"The Staten Island, Lower East Side, and Sunset Park locations of this Chinese hot pot chain are all currently open for outdoor dining. 99 Favor Taste offers individual hot pots in case you don’t want to share a big bowl of broth with someone. Keep their AYCE hot pot in mind for a celebratory group dinner for around $25 per person, especially because 99 Favor Taste has a policy of giving birthday diners a free meal with proof of ID. Birthday or not, expect six different broth choices and things like fish roe balls, enoki mushrooms, and fried dough to plunge into said broth." - Hannah Albertine

"This Chinese hot pot restaurant has locations all around the city, and it’s a great place to celebrate a birthday, especially because they’ll give you a free meal with proof of ID. If it’s not your birthday, rely on 99 Favor Taste whenever you get in the mood to eat an unconscionable amount of hot, broth-dipped meat and seafood on a random Tuesday night. There’s a small backyard at the New Dorp Lane spot, and they’re offering half-off cocktails and beer for $2.59 during weekday Happy Hour between 4pm and 7pm. Call 718-808-0099 to make a reservation." - Hannah Albertine

This is our second time coming. We came for our middle daughter's 11th birthday and I cannot say enough great things. First of all the waiters are all amazing and attentive. They have a huge selection of fresh meats, seafood, vegetables and more. We chose to do the hot pot and barbecue. My son had a great time handling the grill. We chose to get individual hot pots and I highly recommend the kimchi soup base. The drinks were on point. We had mojitos and sex on the beach. This is such a great experience with delicious food and a beautiful atmosphere. I love the extensive sauce bar as well. Another bonus is that you eat free on your birthday. I brought my daughter's birth certificate and her meal was free. Everyone there ensured that my daughter's birthday was perfect. I told them it was her birthday and asked if they had dessert and they brought out some ice cream with a candle and played birthday music. Can't wait to go back!

I don’t think it’s possible to say enough kind things about this place. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was even better. Unfortunately, because of Covid, only outdoor dining was available… Though I have to say, given what they have done with the place and the options available to them, I probably would have chosen outdoor dining anyway. They do seafood very well here, and the barbecue is excellent as well. Starting with oysters, and then a dinner combo each, we both walked away perfectly satisfied. And then the bill came in a cute, custom engraved box! The price was a little high, but given the quantity and quality, I do not mind, and I know that we will be returning here hopefully sooner rather than later.

The overall experience was nice. Initial service was also nice during the order. Food got to the table fairly quickly, then service part simply stopped and no one stopped by our table to ask how we're doing or if we wanted to order anything else for almost 1 hour.... The hot pot water already steamed out and we needed to figure out how to turn it off by ourselves, before all started to burn. Can't say the lack of attention was due to them being very busy at the later evening point. Yet again, the overall experience was good - may be they need an extra person on staff to pay a bit more attention to the tables.

A great experience at a new restaurant. This was my first time trying hotpot and it definitely won't be the last. The servers were kind and very accommodating. We got the duo pot and bbq. The spicy broth was delicious and I liked how the bbq was done for you. I would recommend the watermelon juice and enoki mushrooms, plus everything else.

Reason for going: Birthday Dinner Pros: Gorgeous Decor Good food for moderate pricing Attentive and respectful staff Spacious seating Clean private bathrooms Clean restaurant Bonus Points: 1. Offered plastic bags for your coats so they don't smell 2. Outside washing station with Listerine and lotion 3. Sauce station with regulated temperature 4. Offer gum Cons: Parking Overall: Its great to see a little more culture make its way into Staten Island. And this Hot Pot place offers a get away from your typical pizza and pasta around every corner. You can see they thought of every detail in the decor and put effort into making the restaurant look beautiful. And it absolutely shows. Although the food does not stand out to me as memorable, there's a great selection of food to enjoy and you can simultaneously have soup and barbeque. I am by no means a meat eater but the marinaded house sauce steak is tasty. This place is great for a date and for the family and friends. I definitely recommend this place and I'm excited to have a new addition to the island! 📷@datasianjan

Brand new dining experience! Literally, you get to cook the food at your table. There's basically no waiting time to dig in! I love that they have an area for the diners to go and make their own sauces with all types of beautiful flavors! The waiting staff was attentive & very kind.

2022.08 now $27pp. Nothing much change, food or service. Not much choice still, and many of them are out of stock, missing order even computerized and quarterly fulled. A bit disappointed, also sanitary need to improve a lot, cups are greasy. 2019.10 compare to other hot pot. $25 all u can eat. This one is lack of choice of sauce, meat, and vege. Seat not comfy at all. Either table too tall or chair too short... I m six ft tall already. Food quality is normal. Nothing special. This one is their 4th branch. If others are exactly the same then I don't think I will go again. Oh don't refer to their web site for the menu it is different. Much different. Service so so.... And their English name is 97 favor taste. Not 99
