This place was great!! SO many options on Asian foods, seafood, fruits, veggies! We specifically went in looking for different fruit to try. We ended up with a jackfruit, pomelo, and some durian ice cream. We also got some ramen, some calamari jerky and a few other treats. Loved it here!!

99 Ranch is a nice place to visit for groceries; it’s clean and organized. When I went around 6 p.m., it wasn’t busy. However, I don’t recommend the prepared food, as it upset my stomach. I tried rice, noodles, pumpkin with pork, and crispy shrimp, which tasted good (shrimp) but I’m unsure how fresh it was, as it could have been leftovers. I was just hungry and needed something for dinner. The restroom was okay—I’m glad they have one, but it could use more cleaning. Overall, though, they have a good selection of items for an Asian market.

The place is huge! Despite all the inventory, it is well organized and very clean. The produce selection is outstanding I didn’t see other parts of the meat department but the cuts and selections of fish available were very impressive. So many great things everywhere I looked. I could have stayed another hour and a half just exploring everything they have to offer. I’ll definitely be back as I won’t be able to stay away!! lol

I moved to Towers At Costa Verde- 8775 Costa Verde Blvd, San Diego, CA 92122 on July 15..2024. The leasing office asked me to do them a favor and change my moving schedule from July 14, which is Sunday to July 15 Monday. I hope they are less busy and will have more time to make the apartment done well. As a new tenant, I try to be good to office staff and make my life easy to live here. However, I first saw the door and window screen in the living room and bedroom were missing, and the leasing office immediately solved this problem. I was very appreciative. But nightmare is continuing, the washing machine was very dirty and disgusting. The leasing office woman did not take it seriously and told me it was not an emergency and had to wait until tomorrow to fix. I asked her again and again if she could call the repair department, and she said they didn't have a phone number and she had done what she could do and all I should do was to be patient, and it was already 3:30pm, that they would be gone in an hour - we are very busy you have to wait until tomorrow. These are necessary things they must check before a new tenant moves in. This is because of health safety and if the dryer has so much lint it might cause a fire, basic knowledge. Next, I checked if the cooking and dishwasher had the same problem....and yes, the fan, very dirty and oily, sticks to my hand. I just tried to clean, the components falling apart, more nightmares with the dishwasher. Someone left food and dry steel chopsticks inside, five chopsticks! Why wasn't this checked during the inspection and maintenance? This apartment was on the market two month ago and until the move in, but it wasn't cleaned or maintained properly. It is totally unlivable for anyone. I am really concerned about Health and Safety here. I don't like to complain, but I don't know what to do and I am afraid to tell the office. I feel I can only write here, no one tries to talk to me and find a solution. If someone can tell me what I can do it would be helpful.

Google
This is the place where you can find all the best Asian condiments. When I am feeling hungry, I just drop by the restaurant and take home a 2-item meal of my choice. The wet market section is amazing. I bought Lobsters and Crabs and Jumbro shrimps and made a homemade Seafood Medley which my family loved so much. First I steamed all the Lobsters, Crabs and Shrimps in a large steamer and then stir fried some garlic to crispy golden brown perfection. And then melted butter and poured all these seafoods and mixed them all together for a sumptuous feast.

Good place to shop for asian food. Nice varieties. The other shops wasn't open, we was there early. Will be back to this place when we come back to visit the family.

Google
I wish there’s a 99 Ranch Market like this one near us. Loved their hot food section. You can get such a large selections of noodles, rice, veggies and meats that’s tasty and cheaply to go or eat in. I liked the rice noodles, stirred eggplant and orange chicken combo. Currently they have fresh dungarees crabs on sale for $4.99 a pound, what a good deal.

Google
Great selection of everything. Store does smell very strongly of fish, but it’s because they have and sell A LOT of varieties of every kind of seafood. Don’t be dissuaded by the smell. If you want a specific kind of seafood, you’ll likely find it here. Also has several restaurants and small shops inside, along with a sprawling selection of international foods. Fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy, frozen, bakery, etc etc etc. You could survive the end of the world in here. The only drawback is the parking. Really small parking lot for such a large store and the spots are TIGHT.

Yelp
***This review is for restroom use only*** It was late Saturday evening. My daughters and I had left the La Jolla area. On our way back to the resort, we were looking for a store or restaurant with a restroom that was still open at the time. We found this 99 Ranch Market. Luckily, it was still open. It was near closing time though. There weren't a lot of people. We quickly walked in, used the women's room, and walked out. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. We did walk around the store for a little bit just to see what they have. They pretty much have the standard meat, seafood, and produce sections. I love their frozen fish balls... perfect for hot pot! I find it interesting that this 99 Ranch sells flowers. I don't recall any other 99 Ranch that I've been to sells flowers. Anyway, I didn't buy anything since we were leaving town the next day. Thank you 99 Ranch for the use of your facilities! We'll offer our support and patronage the next time we're in your area. Btw, they share the space with various shops. Wushiland (aka Oo Tea) is one of them!

Yelp
I love coming here to get my Asian groceries! The fruits and veggies are always super fresh. There's also a lot of variety. They have a nice seafood section at the back of the store, and what's great is that it doesn't stink up the whole store (like some of the other Asian markets). They have a deli that sells hot food and bakery. I've tried it on more than one occasion and it's pretty good and very reasonably priced. The market is clean and always well stocked.

Yelp
Cheapest chicken in san diego, want to grill out thighs, drummets, or breasts? Boom 2.29-2.39 i believe per lb and all cleaned so you get that good old American disillusionment for about $7 a pack. They don't do their old half-off close-out deal at the old chinese take out cafeteria they used to, but still a good scrape to come by and they load up. Service with a smile? Maybe, maybe not, but they can chop up a duck faster than my ex chopped up my life. If you're feeling fancy get a lb of shrimp for $5 all fried up, beats a burger in price and value by itself and you can top off a kingly meal too. Get their rewards card and you can get a whole penny back for every dollar spent cha-ching what a savings whatever would it do without it! Jk I'm not holding onto a card for that.

Yelp
This place is always busy, as it should be since they have a variety of products from fresh produce, seafood, cookware, and non-perishable imported goods. The prices here are great too, and they often have items on sale/reduced price. You've also got to love the bakery, hot foods, and restaurants that are located within this building. Speaking of the bakery, be sure to score on pastries within the display case, as they are fresh, soft, big, and tasty. Buy 5 get 1 free!

Yelp
1) I bought the box of mangoes still firm and raw. When the mangoes are ripe and ready to eat, I was disappointed that they're all rotten inside - the whole box of mangoes had to be thrown away. 2) I bought 2 taro puff pastries displayed inside the glass counter served by the store clerk. When got home I opened the package and found that these two pastries tasted so horrible - very hard and oily - must be very old. The quality of this market is so bad now that I'll not shop there again in the future. Be careful with this market !!!

Yelp
This place is twice the size of Mitsawa Market Place. It's a large Asian grocery store with a few additional stores inside; jewelry, an optometrist, and a souvenir-style store with Asian Nic-naks. There is a cafeteria style restaurant similar to the set up you'd see at Panda Bear Express with 1, 2, and 3 item plates. The food here is delicious and fresh. They have some variety (check out the picture). The wife and I each ordered one item plates. We both got noodles as our side and we really like the bok Choy here. For a side, we got their chili oil dumplings to share. Serving sizes are more than enough, we each had leftovers. The Grocery store has the same departments you'd expect at any other store; bakery, grocery, seafood, and meat. Service is great. The employees here are super nice. I am the worst with accents, but I needed help and the lady stuck with me till I understood LOL. I really appreciate that. 5 stars for their food court, selection of goods, and very nice employees.

Yelp
I love 99 ranch because it has all the asian foods I need. I like to use the mobile pick up option on the app. I haven't had any issues with picking up veggies like they give you the batch that's spoiling or anything like that. There typically isn't anyone by the pick up order section, but there's a number to call and they usually send someone over super fast! Super convenient to pick up groceries on my way home from work.

Yelp
I haven't gotten a combination to go in 99 Ranch Market in years. The pork bao is always good but shrank in size. I was disappointed with my order. I had noodles, fried chicken wings and 3 pcs of shrimps. Fried chicken was tasteless and shrimp isn't devein. I'm particular with that. I just lost my appetite.

Yelp
Quick save on Lunar New Year gift baskets on the day before NY, while I had shopped at 2 other Asian Markets closer to me a week ago with some gift baskets, I didn't want to buy them all because maybe the price range might be varied, and I was right, I came back to shop and they only have the most expensive ones left on the shelves, and I felt like they did that on purpose to make profit as they were not as big as 99 Ranch. I decided to drive to 99 Ranch and found what I needed for the right price, I didn't have to spend over $200 on gift baskets and still a bunch of them on display for others to buy, check out lines were long and crowded but it moved very fast, now I know where to go next time for Lunar NY

Yelp
Lots of choices of Chinese groceries! Price is higher than their LA stores, but San Diego didn't have much choices here. Parking is tough some times.

Yelp
I went to get some snacks and frozen wontons. It was super clean, efficient, and organized. Parking was easy, and we also saw some fun new products like White Rabbit ice cream and plum wine by Kikkoman. Great variety of products and efficient, quick checkout.

Yelp
Mid Autumn festival is celebrated on September 10 for 2022.  My family celebrates yearly.  I know the time is near when the market has stacks of fancy tins containing delicious mooncakes. This year I bought a box of Hong Kong MX Mooncakes.  They have a lovely tin this year.  My favorite variety is the white lotus seed paste ones.  I liked the mix of flavors from the mild pastry part and the sweet white lotus seed.  I wouldn't mind getting these again but I prefer the Wing Wah Mooncakes. Luckily I was also able to buy a box of Wing Wah White Lotus Seed mooncakes.  Love the mild pastry part and the sweet white lotus seed paste.  Wing Wah mooncakes are my favorite as the flavor of the white lotus seed paste taste better than any other brand I've tried.  It has a pure sweet flavor without any distractions while other brands have different flavors that I just don't like as much. Wing Wah mooncakes have been in business since 1950 and the first company to use white lotus seed paste for mooncake filling.  Go out and watch the moon and enjoy mooncakes on Saturday! Yelp
Best place for groceries shopping for all home cooking needs . It's very busy but what super market isn't.
google avatar

Yelp
The taste of roast duck is much better than before. But the cut duck place is surrounded by three high walls and customers can not see how they cut it. The worst thing is all the breasts, head, and neck disappear when you home. So do not let them cut if you buy a roast duck.

Yelp
It's very smelly I realize they have lots of fish but so do other grocery stores not so bad. Got imitation crab the kind that is in a Calif roll it was also smelly so I tossed it not suppose to have an odor. Nice bakery inside good variety of breads and such.

David F.

Yelp
Be careful with 99 Ranch Market price advertising, it's kind of misleading on purpose A package of fishball is marked as $5.99/LB, but it's actually $11.98 as the package is 2 LB, as other packages are all marked as per package price

Ping L.

Yelp
I bought one box of chicken feet deli on March 21st. The label says sell by 03/24/2024. I thought it's fine. When I get home open it. It's all moldy. Look at the white dot. So bad. Nowadays the cooperation is getting worse and worse. I wasted my $6.20. Never back to 99 Ranch again. I swear.

Herman W.

Yelp
One of the worst and dishonest supermarkets. Don't shop at a Chinese supermarket unless you have something that is absolutely essential ingredient. Asked for live tilapia twice, and twice they'll net a dead tilapia from the fish tank. And this time the dead fish is starting to rot. Make sure you inspect the fish, and make sure the fish is actually moving in the net. With a dead fish, they will still use the mallet and hammer it to pretend it was alive. So make sure your fish is moving before they "kill" it.

Yelp
I got sesame balls today, and MAN they go so cheap on making this. Look at this bean filling, almost nothing. I came from the Bay Area, and they don't scammed you like this. So disappointed.

Yelp
One of my go-to grocery store for Asian vegetable, fruit, and food. One has to go early mornings on the weekends to find a parking spot, and get away from crowds. I like to come here because it has a large variety. Vegetable and fruit are fresh if one go when the workers are re-stocking. It is usually Friday around 6-7pm, weekend mornings around 9:30AM, 1PM, and early evenings.

Osvaldo M.

Yelp
This review is directed to the parking lot, rear of store where they recive their shipments. The truck that delivers the fish leaves all that dirty fish poop on the road. I drove by it and now my car smells horrible. They should not allow this to happen, they should be investigated by the health department.

Yelp
Not a bad 99 Ranch, definitely a bit smaller than some of the other SoCal locations that I've been to, especially the parking lot which was super busy on a Saturday afternoon (shared business plaza) and compact parking, but you can probably find a spot in the back. Definitely much more lively and cleaner than say the Rowland Heights or Hacienda Heights location with the OO Tea (Wushiland Boba) and other restaurants. LOVED that they had wheel cake there, though a bit sad that they didn't have mung bean (maybe too Vietnamese of a flavor). Either way it's an alright place to go!

Yelp
Nice selection of food! Good fish selection and ofc ramen. And last, but not least, lo mein in the cafe is to die for!
google avatar

Shauna G.

Yelp
This place was big and the parking was easy as it's in a huge center and isn't really close to anything else so there was an abundance of parking. The pastries near the bakery was what caught our eyes first, almost like an 85° cafe. The worker there was very slow to get a hold of and seemed to be the employee around, so it was a lot of standing around and waiting. We purchased dozens of pastries plus ordered a strawberry cream cake for our daughter's birthday. I have higher hopes for the freshly made cake (took 45 minutes to pick up) as the few pastries we got were super dry, nothing compared to 85° so far. Walked out with a few other items, but nothing I was really, truly looking for.

Yelp
Fresh and affordable chinese broccoli, bok choy and homemade tofu. Best place for Asian cuisine shopping.

Yelp
great stores.. but the free newspaper guy was being rude to the customers. he is absolutely crazy and shouldn't be at this great location or at any ranch99 location.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place that have great deals on food, drinks, wine, and beer. I love there small and medium sized selection they have, plus the variety they have of noodles and different size bags of rice they have are great for what I am looking for. I love how every time I go there they have full Shelves and their aisles. I love the selection of wine plus I like there plum wine very sweet and delicious. There staff are very helpful and they will show you what you are trying to find and where something is in the store.
google avatar

Jiayu L.

Yelp
One of their Cashiers, I assume she speaks Vietnamese. Her first name is Dang, very rude, literally yelled at me for no reason when I was asking my receipt and she did that in front of a long checkout line. I felt like I did something wrong because doing groceries here. Worst experience ever. 0 star service, 5 star for the products.
google avatar

Yelp
Went here after a TikTok showed a great looking Asian burrito called run bing at 99 ranch somewhere in SoCal. The employees had NO idea what I was talking about. The language barrier was impossible so I showed a video and still no clue. The bad fish smell didn't help either. disinterred customer service vibe, means I will be going to different market nearby.
google avatar

Vanessa L.

Yelp
This might be my favorite 99 ranch location. I went in the morning and everything was stocked and bakery was putting out more fresh items. Their baked pork buns were delicious! It's hard to find a good bun and they were super affordable. Pack of 10 for 11.99. The hot food line was packed. They must have good food because that's the first time I've seen any 99 ranch hot food area with a long line. They also have another food place and boba spot inside the building. This location has a nice variety of food and snacks.

Yelp
I was craving fried fish and came in to check out this location. As you enter, the market portion is to your left. There's a nice bakery and ready to go food sections upon entry. The seafood section is large, clean and well run. The fresh grocery section is great with a huge selections of fruits, vegetables, herbs and roots. Everything you need for Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and Filipino food, they have! Not the biggest selection of Japanese items. I found everything I needed and got my fresh fish to fry at home. Everything was fresh and tasty. I'll definitely be coming to this Ranch 99 Market regularly. Everyone I interacted with was very pleasant and helpful.

Yelp
My wife bought a meal with lowmein , ck brocoli and fried ck wings But they only gave us 3 pcs of ck wings and like 8 pcs of broccoli and i dont see any ck with the broccoli that supposed to have ck on it The lowmein takes like the food is from yesterday waste My recommendation is not buy those food please they use rice and meats from yesterday that they didn't sell out i was a kitchen chef believe 真tm垃圾

Yelp
Valentine's Day is perfect for lobsters, and 99 Ranch Market did not disappoint. We ordered two lobsters, which were perfectly steamed, and enjoyed them for our traditional S. Valentino dinner at home. Great seafood selection. Very happy to see the live blue claw crabs, which we will turn into delicious Jersey Shore crab sauce!

Yelp
San Diego lacks competition to get asian groceries. Their meats are really a hit or miss, they don't last as long as if you get the same kind of meats at western grocery stores. You need to cook them asap or risk them going bad. I prefer asian vegetables and unfortunately there's not much options in western grocery stores so I have to settle getting them here. Also any asian speciality drinks, this is where you have to get it. Parking can be a hot mess but if you go during non peak hours, it's acceptable. For people like myself that like whole fish to bring home, only asian stores really offer it. Western grocery stores are typically all filleted. As someone who loves noodles of various kinds, this is where you need to go to get them.
google avatar

Ariele L.

Yelp
Of all the 99 Ranch markets in San Diego this location is my favorite! Their surrounding food court is also the best. I was able to find all my favorite life soy products in their tofu section. The surrounding food court has a Vietnamese vendor that makes various banh and since it's in season fresh cut jackfruit.

Yelp
OMG! This place is AMAZING! From someone who grew up with the average American grocery store, this place is like having a travel experience without leaving your own city! There are ginormous fish tanks with live Dungeness crabs and lobsters and other sea creatures - talk about fresh! There are also guys lined up ready to butcher the fish of your choice in a variety of ways - no fillets only (they have those in other areas and a waste of a perfectly good fish!). I was thrilled to see a variety of fish collars and salmon heads for sale - the best and most delectable part of the fish; give it a try! The only downside was that most of the fish didn't appear super fresh. There was a distinct fishy smell and the eyes weren't clear - definite signs of the seafood on display being older. Maybe it was the time of day (late afternoon)? Let's hope so! I also had a bite to eat in the "cafe" - such a variety! So happy they had my favorite - Mapo Tofu - and, wow, the kick! The lady helping me was a little abrupt and less than pleased to help me figure out the items available since I asked for one that had a label but it wasn't out there. I didn't care for her attitude. The self-service poultry section had whole ducks - wow! But the chicken parts were mainly boneless and skinless - huh? I was confused. And chicken wings without the drummette - why? Where did it go? It's another confusing thing. But they did offer duck wings - flats only; my husband will enjoy giving them a try! The vegetables and fruit section was AMAZING! I lost my mind! What is Chinese cauliflower? I hope I like it better than the regular stuff! And red spinach! We make it with bacon and onions and the onions turn pink! And golden dragonfruit? Can't wait to try it! But, please, someone find and kill that open durian! This is a cool starter place for an introduction to Taiwanese food and to find some of the goodies you already know.

Yelp
We came late Wednesday night, and I got a box of Choco-Pies to bring to a class snack potluck. The Asian snack selection is always good. My total was about $4.50. I did self checkout, and there were cashiers watching and helping as needed.

Zzz L.

Yelp
I like the market and the stuff in it, but just DON'T EAT the fast food restaurant that's nearby. They have very bad service and if you don't order much, they don't let you eat inside. They'll just tell you to eat outside even if you already started eating. I think you should trade the customers all equally, but overall, the ambiance(in the market) are good.

Loretta G.

Yelp
I have shopped here for many years and have seen MANY positive changes! I wish the FISH smell was not so strong though! I come for beef but all I can smell is FISH! My husband thinks the air filtration system needs work. The selection in product is VARIED and I always find what I need. It is helpful that they do not move the product around the aisles every week like places like VONS and RALPHS. The cashiers are usually quiet but are very nice and I LOVE the freebies they give out sometimes! Last time I shopped here I got free light bulb! THANK YOU 99 Ranch!

Nancy H.

Yelp
I have been coming to this store since it first opened and i appreciate there is an Asian Market so accessible to me and i will continue to shop here. My complaint is regarding their customer service. Whenever i have a question about a product, 95% of the time they will just say "i don't know" or "no". Sometimes i would even show them a photo of what i want and they don't bother looking at it because it's easier to say "no". I understand some employees are not fluent in their english, but this complaint pertains to the ones who do understand.

Yelp
Is it 99 Ranch or Ranch 99? I personally like to call it Ranch 99 and thats my personally preference and I still dont know why to this day. This store is located off of Clairemont Mesa and parking can be tight. They have parking in the front of the store as well as a back entrance with parking as well with other stores and shops in the back. The store has your typical Asian grocery supplies with a added food court where you can splurge on your Boba milk teas, sugar cane drink, or even Chinese BBQ. They also have a lady making fresh to order custards in the front for sell. The store has a beloved bakeshop selling your fresh baked breads and cakes as well as a cafeteria line set up selling some of the best Asian cuisines you could ask for. They sell whole roasted ducks or you can get them by the half as well as roasted crispy skin pork you can view through the window. They have lots of BBQ pork buns and dumplings as well and even have pre prepared meals. They have a live seafood section where you can get the catch of they day and have it cleaned your style and even cooked for you on the spot. The snack section is my personal favorite where they sell different kit kat bars imported from Japan where you cant find else where along with cookies and chips. The instant noodle selection is phenomenal where you can choose any kind of noodle from around the world. The fresh fruit and veggie section cant be beat with numerous kinds of vegetables used in Asian every day cooking and nice plump juicy fruit. They have your typical meat selection with sliced meats for your upcoming KBBQ or hotpot at your house as well. My only complaint are the aisles are smaller than average and the place feels like a tight fitting where its hard to maneuver your shopping cart while shopping. I feel you are constantly moving for others to get around you and that shouldn't be right but yet a comfortable shopping experience. Great store for all your Asian needs with sales weekly with a awesome food court where you can get your boba fixings, sugar cane drink with some freshly made banh mi sandwiches or even Chinese BBQ. Please dont forget to get the reward card where if you spend $1k in shopping you will get a $10 discount on your next shopping experience. Overall nice shopping place if your into crowdedness shopping and tight spaces.

Yelp
Food quality was going down, down and more down. Your preserved fruits imported from Taiwan tastes like made from weed. Your precooked food was not fresh. I threw away many of your food away, because the quality is BAD. If I have a choice, I will go to another market.
google avatar

Tammy N.

Yelp
Been going here since I was a kid and it hasn't changed much besides OO Tea opening up here. Probably my favorite milk tea. The veggies section is always kept pretty neat and clean but there is this one particular part of the fruit area that is always horrible. I find that this one corner where they always put the "best value" fruit on sale is always not well kept. Customers always take it upon themselves to sample the fruit and make a mess there. And it isn't maintained at all. Besides that little messy area, I love everything about this market. The red bean and custard pancakes are the best but the price has raised a lot throughout the years. They have the best snack section, and I also love their to-go food.

Yelp
Good store with a large selection of Asian goods, reasonable prices and convenient parking

Yelp
On the smaller side from other 99 Ranch Markets I have been to. I like coming here when they have some good sales on veggies and fruits. I have gotten some pretty good meat for a reasonable price here! Can get a bit crowded and lines can be long.

Yelp
Just another one of those asian stores my mom drags me to. I usually come here fo get roast duck at Sam woo, or milk tea from OOTEA, or even a sandwhich from the little sandwhich shop when you first enter. They also sell sugar cane drinks! Ranch 99 itself, great deal on veggies and fruits. The fish and meat department smelled SOOOO bad though so I'm not sure how great their meat is here. Usually at other markets, I can stand the smell but this place have me covering my nose. Parking lot in the front sucks REAL bad. You'll be able to find a parking in the back. Overall this isn't my #1 asian grocery store I'd pick but they do have the necessity for asian cooking.

Yelp
Very good Chinese supermarket. Good size, good prices and nice bakery and fresh cuisine options

Yelp
99 Ranch Probably the go to Chinese Asian Grocery Store in each city that they reside in. If you can't find that asian item in here you are not going to get it. Great selection of asian snacks, fresh seafood, meats, sauces, canned items and the best thing is there is a Sam Woo's Chinese BBQ Restaurant here. Could be a little cleaner and some of the workers could be a nicer.

Yelp
I noticed that the products they were selling, lots of them have passed the expiration dates!! I had told some of the workers before. Today (6/6/23), I bought a bag of Organic roasted chestnuts, not realized until I got home, I was not happy about the expiration date was Jan 02,2023, total of 5 months expired!! This store is located in Skyline, Daly City!!

Yelp
I like coming to this 99 Ranch Market location for the selection of their groceries and hot food. They can be a bit crowded but they have been doing a pretty good job monitoring the number of people slower in the store during the pandemic. I like the dim sum and hot food selection in their in store take out place. Sam Woo is the other restaurant there and their food is very good. Sam Woo's menu has more selection but can take a little longer.
