The Best Korean Restaurants in Santa Clara | Eater SF

"The South Bay has no shortage of Korean fried chicken chains, like the ubiquitous (and sure, quite excellent) Bonchon shops, but 99 Chicken has been providing a solid local alternative for well over a decade, since, well, before very many non-Koreans even knew about the other KFC. The chicken is twice-fried and often sauce-slathered and bracingly spicy, and dine-in customers can help themselves to as much rice and pickled daikon cubes as they like. Fair warning: Leave the weak of appetite at home, as there’s a five-piece-per-person minimum to sit down and eat at the restaurant." - Luke Tsai

We dinned in and ordered the combination. It comes with 10 large pieces of chicken. I ate 4 pieces and was full. When you dine in, they will give you a plate for salad and rice when they serve your chicken. The salad bar has radish, spring mix, coleslaw, cabbage, jalapeño, and salad dressing. Water is self serve. Flavor wise, it was all pretty standard. The fried chicken (2.5/5) was crispy but doesn’t have that usually airy crunchy texture I get from the fried starches when I eat Korean fried chicken. The meat was a bit bland to me, I felt like it could have been seasoned more. The honey chicken (2.5/5) is just the fried chicken with honey over it. The spicy chicken was more of a sweet and spicy sauce (2.5/3). The sauce chicken (1.5/5) was a bit sweet and tasted a bit like reduced ketchup.

Google
I opted for the sampler flavors. Korean sauce, plain, honey and last soy. And I also searched for a to go faster in out stop. A combo of legs and wings. I found it good quality chicken, but I will try other flavors for a better test. Price was a bit steep, but what isn’t. 10 piece and came up $31. As always post wherever your palate takes you.

99 chicken is located on the koreatown street of El Camino. Parking might be difficult in front of the store but if you go further in theres a lot more parking. They are known for their sitdown chicken as you get unlimited rice and side dishes. (However only take what u can get cuz u can’t take it to go) Chicken itself was pretty good, the honey garlic chicken was nice and had a good aroma to it. I wouldn’t recommend #3 their sauce chicken as it just tasted like ketchup and bbq sauce. Overall a nice sit-down eatery and one order can feed two ppl.

Google
One of the best korean fried chicken I can find. The salad dressing is special and delicious.

Google
The Asian guy (maybe he’s Korean) who cooks, he’s very rude!!! One of the salads (the leaves) were empty already, and when I asked to refill the salad, he got into an attitude and argument with me. I do not recommend this place since it got taken over by new owners. However, I liked the original owners. Also, they take out all the sauces that were on the tables, and they charge extra for the sauces now. Also, they charged 30cents for each box, no matter if it’s a small box. I do not recommend this place.

Google
First timers here! My husband and I ordered the 10 piece honey chicken and 10 piece soy garlic chicken. I thought these were going to be little chicken drums and wings, but no, they were huge and made fresh to order! We definitely left full. If you dine-in you also get access to a little salad bar and rice. We came in around 5:30pm on a Saturday and it was quickly full in the next 15-30 minutes. Can’t wait to come back!

Google
Turned away by the server because my group (total of 5) only wanted to get an order of wings and dumplings and we were told it wasn't enough and we had to order a minimum of 5 wings each person. We were told that due to rush hour it was not possible to accommodate us. Rush hour where? The restaurant was nearly empty with many seats available and we weren't going to stay long, only 30 mins since we had a reservation at 6pm elsewhere. Totally would not recommend this place at all. Terrible service and terrible decor! By having this business model of ordering 5 wings per person, they will loose many customers. 0 stars

Google
First timer 3.5* - Don't know why I was thinking they served the regular-sized chicken wings but these are actually very big as they should be for $28 for 10. To be honest, there were 2 smaller sized wings though but the drumsticks were big. Ordered half & half soy garlic and honey garlic and they pretty much tasted the same-a bit sweet but could've saved a bit more soy sauce. They were straight from the fryer piping hot. You do get access to a free AYCE salad/condiments bar with seasoned daikon, broccoli, spring salad, shredded cabbage and steamed white rice which helped offset all the fried chicken. 1 unisex restroom in the back and about a dozen tables inside. Service was friendly. You also get plastic gloves at your table and a metal waste container.

Yelp
I finally tried 99 Chicken and fried chicken is one of my guilty pleasures. This Korean fried chicken had a nice light batter and wasn't oily at all. We got the sauces on the side. The honey was thick and sweet which I liked, but my friends liked the spicy sauce more. There was a bunch of rules about the salad bar that I didn't pay attention to and I must have not broken any rules since nobody yelled at me! I will definitely comeback here to feed my fried chicken craving.

Yelp
Sadly the ambiance feels like a shell of what it was. A while ago they made the change from their regular plates to paper plates. The most recent change is that rice is no longer included when dining in. It is $3 per bowl instead of self serve. It would be easier to stomach if each plate came with a bowl of rice as the goal of the change seems to be portion control. The paper plates are given when the chicken comes out, so you weren't able to get our veggies before then. Today the batter seemed a bit thinner than their usual crunchy batter but I'm not sure if that's a change or just something with today's batch. I enjoy the flavors (Soy Garlic and Spicy) at 99 chicken but I'd be lying if I said it's as good as it was a few years ago. It's definitely changing and reminded us that times have been tough on restaurants.

Yelp
I have been going to this place for many years, but since ownership has changed, the place has been more money driven than the authentic mom & pop shop it used to be known for. The chicken has been more dry than usual, and the salad bar is very restricted. The owners will call you out for eating too much salad from their "self serve" salad bar. Now they require each person EVEN BABIES/small children to buy 5 pieces of chicken. This is so unreasonable. Rice is no longer free, and the ambiance of the shop itself is no longer as welcoming as it used to be. The chicken is still good but the down graded experience has affected my taste buds for this place.

Yelp
This place has been on my radar for a while. I wish I enjoyed it more. The restaurant has a parking lot in front but it does get really busy. There are a couple tables inside but if you have a large group you might need to wait a while. If you dine in, you get access to their unlimited salad bar. It includes rice, radish, broccoli, salad and some other stuff. You can't take stuff from the salad bar as part of your to go container if you have leftovers. You can also get stuff from the salad bar after they give you paper plates. After we ordered it took about 5-10 mins to get our food. They give you disposable gloves as well. Honey garlic chicken: 2/5, The chicken wasn't super crunchy. They also give a mix of drum sticks and chicken wings. Their sauce didn't have a strong garlic flavor. It just tasted sweet. I also wish there was more sauce. Korean sauce chicken: 2/5, the waitress described the flavor to be similar to gochujang. We got mild so it wasn't spicy at all. It had a slight sweetness. The overall flavor was just okay but it wasn't my favorite. These wings had more sauce but the wings were not crispy. Not sure if I'll be back. I think there are better Korean chicken spots in the area

Yelp
What I got: Honey Garlic Chicken : 3/5 Soy Sauce Chicken : 3/5 So I went here after going to the climbing gym, and I decided to try this place because my friend recommended it to me. So that being said, I felt like the flavoring for the place was all right. I think I prefer bbq chicken or vons. But that being said, the crispiness of the chicken was very light. It didn't feel super oily, which was surprising because it's fried chicken. The service was pretty good. I really enjoyed this place because they have a salad, rice and radish bar. Honestly, I'd come back for how much radish I was able to get. The ambiance was very casual. Nothing to write home about. I would prefer to just take out the chicken and eat it at home. But then you wouldn't get the unlimited radish. Would I come back again? Yeah, I think so, but I think I would first bring up bbq chicken and vons first lol

Yelp
The chicken wing sizes are decent. My partner and I got full after 3-4 pcs so the 10 pc is perfect for two. Theres unlimited rice and salad bar. Ketchup lovers should choose the red sauced flavors. I wasn't really a fan and the honey chicken is literally just fried chicken drizzled with honey. Would probably come back for the fried chicken to-go and make my own sauces at home.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
Hands down, one of the best fried chicken in the area, the chicken is large, seasoned well, always crispy and pipping hot, like literally what fried chicken is about. This is definitely portioned for take out if seating for one however it's definitely for a family night. Place is small with just enough seating
google avatar

Kara M.

Yelp
Pleased to say that the Korean fried chicken here still hits. Customer service is mid. They've gotten stingy with their salad bar and access is limited lol. They give you 2 paper plates for the salad bar when your order comes out to your table, so you don't start eating from it before your chicken comes out. The red sauce that used to be complimentary is now an extra charge (inflation). I love getting the red sauce and honey on the side, with the original chicken. So good!

Yelp
Came in on a Friday night for the first place and waited a few min before being seated- there's a 5 piece min per person for chicken and unlimited salad/rice. Chicken took a while to come out but there was a big party at the same time as us. We ordered the soy garlic and honey chicken- the skin is crispy but flavor was quite bland. The honey chicken was coated in honey and the soy garlic didn't taste very garlicky. Overall it was an okay experience not sure if I would go out of the way to come back
google avatar

Yelp
The Original 10 piece can feed two at a great price. The to go service was about a 10 minute wait. It wasn't salty or seasoned enough for me but it comes with salt, pepper and radishes which is perfectly light and acidic to cut through the heaviness of the chicken. Clean inside and bathroom. Salad bar for dine-in only.
google avatar

Francis T.

Yelp
I went with some friends. They have an ordering minimum now. They also don't give out the place for the salad and rice bar till the chicken comes out now. The ordering minimum was kinda whack it was ok if your group could eat. But the mom made the party with the dad and multiple kids order like 2 fulls . Yea I love the chicken still but dam. A lot of changes.

Yelp
99 Chicken is the OG of the Korean fried chicken in the South Bay, and can't believe it's taken me so long to finally try it! Huge drums and not too overly sauced (minus the spicy version) and can really enjoy the fresh fried goodness of the chicken. Garlic soy is my favorite and it was really good! Also tried the honey one which wasn't too sweet! Great quality fried chicken!

Yelp
Fried chicken is always cooked well and very yummy. Service is good. Casual ambiance.

Yelp
Love coming here for some quality Korean fried chicken. There's not a whole lot of flavors compared to some other big kfc chains, but that's okay because they have the classics and that's all I really need. I recommend the soy garlic and the honey chicken! The chicken is well fried and the wings and drumsticks are huge. Crispy, juicy, and the glaze is super good. I recommend dining in so you can take advantage of their side bar too. It's nothing crazy- rice, salad, radish- but considering other chains will charge you for these basic sides this is still much appreciated. Will be back for all my kfc cravings!

Chel V.

Yelp
Found my new favorite comfort food in San Clara! We ordered the combination chicken. So satisfying and service is good too!

Yelp
order: soy garlic wings SOOO YUMMYYYY!!! ONE OF FAV KOREAN FRIED CHICKENN PLACESSS. haven't had in so long, have just been eating leftovers from my brother whenever i'm back the chicken pieces r huge and they r crispy!! sauce is soo declious, like not overpowering but also not bland idk perfect balance. they have like a topping bar with pickled radish, coleslaw, and salad. pickled radish was okay, not as crunchy as i liked but they tasted good. the dressing for the salad is soooo good, it's kinda sweet but idk i haven't tried smt similar. workers r super nice too, very sweet HAHAHA. overall super good and def recommend yummy rating: 10/10

Yelp
This is my favorite korean fried chicken not gonna lie. But the server thats mostly behind the register everytime we come is so not welcoming. We eat here at lot, we come for the food but its just sad how rude that girl is. Second, i dont get why for take outs and sauce in the side they charge too much, $3 for a small sauce on the side. Aren't we paying for the chicken with the sauce already? But just wanted it on the side. Third is the salad, we wanted to buy some for to go since we're not eating at the store but that girl behind the counter again said no in a rude manner. This place has good food just bad customer service. I hope you guys make a change for the better,

Yelp
Hit up this SJ staple on a Saturday night around 7 pm. Place was pretty empty, but I've been told it typically gets busy. My boyfriend and I ordered the half honey garlic and half spicy korean fried chicken. I believe each flavor came with three drumsticks and two wings. Chicken 8/10--crispy but the texture felt a tiny bit off for some reason. If you're unsure what to get, honey garlic is a classic. The spicy Korean sauce has gochujang in it so it has a bit of a kick. Rice 11/10--maybe it was scooping it directly from the rice cooker or the large batch cooked, but this was the BEST rice I've ever had. Rice at home never tastes as good. Salad 9/10--fresh and crisp: sweet ginger dressing is an acquired taste Pickled radish 6/10--would've liked it sweeter and less salty Really affordable, hole in the wall vibes for some of the best comfort food. Would definitely come back, highly recommend.

Yelp
I've been coming here for almost 15 years and in MY opinion, it is hands down the best place to get Korean Fried Chicken! Besides coming here to fulfill my fried chicken cravings, which could be twice or thrice a month but who's counting! Every time I have visitors that aren't from around here, this is a go to place I would take them to eat. If you decide to dine in, they offer an all you can eat salad bar and unlimited rice! They serve drumsticks (not drumettes) and whole chicken wings. I say that this is hands down the best Korean fried chicken because the flavor is present throughout the whole chicken. My go to order is Soy Sauce Chicken half spicy half mild, and their hot honey chicken. The service here is great. They used to have pictures of their guests on the walls but they've renovated since then and the look is more modern. But they've remolded still have remnants of how it was before like the newspaper articles and some pictures. 10/10 Will continue to keep coming back to eat here and would recommend to anyone who loves fried chicken!

Yelp
So I've been going to this mom n pops restaurant for a very long time now & it just gives you the great homemade chicken vibes, all you can eat salad & rice you want.... Fast forward to now, since I assume it's the daughter that took over the restaurant, she's changed a lot of that vibe for me; chicken prices have gone up (which I understand) the rice is no longer free, AND you don't get your paper plate until you receive your chicken order!!! Don't get me wrong, the chicken is still good but it isn't the same 99 chicken as it used to be!

Molly E.

Yelp
Not sure if it's new management or what, but they've gotten really stingy with dine-in. Everyone has to order a 5-piece minimum of chicken (even kids who won't eat that much), and they don't even give you plates for the salad bar until your chicken arrives. Rice used to be included with the salad bar, but now it's an extra $3. When we asked why it had to be 5 pieces, they said they can't tell if people are going to eat the salad bar or not. On top of that, they even charge for to-go boxes. The chicken itself is still good, but the overall dine-in experience just isn't worth it anymore. I'd recommend ordering to go if you really want the chicken, but I wouldn't dine in again.

Yelp
I've had 99 Chicken a few times, YEARS AND YEARS ago!! Prior to today's visit, I've only had it via takeout. TBH, I wasn't ever really blown away by the food or quality. The only thing that stuck out from my visits was the salad bar open to dine-in customers- generous on the owner's part. After a fun filled morning in Santa Clara, I made the decision to stop by here and give 99 Chicken another go. Our family and I walked in for lunch and were immediately seated after confirming our party size. The menu is pretty straightforward. Each meal offered consists of 10pc chicken and you decide on what sauce(s) you'd like. There are 6 sauces available on top of the original [naked]: Spicy, Sauce, Honey, Honey Garlic, Soy Sauce, & Korean. Additional 5pc orders are available for an additional cost. If you are indecisive like myself or would prefer an assortment of flavors, order #5 or 8 is the way to go. Lunch for us 2 adults, 1 toddler ended up being the Combination Chicken. Between our 10pc chicken we are given 4 different sauces [one being naked]. Food: The chicken is served fresh and oh so very HOT! Every piece was thoroughly cooked- still very moist inside and contained a nice crunch at its exterior. The original [naked] could have used some flavoring [or maybe some ketchup!!] and the spicy sauce vs sauce tasted the same without any bit of heat. Honey was my favorite of the 4 variations provided in the combination. Salad bar isn't anything overly exciting but you can't beat that FREE.99 cost. Pickled radish cubes are the only things I ate but there are leafy greens, broccoli, and jalapeños provided. Rice is also complimentary so the business asks that you are mindful in only taking whatever you can consume. 3.5 overall. Staff could be a bit more welcoming as opposed to just being very dry and short but I bumped the rating to a 4 just because 99 Chicken is so generous with the complimentary salad bar.

John N.

Yelp
I've been coming to 99 Chicken for a while, and a lot has changed recently -- not for the better. Before, you could get plates and enjoy the salad bar/rice right away while waiting for the chicken, but now you can't access anything until the chicken comes out. What used to be unlimited salad bar and rice is now $3 per rice bowl. The chicken is still great, no doubt about it -- crispy and flavorful. But every time we come back, there's always some new rule or change, which makes the experience less enjoyable and more confusing. I understand prices are going up everywhere, but the way things are being cut back here takes away from the value this place used to have.
google avatar

Teresa C.

Yelp
The dine-in experience was a little disappointing. Although the chicken is very tasty, crispy and hot off the fryers, all the restrictions they have implemented take away from the whole thing. You are forced to order 5 pieces per person (5yo and up), and the rice which used to be included on the salad bar is now an additional charge. I agree on a price increase, but forcing you to order extra food without a trade doesn't seem right. I think 99 has lost its charm. Maybe order to go but miss on the fresh chicken.
google avatar

Breanna N.

Yelp
Best of cluck! Experience (3/5 stars): *Food: I haven't been here in years, totally forgot how big the wings are! Got the fried and honey garlic. Chicken was crispy, hot, and juicy. Salad bar and rice were unlimited. Get some Cass to drink on the side! *Price: $30 for half & half *Service: self-serve Overall, solid place but I'd rather go to bbq chicken.

Yelp
The best Korean fried chicken spot!! I have come here so many times back when I was in highschool. I was sad to see that they renovated the interior and had to take down the pictures on the walls of other customers (now displayed as a slideshow) The fried chicken is always fresh, juicy, made to order, and huge! Go to has always been the soy sauce chicken but now I will have to throw in the Korean sauce chicken into the mix. You also cannot forget about the self serve salad bar that is AYCE to all diners! Best way to cut down all the protein and have a balanced meal. They do require a minimum order per headcount but I think it is fine. Prices are pricey but I can't complain with the quality and quantity you get! Service can also be a bit spotty but I have never experienced poor service personally - it's always a great time with friends and family here.

Anh T.

Yelp
99 Chicken remains my favorite fried chicken throughout the decades. The fresh crispy chicken and flavorful sauces are unbeatable in my book. My favorite is their soy garlic and my bf likes their new flavor honey garlic. If you dine in, the salad bar is unlimited! I do miss their hot tea they used to provide. Service is quick and very minimal (which I don't mind at all). The place is small so if you need something during your meal, it's not too much trouble to wave someone down or walk over to the counter. The main con is the parking lot during dinner time. The parking lines are barely visible and coupled with bad drivers... well it's not a good combo. Aside from that, this is a yummy budget friendly meal!
google avatar

Naomi N.

Yelp
this is me and my boyfriend's go to. the chicken is always hot fresh and crunchy. we always get the friend chicken half spicy soy and half soy since i can't eat spice. the staff is very friendly and attentive. they give you two plates for sides like lettuce, cabbage, rice, etc. they limit you to two but you can always reuse your plate to grab more. MUST TRY THE PEANUT SALAD DRESSING, it's the darker colored sauce next to the ranch. it is soooooo good, i eat so much cabbage with it. honestly i dip my chicken in it. it is their very own store recipe! i wish i could buy a bottle for myself.

Tammy V.

Yelp
They made us order a 5 piece minimum per person but we just wanted the combo for a group of 4 and said that we couldn't take any of the lettuce bar to go? The chicken was huge but mid.
google avatar

Bryanna O.

Yelp
So, this is a place where my family and I would go to all the time. Recently, there has been a shift in management where everything is an extra charge now. For example, before, rice and the salad bar were complimentary for dine in as long as you met the minimum when purchasing the chicken and requesting sauce on the side was also free! Now, when you go sauce is an extra charge, rice is an extra charge, boxes are an extra charge, taste doesn't feel the same, you can only get the salad bar once your chicken is at the table, and they removed all the customer photos from the wall. I used to love going to this spot but now it just doesn't seem worth it. Hopefully things will change later on.

Yelp
Just for a family of 5 (2 kids, 1 teen & 2 adults) we spent over $100! They "make" you order 5 pieces of chicken per person, even the kids (my kids ate 1 piece of chicken each!). There's no option to pay per piece. Although salad (just mixed green lettuce & pickled radish) is included, rice is now extra (when we went years ago it was free). Then they charged us a for to-go boxes (knowing very well we won't finish the chicken). Honestly, the chicken is only ok; nothing spectacular. They just simply fry it in peanut oil and it's really all about the sauces, which aren't complicated ingredients. You're better off getting more bang for your buck at Wing Stop, Smoke Eaters, or heck, even KFC or Popeyes! The prices are too expensive for the value. Never will we go again.

Yelp
Got turned away for needing to order a 5 chicken minimum per person. We wanted a quick snack for our group and planned to order one order of 10 piece with appetizers and soju but that was not enough for our party of 5. Never heard of this rule and I've been here before.
google avatar

Jimmy T.

Yelp
The place was clean and felt welcoming. The service was fast and straightforward. For newcomer, they provide clear instructions on what to do. The food was delicious and chicken was much bigger than expected. It is on a pricer side for chicken, but they compensate it with an all you can eat vegetable and rice area. I wish they had more option for vegetables. Overall, a good place to grab some delicious chicken!

Yelp
Came with a party of 4 on a Friday night and luckily got the last open table. The space is cozy but not overly loud, considering it was a full house. A worker was quick to help us out and explain the menu. They have free self-serve white rice and a salad bar. I noticed they changed the rice while I was there, so it's good to know it's always fresh. We got two half-and-half's: 1 half spicy and half soy garlic, and 1 half spicy soy garlic and half honey garlic. Chicken was freshly fried, crispy, and juicy. All the flavors were so good, and the chicken wasn't overly dressed (which I personally favor). The spicy soy garlic definitely stood out to me as the best flavor, so I recommend that. Would love to come back and try their different flavors, and to try their chicken sandwiches!

Yelp
Don't waste your money here!!!!! Enter at your own risk! SOCIAL MEDIA hype this place up and miss out telling actual details! The people here our extremely rude the moment you walk in red flag! Ambiance is worth a one star and most importantly the food is overly priced!! It's 30 bucks for a 10 wings with no fries, nor drink! I ended up going to BBQ CHICKEN which is few minutes down the street and best decision ever!
google avatar

Yelp
Don't even get me started, this place is everything you could want and more. Go in and get a plate of chicken & indulge in the AYCE Korean starters bar. The service team is incredibly friendly and helpful! It a "hole in the wall" in the sense that it's lowkey and amazing! Go support this small business!!

Yelp
Just went today to get some Chicken to go. Wanted to try something different than my usual go-to fried chicken places. I ordered the Honey Garlic and the Soy Sauce (half&half). It came with around 10 decent size parts. 5 per flavor. Plus a small side of pickled radish. Total was around $35 including tax. Estimated time was 15 minutes to get my order. The smell was good. I tried both flavors and I like the Honey Garlic more. It says it's one of their newest flavors. I like how it does not have heavy breading. Sometimes, I just want to enjoy the skin of the chicken, which I did in this case. I wonder how the other flavors taste, like a spicy one. I'm gonna try again next time. It's just a smaller restaurant, but there's a good number of tables that sits 4 people. P.S. We're so hungry when we got home, that I forgot to take photo of the chicken.

Yelp
I like this shops Korean fried chicken more than other shops in the area. The salad bar is minimal but goes great with the chicken. Great value compared to most restaurants at this time. Love how they have strict rules regarding the salad bar, reminds me of the soup episode on Seinfeld, try taking some rice home and expect to hear " no Korean fried chicken for you, banned for life". Not sure why, but this makes this place have more character for me, highly recommended but do not take any rice home!!

Yelp
How is this place a 3.5 star???? My friends and I came in on a Wednesday night around 7:30PM. It wasn't too crowded and we were able to find a table. Our host was very nice and friendly and informed us that there WERE peanuts involved in certain dishes (huge because 2/4 of us are allergic). So we ordered accordingly. We ordered 2 ordered of honey garlic and 1 order of the Korean spicy chicken and both were off the charts fantastic. We also ordered a soju cocktail and split it and it was sooo good. The chicken is very crispy while having a heavenly sauce. Usuallly I worry about soggy wings but not the case at all. Piping hot crispy wings that ALSO have flavor is a perfect combination. It was serve yourself with rice and salad and there wa sa minimum of 5 pieces for each person which was a rule we did not know about but it didn't matter cuz we ate so much hahaha The order for us came out to about $30 a person including tip. Such a great spot and honestly very deceiving in terms of help reviews. I WILL be back

Yelp
One of the first Korean Chicken Offerings in the area, I have much respect. My go to is the Garlic soy.

Yelp
My bf and I loved coming here to get Korean fried chicken but the last time we went was a miss... We spent about $45 on chicken, 1 order of fries, and side of spicy sauce. The chicken size has gotten smaller. Plates are limited now and we have to wait to get plates to start the salad unlike before. Before when we would dine in they would give us plates right away and there was no limit on the rice/ salad bar. However we were told that some customers took advantage of the salad, as a result, they limit each customer to 2 plates.

Yelp
Terrible service and unprofessional attitude FROM THE OWNER! I used to be a loyal customer here for years, but after my last visit, I will never come back. The reason? The owner told my husband she "does not welcome him" because he ate "TOO MUCH" of the ALL YOU CAN EAT salad. It was just my husband, our 5-year-old son, and me. My husband loves the salad dressing here, so he always looks forward to it. The restaurant has a rule that each person must order at least 5 wings or a half portion, which we completely understand. That's why we always order 15 wings total to meet the requirement, knowing our 5-year-old can't finish a full portion and I often can't finish mine either. We usually take the leftovers home. During our last visit, the owner gave us dirty looks the entire time. When my husband went up to pay, she said, "I've noticed you only come here to eat the salad. If that happens again, I don't welcome you." That is the worst attitude I've ever experienced in a restaurant. If the business feels they're losing money on the salad, then raise the price, WE DON'T MIND PAYING EXTRA FOR GOOD FOOD BUT I BET NOONE EVER WANT TO PAY FOR HORRIBLE SERVICE. Don't shame or scold paying customers who follow your rules. Calling out a loyal customer for eating the very items you claim are "all-you-can-eat" is unacceptable. If you can't honor what you advertise, maybe you shouldn't be in business.

Yelp
This used to be our go to spot after every hike, which was pretty much every weekend, but ever since their new ownership, it's been going straight downhill and suffice to say we won't be coming back unless the rude service is significantly improved. They now have an extremely strict policy on the salad and rice bar, which was never the case in the past. I totally understand they need to make a profit but if they are so concerned about the cost, maybe change the business model instead of making the customers feel like they are begging for food that they paid a fair price for. They also charge for to-go boxes and everyone can only eat off of 2 paper plates, a large one for the chicken and a small one for the salad, which was weirdly specific. We had a couple pieces of chicken left and didn't want to pay for a to-go box so we put the left over chicken on our allocated paper plates to bring home, to which the waitress promptly yelled at us telling us we cannot do that. They only told us we couldn't take the leftover salad/rice home, which we weren't doing, we didn't even have any salad/rice. I honestly don't need to be yelled at when I'm paying a fair price for my well deserved chicken, there are many other good chicken places in the area, this one is now a hard pass unless the customer service gets better.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years, and this place is going downhill fast. Super cheap with sauce on the chicken. Looks like they put what little sauce you get in the box first, then put the chicken on top. Rice portions are a joke. Definitely the last time I ever go here, and will actively tell people to avoid this place from now on. Not worth the money anymore, what a shame.

Yelp
This is an OG spot for korean fried chicken that I've gone to for years. Absolutely hits the spot every time. There's a small salad bar with some shredded cabbage, spring mix, and pickled jalapeños and pickled daikon, as well as rice, all of which are unlimited. They used to let you go up and grab your own plates but recently they changed it so that they give you the plates when your chicken comes out to the table. My group got the spicy soy garlic and korean sauce chicken. Their sauces are really good and hit all the right flavor notes. Their chicken is fried really nicely, crispy on the outside and juicy inside. I really like that they use drumsticks and the whole wings here, although this is purely personal preference. Service here is not the warmest, but I wouldn't say it's unfriendly just minimalistic. Of course though, the food absolute ly makes up for it.
