Worst experience ! Drinks had no presentation just poured into glass, appetizer calamari was soggy, my steak tasted frozen reheated mashed was cold broccoli was delicious and my partners seafood trio was smothered in butter and a tasted strange! Why write about it and not complain there because it seemed useless to do so ! Obviously there’s no pride in this place. Would never go again …8 pm and place was empty should have been the sign on a Saturday. Sorry

My family and I went to the 99 tonight and had a great experience. Mia, our server, was such a pleasant and attentive waitress. She went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the service and food.

Went with 6 younger kids and 4 adults and the server was fantastic! We tried our best to keep the kid's voices down and the messy eating tidy, and she never made us feel like an inconvenience, even though I know we were given the size of our party both in numbers and stature. Thank you!

We were on a mini vacation; only place open late The bartender let us know (several times) that is was closing in an hour. I also asked for no tomatoes in my salad; they were put in. She had them pick them out at the window. It was brought over to me and I found 2 more. AFTER I FOUND them, was when I was asked if I had an allergy Cuz my allergy was of NO concern if I didn't see/hear what happened at the food pick up window. I worked in the business a long time. So very unsatisfied

It was a nice experience from the time we walked in, with a pleasant "hi welcome to the 99"..we haven't been to the 99 in a long time we decided to try it..I tried the RIBS, w/rice pilaf, the ribs were tender, the bbq sauce on the ribs was just the right amount of sweetness, not overly sauced. The rice was seasoned nicely with added veggies..snd it was served with a biscuit. our server Nick was outstanding..and yes I took a pic..

The food was great here. I had the Vermont Cheddar grilled chicken sandwich and it was delicious!

Celebrated our servers birthday with her, she was an absolute treasure. Such a friendly welcome from the hostess who seated us and all the staff was smiling and enjoying their customers. It was such a very friendly atmosphere. My husband & I enjoyed our meals and our experience.

Waitress did not know how to split a bill so each could add to our reward points. Also was rushed and then asked to leave after our dinner since she needed the table.

Went to 99 RESTAURANT in Lynnfield MA on May 29 2024 Wednesday with Mom and her group I had the Seafood Trio Filet, Shrimp, Scallops, Corn, and Rice Everything was Awesome Located at 317 Salem St Lynnfield MA

Went here with the family and enjoyed my meal, 12oz steak with loaded baked potatoe and salad. Steak was cooked perfect to med rare. Buffalo finger appetizer was good as well as I like their extra crunchy coating and spot on Buffalo sauce. Service was great and appreciated the humor of the staff during our visit. Kids and wife enjoyed their meals as well.

I already wrote a review but y'all deserve another one. Food was typical but tonight it was actually hot. Portions seemed as though they'd gotten smaller(it's everywhere). That lady Amy makes your restaurant worth coming to. Luckily we've had the pleasure of seeing her again and she is a master at her craft. Her ability to read the room and precision is astonishing. If I opened a restaurant I would recruit her in a heartbeat. Give her a raise will ya?

I was happy to finally get the meal I had been craving for a very long time after living out west I missed my favorite meal so after 4 yrs I ordered. the French Onion soup, which reminded me of dishwater. The Shrimp was not cooked and had the poop thingie still in some of the shrimp. I ordered and just undercooked. And the lettuce wedge, oh my! I never saw such a small wedge, the head of lettuce had to be so tiny. Last, I thought I ordered a combo plate because I could not make up my mind. It cost a small fortune ..... where is the good food? Hungry Grandma

I was at the bar and the bartender was loud and constantly playing with her hair. Isn't it supposed to be up? Also I saw a mouse running thru the dinning room. Thats when I left will never be back

I did return to this restaurant after the not to favorable experience that I experienced during my previous visit. First of all I'd like to thank the manager of the restaurant , he contacted me and respectively listened to me. I returned on 4/12/23 and had the best waitress, her name is Stephani. She was friendly and attentive. She made our visit a pleasant experience. Thank you, Stephani. I had heard on the radio that day, the potato skins were back. The food was delicious as usual.

Sheesh... First, the manager was sitting right there, missing what was plainly in front of him while he was obviously more interested in his brew vendor than his staff and patrons. The server was loud, brash, shrill, inappropriate. She should really be concerned with her deportment, as should the "manager." She paused halfway to the new patron, carrying the obligatory popcorn when she stopped to talk loudly to her girl friend about how she had pneumonia, as did her kids, but (cough) "don't worry because I am not contagious." She then failed in the basic 5 patron protocols (John Taffer would tear them both a new one), no proper greeting, no setups until she happened to think about it later, continued to talk loudly about her family's pneumonia, and took the order, finally. The steak came absolutely dry, charred, over-well done, virtually inedible, but, not being 'that guy' who sends it back, tried to eat it along with the overcooked sides. The server had the class to ask me to pay because it was the shift change. When the patron commented that the server surprised by not asking how the meal was. She grinned and said, "Yeah, that, too " ! The patron explained about the sorry meal and her deportment, calling it "The least pleasant dining experience in 50 years," and asked how the order had been presented to the chef. She lied to the patron saying "Well done, like you asked." The patron told the lying server that she, indeed, had been so preoccupied and self-absorbed, talking loudly about her sickness, and boasting about finally getting her mail-order BA diploma, that she had never asked the patron how the steak should be prepared. DO quit your day job, please, and please be that college graduate. Hope that works for you. You lost thousands of dollars for your employer. Absolutely egregious server, manager, establishment. This is from a loyal 35 year client to the chain. 99 in Lynnfield gets a 5 Tums award... retched wretch of a place.

YUMMM. I'm a huge fan on the nines. We ordered curb side pickup and were impressed. Friendly staff easy ordering online. Honey bbq chicken wrap is the real deal. Love this location it's hidden off the main path and chill. Bravo.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Food was okay but service was terrible. Our waiter Bradley was very rude and not attentive at all. Took him forever just to get drinks nevermind how long it took for him to bring the check after we asked for it twice. We might try here again as long as he is not waiting on us. You could tell he just didn't want to be there by his attitude. If you get him for a waiter ask for a new one.

We were recently there for drinks and apps. I couldn't help to notice how empty the place was overall. Back a few years ago, you wouldn't be able to get a seat at the bar - on this night there were plenty, lots of parking too. The beer was cold and the service at the bar was good, but the apps, that's another story. We got an order of buffalo chicken tenders. I was shocked when the lady placed them in front of us. It looked like the tenders had broken into pieces. It wasn't just one, it was like they handed us a dish of leftover chicken tender parts. My immediate thought was, how could anyone place this in front of a paying customer? I would be embarrassed and tell the kitchen this isn't acceptable. One tender was so dark, not sure why - either old oil or it was burned. Some tasted fresh while others tasted like they had been sitting around (cold and tough) but refreshed with some hot sauce. I came really close to taking a picture, thinking nobody will believe this. But, after seeing some recent reviews, I'm sure this isn't too hard to believe. This location was once a great place, they could easily get back on track. I wish them the best.

Went to the 99 today the service was so bad I order steak tips and corn and rice what I got was fries and Cole saw order onion soup had to ask for the onion she said she only had 2 hands but when you order soup it comes right out right that was one meal the second one was balsamic chicken with broccoli and fries they mess up that order too never asked if I wanted another coke very bad service and the restaurant was empty

All I can say is this is probably my last visit to this place! It's gone way downhill! Myself and my companion both immediately smelled something bad while walking in, dirty carpet perhaps?Also the tiny portions of food you get has gotten ridiculous. The menu needs an overhaul, completely boaring!!

Love the service always a good experience every time i go here Lynnfield is my favorite location of all 99 locations. Love the alcoholic beverages here on our hike night out. everyone is so nice. Love when the red sox win so my grandchildren can eat free that night

I went here for the first time last night to play Trivia with a few friends and was very happy with this establishment. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. I would like to give a special Kudos to Lisa, the bartender. She was outstanding and was very attentive and friendly, even though the bar was extremely busy. She also would check on her customers now and then to check to see if they needed anything else. Again, Kudos to Lisa, the best bartender that I had the pleasure of meeting.

I reviewed this restaurant a few months ago and want to say that once you get to know the staff it's an awesome welcoming place. The food comes out amazing because the line managers take much care in what goes out to the customers. I watch them scrutinize every dish from my bar seat. Kudos to the entire staff.

Very disappointed with our experience at this location. First the hostess was very rude and had her arms crossed while seating us at the table. Our waitress was very nice until we paid using the QR code on the receipt. Where it says pay the bill. After we paid using the QR code we were chased down by the waitress and manager about paying our bill we told them we had paid using the QR code. She replied no one ever does that. I am very disappointed and will not be going again.

Listen folks this is a chain restaurant. Its not a five star gourmet, nor is it a mom and pop shop working extra hard to get your repeat visits. It is what it is. Came here last night for night out with friends. Food was pretty good. Nothing to complain about there. The few things that knocked it down a bit for me: 1. the bathroom was a disaster! toilet paper all over the place, seats wet with who knows what. Floors sticky. Now this was the rush hour dinner time, but my goodness someone needs to go in there and check it out a few times during their rush period. 2. Waitress wasnt bad but not great either. We were there for almost 3 hours so we tipped extremely well. 3. No trivia because no other teams, this was the whole pooint of coming to this particular place. we def will be back, because the food was good. Drinks were good too.

My wife and I picked up take out twice in the past month and both times the turkey tips were excellent. We both had great portions and extra gravy for our mashed potatoes. I Both times Zackariah handled our order. It's nice to know a pleasant, friendly and professional person like Zack will be there to make sure we are happy with our order. Because of him we will continue ordering at the 99 in Lynnfield instead of other nearby restaurants. If you want to be absolutely happy with your order, " ASK FOR ZACK"!!!

I had a couple friends over this evening. After debating where to order from my friends and I decided take out from the Lynnfield 99 would be a convenient choice. I understand good/decent restaurants are always slammed on Saturday nights. After waiting on hold for 7 minutes someone answered the phone. I told them I'd like to place an order.. they told me to hold on a minute. After 14 minutes of waiting (totaling 22 minutes on the phone) I decided to call the Saugus 99 and placed my order within 2 minutes. Wasted time.. Disappointing

I have been critical of the 99's in the past because the quality of food was not good at all but over the last few visits I have seen improvement. But today was OUTSTANDING!! Rich recommend the scallops and they were a perfect 10. My daughter had the chicken sausage pasta meal 10. My wife has the steak sandwich 10. Thank you for the amazing improvement. I plan on coming back more often again. And I started coming to the Lynnfield location in 1972.

Talk about a disappointing experience ... The staff are pleasant & nice ... But definitely lost my appetite about two bites into my meal when I pulled a long hair from my food. My stomach curled. As the waitress witnessed it first hand as she had come over to check on the table. This is unacceptable & disgusting ... Wish I could say at least the appetizers were good, but those were gross as well. The manager Gordon came over to the table and was very apologetic about the entire experience and took care of the bill for us. Living right around the corner from here is convenient and a treat as we frequent here often. Hopefully today was just an off day.

I had a haddock and shrimp dish with a baked potato for 9.99 and a delicious cold beer. Can't beat the prices. The staff is excellent and accommodating. Food is great value. Will be back regularly.

I am quite disappointed with my experience. My friends and I went to get some grub and the waiter named nick tipped himself with all of our credit cards. I believe tips are supposed to be whatever amount you want but he thought it was okay to take 20% from all of us

Nicholas Guarino is the best server I've ever had at ANY restaurant!!!! For the best service here, ask for one of Nick's tables!

Place is ass service lady with white yellow hair and a purple hair tie didn't even tell us the expert grill special , didn't read us the specials , and tried to rush us out, food was bomb tho only reason for the one star lol..

This location has really gone downhill, the french onion soup was tasteless with a scab of cheese thrown on top. The boneless buffalo wings arrived cold and the nachos were burnt.

Just finished first dinner out in months. Foods way very good. Service from waiter "Nick" was exceptional.

This was usually an old standby. But today a 0 would be too high. The server wrote nothing down, tried it all by memory. It wasn't even busy at all. She forgot the gravy, milk for coffe, the butter..... Everything was cooked wrong. Way overdone. The quality here isn't what it used to be. But today was the ultimate terrible dinner out. Run, don't walk away from Lynnfield 99. Nobody cares and it shows.

The service is good, but the menu is often wrong. Many things only list half the ingredients, and weird extra ones are added. They are now putting hard boiled egg in their Caesar salad and adding carrots to others without them listed on the ingredients- very frustrating if you want to know what you're eating.

Based on three recent visits to this location: Food is good like all of their locations (I'm not a huge "chain restaurant" fan, but I'm always happy with the 99 food quality & value). Each time I visited this location, I have had my elderly mother with me. On each visit, the staff has been very helpful & kind with respect to both her limited mobility, & special food preparation requests. My visit on 7/9/2015 was no exception: everyone on staff was super friendly & helpful, & our meals were delicious.

99 is for 99 percent ambivalent about eating here. Best to do this in a narrative: I haven't been to 99's in years and had only been to the one in The Woo. The menu was pretty big -not mega like Chili's but decent. The first things I noticed were the haphazard table "setting" and DIRTY floors -like HUGE patches of black crud and detritus all over the place. I wanted to try the ribs and chicken tender combo plate. GF asked about steamed veggies. The waitress said, "We don't have steamed veggies until tomorrow... I mean we HAVE them but not today because we got a shipment of veggies today but they were all brown." Whoa. I then asked how the ribs are. She said, "I would not recommend them. A lot of people complain about them." Whoa. I asked about the fish tacos and she said that they are really good. So I got 'em and GF got the turkey tips. The tacos were good -not Baja material, of course, but yumskis in there own way. They were crispy and the lime-cilantro rice was hot (mostly likely due to nuking) but the gwauk was becoming brownish but was passable. The tacos were $9.99 -a good deal and you get three beefy-sized ones. GF's T-tips were good and had a sweet-sauce biscuit with baby carrots and slaw. GF asked for extras limes for her diet pop, and I asked for more napkins. The waitress bought the limes but never brought the nappies. If you need food on the go, 99's is OK. Just don't expect Caviar Russe NYC. Expect a blue-collar meal. Bon appetite, YELPers.

We went to the Lynnfield 99 yesterday after golf for a cold beer and a bite to eat. We got there and were told to go inside to register for contact tracing before sitting outside. No problem, good idea. We went outside where some tables and a few umbrellas were set up in the parking lot. All the tables were covered with pine needles and the vast majority of chairs contained puddles from overnight rain. Clearly no effort had been made to clear the tables or dry the chairs. We sat and waited for our waiter. Now keep in mind this place was not overwhelmed with customers! Fifteen minutes later he sauntered over and took our beer order. No mention of food and he sauntered off. I'm serious, we're talking super slo mo here. We discussed leaving but decided to see how this played out. After another ten minutes I was angry and went in the restaurant to see what the hold up was. There was no one at the check in location so I went to the bar. Our waiter was in the back by the kitchen flirting with the waitresses. When I asked him where our drinks were he moved towards the bar and I asked him to speed it up. Another 5 minutes and he came out with our drinks and told me the delay was with the bar tender and not to blame him! Anyway, we asked for check and he asked why we weren't having another drink or food. We explained that was our original intent but we no longer had the time. So really two problems here. The lazy, incompetent waiter and the fact that no effort was made by management to ensure a proper outside sitting area was available. Times are tough folks but treating customers this way is not very smart business.

This 99 has gone downhill big time...hostess,waitresses,food not a good experience anymore and I'm going back 40 years.

Great Northeast Chain Restaurant... I have stopped by for beers and food here a few times since relocating to Mass. It will always hold a special place in my heart since I watched the Celtics whip on the Lakers for the 2008 NBA Championship! YES! I am impressed with this chain for a bunch of reasons: 1. Great Bar setup with Televisions all around 2. Reasonable drink specials 3. Popcorn at the bar 4. Variety of the menu 5. Quality food at a great price. Most important of all, my blackberry doesn't get a great signal here so it is a perfect spot to grab lunch and get a way from work for a spell. ;)

Kudos to this 99. Quality of food is outstanding. Scrod was the best quality & freshness. All our food came out screaming hot. Love that! Great job to management & staff. All 99's should learn something from this location. Enjoyed our Sunday afternoon lunch.

Ninety Nine is a chain restaurant in the New England region, but the bars at all their locations somehow always have a local feel. You can tell some of these people are regulars which in itself is a compliment for a chain. This location is near my work, so went for a Friday lunch and it was just as good as the location by where I live. Consistency is everything with a chain restaurant, especially when the trend is consistent quality and good service. I had my usual steak tips and fries. They were cooked to perfection and served with cole slaw as well. We had to sit at the bar as the place was jammed at noon hour. The bartender was very busy, but also super attentive with a very friendly disposition. She was chatting and having fun with the customers, but seemed to be very efficient. If I didn't have to return to work, I am sure that staying for afternoon drinks would have been a pleasant alternative.

Got horrible food poisoning from the Nines not once, but twice. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Haven't been back since.

I've been to many 99 Restaurants around the Northeast. Bummer that Clare C. got sick....but I've never had that issue at a 99. This review is for Wednesday, August 19th, 2009 Wanted to watch the Red Sox game. Didn't enjoy the Saugus location the last time there, and didn't feel like going to Revere. So figured we'd try this one in Lynnfield. Sat in the bar. Instant service. Ordered the Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla for the app. it was excellent! Had a Sam Adams Summer Ale to go with it. Very nice! Also had a small caesar salad. Yum! For the entree. Had the Bacon & Cheese SteakBurger. Medium well. Again it was excellent. Along with fries. It was the typical experience for me at a 99. Will be back!

How has the Ltown 9s not received a review yet? This place is like my second home. Being 1 of the 2 primary drinking establishments in Lynnfield, it's a given that it'd be a success. To be honest, the food is certainly decent - buffalo wings, gold fever wings, tomato basil soup, baked scrod.. all tasty and, of course, extremely affordable. The chain changes its menu often, which can be a bummer - was sad to see the nachos go, though I believe they're back again! BUT, the atmosphere is what it's all about. It's like the Cheers of Lynnfield.. every time you go in, you're going to know several people (minimum) and at least one bartender. Rich, Tony, Steve, Bob, Dave, Shannon, the list of legends goes on.. always make you feel welcome and seem genuinely happy to see you. What can I say - it's the 9s... home away from home!

I went here a couple times with family and the food was okay. Last summer I went with some friends and ordered balsamic chicken, and got horrible food poisoning. I haven't been back since.

I eat at the 99 often. What love most is that they serve mostly traditional comfort food in a casual setting. My favorite meal is the Backyard BBQ combo. Today I was really craving my favorite meal so I stopped by the 99 in Lynnfield. It's a cold rainy day and nothing sounded better than the Backyard BBQ combo. When I was seated I was informed the menu had changed. This was a little disappointing because I feel like they just revamped their menu not too long ago. I used to love Applebee's but they changed their menu so often if I didn't stop by for a few months I hardly recognized the food. That's so annoying. To my horror I'm looking through the menu and I notice my Backyard BBQ combo is gone! The server confirmed it and I nearly walked out. My server went out of her way to see if they can still prepare the meal for me. She came back and told me the manager was going to let me try a similar meal and it was on the house since I came in expecting the combo. I was blown away by their gesture. The customer service here has always been terrific and they went above and beyond this time around. I'm going to try this and see if I like it. I just hope they don't keep trying to reinvent the wheel. Keep it simple. That's what most people love about the 99.

We actually went there for dinner. We had a couple of menu items off the $9.99 menu and they were real tasty. We ordered the sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and corn, and cajun shrimp dish. We upgraded our dinners to include the seafood chowder and for dessert, the keylime pie. It hit the spot! This 99 Restaurant is nestled in the Lynnfield community, in a real quaint spot. We'll definitely return...

I ordered take out, after 10 minutes if trying to place order because employees don't know own menu. Picked up food and charged me fir some one else's order. I got home one of the meals was wrong. The other meal ( steak tips) several of them raw. Called and spoke to manager(Ross) he apologized and offered to send me a gift card for all the problems. That is great, however he never did! I will not be returning to the 99 anymore, poor customer service!

To start, they messed up my order. Gave me buffalo wings instead of gold fever... which I wasn't gonna b*tch about it until I noticed they only filled up 1/3 of the container for the blue cheese dipping sauce. Like seriously guys... I placed an XL order... and after 3 out of the 12 wings, I'm out of blue cheese. Last time I order from this place. Also ordered their seafood chowder. Tasted alright, nothing special. Rather have Kelly's clam chowder instead. Shame on this restaurant. BOO! THUMBS DOWN!

Ordered a soda. It was flat so I told the waitress. She brought another one over. It was flat too. She said they remove the ice from the bins downstairs at night so it was causing the flat soda. Why start cleaning up? It was 10:30 pm. Ordered a margerita. It was not good. Wayyy too sour and I looked at the bartender and he was staring at me when i took a sip and couldnt help but make a face... the music was ridiculously loud and as we waited for our waitress to return from whatever she was doing finally other waitresses gathered by our table to talk and watch the tv. The blue shirt girl was singing along. Its like who does this song? Lets keep it that way. The food was good. So all in all. Bad atmosphere. Bad service. Bad drinks. But good cook. They didnt have what I was looking for and I wont be back for more. Ha

Me and my friends went for a nice Friday night dinner. The second we got seated are waiter instantly recognized us from our previous visit months before. So big shout out to Nick from Lynnfield 99 he's the real homey. We felt like we had been friends with him forever. He really deserves a promotion because he's that awesome. Next time we go we will request to be served by nick!

I ordered a chicken kabob salad and the chicken was raw. How hard is it to cook cubes of chicken? Luckily I cut into it instead of putting the whole piece in my mouth. I told the waitress about it and she brought it back. It looks like they just took the meat and cook it again then throw it back on the salad. I lost my appetite after this since I know that the salad was probably contaminated with the raw meat. I figure they would make a new one to avoid contamination but they didn't. No offer on a free meal or a free app or something. Will never go to the 99 again,

The food is good as it is at all 99's, the service is friendly and quick, but the music they play is intrusive and so loud that the fillings in my teeth were rattling. The staff is young, and they apparently enjoy the dissonant notes of today's music, but when we were there for lunch yesterday the restaurant was 1/3 full and 99% of the customer heads were grey. The couple across from us first complained about the music, then we added our distaste too, and finally a third couple joined us. It seems almost every casual restaurant in the area has the same problem these days. I'm going to start eating at home more. I also wish restaurants in general would drop the gigantic menus with the pictures. I know what a burger looks like: I don't need an 8X10 glossy. The menus at the 99 are so huge that two people sitting across from each other cannot both open the menus at the same time.
