A Haven for Asian Food Lovers! 99 Ranch Market in Westbury is a gem for anyone who loves Asian cuisine or misses their favorite Asian staples. The variety of fresh produce, snacks, and imported goods is amazing—you’ll find everything from Chinese eggplants to golden pears and even specialty items you wouldn’t expect. One highlight is their small food court area. I tried the Vietnamese food there, and it was absolutely delicious—authentic flavors that brought me straight back to Vietnam. This place is truly a haven, not just for Asians but for anyone who enjoys exploring diverse, flavorful food options. Highly recommend checking it out!

Calling on "ALL" Asians!!!! This store is FOR YOU😜👍 actually really for everyone..... LOL🤣 Instead of 99 Ranch Market should be called MILLENNIAL MARKET for being so ORGANIZED, the wave of the future. Every aisle shelf was stacked nicely and neatly. Nothing looked like an ALL AMERICAN SUPERMARKET displaced and unorganized with bruised fruit, brown or fatty meats under dark lighting or HARD STIFF SEAFOOD. 99 RANCH MARKET "PRODUCE, MEATS AND SEAFOOD PRESENTATION LOOKED SPOT ON FRESH!🙋Great clear lighting over the food. Bright deep reds in the meat, spotless fish and lobster tanks with fish over ice, live blue crab for starters. Produce, fruits looked bruised free, no browning in vegetables. Pricing is a bit on the high side but look at the quality you get. I think it is a no brainer ; if you're looking for FRESH this should be your ONLY STOP. FOOD COURT in the store is very inviting, as well plenty of seating. The bakery is well presented with a variety of desserts and cakes. Plenty of parking in a large lot, and check it out, a "DIAMOND IN THE CUFF" Nassau County Police department right next door. "My kind of neighbors💪😄." I gave this establishment 5 stars because in my opinion they deserve it. Large applause to Management...... Great Job!!. PS....at check out we were given a FREE BOX OF PREMIUM EGG ROLL COOKIE a 99 Ranch Market brand. 🤔 Hmmm you think this store recognizes me? The Review Guru Long Island NY

Google
Good Asian market in the area with decent selection of pantry staples, housewares, cookware, mini kitchen appliances (rice cookers, etc.), beverages, snacks, meats, seafood, and fresh produce. Store is generally organized. Prices are comparable to the other Asian markets in Nassau County. While shopping, I noticed one produce aisle had a huge puddle of liquid on the floor (with no wet floor sign warnings) and multiple staff in the same aisle not rectifying that situation. Seems like it could've caused an incident. Do like the various prepared food options for take-away. Also, love the various dining options via the attached food court (with dining area), bakery, and boba tea shop. Ample parking available in the outside lot and the parking garage via the shopping mall side.

Avoid these dim sum at the hot food bar, they dont taste fresh. Especially the shrimp balls, when you bite into it you could tell they are from couple of days ago.

Wait a minute! I frequent this area and never knew this existed. This is a HUGE food store with restaurants nestled in it. Who knew? This seems like a great place to get Asian gems you won't find in mainstream "western" stores. I discovered this place due to a Yelp event. The restaurants were good with a variety of meats, rice noodles, rolls, soups and many more tasty treats. Best of all, the vendors were friendly and smiled even with the grand crowd this event commanded. I would visit 99 Ranch again. I wish I had a cool Asian friend to treat here for some Asian cuisine they might not easly find. Until...my belly will smile

"I've visited Samanea Mall several times over the years, and it's amazing to see the changes and improvements! This time, I had the opportunity to explore 99 RANCH Supermarket, and I was impressed by the vast selection of Asian groceries. It felt like walking into a well-organized Asian market, reminiscent of those found in China, Japan, or Korea. The supermarket boasts 11 aisles, each categorized by type, including dried goods, soups, frozen food, noodles, spices, herbs, and more. I was delighted to find various Asian restaurants within the supermarket, a seafood area, produce section with fresh vegetables, and a wide range of rice varieties. The equipment section caught my attention, with grills, torches, and burners that seemed perfect for Asian-style cooking. I appreciated the variety of fruits, with affordable pricing and clear labels. The multi-lane cash registers and customer service area made checkout efficient. Samanea Mall's location is convenient, situated near Old Country Rd, with easy access from Merchants Drive. Overall, 99 RANCH Supermarket is a fantastic destination for Asian and American groceries, offering a unique shopping experience in Westbury, New York. I'm excited to return and explore more!"

Google
The best seafood prices I’ve seen in awhile and love how clean everything is showcased. Prices on other items otherwise seem to be competitive, but I love the atmosphere, the products sold and fresh Asian vegetables that are harder to find in this area. Definitely will come back for the food court. Pho and Sushi to be added to the current Chinese food and Bubble Tea store offer red. Did I forget to mention the bakeries too!!! Welcome to the area 99 Ranch market! I signed up for my rewards card. How about you? 😀👍🏻

Google
Still my favorite Chinese supermarket even though it's a half hour drive from my house in Queens and offers free parking lot. Super clean, super spacious and now the food court is up and running. In addition to food shopping, you also have the choices between Japanese, Vietnamese and Cantonese eateries. This is truly the all in one stop supermarket

Yelp
A bunch of us ran here for dinner in the food court after a movie. This review is for the food court experience. One member of our group got fried chicken tenders (pictured), another a seafood soup, another fried rice cakes, and two of us had pho. We each obtained items from different vendors. I enjoyed the pho and everyone enjoyed their items. Overall decent food court experience. I especially liked that they had a few large sinks right at the beginning of the food court for hand washing so one doesn't have to go to the bathroom to do so. Very convenient and polite vendors. Clean tables and surroundings. Will try the market in the future!

Yelp
Be sure to dress warmly when you visit, as they definitely don't skimp on the AC! This is your typical Asian grocery store, but with a fun twist, they offer hot foods, boba teas, and a small bakery where you can pick up freshly made breads and cakes. While some items may seem a bit pricey, it doesn't seem to steer customers away, as the store is always busy. You'll find plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, a great selection of ramen, ramen bowls, and even some exotic reptiles and amphibians (if you're adventurous enough to try them!). It's a vibrant, busy place with a lot of unique finds that keep people coming back.

Yelp
This grocery store is very clean and has a nice selection on fruits and veggies.I bought the most fragrant and sweetest strawberries! Even my room smelled like strawberries! There's a bakery that sells fresh breads, pastries, and cakes. I bought a loaf of the family bread and it was very soft. There's also a good court that has an assortment of restaurants. You could eat at the tables provided or take your food to go. Ordered some spring rolls to go and was very pleased with the quality!

Yelp
This is a review for the deli. I don't think they really want this to succeed. It's almost like the workers are just sabotaging it on purpose. It was 1:30 PM, and I stood at the deli for a good 5 minutes in front of the butcher, waiting to order the BBQ combo. He didn't bother to acknowledge me or call for anyone to assist me. How difficult is it to just ask for someone to come and take my order.

Yelp
We just stumbled upon this place because we were in the area! What a gem! No need to go to flushing anymore for authentic food! There's a Vietnamese restaurant, Shanghainese restaurant, roast meats restaurant and many more in the food court of ranch 99! The kids loved the soup dumplings, husband loves sushi and I prefer the roast meats over rice! The only challenge is finding seating in there. People tend to eat then leave so it's quick turnaround. But we did see a lot of people standing around waiting for seats! Other than that, we loved it.

Yelp
This is only the 2nd time I've been to this supermarket. We got super lucky at this 4.40 lbs blue lobster that was on sale for $4.99/lb. It was the only there and I couldn't believe that it was only $21.95. I figured, why not try it! Cooked it right away (boiled with onions, scallions, celery stalks, chicken powder and squeezed a whole lemon) and boiled it for 40 minutes. The lobster was sooo sweet, meaty and perfectly cooked! We got so lucky! The supermarket was clean, organized, well-stocked and has a good selection of meats, seafood, fresh veggies & fruits and lots of dry and frozen goods! I normally shop at H-Mart but I think, I'll be going to 99 Ranch from now on because it's much cheaper too! They also have restaurants, a bakery and a boba place. Might not be as close as H-Mart (Williston) but it's so worth it! I'm one very happy customer!

Yelp
99 Ranch Market is an authentic Asian market chain with multiple locations all over the United States. The supermarket has imported specialty foods plus meat, seafood, produce & baked goods. This location is in Samanea New York Mall (same complex as Dave and Busters and Cheesecake Factory) and there is a large parking lot. There are weekly store specials. We got gailan (produce) for $1.28/lb and a bottle of aloe vera for $2.00 (saved $1.49). Each of the aisles are very organized. There is a great selection of products. We passed by a staff member talking about a promo on Vitasoy Soy Drinks. If you purchase 1 pack, you get a PopSocket. Inside, there is also a food court with a seating area. The food court had well known restaurants like Pho Grand and Shanghai You Garden which have multiple locations as well. It is great to have 99 Ranch Market in the area.

Yelp
I recently attended a hosted event to try out every one of the food court restaurants. I have to say, I am very impressed with the selection as well as the quality. Starting at the "deli" which carry your traditional bbq selections as well as hot food. You will not be disappointed. The food is not only hot but fresh. Great selection and great price. No need to run to the city for your Chinese bbq selections. Then I got the Vietnamese restaurant. Spot on with flavors and taste. Sandwiches are amazing and the whole selection presented was spectacular. Next door was the Shanghai soup dumplings. Having eaten at their restaurants in queens, I can say there was no difference. The Peking duck was perfect. Next was the pickled cabbage fish. Don't make a face until you tried it. They have a spicy version and a pickled cabbage version. Just the right amount of sour w spice. Lots of vegetables. Lastly they had Japanese. Again, I have eaten at their restaurant in queens and they have some good talent working here. Rolls are not overly packed with rice and the fish was good. Didn't get to try their hot pot but I'm sure they deliver flavor in their broth. The staff managed the flood of people with ease so don't worry about wait or lines. Each has an order ahead capability and you can find them on all your apps. This is a supermarket so the ambience is acceptable. Clean tables and a very clean bathroom. Those are big plus for me. Sorry, no pictures of the food as I ate everything too quick. I feel it's so important to support these vendors. They make really good food. Lastly don't forget the CoCo for a bubble drink.

Yelp
99 ranch market is a unique supermarket experience with a diverse food court. They offer very generous portions and the staff is very happy to be of service. Their excitement brings a joyful atmosphere to the mundane shopping experience. I didn't love that I couldn't customize the amount of sugar content to my bubble tea but other than that, the food was fresh and I had a pleasant experience overall.

Yelp
My favorite part of this branch is the food court. Its clean, minimal wait, with enough seating. The vietnamese stall has become our favorite. Flavor is spot on, consistent & comes fresh & hot. You can get your own sauces & condiments which i like. We tried the Chinese here too. It was okey, a little oily & i found the serving less compared to other Chinese spot in their NJ branch. The sushi place looks good too. We will try next time.

Yelp
We were waiting for Kpot and decided to check out 99 Ranch. It's a great supermarket! They had many unique products not seen in other Asian markets and great prices. There's also a food court and bakery with delicious looking items. I was surprised to see all the Lunar New Year decorations, red envelopes and candies/treats they had for sale, like the little shops in Flushing. I bought this cute fish decoration.

Irene L.

Yelp
99 ranch is very clean and spacious. It also has a food court, pho grand, sushi spot that sells party trays, and a Cantonese stall that sells duck char siu. Pho is around $14 a bowl. They also have Coco - bubble tea spot. Drinks were about $7 before tax. The prices here are a bit higher than Queens supermarkets including h mart. They also have a clean bathroom by the food court area.

Andrew G.

Yelp
Love 99 Ranch Market. What an amazing Asian market. Their variety of all sorts of Asian imported products is outstanding. Their prices are fantastic as well. Love their seafood section especially. Their food court is quite eclectic with a delicious assortment of Asian Cuisines. Love this place.

Mayuka K.

Yelp
When this place is crowded, the parking is awful. We were waiting for a parking and people kept cutting the line to park. They need to be more polite to each other. I would recommend you to go this place during the weekend. Don't go on the weekend, otherwise you'll feel disappointed.

Tsz-Cheong C.

Yelp
Great Asian supermarket but not without flaws. On a positive first note there is ample parking in the lot. Actually, if people know how to park within the lines we can actually have a few more spots. The prices are pretty comparable to supermarkets in Flushing and Long Island. Like anything else, there are some items that are more expensive and some less and with 45,000 square feet of space take your time going up and down the aisles. The quality of the vegetables and produce is really fresh. I noticed the ramen section is light on variety and there is no butcher counter where you can pick and choose your cuts, the meats are prepackaged in the back. The fresh seafood section on ice and fresh water tanks are well stocked with fish and crustaceans. They do excel in drink and snack selections. You can find Irvins salted egg chips here for sale which is comparable to purchasing them online. If you fancy the Asian variety junk food and beverages, they got you covered here. There is a food court with hot food and barbecued meats, ducks and chicken that I did not try. To be honest the ducks and chicken on display looked a little dry from my perspective. I usually see the meats glistening with the drippings from the fat into a pan which was not the case here. A Pho and sushi place is opening soon. The existing bakery has a nice selection of cakes, pastries and breads. Since they opened recently you have to give them time to figure out the dynamics of what works best for them and the customers. There is big potential for this place to be a great Asian supermarket in the Long Island area for years to come.

Rich W.

Yelp
Much anticipated Asian supermarket comes to Long Island! I visited a week after the opening so all the crowds are gone. The space is large. Some of the food Court area is still under construction. There is a nice bakery and a boba tea place at the entrance. Presently many products are at a discount so go quick before the price returns to normal. Is this supermarket any different from all the other Asian supermarkets that exist in Queens? Not really, but there are some new stuff to try. Parking lot is small and the roadway is poorly maintained; the mall landlord need to take more maintenance care. If in the area I'll visit but since I'm from Queens I have other options. I did eat in their "Deli" food court; ordering food was a challenge because of communications barriers.

Amelia L.

Yelp
This Asian supermarket chain is well known in California but have locations all over the US. Their newest location in Westbury, Long Island is their 57th store and their first store in New York. Today's grand opening enticed many shoppers to come and it was a bit chaotic. The store is quite large but it filled up quickly and lines started forming shortly after the doors opened. We lined up pretty early to watch the ribbon cutting ceremony and to be one of the first to get in. We were really hungry so we made a beeline to the hot food section first. They offered dim sum items, plate specials and even roasted meats. There are tables to the left of the store where you can sit and eat. Afterwards, we went around the store and shopped for a bit. We didn't stay long because at this point the store was quite crowded and lines to the registers were packed. The few items we bought (drinks, snacks and frozen items) were marked well. I would say the prices were slightly lower than my local grocery store. I wish I could have stayed longer to peruse the all the aisles but it was just so crowded. I difinitely plan on coming back after the hype calms down.

Cher Y.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Today is their soft opening. I was literally the first customer at the door. Lol! Simply because it was my favorite store back in my East Bay Area days. There are still a few areas empty such as sushi, Pho Grand, Shanghai You Garden, CoCo. Prices are decent for all fresh seafood and produce (Super FL might be more aggressive on prices of many items as well as grocery varieties for now. However, Super FL's customer service is terrible at meat Dept, seafood Dept and some cashiers). Staff are all soft spoken (carrying Taiwanese courtesy well so far. Lol). 4 stars for the customer service here. Each parking space is on small side. Not too SUV friendly:)))

Lourdes M.

Yelp
Passed by here after work today. Wrong decision. Wrong decision in a way that I rushed myself in browsing the store on my first visit. I should have put more time because there is so much to see here and after work is not a good idea. I definitely coming back on a weekend. During this short visit, I enjoyed all that it is offering. It is the biggest Asian supermarket in NY that Id been to. Each section is neatly organized, labelled and has full stocks. The prices are comparable to Flushing stores. A great addition to Long Island Asian establishments. It recently just open and there are so many still other things that is possibly going to be added. I cannot wait to see more of these services in the future eg the food court. See you soon for longer visit.

Eve K.

Yelp
This is a much better supermarket than the ones I usually I go to in Flushing, Elmhurst. They have a lot of varieties of grocery, vegetables, meats are fresh. The shelves are neat and organized. Moderate size parking log, big selection for fresh seafood. Prices are little bit more than the supermarkets in Queens, but for freshness, I would rather pay a little more. The biggest plus is they have a sink right outside the restroom for people to wash their hand. They also have a food court which is very convenient and the food is pretty decent.

Winny L.

Yelp
Came here after dinner for shopping while in the area... Huge shared free parking lot. A welcomed addition for another Asian super market in the area. Avoided coming during grand opening weekend and first couple of months until crowds died down a bit to normalcy. Plenty of fresh foods, fruits, vegetables, seafood etc. It has many of the items other Asian markets have and convenient if not able to go to Chinatown in other locations. Prices are comparable - some higher, same, or lower. There is also hot food and a bakery inside so check it out. Check out was pretty quick when I was there luckily with no wait. If you download the 99 Ranch Market app, they have promo at times...limited promo just ended for $15 off $50 or more order...Have to check for other offers. Weekly specials and circulars as well.

Tracy D.

Yelp
Nice to see another Asian market opening in the area. What 99 Ranch got in comparison to its other competitors in the area (Super FL Mart, HMart) is a great variety in different Asian products. They have a bunch of products that I didn't even seen at some of their competitors. They have on the exterior part of the store a bakery, bubble tea spot and hot deli that has hot food to go. There is also a grab and go section next to the customer service desk. Parking is easy since it's located at a mall center. Their grand opening was very crowded, but I think the crowd should be less now that some time has passed. There was some confusion during the grand opening where lines started and ended, but that problem should be resolved now.

Tanya K.

Yelp
If you want a spacious, no anxiety-inducing crowds at Asian super market (that you'll normally don't get in Queens) this place is for you. They have a large parking lot outside, the aisles are VERY spaced apart, and many cashier lanes. They have a good selection of produce and non-perishables, but some prices are a bit marked up compared to Flushing/Elmhurst area (but again no crowds). There's a bakery section that sells dessert/savory breads, cakes, and egg tarts. The dessert breads go for about $2.50 to $3, cake rolls are about $10. They even had a giant Dan tat (egg tart). I went pretty late on a weekend and they had an sale for the breads of buy 3 get 1 free. Outside the grocery section, I saw a hot food station (empty late at night, but had pre package sets of what was probably left over for the day at a reduced price), pho spot, sushi spot, and the flushing hot spot Shang hai you garden (soup dumpling) coming soon!

Gaile F.

Yelp
Honestly we love shopping here because all the things we need is in here but the customer service is very poor it's the morning and there's barely anyone shopping today. There are two cashiers and I went to the one I usually see in the counter and I can tell that she hates her job because she's not polite no smile and not careful, right after she's done scanning and after we paid she left when we weren't even done packing our groceries. If we're going to to spend money in your store we at least deserve a little smile

Jihye B.

Yelp
I'm honestly so disappointed. I went today to avoid the opening weekend rush. Obviously, there's still a lot of people here because it is very new, but I thought the staff did a good job stocking and keeping shelves stocked. The produce is a hit-or-miss. Some of the stuff looked very fresh. A lot of things you can't find at regular grocery stores. Unfortunately, some of the produce didn't look so hot and they were not that cheap. The meat section also has a lot of variety, but the quality looks so poor. Seafood looked good for the most part. If you compare 99 Ranch to HMart, 99 Ranch is definitely more skewed towards Chinese grocery. They have a decent selection from Korea and Japan, as well as other East and Southeast Asian countries. But for prices on non-Chinese goods, I would say Hmart is on par or even better. For Chinese items, 99 Ranch has more variety and slightly better prices, I think. Of course, I came to 99 Ranch not only for the groceries but for the promise of to-go food. They only have the hot buffet bar open currently, but I saw there are plans for pho and some indoor seating too. The dimsum and lunch buffet bar are, again, a little disappointing compared to what you can get 20 minutes away in Flushing. There are places on Long Island where you can get food that is similar or better for that price. It's a nice place to stop by after shopping, but not good enough to seek out. Maybe it'll be nicer once CoCo moves in and they get their system down right. I think I was fantasizing too much about west-coast level freshness and prices. This is New York, after all.

Caroline N.

Yelp
Reason for 3*: I'm keeping this neutral and have to go again for a real experience. Yesterday was the grand opening of 99 Ranch, the first location in NY specifically in Westbury, LI. We got there around 8:10 so I can watch the lion dancing at 8:30. The first 100 gets a swag bag voucher (1 per family). If you buy more than $50, you get a free gift (sunflower seeds). If you follow their social media and sign up for a rewards card, you get a beanie (hat). Parking: the former Source Mall parking didn't have wide spots, so be aware of your neighbor otherwise you might have a few scratches and dings. It's a small parking lot if you want to park close otherwise park in the parking structure it would be less of a headache. Shopping Carts: the store ran out of shopping carts since everyone was using them. Other customers had to follow someone who was leaving to get one. Entrance: once the ceremony was done, there was no organization to welcome the customers. The folks on the line was trying to get in, while the folks who came later just rush in and not realizing that the store passed out the vouchers earlier in the day. The table placement to sign up for the rewards card was horrible which is by the entrance and caused a traffic jam. Customers were trying to fill out paper forms or electronically and the keyboard keeps disappearing. Produce: there are plenty of produce and fruit choices though I didn't stay there long since every inch was filled. I just wanted to get away from the area in order to move freely. Meat, Seafood Sections have fresh and frozen items. Frozen items were in the center in front of the meat, seafood sections. They definitely have a lot of frozen hot pot items which is awesome. Sauces: all I can remember is 1 aisle filled with different types of sauces! Restaurants/Ready to eat food: is to the left of the entrance. Even though it's in the supermarket, it is by the wall. It didn't look like they were ready for business. The menu wasn't list and some place wasn't open yet. If you need to go to the restroom, you need go to this section. If you are coming in from the mall, you have to go to through the turnstile. Checkout: some lanes are faster than others. Not sure of its because they had someone to help you pack your groceries. Other lanes were so slow that you wonder if it's faster to stay there or move to another lane. It is great to have this option though I will wait for the hype to lessen before trying again.

Sam E.

Yelp
A tentative 3 stars for now, because I do think this place has potential! As everyone mentioned, parking is a bit of a problem. Such a small lot for such a big store, does come with its own set of issues. The store itself, is massive! There's CoCo Bubble Tea, bakery, hot food, seafood, etc. However, even during this time, some of the hot food areas were closed (I'm assuming later in the year they will be open). There is quite a selection of goods and groceries to purchase in the aisles. But if I am completely honest, I do feel like HMart (a few minutes away) has more of a selection overall. If you happen to be in the Roosevelt Field Mall area and are in need of an Asian market, look no further! But for now, if you're coming from the east, you may be better off sticking with HMart for now.

Bonnie N.

Yelp
This is my go to place for all Asian groceries and it has everything I need at a great price. From bok choy, to green onions (better priced than the American grocery stores), tofu, pho ingredients, pork spare ribs, dumpling wraps, the list could go on but literally almost anything I want, they have it. I say almost because for Vietnamese coffee, my favorite is the Trung Nguyen brand but they don't have it here (they have the Cafe du Monde instead). They also don't have the condensed milk in a squeeze bottle or Three Ladies Brand jasmine rice. All my Viet people know 3 Ladies Brand is superior They have sashimi here, and the fresh meat and seafood section in the back of the store. I like to buy the whole shrimp here because it's more fresh and cheaper per pound than the rest of the places I've shopped at. One weekend it was on sale for $3.99/lb. That's actually insane when you see how much it is elsewhere. And it's fresh! They have everything you need for hotpot. Candy, snacks, sauces, all types of ramen. They've also got home and kitchen appliances and a bakery section, along with other small restaurants inside to grab food like kimbap, noodles. I saw they're opening a pho place inside soon. There's also a boba spot right by the entrance. The aisles are clean and on most days I've been here on the weekends, it's actually pretty peaceful. I notice Sunday is a busy shopping day here, and everything is in stock so Sunday is probably a restock day for them. This store's clearly my fave!

Yelp
The highlight of this supermarket is the seafood department! They clean and fry your fish as part of your all-in cost and I think the fish is super fresh. We tried the pompano and the flounder and they were delicious! Love the variety of Asian snacks; however, my parents tried the hot lunch to-go section and noted that the food didn't taste fresh. Next time I'm back I might even try the bubble tea place next to it!

Yelp
This is the second time coming here. Got some stuff for a hot pot with the help of a fellow Yelper (thanks Bonnie) everything I got was delicious and I highly recommend. When I couldn't find something one of the workers quickly helped me. I find their produce prices high but I guess everything is expensive now.

Yelp
The quality of fish and meats are 100% garbage. Most fruits are either gmo or pesticides. Nothing organic even if it's labeled. The packaged food probably better quality. Will never get my business again

Yelp
Great clean supermarket with a ton of reasonably priced Asian groceries. I like all the food court stalls and the bakery. Everything is stocked well and the seafood is very cheap and good quality.

Yelp
These are from two different places right next to each other at the food court area. One is a platter of duck, char siu, roast pork - a little gamey. The other is a buffet-style mix of lo mein, sesame chicken, flounder, and broccoli chicken - this place was TOO oily. There was so much that the oil started pooling at the bottom. Had to wipe off oil before eating.

Yelp
I have been hearing so much about this Asian supermarket so I decided to see what is the big deal about this place. Let's start with the good stuff. The place is huge with a lot of fresh vegetables and produce. The fish and meat department is big. The seafood and meat are very fresh. Huge selection of Asian groceries. They also have a mini food court area. A bakery, a hot deli with Chinese bbq meats , a Vietnamese pho spot and a sushi place. Now the bad stuff. The prices are very high. I could've drove to downtown Flushing, Queens to shop at multiple supermarkets and saved 25%. The mini food court is below average. The Hot Deli prices are high. One piece of shu mai is a $1.95 and $4.95 for 3 pieces. The Chinese bbq meats did not look fresh. The roast pork was a big piece of pork belly not a huge pig. The bakery looked good with good selection. I ordered a Vietnamese pork sandwich for $10 at the Vietnamese pho shop. While the sandwich was tasty, the sandwich was small and expensive. No one was at the sushi spot. If I needed some Asian condiments or some Asian vegetables in a pinch I would come here.

Yelp
I don't normally take fellow yelpers to task for things in a reviews, but after reading several complaints about the parking lot, I had to break my protocol. I've included a photo of the totally spacious parking lot. If this isn't enough, there as a multi story parking garage 100 yards away.

Yelp
I almost think this place is better than H Mart. I am in love. From all the fresh seafood to all the meats like duck breast, etc, I didn't want to leave. I also love that it was so clean and organized. I was able to find so many fresh vegetables and fruit. This will be my go to market from now on. I also was given coupons at check out to get a discount for the next trip AND get a cake. I'm not a dessert person, but it was tasty.

Yelp
I love this supermarket. Its filled with Asian items and everything congregated into a nice and spacious spot. I loved that there are some food stores inside like bakeries, fast food stands, and other. I loved the experience. It wasn't crowded and it offered large variety of asian choices, condiments, meat, veggies, and other. Definitely a wonderful one-stop place to shop for anything Asian : )

Yelp
So, uh, what the heck, 99 Ranch - first store in long Island and you deliver this? Okay, so for those who are not familiar, 99 Ranch has a bit of a reputation on the West coast - it's supposed to be the "premium" Chinese market...the one where you walk in and find the food that you want rather than to smell the slaughterhouse you didn't. The one where you take your non-Chinese friends and not have to feel apologetic about...no embarrassing Chinglish signs, poorly marked prices, or the piss poor sanitation. How do they pull it off? Solid management, good sanitation and great odor isolation. They usually have a food court and bakery that has decent (read: not great but good enough) wares that are okay if you are hungry and desperate for something asian. If you have been to their 2 location in Northern NJ (Hackensack and Jersey city off Rt 4 and the Newark Bay extension of the Jersey Turnpike) they are both fine establishments. So why did we get stuck with this one? Let's see - the parking lot is subpar. It's shallow, fills up quickly and does not have shopping cart returns. Eh, so where does 99 ranch expect you to put their carts after you drop off groceries so it won't turn into an evasive maneuvering course for your car? After I am done dropping off the groceries, I just shove the cart onto the grass near the Nassau county police barracks which is on one of the corners. With any luck the local cops might start sending tickets to 99 ranch and force them to install cart returns like a normal supermarket. One can only hope. Second, why didn't they put the bakery section and the hot food section in the paid area? So you line up, ring up the groceries, then push your shopping cart into the bakery so you can mingle your paid and unpaid items onto the cart, and then you get to stand on line again to paid for the breads and pastries? Oh wait. Let me go to the back and get the usual steam table 3-and-rice. Wait, why is there a massive line that reaches half-way from the back to the middle? Oh. People are lining up for hot food with their carts, and there's no eating area where you can leave the cart with the kids while you line up to order and pay (again?!), similar in operations to the Costco food courts. You figure that if it's a couple the hubby can go back to the car and drop off the groceries while the wifey can wait in the line and order the food. Whaddayamean, people waiting for spots in the parking lot are giving you dirty looks and are downright pissed that you loaded up the car and is now proceeding back into the supermarket instead of driving away? Eh, either move the bakery and hot food area in the pre-paid area (that's what they do at the T&T supermarkets in Canada, or hell, Stew Leonards nearby) so you ring everything up at the same time and eat outside (or at home). Or you create a separate eating area where you can park the cart somewhere else and not create traffic flow issues. That's what H-Mart does in Jericho or Great Neck. Whatever 99 ranch have here is terrible. As for the item selections...? It's not great. I was looking for salted mustard greens (雪裡紅) for stir-frying rice cakes (炒年糕) but I can't find them canned or fresh - the ones that I found are in small pouches at the produce section. In terms of breadth of selection it's a bit so-so - it's also pricier than H-Mart for most items like tofu, greens or sprouts. Location-wise it's exit M3 off the Meadowbrook, but considering how crowded Merchant's Concourse/Old Country Road happens to be in the heart of Nassau county, it's not really all that pleasant. Personally I would rather drive further out to Jericho for H-Mart, or down to Hempstead for V&C. At least the traffic is more manageable. So why am i putting up with a dinky parking lot/shopping cart obstacle course, weird un-necessary crowds, less selection, higher prices and dodging traffic coming out of Roosevelt fields mall? For service industries there are no such thing as a soft opening - unless you expect people to pay for goode and services using toilet paper rather than hard-earned greenbacks, get your A-game up. Either you are open and ready, or you are not. I don't think this particular 99 ranch location is ready yet.

Yelp
Quite disappointed for so many reasons. 1. Groceries are priced higher than many other Chinese supermarkets. 2. Layout of bakery, hot food, Cantonese BBQ is confusing and inconvenient. 2.1. Bakeries are divided into three mini sections: left side to the door for pastries, right side to the door for cakes and cashier, and right side to the cake section for Swiss rolls, sliced bread and egg yolk pastries. Make sure to browse them all before you pay. 2.2. Hot food and Cantonese BBQ counters are literally connected but the lady at hot food section doesn't allow me to order and pay for BBQ at the same place and at the same time. 3. Bakery trays are not labeled with Chinese name/English name/price, although each pastry has English label and price on the back, I had to flip over each pastry to see the name and only to find out it didn't indicate what the filing is. 4. Got the green tea puff and black sesame puff, both the shell and the cream are not great. 5. Hot food section didn't have a lot of selections; the combo doesn't come with soup as most other places; when I wanted to order the pork chop, the lady literally put only one piece of pork chop?!?! then picked up two three pieces of green peppers?!?! The three dishes I got are not great either. 6. The receipt says "we value your feedback, please complete our customer satisfaction survey by scanning the QR code below" and I genuinely want to help the supermarket improve, but the QR code on my receipt doesn't work?!?! [I don't really care about the chance to win gift card because I won't shop here again.]

Yelp
An OK establishment, it's located in a mall that has been long abandoned (I believe the mall is working on reviving, back then it had several stores and was more livelier). I saw so many videos and promos about this 99 ranch and well, I can't say that I'm impressed. I've had family visit this location and warned me not to get my hopes up and they were right. Clearly this place needs a bit more time, since I think the 2 food stalls (river sushi and something else) is not opened yet. The selection of groceries here are okay, but not that great or worth the travel IMO. There are many Asian markets in New York that trumps this, sorry to say. Upon arriving there was clearly a strong fishy smell, but usually Asian markets are like that. It's just I didn't expect this smell for a newly opened establishment. I admit the aisle for hot pot broth is a lot, but the ramen section is totally lacking. Again maybe with more time the market will be improved, but yeah...wasn't too impressive.

Yelp
On caliber with HMart but with a greater assortment of the Asian vegetables that I love to cook with. Which is why I am now shopping there. Also clean and tidy.

Yelp
It's a zoo here without any organization. Lots of unwanted items that aren't easy to find or the brands that I want. For the few items, such as Norwegian saba, salmon head, and garlic toasted peanuts, that I do want, it's a bargain. Other items, such as Irvin's salty egg salmon skin, is $12 for a small bag. Plus, you can spend an hour on line if you wait on aisles 8 and 9 that circle around the store unlike the other shorter lines that are straight from the shopping aisle. This is due to the lack of planning, management, and coordination for their grand opening that likely puts anyone at risk during this pandemic without social distancing. If you have time to kill, there is ample parking. If you want to preserve your sanity, wait for the mania to settle and decide then if it's worth revisiting.

Yelp
Went to the grand opening today. Just remembered I missed my opportunity to take a pic of the red and gold balloon arch at the entrance. Darn. As one would expect at a grand opening, it was madness (went in the late AM): upon arrival, shopping carts were pretty much all taken (we were able to get one after several minutes), and baskets were probably what you ended up with if you came much later and were not able to take someone's cart once they finished shopping; each aisle was more or less crowded. If you are familiar with H Mart, this grocery is very similar. There's a good selection of Oriental goods (saw the matcha green tea that I usually get, but this time in different flavors - jasmine, ginger, peppermint - unexpected but pretty cool to me). In addition to foods, there were also sundries (shampoos and hangers are a few things I recall). There is a section for dining, but it did not seem that all restaurants were ready for customers as yet (e.g., saw a sign for a Vietnamese food section coming soon). What was cool is that it looked like in one section of the grocery, you can pick out your meat/fish and have it cooked for you. There's also a baker's corner at the front with cakes being sold - will definitely check this out more when I return (I'll likely do so once all the hype dies down from this grand opening). Based on the amount you spent, there were also some giveaways prior to heading out of the grocery (check out my pumpkin desserts and folder haha). This was likely just for the grand opening day if not weekend. For Long Islanders, this Oriental spot will probably be tons more convenient than having to go to Flushing, Queens (parking lot = huge plus!), and it's also a comparable alternative to H Mart. Pretty cool that it's now on LI; I hear it's out on the west coast as well, and in Massachusetts and New Jersey. Go check it out and see how you like. :)

Yelp
99 Ranch has finally arrived in New York. For those who don't already know, they have many branches in California and seem to be building out their business here in the East Coast. I would categorize 99 Ranch as "pan-Asian" as I found small selections of items from many East Asian and Southeast Asian countries. The majority of the items would be Chinese, but the familiar variety of items. Here's a rundown of what I thought of their various sections. Their produce section was excellent. There are lots of varieties of Chinese vegetables, much more so that the Hmart in Jericho. The prices were very reasonable and there were specials to be had. The meat section didn't have as many specials. Prices are a little lower than an Hmart but not by much. I only saw one notable special which was for $5.99 flank steak. The seafood section was excellent. There was a huge variety of frozen and fresh seafood. Some are cut up and some are sold as whole fish. The seafood section was slightly larger than the meat section. The packaged goods sections, (i.e. the aisles) contained mostly popular items, not too much of the obscure stuff you'd see at groceries concentrated on one ethnic group. We were able to find stuff from Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia in the aisle. As for checkout, there were 8 checkout lanes. We went at a particularly busy time, so each line had at least 3 customers waiting to check out. At the perimeter of the supermarket, which is cordoned off from the supermarket area, there is a deli, roast meats, bakery and a customer service area. I signed up for a rewards card which pays one percent cash back when you reach $1,000 worth of purchases. They'll give you a plastic card with a bar code after you sign up. I can also see there will be a Vietnamese and a Japanese stall that is slated to open soon. When you reach the far corner of the supermarket, it exits to the interior of the Samanea Mall which contains a bunch of mall stores. I hear there will be many new restaurants and shops opening soon, a couple Asian, so it's something nice to look for. All in all, the experience was nice. I liked the cleanliness, selection, prices and surprisingly, the size of the grocery carts. Somehow, management knew that there would be crowds so they made their shopping carts small so it would be easier for their customers to maneuver in the aisles. I'm really happy 99 Ranch is now on Long Island.

Yelp
I was so stoked when I heard 99 Ranch was opening in NY, let alone Long Island. I heard really good things about this franchise. Upon arrival, this 45,000 square foot store was very spacious that I can have a field day trip here. There's a bakery where their items are super sized in comparison to the ones in Queens and NY Chinatown. They have everything except baby food. I brought a lot of frozen items and fresh vegetables that can't be found in your typical supermarket. The parking lot is huge. Like H Mart in Woodside, weekends are crazy so weekdays usually are ideal times to shop to avoid the madness.

Yelp
For a Chinese supermarket in Long Island, this place is great. Great selection of Asian groceries. The place is clean and spacious. Don't forget to check out their food court.

Yelp
I couldn't wait to check out this Asian supermarket as it's a convenient location by Costco and Target. Easy way to hit up all three spots in one session. Parking is okay early in the day but it gets crowded quick. It's clean and new inside with lots of variety and options for groceries. Most of their vegetables looked really fresh and crisp. Pricing is about the same with relation to HMart. It's like shopping at Costco - you have to know your prices in order to know if its worth it. There are some things that are worth it and others are just better elsewhere. Their selection is plentiful. What I love is the hot food options. There is Coco Bubble Tea, bakery, a hot food counter where you can get mixed platters or meat with rice, and coming soon - River Sushi and Pho. How exciting! I signed up for the free membership card which works the same as HMart. One point for every dollar and earn $10 after reaching $1,000. Paying at the cashier lane was okay but be prepared to wait into the aisles because it isn't that spacious in that area. The best was the hot food in the food court. I really enjoyed the variety. All they are missing is soup with the hot food. Had the roast pork, duck, veggies, fish, sesame chicken, noodles, pork chop - and it was all very good for supermarket food. I was also starving after perusing the aisles. This location is far for me but if I'm in the area, it's a really good option for groceries.
