Three day turn around time for a custom cake and excellent customer service!!! I called on Wednesday right before they closed to see if a custom cake was possible to be completed by Saturday to which the gal on the phone was helpful and said it was not a problem just go to the website and fill out the custom order form. I received an email the following morning, confirming they could get the cake taken care of and it would only be $85! There was a hiccup with the cake when I received it but I called and Steven was extremely kind and quick in getting the minor issue resolved quickly!!! My husband was so happy with his cake and our guests loved the Reese’s flavor. We will be back in the future!

What was meant to be a surprise graduation cake was completely ruined during transit from the bakery to the restaurant. The driver—arranged by the bakery—dropped it off in this condition and rushed out. Thankfully, the restaurant manager quickly snapped a photo, chased down the driver, and returned the cake, stating they could not accept it in that condition. When I sent the picture to Cate from the bakery, she argued that it wasn’t their responsibility because the driver was a third party… even though she arranged the delivery. On top of the damage, the cake didn’t even match my order: it was missing the “RN” letters on the sides of the medallion and had the wrong plaque. Yes it looked like a beautiful cake but without what I asked for. A reputable bakery takes ownership from the beginning without arguing with the customer and works with the delivery partner to resolve the problem because the customer’s relationship is with the bakery, not the driver. When I texted Cate about the missing design elements, her response (see screenshot) again showed no accountability and not even a simple “I’m sorry.” She seemed more annoyed with me about the situation and asking for a refund like I did something wrong.

We love this place! Delicious coffee and cake. The blueberry pancake latte is amazing! Super fun cake decorating class. We’ll be back! And it was in the same building where I bought my wedding dress, so special! Would also be a great girls day to go wedding dress shopping then pop next door for coffee/pastries!

Each cake we've purchased has been 100% moist and Superb!! The owner is extremely friendly as the staff very welcoming!! Excellent cakes, the best!! We are avid cake people. Buddy Cake Boss, Georgetown Cupcakes of Food Channel and Sprinkles although they are very good, are not nearly as tasty/good as this Bakery. Phenomenal product!! We got the Strawberry and the Snickers cake and tasted German Chocolate Perfection!!! As long as we live in Arizona our forever cake shop. 🎂!!!

I've been coming here for quite a few years; I drove out of my way when they were on 16th street. I have spent a lot of money, and I'm sad to say I won't be back. The customer service I experienced in June and again this past week was horrible. I hate to say this, but I believe it is because of the color of my skin. I stood waiting for someone to acknowledge me while they all looked at me, walking back and forth talking to each other. I will find another bakery to spend my money. You should treat everyone with respect regardless of their skin color.

aBake Shop did an absolutely phenomenal job with our wedding cake and mini desserts. The taste was impeccable, and the presentation was gorgeous. Cate and the team were friendly, responsive, and accommodating.

You made my wedding sweetheart cake a dream come true. I can’t thank you all enough for a wonderful job and easy ordering! We loved our cake and can’t wait to have it again on our first anniversary!

The most posh bakery in downtown Phoenix area, I noticed some pastries were gone by 10:30 am so my suggestion is get there earlier for a wider selection, the tasting cake was out for people to try, I bought a variety of mini cupcakes and a shortbread with chocolate ganache! Absolutely mouthwatering

Wow! I don't know what else to say! This place slays! The pastries are out of this world. Best pastries in America. I felt like I was at a European patisserie!!!!! The coffee is incredible of course because they use Moxie! I had an almond biscotti latte half sweet with two extra shots and I was in espresso heaven! The barista is so friendly and was so patient while we were trying to decide what we wanted. You must go here!

my son wanted a Neapolitan cake for his birthday, and a bake shop accepted the challenge! The fillings were vanilla, custard and strawberry cream cheese, and both were delicious. This cake was huge, but it was so delicious and everyone raved about it. Definitely a party highlight

After wanting to try A Bakeshop for quite some time, I finally had the perfect excuse - I was in search of a birthday cake to gift to my girlfriend. I was so excited about their options that I ended up walking away with two! First I checked out their website, where I was able to view the assortment of treats they offer (cakes, cookies, macarons, specialty desserts) and their different cake options. You can of course reach out for custom designs, but since I was happy with their core offerings, I was able to easily order online and selected a pick up window for a few weeks later. I'm not sure if they have always had this option or if it was sparked by COVID, but it was such an easy transaction. Delivery is available too for a few and within a certain radius. Pick up was easy and the girl working was super nice and masked up. She made sure to verify the order and opened each cake box so I could confirm that the items were correct. I also walked away with one of their cactus macarons because.. duh. The space itself is cute. They have a display case with some of their smaller treats available for purchase each day. I went with a 6" Funfetti cake and a 6" Rice Crispy cake... because.... it's a rice crispy cake?!?! The rice crispy option allows you to select your filling too (I went with funfetti buttercream). They each had four layers. Both cakes are quoted to serve 8-14 and that is definitely true. You get a LOT of cake (or rice crispy)! The rice crispy cake was a total hit. I was worried that it might be too hard or not as amazing as it sounded but it absolutely was. Probably the best rice crispy treat concoction that all of us have ever had. Plus, it came with two macarons on top which were delicious. The funfetti cake looked amazing and tasted good too. The cake was a little more on the dense side but I enjoyed it. Paired with the buttercream it was rich and I could barely finish a slice (if you know me you know this doesn't happen often). Overall, the entire process was seamless and the cakes absolutely met my expectations. I can't wait to try some of their other flavors in the future and will definitely return!

We wanted a little something sweet and came to a bakeshop. The parking is shared with other businesses and is cramped and busy. The shop is super cute and simple. We were quickly greeted and helped. They have cupcakes, macarons, cookies, bars and pops. Plenty of options. We got 6 mini cupcakes, cookies and macarons. Everything was almost $50!! Lol pricey but everything tasted great! Cupcakes were small but perfect. We got 2 vanilla, 2 strawberry, a lemon raspberry and an Oreo. They were all moist and a big swirl of icing on the top. The icing was a little dense but good. The flavors of the cupcakes shined through. The macarons were all perfectly made and tasted great. The cookies were freshly baked and tasted amazing as well. Overall, the have wonderful options to choose from and everything tasted fantastic. The prices were a little high but I would rather support a local small business over a chain any day of the week. We will definitely pop back in again!

Incredible baker!! We used A Bakeshop for both our wedding cake and desserts. They are EXPERTS when it comes to gluten free cakes. It was so good our guests could not even tell the difference. I loved the cactus macaroons and everyone ate the churros and brownies too. Would highly recommend using them again!

I'm updating my review just to add pictures showing the contrast between what the colors were supposed to look like and how they actually looked. I thought I'd already added these but then saw they weren't part of my original review. I'm curious if anyone thinks the colors turned out "spot on," as A Bake Shop described them. Vote "funny" if you do NOT think colors are spot on and vote "cool" if you think they are. Don't let my opinion bias you.

Amazing! We ordered the largest size carrot cake and rice krispy treats for a birthday party. Both items were incredibly delicious and garnered numerous compliments. I heard over and over "This is the best carrot cake I've ever had." Ordering was seamlessly completed online and the cake was ready exactly when I requested. This will be my go to bake shop from now on!

Very disappointed in the cake I received. I came in and requested a custom cake, I was told the initial price of $100 for a 8 inch which I was fine paying. When a week had passed and it was time for me to pick up the cake, I was presented with the one in the second photo. I had emailed them all the details and what I wanted in the cake, but it wasn't anything like how I hoped it would be. I paid for it to be written on as well, but there was nothing written on it. Took a look at the cake and I was immediately disappointed on how it came out, it was nothing like the photo sadly. For the price and the time it took to make it, it was a huge let down. Would not go again sadly.

So I wanted to surprise a friend for his 30th birthday who was working in Arizona for the Super Bowl. I was ordering out of state and was worried it wouldn't be an easy process. I called the shop and explained everything to Stephen and he made everything easy from the details, to delivery. I was sent a picture of the cake prior to delivery and the writing was not what I expected. They were very kind to fix it prior to delivery which I was very thankful and impressed! I gave four stars because my friend said it was beautiful cake and the icing was good but the cake part tasted funny. For $140 to be made/delivered I thought he would have enjoyed, I obviously did not taste the cake and everyone's taste buds are different.

I first tried their yummy mini cupcakes & cactus shaped macaroons at a yelp event and have had them several times since! Staff is always welcoming! Cute Instagram friendly store front just draws you in! They have various cupcakes flavors, macaroons, cookies, amazing lemon bars and even wedding cakes!! They are taking orders for an adorable Valentine's Day cake with sprinkles & two macaroons on top!! Almost to cute to eat!! Parking is terrible but don't let that stop you! Eat some there and grab some to go!!

We used aBakeshop for our engagement party & wedding. We opted for a smaller cutting cake for myself & my husband. It was lightly coated with buttercream & had a mocha and caramel filling. We served our guests cinnamon sugar & glazed donuts. The donuts were a huge hit! I will definitely use them for future special occasions.

Super cute inside, love the touches of floral and the cake stand wall. Parking was very limited and difficult to find. Cupcakes they have ready to eat are tiny and almost $4 each, that was disappointing. The flavors I had were the lemon-raspberry, chocolate, and carrot cake; all were delicious. I might consider ordering cupcakes from them in the future assuming they're full size. Also tried the frosted shortbread cookie which was really yummy! Both people who helped me out were very friendly. My only true disappointment was the size of the cupcakes for the price.

Hello. So, I have frequented this place for years at the old location. My favorite thing is the ricotta cookies. This morning when I called to see if they had some in their cookie case, they did. So, yay, they set aside some cookies for me. I went to the old location because it has been a will since I had visited Phoenix. Anyway, once I found the place, they did have my cookies ready. They were a little cold, but room temp made them delicious as usual. So, why not five stars? Well, although the new place is very pretty and extremely clean, it seems it just wasn't home and local feeling like before. Still, it is THE place if you need a cake in Phoenix. It is just a little far from where I live now, so I will not be able to swing by and pick up goodies on a whim like I have in the past. The counter help was friendly Also, once they realized my sweet Fang has earned the right to go everywhere, they were super friendly.

I was at my best friends gender reveal, where her cake was purchased from here to reveal which gender her baby will be and we were all so disappointed to find out the cake was completely white inside after simple instructions to put blue icing in it. She already had to take the cake back before even cutting into it for the reveal because they had spelt "february" with three r's. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

I ordered a custom cake from A Bakeshop for my mom's 75th birthday and had a good experience. My mother loves hydrangeas and they were happy to make a custom cake based on some reference photos I shared. I purchased a 6" lemon raspberry cake with the flower decorations on top, and it turned out beautifully! My mom loved the design, and we all enjoyed the flavor. I docked one star as the buttercream frosting was a bit denser than expected despite taking the cake out of the fridge an hour before serving. Overall I was pleased with this shop and would order from them again.

Wish so badly I could give zero stars.. This is literally the last place I'd recommend for a cake. The workers are seriously incompetent, I got a cake for my gender reveal yesterday.. it was delivered with February spelled with three "r"s in the word. Obviously we had to send it back, on top of the spelling being incorrect it was just sloppy handwriting. When my boyfriend & I finally cut into our cake, after weeks of waiting to know the gender of our baby.. the inside of the cake was white. Without pink or blue inside, so they messed that up as well. Ruined my entire gender reveal party with the biggest mistake they could possibly make. How difficult is it.. to do your job? This was truly the craziest experience I've ever had with ANY company. I'd literally recommend Walmart or fry's before I recommend this awful place. You've been warned! I was unable to get a photo of the inside of the cake being WHITE due to the distress me & my entire family were in, but here is February being spelled with three "r"s.

I ordered a small birthday cake for my partner. It was very delicious and the entire cake was gone the next day! I only got one small piece but it was amazing. Decadent and moist! Will definitely order from them again!

By far the best cupcakes and cookies in town. Bummed they moved from Bethany Home Location however my waist line thanks them. . These goodies belong in restaurants across the valley to get them more readily.

I've been meaning to give this place my review for years, even when I didn't live here, I'd make a point to stop in. Well it is easy to do, I get my coffee at Luci's, cross the street to get my hands on the most delectable bakes in Phoenix!!! I'm telling you folks, this is the real deal! Best baked goodies in the valley! Get there early because once they're gone, they're gone, until the next day Got to get the cactus macaroon, and the oatmeal cream filled cookie, oh and the cupcakes...don't forget a peanut butter brownie bar too!!! Okay,be like me, and get at least 2 of everything! That way you're safe, no regrets! Life is too short!

I only had a short time to order cakes for my sister's small wedding. I ordered from A Bakeshop's Signature and Designer Cakes. The online ordering and payment was easy. Their team outreached me to clarify which cake would get the added flowers. On the day of pick up I received an email that they were ready (early). The cakes are beautiful and my sister and her husband loved them. On the Signature Chocolate Velvet, I did add a cake topper I purchased from Etsy. Several attendees asked where I got the cakes and expressed interest in ordering from them. The cakes were moist, the cream frosting was not too overpowering (tasted great). I would definitely order from here again!

I cannot rave enough about the cake that they made for my mothers 80th birthday. Her favorite thing in the world is peanut butter and chocolate so after reviewing many local bake shops online I chose this place because of their "candy bar" menu item cake.. live in California and communication was quick and easy over email. I booked the order and even had them deliver right to her front door just before the party started... It was the most unbelievable cake I have ever had and all of the party asked for the contact information.the peanut butter and chocolate layers inside were divine. The cake was moist and perfect, and the outer coating of salted caramel added so much class and flavor. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. I had treats from A Bakeshop pop-up last year at Anthropologie, but today was my first time visiting here. It is totally adorable. We had a full blown photo shoot on the couch before even ordering our treats haha. I love the flower wall and pink couch! Also their wedding cakes look beautiful. I ordered a mini chocolate cupcake and it was delicious! The cake was moist and the icing was yummy without being too sweet. Also it was filled with a little frosting too which added to the amazing. Macaroons were adorable as well. I'd love to come back for an oatmeal cream pie because those looked delicious as well!!

Great cookies and bars! Have not ordered cake from here therefore cannot comment on that. They will be moving in April/May even further away from us yet if we are ever near their new location (I can't remember where they said they elected moving to) we will grab a cookie or two.

Wow! I love this cute little place! Not only is it adorable and it has an amazing mural on the wall, the baked goods are the bomb! I tried the triple chocolate mini cupcakes at a Yelp event at Teaspressa, and I could not get them out of my mind. So the next day I took my mom there to get my cupcakes and anything else that looked good. Well it all looks good. I tried the salted caramel chocolate cupcake and that is amazing! I also loved the iced shortbread! My mom loved those the best as well! Bad news is I live in Gilbert so it's a drive for me. Good news it's on the way to visit my mom and dad, so guess who's making a stop here on the way!

We have three birthdays in our house for April. And we always celebrate them individually and with COVID-19 we decided to support local businesses as much as we can. So I ordered my husband's cake here more than a month in advance so they would have some business. When I went into order the cake I was excited cause I was gonna buy something that day too. But there was nothing in the case at all. And for a second I thought they were closing down because of everything with COVID-19. But then the lady came out to take my order she was not very friendly or super helpful but I had already looked on the menu online so I knew what I needed. I placed the order and paid for the cake $67 for a small berry cream cake. When I went to pick it up today I parked right in front of their door got out my car and noticed they have a letter on the door stating they prefer that you do curbside so call them. I went back to my car and called nobody answered. I could see two staff inside so I called again and it rang and rang and went to voicemail. Instead of calling the third time I went back to the front door and rang the bell. As I was waiting there a lady parked next to me got to her car and yelled to me if I could let them know she was waiting to because she was calling and nobody was answering. I received my cake and went home. The cake was decorated just fine very similar to the picture. It looks nice. And the decoration is the two stars. The cake itself was very bland and the cream cheese frosting had hardly any taste. I was extremely disappointed in the taste of the cake and the cake itself did seem a little dry. I love supporting local businesses. But I cannot recommend getting a cake here for the simple price versus taste reason. I stand by my original post the cookie was delicious I don't know if they do those all the time.

I found this bakery online, and decided to give them a try. I ordered a Sweet 16 cake for my daughter. I am not a chocolate person however, I ordered my choc-o-holic daughter a triple chocolate birthday cake infused with cherries. The cake was beautifully decorated, and even I thought it was delicious. My daughter and her friends thoroughly enjoyed this masterpiece!

Ordering cupcakes , lemon with strawberry cream frosting. Omg! Out of this world. Service was excellent everyone in shop do very kind. Ambiance is very welcoming. So clean and pretty. Perfect place! Highly recommend.

Fresh everything is tasty!There people at staffs, are a friend, and the service is speedy. The cakes are elegant and seem to be very fit for any kind of events. There is a must-visit place where it is impossible to forget about sweet delights for those with a sweet tooth.

Our family discovered A Bakeshop pretty recently after it opened and have been a loyal fan ever since. We have ordered cakes, cupcakes, cookies, you name it for every special event in our lives from birthdays to baby showers and we are never disappointed. Of course, when the time came to choose a bakery for our wedding cake/desserts it was not even a question to have A Bakeshop cater our wedding this past October. Andrea made it easy to schedule a tasting and get everything set up for the big day. We had SO MANY compliments on the desserts we had at our wedding, and some of my friends from California that attended have even pleaded that I bring those AMAZING peanut butter sandwich cookies the next time I come to visit. Anyways, Andrea and her team did an amazing job at our wedding and every other event we have ordered a dessert for and we HIGHLY recommend them without any hesitation. We cannot say enough great things about A Bakeshop and will surely be singing their praises for years to come.

Wow, this place is amazing. I had read some of the negative reviews and almost hesitated and I'm so glad I didn't. I went online and ordered a cake for my GF's birthday, it was super easy. I got the chocolate bar cake and paid extra to have it oversized just to be extra. This thing was so delicious. Multiple people at her party said it was the best cake they ever had, no sh*t. Highly recommend for birthday cakes, etc. Thank you for helping to fulfill my GF's wish of "having a big- ass cake!"

I wasnt even planning to visit this place- I wanted lunch so parked in their parking lot and couldn't help but go in. First off, aesthetically it's clean and beautiful in this cute shop. Ester helped me and she was lovely and personable. The other girl working front end was friendly too. Ester recommended the oatmeal pie, blueberry muffin and I also wanted to try their choc chip cookie. The oatmeal pie will most likely be done by the time I get home, embarrassingly the muffin was moist and crisp on the top just the way a muffin should be. They also do coffee here! You would be missing out if you decided not to check this place out. I'll be back!

My mother came in town for my 1st Born baby shower. One of the things she's wanted to get right was the cake and with the theme. The cake was absolutely delish and beautiful but was not what my mom ordered. She even sent them a picture of the artwork and spoke about cost and flavor. It was agreed upon and when it was delivered the day of the shower yesterday, none of the cake details and toppings were on the cake. My mother called and received the most rude feedback that it was a up charge and it wasn't what she ordered. My mother has the backup to prove and the bakery blamed her. Not only did they not accommodate or try to help the situation, but made my mom stressed out, the last thing I wanted. I also heard from my mother in law on a separate occasion they would not help her to her car with a previous order. I am so disappointed by the lack of customer service that does not match the sweet shop it has potential to be. The way you handle your customers is vital to your business, needs so much work.

The BEST bakery hands down!! The ricotta cookies are my absolute favorite!! The cakes are absolutely beautiful. Show stopper for sure. Everything is so beautiful. When I picked up my last order, I got a coffee and it was delish!! Seriously, I don't live close by but It is so worth the drive. Not to mention everyone that works there is amazing... especially the owner!

What a gorgeous little bakery! If you like fun cupcakes, bars, cookies, cakes, and macaroons then this is your place. I had a slice of the Cassata (cannoli cake), a Magic Bar (butterscotch, coconut, chocolate chips), a Peanut Butter Bar (chocolate rice crispy top, peanut butter filling, and chocolate fudge bottom), and a Chocolate Salted Caramel Cookie Sandwhich (two chocolate cookies with a salted caramel cream filling). Great service, good quality, but high prices. My favorite out of the bunch was the Cannoli Cake! They do make cakes for special occasions but I'd suggest ordering weeks in advance. They seem to be very popular for orders.

After looking for bakeshops in and around Phoenix we stumbled on A Bakeshop. We went in towards the end of their day and most of their takeout stock was gone so we ordered what we could: Oatmeal, Peanut Butter and a Sugar Cookie, along with a vanilla cupcake, strawberry and chocolate "mini" cupcake. The price alone for the mini cupcakes is outrageous ($3.50) considering these are much smaller. The worse part however, was the butter cream used in almost all of the deserts. It was not whipped enough so it was really dense and the ratio of butter to powdered sugar was way off! Everything tasted like unsalted butter. The vanilla cupcake and sugar cookie were the worst offenders and tasted like we were just eating a stick of butter. Wanted to find a closer bakery near us, but sadly this wasn't it and we won't be returning.

I called in last minute for a cake, they had one ready to go so I was super lucky. The gentlemen that helped me was the freakin man. Amazing experience. The cake and ice cream is arguably the best we've ever had. Could not recommend enough. Thanks so much!

Macaroons! Bought some for my cousins lunch and I tried the blue one it's so good So I'm pretty sure their all tasty ! I've been wanting to go back and get it for myself . It was so cute the cashier ask if it was a gift and she wrapped it so pretty ! We'll definitely go back

Ordered the cassata cake for Hubby's birthday and it was out of this world! Sort of tasted like a churro. Not too sweet just like I requested, the bad part, not a morsel was left and hubby didn't get to try it. At that price point I didn't want to go any bigger so I bought an ice cream as back up. It was worth every penny. We'll be back to try their other flavors, just not with customized design.

This is the cutest little bakery! I live nearby and have been meaning to stop by. I finally did after a workday and learned that they have happy hour (50% off single items) from 4-6pm. I ordered all 4 of the macaron flavors they had that day (including this cute cactus-shaped one), a giant peanut butter brownie, and the red velvet, double chocolate, double vanilla, and salted caramel mini cupcakes. The macaron flavors were standard, but I liked how they were perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. The giant peanut butter brownie was sweet but yummy. The cupcakes were also delicious. Not gonna lie - everything in here looked SO cute that I kind of splurged the first time I went. I'd definitely come back again for other bakeshop needs or if I'm just feeling like it! This is located in a tight complex on the northeast corner of 16th St & Bethany Home. There are a few parking spots outside, and some seats inside. The decor is adorable and they sell other celebratory items in addition to pastries.
