"Like many things in Hong Kong — the skyline, the food, the cultural influences — the hotels are a bit of a hodgepodge, running the gamut from colonial-era grand dames to postmodern design statements. It can be a bit dizzying, which is why a stylish contemporary hotel like 99 Bonham — full of character without caricature — holds such appeal." - Tablet Hotels

had a wonderful stay at 99 Bonham in Central Hong Kong. The rooms are spacious, stylish, and very comfortable, a rare find in the city. What really made my stay special, though, was the staff. Ivan, the hotel manager, and Steven were both incredibly nice and helpful throughout my visit. From the warm welcome to the attentive support with small details, they made me feel genuinely cared for. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a great stay in a good location with top-notch service.

Located near Sheung Wan MTR but we had to climb a flight of stairs from Shueng Wan MTR to the street levels. Service staff could speak english well and check-in was easy. Breakfast was located 5 mins walking distance but it was great! Chose this location as it was very close to the ferry terminal towards Macau. Room was good size and there is water dispenser for instant hot water.

The stay was nice. Staff are really helpful. Experience was good :) Although the mattress was a bit used, that caused me back pain:( In general, thank you for the service.

Yelp
This hotel had a great deal on Agoda, so I booked it for my mom and I to stay during our last visit in Hong Kong. Take exit A2 at Sheung Wan MTR, go towards the 7-Eleven, and you'll be headed in the right direction of the hotel. It's a very short walk from the station. The lobby and check-in desk really isn't much, but once you get to the room you'll be pleasantly surprised! We stayed in room 20C and loved the small kitchenette and spacious dining area. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had L'Occitane toiletries. The TV had a lot of English channels to choose from, and the in-room wifi worked perfectly. The mini bar was all free! In terms of rooms, I found this hotel better than nearby Ovolo Noho, which I've also stayed at. This is a great choice if you're looking for a comfy boutique hotel in Hong Kong island. Hope you can find a great deal!

Yelp
This is a great no-frills hotel for a luxurious (yet budget-friendly) trip to Hong Kong. My husband and I somewhat blew our bank account on swanky resorts for the first 2 weeks of our honeymoon in Bali and Thailand. So, we wanted a nice but affordable spot to finish out our trip in Hong Kong before heading back to the U.S. We opted for one of the upper suites with a skyline view, and let me tell you- the view was epic! The room was also quite spacious in comparison to most of the shoebox rooms you will find in HK. They use Malin+Goetz and Loccitane for toiletries, which is great because I'm a sucker for luxury grooming products. They also have a nice gym and a free refreshment nook next to it that is open 24/7 (with water/Coke/Diet Coke/granola bars). A small restaurant is attached on the main level of the hotel, although room service is not offered. The front desk desk was very helpful with our bags and made us feel welcome during our stay. Additionally, they were able to arrange a 3:30am taxi service back to the airport for our departure. This isn't the type of hotel with a gigantic lobby and lots of hustle and bustle going on, as it's somewhat tucked away and used to be a private residence tower. However, it is a high quality place to stay if you are looking for a 4 star hotel in HK that is in walking distance to many of the trendiest neighborhoods. The hotel chain that runs 99 Bonham also has many other highly respected hotels in HK. We were very satisfied with our stay!

Yelp
I've always prefered hotels to apartments when traveling because I hate to make beds, prepare breakfast and clean up when I'm on holidays. But when we were picking our accommodation in HK I had to compromise and "accept" to stay in serviced apartments. We knew accommodation in HK was higher than in other places in Asia and expected high prices but still, we were a bit surprised of how high they were (4/5 star hotels in central areas), so we had to set a budget and also decide which area we wanted to stay at. Finding a 4-star or up hotel for under 160 euros/night in a central area that we actually liked wasn't easy but we picked this one in Sheung Wan area and its lively atmosphere and I'm glad we did. Bonham 99 are serviced apartments a solution that seems pretty common in HK and it actually was like staying in a hotel: daily housekeeping (except for one day that was a national holiday), a reception, towels, etc. We were impressed by the quality of everything in the rooms, from the Frette bed linen, the kitchen, design lamps and even the audio/video systems. The hotel is located in Bonham Strand, a busy street in Sheung Wan, surrounded by small shops selling ginseng, mushrooms and many other weird things, there are a couple of stores like 7 eleven open 24 hours where one can buy stuff for breakfast, drinks, etc. It is a 36-floor modern building and there are 3 apartments in each floor, all apartments facing the city, not the harbor, but the views are nice if you like looking at buildings (close your curtains because probably there's people who enjoy looking inside the buildings as well). All apartments are equipped with a kitchen, tea/coffee maker, toaster, some closet space, comfortable seating area, etc. The nice staff down at the reception also told us that we were free to bring food and drinks to the rooftop where there are chairs and tables - still, no views of the harbor, only the city. Also, the MTR station was really close to the hotel so we went around pretty easily, even the Ferry Station for Macau is 3 blocks away. In all, it was a great choice and a good experience with serviced apartments so I definitely recommend it.

Yelp
Awesome gem of a place in Sheung Wan. It feels more like a serviced apartment than a hotel, and looks like it too. It's super quiet since there are only two rooms per floor. I rarely see other guests except in the lobby. Their design is very dark and minimalistic, which I love. In my premier suite there is a huge window, nespresso machine and free snacks. The room size is also really good especially for Hong Kong standard! The location is amazing. Just 8 mins walk to central, 3 mins to sheung wan mtr, a stone throw away from gough street and tai ping shan street. Don't forget to check out the rooftop too! Highly recommended!
