"Whenever you need a premium cold brew or single-origin coffee in Harlem, 9Tails is the place to go. Korean-American owner John Cho decided on the name as a nod to the nine-tailed fox spirit in East Asian folklore, a benevolent shapeshifting creature that's considered a good omen as a result of great longevity. The menu includes seasonal drinks like calpico frescas or yuzu citron iced tea during warmer months along with a selection of baked goods, including a homemade Bourbon apple cake—make sure to get there early before it runs out. The shop is located on a quiet residential street and recently expanded within the adjacent hardware and supply store, Mushtari. Pleasantly distracted by the abundance of plants for sale, it’s impossible not to smile here, especially after you spot the framed portrait of Cookie Monster sitting by the register." - esther cho, with warm welcome, kenny yang

In my opinion, the best espresso you can have in the city. It's a shame that something that good is served in a paper cup. Still the best though.

Ambiance is great with nice tables to sit and chat or work, and I love coffee shops inside plant shops. Sadly the honey butter biscuit was undercooked (doughy on the inside and still floury on the outside) with almost no honey flavor to speak of. The latte was smooth but weaker than I like it. I would come back to try something else but skip the biscuit

Stopped by for coffee and I was pleasantly surprised. The coffee shop is located inside a flower shop. I ordered matcha latte and it was good. Service was very friendly. Will visit again.

Came here during hours but no one was at the counter... waited like 10 minutes and still no one. Not professional. Luckily the hardware and plant shop that the coffee shop is attached to is open so we just shopped around there.

A STUNNING , hyper-local plant-covered sanctuary tucked away in a plant+garden shop in the heart of Harlem. This cafe has incredible ambience and is the perfect place to quickly stop for some specialty coffee that you might not find elsewhere in Harlem. The Baristas are very warm and forthcoming. It is a magical experience overall!

Lush coffee shop in Harlem, with super friendly staff and delicious coffee. Been there a couple of time, consistent quality of coffee, very happy with it. Croissants are OK, unlikely to be made on the premises but better than most I've experienced in NYC so far!

Possibly the most ingenious yet pragmatic coffee shop I've ever been in. Need plants? Need coffee? Bam. I love this place! And the coffee tastes amazing!

I had a pastry for $5, and the next day I saw that I was charged $95 dollars instead. The difference was exactly $90.00. The machine was the same as in any other coffeeshop in the city, and I it showed five dollars plus tax when I tapped. I came back, but they said they were unable to make a refund or even to print a receipt for that transaction. They suggested to file a fraud complaint to my bank, but without a receipt the bank declined to see it as a fraud.
