"In a pretty little street between the canals you will find the concept store of the conceptual Dutch design company Droog. The name ‘hotel’ is misleading, since there is just one room to sleep. But you can always drop in for a drink and a bite. Hôtel Droog brings all of the company's activities under one roof, from product design, exhibitions and lectures to some exclusive design shopping." - Resoluut
"It All Adds Up at Droog What do you get when you combine a design gallery/store with a café, beauty salon, fashion boutique and rental apartment? Add it all up and it equates to Droog, a multifunctional space that melds a 160-square meter exhibition space with an airy dining room, a tearoom overlooking an outdoor garden and a single bedroom for overnight guests. “The concept of a hotel has been reversed," says Renny Ramakers, co-founder and director of Droog. "Whereas a hotel is...mostly about sleeping, here we have enlarged and emphasized all the aspects that many hotels also offer and made them central to the experience—and it even has a room to sleep in.” Housed in a 17th century building in central Amsterdam , Droog showcases product design in exhibitions and lectures, and invites people to plug in as they choose. In the gallery, view the latest in international furniture design, art and fashion. Shop at the Droog Store, then refuel at RoomService by Droog, open for late breakfast, lunch, high tea and early dinner, or just drinks and snacks. Head to Cosmania to up your beauty game, shop for hip fashion at Kabinet and stock up on wellness products at Weltevree. On top floor, Hôtel Droog offers overnight guests a brightly-lit bedroom, bathroom with separate bath and shower, living area and kitchen. Perched in the aery enclave, enjoy a splendid view of Amsterdam rooftops and the city below."
"It’s hard to categorize Droog as any one thing since it’s actually a shop, design collective, gallery, café, garden, and micro-hotel (there’s only one guestroom) all spread out over three floors of a single historic house. The shop is stocked with design-y home décor, accessories, and furniture from notable Dutch makers, as well as an area devoted to under-the-radar fashion labels, and a “spa” for beauty products of European origin. Connected to the retail space you’ll find the Fairy Tale Garden—a real-life garden designed by Claude Pasquer and Corinne Détroyat to look like something out of a pop-up book. Set up right next to the garden is Roomservice—a truly special little nook for grabbing a cup of coffee, a glass of wine, or something more substantial, like soup and salad. It’s a lot to take in, we suggest setting aside a good chunk of the day to exploring the space. "
"Unspooling across five 17th century buildings, this is the inspiration-packed HQ of conceptual design gurus Droog, who celebrated their 25th anniversary in spring 2018. Having tripled in size not so long ago, each of the venue's spaces has its own character, but all reflect the Dutch brand’s out-there sensibility. Downstairs is retail heaven in the (quirky) shape of furniture, lighting, and accessories by Droog and other big-ticket designers. The venue also hosts avant-garde fashion, a beauty corner, and health-oriented café, alongside a fairytale garden and a penthouse apartment that’s a living Droog showroom." - Clodagh Kinsella

Overall, I would give 4 stars ⭐️. A great place (within the noisy city center area) to enjoy some quiet and peaceful time with friends or just by yourself.
2 stars ⭐️ are for the food and service. The food was good, the butterfly pea ice tea looked amazing but lack of taste, it tasted quite plain. In my opinion, adding a bit syrup might lift up the taste. The service was quite nice. We enjoyed our time there.
The entire atmosphere is definitely worth 1 star ⭐️. I would recommend take some time on the ground floor, no need to rush to the restaurant which is in the first floor. There are many interesting things for you to explore.
The price is reasonable compared with neighborhood in that area. So 1 star ⭐️ is given here.
The only minus point of this restaurant is not easy to reach by any transportation, the best way to get there is walking. Not easy to find a parking spot in that area.

Hidden gem in Amsterdam. Gallery and restaurant in the same location! Perfect place if you want to grab some food in a central area without being surrounded by tourists. Positive and quiet vibes, food is good and healthy, staff and service are great vs Ams standards, prices are reasonable. Definitely will come back for my 3rd time!

Very interesting place. The downstairs is a mix of gallery and working area. Upstairs is the cafe and they serve you fresh local food. Although the food wasn’t anything crazy, it was still tasty and worth experiencing it. Kind and friendly staff.

This cafe is part of many venues and spaces that host art galleries, pop up shops and many more. It is situated in one of five historic buildings. The cafe is very bright, elegant and spacious. Good to enjoy your afternoon coffee.
