spots). You can complimentary pickled cabbage (hint of spice) and a cold refreshing mung bean drink (water is also available). I got a bowl of the cold Sichuan noodles for $9ish with pork. It was not overly spicy and peanutty. Large hearty portion for less than $10 is a great deal, especially for a fancier (aka not a hole in the wall) place! Menu was very descriptive and included pics which I liked too. Since my first visit I've brought many people here and have tried their chili oil wontons, dumplings, and beef noodle soup (all tasty).

The food is really good and has a lot of flavor but is pretty spicy. The service is extremely quick and once you order your food will come out within five minutes. As soon as we sat down, we were served very refreshing fruit tea of some sort that was also pretty good. The place is kept clean and bathrooms are relatively clean as well.

Perfect place to satisfy a Chinese style soup noodle craving! They serve complimentary mung bean broth and chili pickled cabbage. We always end up ordering another side of pickled cabbage. We've had most things on the menu, and the flavor is pretty on-point and consistent. If it's your first time, I would order the wontons and house beef noodles or fried egg noodles. You just can't go wrong with those staples. My go-to is the Beef Pickled Noodles. I usually add a Bawan Bean as additional topping to give it a little more texture. I always choose high spicy and always tear up with how spicy it is, but would still order the same level next time, because it works really well with the overall flavors. Sometimes the numbing flavor is too strong, but you can ask to have the numbing oil on the side instead of added in directly. Personally think the decor fits the theme very well, and staff is good but nothing stands out in particular.

When you get seated, they greet you with some tea. All throughout dinner they serve you with cold tea. They leave a small dish of spicy cabbage to coo you off from the soup You order your food by scanning a QR code and ordering for your table, they bring it to you so quick! They have options to choose how much spice and oil levels you want. I got a medium spice level, and it was still quite spicy for me. The medium spice is no joke, be careful.

Nice and friendly service. They serve a free side dish of spicy cabbage and free sweetened tea. Sichuan food is not my personal preference as it's too numbing and spicy for me. I do appreciate that you can adjust almost everything on your order including having it less oily, less spicy, and remove certain toppings. 1. Clear broth beef noodle with mild spice and no numb. It was probably the least spicy out of the 3 dishes. The beef was sliced super thinly and felt almost like deli meat. 2. Mild house beef noodle with mild spice and no numb. It was still to spicy for me and I didn't love the flavor of the soup. The meat was actual chunks of beef though. 3. Zajiang noodles - liked the peanut taste but nothing special. You scan a QR code at your table and order online and then you pay at the front after you are done eating. The waiter will serve you your drink and utensil. Overall not bad, but not my preference on flavor and spice.

I ordered the beef noodle soup to go which was pretty seamless. There was a QR code for takeout orders on the table at the front. I got my food within maybe 10 minutes. I assembled everything once I got to my destination, not really knowing what was in each container. I ran out of room and didn't add much of the broth. It wasn't the best beef noodle Ive ever had but I'd order it again. I ordered it with mild spice level and to my surprise it actually made my nose run a tad. I'll say the pickled cabbage (I think that's what it was) was the star of the show! So much flavor and a great addition to each bite.

Good traditional yet modren chinese place! Tasty and unique, not chinese American food persay. Waited a bit to get service while ambiance was pretty hectic but still pretty cool.

Great food for good prices and portions! What more can I say. The inside is fairly modern and service was quick and kind. The food is the star, haven't had a better beef noodle soup in awhile. The spicy wonton was a bit different from what I'm used to, but had a greater depth of flavor, too. Popcorn chicken and fried potatoes... well you can never go wrong with that, and they were good and not oily. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a clean, modern, and tasty place for a noodle soup!

I tried the pork intestine noodles and chili oil dumplings (more like wontons) as well as the complimentary cabbage cold dish they provided and all of it was good. They also have a tea that was very refreshing and had just the smallest hint of sweetness. The servers were nice and quick to fulfill requests even though it looked like there were only two servers handling a pretty much full restaurant.

We loved this place. My sister and I have been waiting to come here for quite sometime and I am glad we did. We came before the lunch rush and found a great spot. There are many tables, so seating should not be a problem. The ordering process is contactless. You order your food through their app and the server will bring out the food. They have many beautiful items to offer. The food came out so fast. We ordered two beef noodles and a side of the braised intestines. Everything was cooked to perfection. Despite the noodles looking oily, they do not taste it. The meats and intestines were braised well and were tender. The intestines also did not smell of organ. Their pickled cabbage was sensational. I would buy it by the jar. Lastly, the pricing is so fair considering the amount of food you get.

This restaurant is a favorite of mine in LA. Happy to see that the Houston location is just as good! My go to order is the spicy beef noodle soup. Plenty of favor and spice! You can tone it down if you want too. Service was pretty good as well. We were sat and served our food quickly with no issues. Will definitely be coming back again!

Sichuan Cold Noodle: This is my go-to dish every time because I'm a huge fan of Sichuan cold noodles. I must say, this is the best one I've had in Houston. The flavor is absolutely fantastic, with just the right amount of spice to give it a kick. I would rate it a solid 10 out of 10. Service: Unfortunately, when I visited, the restaurant was quite crowded. Our server didn't come to our table, so we had to call them over to take our drink orders. Even then, they forgot to bring us our drinks. I plan on revisiting on a less crowded day to get a better sense of their service. For now, I would give it a 6 out of 10.

Very simple concept and menu, scan QR code with your phone and all menu options are presented on their site with pictures and description. (Love a place that knows what they are serving and keeping things straight forward) I got the original spicy beef noodle soup (It's got a good kick for normal, glad I didn't go for the extra spicy). The broth was very flavorful, perhaps a bit much on the chili oil, good Sichuan spice and I love the texture of the noodles especially, very chewy. I'm a fan of veggies so added some tomatoes and it went well with the bok choy and beef (I personally like the thinly sliced instead of the larger beef shank and would probably try that next time). I love the fact you can customize other toppings like adding an egg/noodles/mushrooms.. etc Clean aesthetic interior, fast service, complementary mung bean tea and spicy cabbage - not a fan, but it's free so no complaints here. Overall, it's a great place if you're in the mood for noods (noodles) and I'd imagine it'll be very popular on a colder day. Would definitely come back!

Visited on a quiet Sunday night. Upon seating, they provide you with a room temperature cup of slightly sweetened tea and a side dish of cabbage marinated chili oil. Both were very nice and offered a glimpse of the food to come. We ordered the beef noodle soup and the pork dumplings. Pork dumplings were slightly sweet with a bit of numbness/bitterness from the Sichuan peppercorns. Ratio of filling to wrapper was just about right, and the flavors of everything complimented each other. The beef noodle soup was well seasoned and the beef shanked was tender. It reminded me of many excellent bowls of beef noodle soup I've had in Taiwan. Restaurant was very clean with a relaxed atmosphere. Service was prompt and attentive. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Houston.

I'm very conflicted writing this review because I have been to other Mian locations during my travels and they have been great. However the noodles I ordered here did not have any chew whatsoever and honestly did not taste hand pulled even though they're supposed to be. What happened?

Cute little place that I finally got to try after confusing with the other Mein restaurant. Be forewarned, everything is pretty spicy but a good spicy even for a wimp like me. We ordered a few appetizers - peanuts, pig ears and fried lotus root. I enjoyed all of them, but probably wouldn't do the pig ears again since they had a chili flake on them that made it super spicy. My husband got the beef noodle soup which has a lot of meat. Flavor was ok. I loved my golden curry dumplings soup. It was sooooo flavorful and the dumplings had a lot of meat. Service was also great too with lots of water refills and non intrusive checking on us. The prices were so reasonable too given the quality of food. I plan to come back another time tro try more dishes.

My friends and I came to Mian for lunch, and we got seated quickly. The whole table orders food through a QR code, and it ends up going onto one tab. So keep in mind, if you're going in a large group, that when you pay at the front, you can only split the bill in half because they accept 2 credit card payments max. We just venmoed our friends our share. I ordered the house beef noodle soup, and the broth was so flavorful, and the noodles were just the right texture. I also got to try some of my friend's pork dumplings, and those were great too! The food came out really fast as well which is always a plus, since we were all so hungry at that point haha.

This place was interesting in the sense that they serve a Mung bean drink with your meal instead of water. I never asked for water so I don't know if they would serve it upon request, but I assume they would. I think this place has the best Spicy Beef Noodle Soup that I've tasted in Houston so far. The beef just falls apart and the flavor of the soup has depth to it. You can really tell they put some work into this dish, instead of making a 10 min broth and throw ingredients together. I can't wait to take other people here to see what they think about the beef.

One of the few remaining authentic Chinese noodle restaurants in Chinatown. They will given you green beans soup as beverage and you have to use the QR code to see the menu, but you if really prefer physical menu they do have an old copy of it. The service is not too bad, you still can order with the server instead of online. The noodles and the soup are delicious, it will being a little spicy.

This Sichuan restaurant has the best intestine noodles I've ever had! The portion was incredibly generous, and I got to take some home to finish as another meal. To complement the noodles, they offer a side dish of cabbage, and it was also very good. Service and atmosphere were great. A must-visit for Sichuan cuisine enthusiasts!

I had been dying to try chili oil noodles after watching a tiktok with them so I got to Yelping and found this place. The concept here is a little different. You scan the menu with your phone and then order your food straight from your phone and they bring it out to you. I ordered the Sichuan cold noodles extra spicy and added a fried egg. It was everything I had hoped and dreamed of. I also ordered the chili oil dumplings which do come out scalding hot so be warned, but they were worth the third degree burns I received when taking a bite. Prices were great and the food came out relatively fast. This is place will definitely be added to my list of favorites.

Got the chili oil wonton which had great spicy flavor. You can adjust numbness as you desire. They offer complimentary spicy cabbage which was also delicious. Portion sizes are generous and they have vegetarian mapo tofu noodles which were delicious as well. The classic spicy beef noodle soup was amazing with tender meat chunks. Popcorn chicken had slightly thicker batter but great juiciness and flavor. Would definitely be back again and service was fast.

I'm one of those people that typically know I'm going somewhere in advance and I scope out the menu and reviews beforehand. My dining companion and I came here after we worked up an appetite at the boba spot a few doors down. The inside is very nice and has a very modern look. We seated ourselves because no one really acknowledged us upon entering. We sat for awhile before we were approached by the staff who came bearing some mung bean water. They never did ask if we wanted anything else to drink and asked what we wanted to order. No hello or any pleasantries were exchanged, they just wanted an order. The QR code sent us to a menu that was not very descriptive at all. We asked questions but did not get back much help. Some people may have got up and left with the service we got, but in my head, I was thinking this was going to be one hell of a bowl of noodles! I saw Spicy Beef Noodle Soup and knew that was what I needed. I'm all about spicy noods cause regular noods just doesn't cut it for me. I told them to go up on the spice level as well. The food came out pretty quick and the fragrant aromas got me excited. The bowls are huge and you definitely get a nice portion here. I took one sip of the rich broth and instantly knew I was in for a great meal. First off, this bowl was packed with tender pieces of beef. I could not have cooked it better myself. The noodles were also cooked to perfection. It had just the right bite to it, not too mushy and not too hard. There was also cilantro and bok choy in it. Everything all worked together in perfect harmony. I wasn't even that hungry, but I tore that bowl up and was completely satisfied. Now if this place put some effort into customer service, they would have definitely got 5 stars. If I can't have it all, atleast give me good food. They did that. With cold weather approaching, I will be back sooner rather than later!

I enjoy coming to eat at MIAN. It's a comfy little spot and there's a variety of noodle dishes that I like to try. You can order by QR code by bringing up the menu. I recommend the beef noodles! I've been coming here for years and I plan to keep doing so.

Delicious noodles!! Loved the vibe of this restaurant and the staff were so sweet and friendly! Was looking forward to trying this place because it was highly recommended. Worth the hype. Tried the Mapo Tofu Noodles. The tofu was soft and the sauce was spicy and numbing, just the perfect bite. The noodles were soft and chewy. No complaints. Would come back but I do wish they had more vegetarian options.

I've had my eye on this place for a while, and finally got a chance to check it out. I went during the week, right before the lunch rush about 11:45am. You walk in, and seat yourself, if there's a wait, you'd write your name on the waiting list. They bring out some red bean water, at first it's an acquired taste, but you'll realize it balances out the spice very well. The menu is a QR code and you order your items from your phone, then they bring it to you once ready. The inside itself is clean and modern, with some nice wall paintings. We tried the house beef noodle soup, medium spicy as well as the pork dumplings. The soup was tasty in my opinion, and beef was very tender. They give you a lot of food, so if you're not super hungry, one bowl could feed 2. Broth was flavorful and medium spicy was tolerable, probably could have gotten it a bit spicer. The pork dumplings were good as well, and the portion size is also quite large for 2 people. Overall, I'd recommend trying it out if it's been on your to-go list, but keep in mind it starts to get pretty busy as the day goes on.

Swung by for lunch/dinner. Located in a Chinatown plaza that I regarded as semi depleted, this was a pleasant surprise. It's a clean, small shop, kind of like a ramen shop in Japan. Ordering is done via phone app and the service here is pretty minimal/ nonexistent. You order the food, get the food, eat it, and pay pretty much. For fast food, the noodles are pretty solid. Sauce is a very Sichuan style. Dishes are $10-$14 per bowl depending on what you get. It's very home cooked when you taste it and it's a solid meal with no frills. I wouldn't drive 25 min to get a bowl of noodles but it is a solid choice if you are in the area.

Found this place solely through Yelp! They have the waitlist feature but it was not needed, even on a Saturday night. They are apparently well known for their noods so I was excited to try. They brought us some complimentary mung bean tea and pickled vegetables. Wasn't a big fan of the tea but the pickled veggies were a nice snack. My friend and I shared the House Beef Noodles and Mapo Tofu noodles. The beef noodles were delicious! The noodles have a nice texture and bite and the broth was full of flavor. Has a good amount of meat but wish it was more tender. The spice level is just right. I did not like the Mapo tofu as much. It was so spicy to the point where flavor was lost. Interested in trying their Zajiang noodles next time!

Not to be confused with Mein close by. This place is in the old Seafood 88 mall (Miss that place). Plenty of parking. You order on your phone like a lot or the Chinatown restaurants are doing these days. Chengdu Zhajiang mian was tasty but so darn expensive. With tax and standard 15% tip it's $15. For a bowl of noodles. What's this world coming to. Recommended tip on their receipts is correctly based off of amount before tax which I appreciate. Complimentary meng bean drink and pickles cabbabge before the meal was ok. Nothing special but nice freebie.

I loooove Mian! When I want Ramen I come here...it's the best. The spice level you can request mild, medium, or spicy. I was adventurous and ordered medium and was sniffling the whole time, but it tastes so good you don't want to stop eating it. The broth is perfection, and you can add your choices of toppings & proteins. Mian is the best and, you just sit and order from the table. Highly recommend for Ramen lovers.

Many options for noodles if you are a noodle monster like us. The dumplings are yummy as well. But if you don't like spicy, this place may have limited options for you. Their foods are overall more spicy and heavy flavored. Love the red bean water tho!!
