"After years of construction, 99 Ranch soft-opened in Westwood and will feature a food court that opens next week with Lima Nikkei hand rolls, a 99 Ranch Market Hot Deli, and Monkey King Brewery, while One Zo Boba and Noodology are slated to open there in early 2024." - Matthew Kang

I’m so glad 99 Ranch Market opened in Westwood. It’s the closest location to my place and has quickly become my go-to spot. This place is pretty clean and well organized. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the store has everything I need, whether I’m picking up ingredients to make Asian food at home or just grabbing some of my favorite snacks. The prices are reasonable, and the whole shopping experience is super easy and convenient especially they have their own free parking garage on lower level. Highly recommend!

Google
A Delightful Culinary Experience at 99 Ranch Market. I absolutely must share my wonderful experience at 99 Ranch Market! This isn't just a place to buy groceries; it's a true community hub, and the people who work here are genuinely kind and make all the difference. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by how incredibly helpful and welcoming the staff is. Whether I was looking for a specific asian sauce, needed advice on preparing an unusual vegetable, or just had a quick question about a brand of noodles, the employees went out of their way to assist. They didn't just point—they would often walk me right to the aisle and offer helpful tips. Their kindness feels completely genuine, creating a warm, neighborly atmosphere that is often missing in larger stores. Beyond the wonderful people, the selection is fantastic: The produce section is always pristine, with an excellent variety of exotic fruits and vegetables you won't find anywhere else. They stock everything from essential pantry items (rice, oils, spices) to a huge range of imported snacks, frozen goods, and high-quality seafood and meats. This is clearly a place run by people who know and love authentic Asian cuisine. If you're looking for a top-tier Asian supermarket with competitive prices and, most importantly, a staff that makes you feel valued and appreciated, look no means further than 99 Ranch Market. I look forward to every visit

She ate so well today. She was really eager for every bite, and I haven’t seen her enjoy a meal like that in such a long time. It was honestly the best food ever for her.

We get fresh fish and our favorite ice cream here. There is also a large selection of desserts. Lots of free parking available under the store

Dang, I wish there was a 99 Ranch Market when I was at school here. 99 Ranch took over what I think was a Borders or some other bookstore from years before. They take the entire first floor and part of the second floor. A kawaii goods store and a hot deli food court area (still under renovation for an incoming tenant) occupy the rest of the second floor. I walked here from Westwood so can't comment on the parking situation. I'm very impressed with the variety of products this location has, given there's not enough space for a usual sized 99 Ranch Market. They have the usual things expected from an Asian market as well as some of the trending products found online. Prices were pretty reasonable for a location on the Westside and in a more metropolitan area! Love that the bakery / cafe is right by the street intersection for convenience. The market itself was really clean and organized. I had to head elsewhere afterwards, otherwise I would've picked up some groceries from the freezer and refrigerated sections. Next time!

Google
This store is amazing!! So many awesome Asian ingredients available for your culinary adventures at home. Also there is a food hall upstairs!! It's really nice with some extraordinary offerings. Lima Nikkei, the sushi spot upstairs is unlike any other, Japanese and Peruvian flavors give this restaurant a unique twist. The bakery is really nice too with many cool pastries and sandwiches. The Hot Deli for the store featuring Chinese food ( like Panda Express style) is also upstairs and is always on point! Come hungry and leave happy.

Google
Just wow... everything was super clean, fresh, and orderly. Great Asian grocery selection including an amazing Thai tea mix (make it yourself). Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend... found out they have a hot food cafeteria upstairs (which sadly I didn't get to explore as I went too late in the day), it closes at 6p (if I recall correctly)

Google
I have been waiting for this store to open for a long time, and I was not disappointed when I finally visited it. The store is spacious, clean, and well-stocked with a variety of Asian products, from fresh produce and seafood to snacks and frozen foods. The bakery section has delicious pastries and cakes, and the coffee and tea bar offers refreshing drinks. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the prices are reasonable. The underground parking is convenient and free for 90 minutes with validation. I also can't wait to try the food court upstairs, which is supposed to have different cuisines and vendors. This is a great addition to the Westwood area, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Asian food or wants to try something new.

Yelp
Great place for authentic Chinese food and fresh produce and delicious Asian food and fresh vegetables and fruits for your family and Chinese household

Yelp
Westwood finally got its own 99 Ranch and I feel like I won the Asian grocery lottery. An actual Chinese market within reach--with its own parking lot. In Westwood. That alone deserves five stars. The store itself? Solid. Dumplings, sauces, snacks, produce--basically the essentials for anyone who needs soy sauce in quantities larger than a shot glass. The crowd though... it's hilarious. It's like every shopper is 18-25. UCLA students in pajama pants grabbing hot pot broth like it's finals week fuel. Honestly, I felt like I was intruding on a dorm kitchen run. And the kicker? This shiny little Chinese market is plopped right in the middle of Persian Square. Only in LA do you get saffron ice cream, kabobs, and a 99 Ranch as neighbors. It's like a UN meeting but for food cravings. Westwood, you did good.

Yelp
99 Ranch Market is our go-to for fresh fish, specifically Dover Sole/USA/Wild. Apparently my hubby and I are not the only customers to demand this fish as it's often sold out shortly after hitting the department. First task on my honey's honey do list is to source our finned fave on a weekly basis. After multiple disappointing trips, the fish monger suggested calling ahead, provided 99 Ranch Market's phone number. Today's quick call, even quicker connection to sea food department made for one of our quickest fitness walks to reel in tonight's dinner. Snagged one of two remaining pre-packaged fillets along with zucchini, asparagus, shallots and a lemon from 99 Ranch Market's expansive produce department to create tonight's diner: Dover Sole en Papillote with aforementioned veggies plus lemon garlic butter, dill sprig garnish. 99 Ranch Market's friendly, knowledgeable, customer service forward staff from grocery aisles to checkout is always nearby to assist!

Yelp
This was my first time going to 99 Ranch Market and my expectations were super high since I love to shop at Asian Markets. Bakersfield needs a 99 Ranch Market then I wouldn't have to travel approximately 2hrs just to visit this place. I haven't been to other 99 Ranch Markets, but my expectations were super high since at this point I've been to Tokyo Central, HMart, and Seafood City and I feel like 99 Ranch Market was just an okay experience for me. The store has a variety of Asian supplies, food items and lots of Asian products, but I feel like I found more variety at the other places. I definitely want to visit another location to see if it's just this one, but it's super overpopulated and there's no where to park unless the locals can give us some tips. The place is not hard to find, but the outside parking is metered so good luck if you want to get lost inside. I don't know if I would go out of my way to visit this one again, but if I was in the neighborhood then I would love to come by again and pick up my essentials.

Yelp
Don't understand why anyone gives this place fewer than 5 stars. It's got free easy parking underground, a wide selection of Asian foods, and an attentive staff. The prices are amazing (black cod $3 a pound?!) and they have a lot of rare things that are simply impossible to find elsewhere. Great sushi section too!

Yelp
Now parking seems to be unlimited and ticket free. The last two times I've gone over a few months the entrance and exit barriers were up. While you have to carefully drive past a vehicle coming in the opposite direction in the garage, parking is plentiful. The hot deli has improved somewhat. The banana leaf wrapped sticky rice is good and they sell shrimp shumai. Don't like my roasted duck (underseasoned) rice bowl. Was not expecting sour veggies. Are other food court places ever going to open up? The noodle place has a hiring sign but the bar was empty and only the hot deli place is open.

Yelp
Always enjoy shopping at an eclectic diverse and unique market full of interesting products and groceries. I recommend giving yourself enough time to browse thoroughly cause every isle is packed with great items. Free parking structure attached.

Yelp
I certainly come to this 99 Ranch location for the convenience. It's in Westwood so super convenient for Ucla students. This grocery store has a good variety of Asian goods. The pricing does feel a little bit higher than compared to the Gardena location, but it makes sense because there's not that many Asian grocery stores in the area. It's kind of like the City Target version of 99 Ranch. There's multiple levels where the top level has hot foods and a bar. It's been a while since they open, but it seems like the other restaurants that were set to open are not operating at full capacity. There's a bakery which I've fully taken advantage. They have fresh juices like watermelon and honeydew, small prepared foods, and fresh Asian baked buns. The security guards are pretty friendly and staff are helpful when trying to locate items. Love that there is very convenient parking. I never struggle to find a parking spot because it's not too busy.
google avatar

Mimi R.

Yelp
Always find something new here! I love browsing the aisles. Came in close to store closing to pick up some essentials and left with a cart full of things! On the intercom they announced that the bakery breads in the glass casing is buy one get one free. I went over and the cashiers there told everyone it's buy two get one free. Not sure who made the mistake, the intercom person or the cashiers but I did buy 6 and only paid for 4 so that's still a good deal just not the deal I or anyone else that went over there were expecting.

Yelp
Love this Westwood 99 ranch! Clean, cozy, aisles packed with delicious foods and organic, clean, consumer-oriented brands alongside childhood staples... Whoever is managing this 99 ranch market has a degree in business because they really know their westwood clientele-- As a longtime shopper of whole foods organics, I've shifted a good portion of my grocery list to 99 ranch because they carry good stuff and not just unhealthy foods-- Their wildcaught frozen smelt and organic mushrooms brings me in and their hotpot cuts of wagyu and other varieties keep me in the store for longer than I plan. Plus they accept ebt (great, if you're a student) and they have a very clean interior and an awesome food court upstairs with a cute dining area with plenty of tables and chairs for hangouts with friends.

Yelp
My bro in law told me about the 2 story 99 ranch in Westwood so we had to come and take a gander. I have to say it was very very meh compared to the other 99 Ranches in Van Nuys (my tried and true) and SGV. I know Westwood has more limited space and I imagine way pricier leases. BUT I doubt I will ever come here again. Awkward parking situation, wonky store layout, and this is the smallest 99 Ranch I've ever been to - which translates to very very limited selection of goodies I normally pick up. Couldn't find much of what I wanted and what i did get, the prices were higher on each item. I think if I was still in school here, I would be hella happy to have a 99 Ranch close by - but unless I'm a captive audience, I sure wouldn't come to this location as a choice.

Yelp
We went to try the food court on the second floor. There is only deli section open when we got there at 8pm. Most dishes are gone but we were pleasantly surprised to see a few bento boxes left with roast duck, bbq and Hainanese chicken options (with a side of pickled vegetables and rice at the bottom). The duck bento box sells for only $8.99 and has 4-5 big chunks of duck meat. The meat was quite juicy and fatty, exactly what you expect from Chinese roasted duck!

Yelp
It's amazing. I found all the Korean and Indonesian items that I usually have to drive to ktown to find. Very clean and well organized.

Yelp
Stopped at the 99 Ranch Market today on the way to UCLA Medical Center. Went to the bakery and got a Danish Red Bean Bar. It was very big and very good. Looked at all the bakery items. They are around half the price of baked goods at other bakeries in the area and are larger. Looking forward to stopping at the bakery at the 99 Ranch Market and trying something different the next time I am walking up to UCLA Medical Center.

Yelp
Well, I picked up food from the hot deli tonight and it was pretty TERRIBLE. My husband started coughing up a storm and we both felt pretty meh. DO NOT RECOMMEND. If it's possible to rate a 0 this would definitely apply.

Yelp
I was so excited to see a 99 Ranch Market in Westwood, but have since been disappointed with this location. First of all, the parking garage situation is quite a pain. While I appreciate free parking (something that has become quite rare), the spots are really tiny. Also, the elevator can only hold a few people and you can't bring any carts down. Inside, it feels very cramped in the store. They also have a limited selection of products compared to other locations. There have been several times that I've come to pick up a specific item, only to find that they don't carry it or are out of stock at this location. Personally, I'd rather wait until I have time to visit a different location. If I'm desperate for some ingredients I might try stopping by here, but I'd rather avoid it if possible.

Yelp
Love coming here for Chinese necessities -veggies, noodles, tofu, shrimp and meat. Upstairs is a cooked foods deli with bento bowls ready to go, for $10! And they have cha shu and roasted duck too! They have combo plates too. Very convenient. I wish there were more food places upstairs, they have a wine bar it looks like too. We went at 230pm so not busy yet.
google avatar

Juliann T.

Yelp
There is an underground parking. This market has a great selection of items. Everything is clean and organized. I am glad they put this in the space. Upstairs will eventually be a food court but seems like It is still growing
google avatar

Adrian M.

Yelp
I like some items from the market, especially the exotic fruits and vegetables are quite good and fresh. Many of the packaged foods have toxic chemicals (MSG) and ingredients I would not ingest. We tried half order of duck from the cafe upstairs for $23 and it was mostly fat skin and bones. Very little meat and super oily. Not very tasty at all compared to any restaurant. I would not recommend it.
google avatar

Yelp
I've waited so long with high excitement for this location to open to have access to variety of LIVE SEAFOOD (Live fish) that Chinese markets carry in SanGabriel area. BUT NOPE! This is just a supermarket that carries normal Asian shelf products or produce. Nothing more special than any local Asian markets in LA. They maybe have live lobsters or crabs sometimes. But you can get that anywhere. Very disappointed. I get that this location is close to UCLA and it seems like it's targeted for young students only.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Yay to 99 Ranch opening closer to home! There is tons of underground parking (it's tight though), everything is so well organized and super clean right now, and staff is surprisingly great. At checkout, our lady was so helpful! Even the security guard was friendly. They have some good sales going on, too, plus so many delicious things. This is right by UCLA so prepare for tons of cute, unsullied students on grocery trips. On my most recent trip, a few delicious things I had: Cookie Butter Egg Rolls $3.99 Turtle Corn Soup Chips $4.49 Taipei Sesame Crisps $2.49 Frozen flower pancake on sale for $3.98 (normally $6) Cheese Toast bread $3.99 Enoki Mushrooms 99 cents White Beech Mushrooms 89 cents And the infamous Tik Tok viral Great Forest Propitious Mango ice cream in the shape of a mango, as I got for $13.99 but they also have the OG peach and lemon. Bring your own bags or pay 10 cents for a reusable plastic bag. The food court upstairs has 3 spots open currently with more to come. There is a lot of seating up there and the staff is equally as friendly as in the market. The brewery guy brought us water to our table. We didn't even order from him, what a kind soul!
google avatar

Yelp
Finally a 99 ranch nearby !! Yipppie ! Such a huge store. Products are a tad bit more expensive than your typical 99 ranch in the sgv area. On the top floor you'll find the alcoholic drinks and the food court. Bathrooms are also available upstairs. Main floor is dedicated to groceries and also has pretty a huge section for beauty products. I spent my most of my time there. They have such a large isle dedicated to kbeauty. I literally wanted to get one of everything because they're all so nicely packaged. Bakery shop is also downstairs !

Yelp
We had planned to celebrate Christmas with family in LA since they came home to Hawaii to celebrate Thanksgiving with us. At the time, my eldest brother-in-law mentioned the opening of a new 99 Ranch Market in Westwood that is closer and more convenient to his home and promised to take us here to shop or market. Well, since we are down to our last full day of a two-week vacation in Los Angeles, today was THE day to go there. The new 99 Ranch - Westwood is located at the corner of Westwood Boulevard and Rochester Avenue and officially opened on November 29, 2023. My brother-in-law has visited this location several times since it opened and gave us a rundown of the new market. His descriptions encouraged us to get there early in our vacation, before Christmas Day, but unfortunately, we had other activities. We liked the design or layout of the store where the entrance is opposite from its checkout stands, and there's less chance(s) of customers entering the store to retrieve a grocery cart with those leaving with carts to ever bump into each other. We immediately noticed more variety of Asian food products (fresh and frozen), yet the market is much smaller than other 99 Ranch Markets that we've been into. Also, the food displays appeared more organized and less picked through. Also, there wasn't a butcher on duty, so all meats were cut, packaged, and neatly displayed. However, there was a fishmonger on duty who was friendly and efficient as he scooped out live shellfish from tanks or fresh fish from the display case before weighing and labeling them for purchase. The shelves of dried food ingredients, canned goods, and pre-packaged snacks were colorful, neatly stacked, and clearly marked with product descriptions and prices. There is a bakery/coffee shop at the Rochester Avenue end of the store where many Asian savory or sweet pastries can be found. Maybe because I was chilled for the mid-morning overcast and drizzly weather, I could only think about making meals for hot pot, Korean BBQ, steamed or stir-fried fish dishes, or Chinese meat or seafood casseroles. I look forward to returning to this market and will explore its food court the next time I'm here.
google avatar

Marko C.

Yelp
This is one of the newer Ranch 99 grocery stores. The layout is weird as it is like a U-shaped store. There is produce on one side and the canned goods on the other side. The selection here is limited. The prices are a bit higher. Upstairs there is a bar (alcohol) area and a food hall. Not everything is fully functional despite being open for several months.
google avatar

Debbie R.

Yelp
The fact that there's a 99 Ranch Market in West LA deserves five stars in concept. Keep in mind though that this is a mini version, so it doesn't have everything. There's free underground parking but it's cramped and the elevator that takes you up to the market feels like it's 100 years old. But it's free so can't complain too much. The produce section is decent. The meat section has lots of hot pot options. The seafood section has fresh fish. Next is the refrigerated section which has dairy, noodles, tofu, soy, preserved vegetables, buns, and some prepared items. I don't feel like there's anything missing but somehow it feels limited. Beyond that, there's frozen prepared foods and desserts, lots of instant noodles, snacks, crackers, canned goods, household items, teas, sodas, box drinks. The bakery carries breads and desserts (but not Hong Kong style egg tarts). If you're looking for essentials, I think they'll have it but stock is limited. As an example, I needed dry sago and there was only one bag left. I couldn't find agar-agar. Right now, there's a ton of moon cakes. Hope this helps. Two stars for the dingy parking, creaky elevator, and limited inventory. Five stars just for having one in West LA. One star for two incidents of damaged packaging and tofu gone bad. Mostly hits, some misses.

Lily S.

Yelp
great selection of hot pot/ shabu shabu meats. my favorite parts of this market are the frozen Chinese foods and they meats and poultry. also their fresh turmeric and ginger roots are more affordable here than other markets. its also always clean and easy free parking in the garage
google avatar

Alyssa N.

Yelp
No line, and food is premade so it's very practical. Everything here is VERY affordable. $11 for 2 entree and 1 side. My favorite entree here was the orange chicken, juicy and crunchy. The beef was a bit dry, but still flavorful. And the kung pao chicken had a nice flavor, loved the peanuts!

Yelp
A Ranch 99 on the Westside?! Yes, count me in! After much anticipation, this store has finally opened and took over the Ross in Westwood Blvd. Because it used to be a Ross, the layout is a bit strange and confusing. For example, the sliding doors entrance is one way only. You cannot exit through the entrance doors. I had paid and checked out, and wanted to check a price in the produce section which is in front of the entrance, and once the doors close, you can't go back out. You have to walk all the way through the store to the exit. It's kind of like IKEA that you have go through the store in a certain direction. You have to start in the produce section, then the freezer section, and then it opens up to the aisles of dried food. There's a parking garage underneath which is a plus. I believe it validates for 90 minutes, but both times I've been there the parking rail was up and it was free and I didn't need a ticket. The store is well stocked enough with your Asian essentials. I'm happy to not have to drive to Van Nuys to pick up Asian greens now. The service at the self-checkout was friendly. There is also a food court upstairs that I will check out next time. It looks like at the moment there's just a few restaurants open and there are more coming. Also, the liquor and beer is upstairs and is a separate checkout which is a little strange too. Other the layout that takes some getting used to, this will be my go-to Ranch 99 because it's the closest, is clean, has good service and has the Asian essentials.

Mike A.

Yelp
We ate at Hot Deli in the Ranch99 food court. The food smelled so good and they were almost out of meat. Everything looked promising. However, the food was way below average. The pork skin was rock hard and the flavor was not quite there. The duck was just ok. Nothing to be excited about unfortunately.
google avatar

Deborah V.

Yelp
YessS Finallyyy, we've been waiting for 99 ranch to open for many years now. My almost weekly travel to Van Nuys can finally come to an end. The shelving design/organization and traffic flow in the market is really impressive. There are unique selection of produce and cuts of meat that you don't normally find in the area.Produce looked fresh. Prices are reasonable. Service was exceptionally good. Everyone was friendly including the cashiers and security guards. Parking is pretty compact though, so be careful driving in the lot. This will be my go to grocery store now. Store is open everyday from 8am-10pm
google avatar

Mallory C.

Yelp
Like many others on the Westside, I waited for this 99 Ranch's opening for months. And when the opening day finally came, I visited and was so excited to see it bustling. There's a parking garage underground; right now they are making customers park on level P3 and below (it only goes to P4), but the elevator is having many issues. On one of the days I went, I parked on P3 but the elevator up to the market only went as far down as P2. Only one of two elevators seems to work at a time. And there are no stairs as an alternative. This 99 Ranch location is still new and it seems to be working out the kinks. Same thing with the bakery inside. I got a pastry and a coffee, but they completely forgot my coffee order. After 20 minutes of waiting, a fellow customer told me they also forgot her order and the only way to finally get it was to remind the staff. Otherwise, the 99 Ranch supermarket is awesome and it has such a great selection. It's a very big market and there's a nice food court on the top floor, but not all of the vendors are open yet. The Hot Deli was good for essentials like char siu and the Peruvian Japanese sushi place was superb.
google avatar

Kai C.

Yelp
Free validated 3 levels of underground parking Clean organized and bright lit stores Liquor store is on the top level separate from the main supermarket and you can't bring your shopping cart out there. The snacks desserts and Asian selection were amazing and prices are about 20% higher than if you were outside the LA city but it's still nice to have the convenience of a true Asian grocery store within LA city and especially on the west side They have a large produce section and tons of stuff to make hotpot with They also have kitchen applicances too

Yelp
Woohoo! Welcome to the westside! Went today 11/28 and I guess that's the day before the grand opening. It's located at the old Ross. There's a light at the intersection, so it's easy to get to. The parking was plentiful. The entrance and exit is strange. Luckily, I arrived at a slow time but can only image coming at a rush hour time and honking. The entrance and exit merge to one lane. Once you get up to the lobby, there's the produce side and then the grocery side. I didn't check out the produce side, but from afar, everything looked colorful and fresh. The grocery store had aisles full of Asian snacks, drinks and of course hello kitty toilet paper! As of today, I only saw a seafood counter. The fish looked good. I think it was reasonably priced. There was packaged beef, chicken, and other meats, but I didn't pay too much attention to them. I was looking for the bakery but didn't look too hard. I must've missed it. Was looking forward to some milk bread or some baos. We went upstairs to the food court. So far, there's a hand roll counter and the bbq to go counter. The hand roll counter didn't have a menu out at 11:10 ish so we went to the bbq counter. It reminded me of Panda Express but they had TOFU AND EGGPLANT! The rice and noodles were great bases. I paid $10.99 plus tax for the two item combo. Eggplant reminded me of takeout and the tofu was medium firm and reminded me of sweet chili bottled sauce thinned out. There was the display case of the ducks, a small case for sesame balls, and a bento box to go area ($11-$15). The bentos were rice, veggies, meat. Parking was free today, but they do provide validation with purchase for 90 min. I am excited to return when everything is up and running.

Yelp
So stoked on this place! I have never been to a Ranch 99 before and they had some fun stuff!! I hope the word gets out about the food court more they have a burger place, sushi, and chinese. Food looks great but I don't think people know about it much! Huge beautiful space overlooking Westwood blvd. My biggest find was the grouper which I have literally never seen outside of Florida! the rolled meats for bbq, bone marrow, purple asparagus, champagne mangos, jalapeño spam, HK toilet paper, honey butter chips, the list goes on and on. Tons of unique items and flavors of other things we don't have here. Taking my family with me this week to check it out!

Yelp
I was told that I had to leave my backpack up front which had my grocery bags and my 2,000 dollar computer in it. This wouldn't be a problem if I wasn't obviously the only one that was told to do so. I was also the only person in the store of a certain race. The security also kept staring at me the whole time as if I was stealing something. I honestly just decided to leave cause I was so uncomfortable. It's honestly sad cause I actually liked coming to this store as it was the only place that had asian items.

Yelp
I'd give this place a solid 3.5 stars. Prices are a bit high. Staff was friendly. The bathrooms needed major attention. They were filthy with no paper towels either. We bought some groceries. I didn't try the food upstairs as we had just eaten. Maybe next time.

Yelp
Truly the only big box Chinese supermarket on the west side. This 99 Ranch is super new, modern, and clean. Parking in underground garage, though every time I go there's a sign over the machine that says free, but not sure what the rates are or if validation is accepted. I would start by entering through the produce section then working your way around the store. The store is like a U section maze, so really take your time at each section so you don't have to walk all the way back since it's not all connected. Prices can be high, but I would attribute it to the monopoly of being the only Chinese supermarket on the west side. The weekly specials have great deals, especially on the perishables. For snacks and preservative foods, I find prices to be slightly on the higher side. Like other reviewer said, I also wish they had a more expansive selection of items rather than focusing on random knick knacks and snacks. Though lots of UCLA students shopping here due to the location, so that may be their demographic. They also have a 99 Ranch rewards program rolling out, not sure what it does though. The upstairs food court is not ready as of April 2024, but there is a hot bakery section towards the back too. No hot food / ready to serve section like other 99 Ranch.

Yelp
Located in Westwood in an old Ross I think. The underground parking is pretty tight and one of the elevators was down. So we had to wait a while for the elevator to be able to go up. The store is clean, but feels tight. It's one of the smaller 99 Ranches I've been to. It didn't have all of the things a traditional 99 Ranch would carry. But like I said, it's probably one of the cleanest and did not smell of fish like all the other Chinese Supermarkets I've been to. They carry the majority of Asian products, so it's not a biggie if they don't carry everything. It's nice to have an Asian market out in this area for sure.

Yelp
The staff at the registers were unhelpful - and customer service staff were equally dismissive and acting like they were doing me a favor by helping me find certain products. While I'm ectactic to have an Asian shopping market closer than downtown LA or the valley, they could really hire people who a) speak English and b) pride themselves in customer service. Our cities and country is in decay because we're losing our work ethic and standards of customer service. Shelves are fully stocked with great items. The ambiance was weird - bizarre and loud music playing - I think they need better management to run the place.

Yelp
Waited forever for this location to open up! I have mixed feelings about it tho! Some of the items were a bit more expensive than they usually are at other 99 ranches! They also have less produce selection- probably do to space limitations! Store was much cleaner which is a plus and they don't offer plastic bags for your produce which is eco friendly! I wasn't fond of the hot food selection which was very over priced especially for being in a super market!! Roasted duck was more expensive than some restaurants! And the combos were sad looking and expensive! I feel like being as tho they're near a college, they should offer the students food that is a bit cheaper! As I said, this is a market and they're literally charging like a restaurant for food that doesn't even look fresh! Also note that most of the places in the food court haven't opened up yet so that are is pretty deserted.

Yelp
I am not sure what to rate this store The lay out is funky but that's because prior to them moving in, it was a Barnes and Noble and a Ross Store and on the positive side I love Asian food and groceries and this place is like a candy store to me On the other hand I came here specifically for dried bean curd sheets to make pasta-less lasagna which they did have. However, when I opened both packages they were filled with baby worms! My wife was freaking out She wanted me to return them but I just threw them away and needed to pivot from this meal to another Any way- I won't buy bean curd sheets here any longer but I will come back for other things

Yelp
Pro: quality of produce, seafood (they have head on shrimp). Tip: they had free parking when I visited 01/29/2024 This is my first supermarket Yelp rating! I am super excited to have 99 ranch market in West LA. Asian grocery stores always have the best produce and 99 ranch did not disappoint. I bought some citrus, bok choy, salmon, shrimp with head on, and chicken. The building is renovated and everything is brand new. The layout is easy to maneuver although I do think the elevator and parking garage (three levels underground) is a bit eerie. Everything is fresh and a good price. The worker at the fish counter was very friendly and we chatted for a bit. He shared a bit about their services such as cooking fresh lobster for you. I was curious how much a live lobster cost and he weighed one for me ~$25. That was nice of him! It is a blessing to find shrimp with head on in the west side and I am so glad this store opened. The cashier was also very friendly and patient. She walked me through the rewards program and I signed up. Overall, this store was desperately needed in West LA. The produce and seafood is top quality.

Yelp
First time at this 99 Ranch location in Westwood, CA on 8/27/24. It is a really nice and big store. The store seemed clean and pretty organized. It has 2 levels. The first floor has the produce, seafood, and bakery. My friend and I ordered the ham sandwich combo which came with a drink. The sandwich was good but the bread was too thick and wish it had more omelette. It was a good deal for the amount of food you get. I got the cantaloupe drink with no added sugar and it was delicious! The top floor had the deli where you can get fresh duck, rice bowls etc. it looks like more food vendors will be coming. Looking forward to that. I didn't get to explore much bc we were tight on time but definitely a place for shopping and dining. The staff that we encountered with were nice and helpful. They are located on Westwood blvd. Plenty of parking underground and street. We will definitely be back again and try other food options. Next time you want to eat some seafood such as crab and lobster or shrimp, visit 99 Ranch! So glad we have one close by.

Yelp
Yes, finally a 99 Ranch on the Westside! We are all thrilled with this new add to the community. There's also free parking in the lot under the grocery store. The second floor includes some restaurants, including a bar - as well as alcohol purchases. The biggest downside is the selection. It's significantly smaller than the Van Nuys and Gardena locations. On top of that, this 99 Ranch insists on stocking non-Asian groceries (think cereal and kale), which takes up more space from the Asian groceries. I really hope they end up adjusting the selection to better align with the Asian community, especially the Asian produce and freezer sections.

Yelp
Two stars for cleanliness, but this 99 Ranch doesn't offer the same selections as 99 Ranch in San Gabriel, so I still need to trek all the way out there to buy things I like - in particular is the soy milk and tofu pudding. The brands they offer are not as good. Price also more than other 99 Ranch. Food court is pretty sad. Food was not that good.
