I had an unforgettable experience at The Block—stylish, welcoming, and full of character. The real standout experience was 🔥 Ember & Ice 💎, the on-site sauna and cold plunge that took relaxation and recovery to the next level. After a day in the mountains, there’s nothing like the contrast therapy to revive both body and mind. The hotel’s bar and lounge had great vibes, craft cocktails, and cozy mountain charm that made us feel right at home. This place is a hidden gem in Silverthorne—can’t wait to come back!

Great community bar with fun events such as trivia nights! I recently swing by to enjoy the Sauna Parked on their patio Ember and Ice, such a great location for a barrel wood sauna by the Blue River. The Block also hosts a lot of community events such as some First Fridays, Yoga, etc

EPIC spot! if you in transition for camping and connecting in Summit county. This is an Amazing spot to kick it! Check out Ember & Ice had a great time with those guys as-well!

Google
It's a hotel/hostel bar. Seems like an interesting place to meet people, but the night I went wasn't crowded. The old fashioned made with rum is okay. Little bit too bitter and could use some other ingredients to balance it.

We went in and had a glass of wine. Very nice space. Staff was attentive, the pour was adequate. I love that this is a dog friendly place. Sweet!!! They are starting to have a jam night. Looking forward to this. They only server snacks at this time, but you can bring outside food in.

Yelp
My husband and I really enjoyed our recent stay at the Pad. Although it's technically a hostel with dorms, our experience felt much more like hotel, as we had booked a private room with its own bathroom. The room was comfortable, with a coffee machine and a fridge, not huge but spacious enough for two. We didn't get to see the dorms (you need a key to access those sections of the building), which is reassuring from a safety perspective. I especially loved the atmosphere with plenty of seating areas, a large bar (live music during our visit), beautiful views, a great location by the Blue River, outdoor spaces, and very friendly staff. There is no restaurant on-site but guests can use the communal kitchen, which we did for breakfast. I really appreciated the sense of community they created. It's definitely not your typical hostel, more of a boutique hotel/hostel. We'll certainly return next time we are in the area!

Yelp
I liked the cold Coors Light for $5/pint. A little high for happiness during 3pm. The stiff bartender didn't seem interested in haggling, so I didn't try. Instead I enjoyed the very comfortable seats, clean toilets, and AC, a rarity in Colorado bars, and almost unheard of in Silverthorne

Yelp
A great place to meet friends and hang out. They don't serve food but allow us to bring our own. We frequent there for games or just meeting up.

Yelp
We weren't quite sure what to expect when we booked this place considering it's a "hostel" and hotel in one. After booking a micro room, I realized it had a Twin XL which wouldn't work for my tall husband and myself, so we upgraded to the private room with a queen - this ended up being a full mattress sitting on a queen frame, but we made it work. The front desk was extremely friendly (the humans AND the canines) and super helpful in accommodating our requests for extra pillows. We checked in early and set out to explore, coming back to a bed full of those extra pillows. Our room was very clean - you could tell they had just cleaned it and the smell was slightly overpowering. We wish the windows were able to open, but after leaving the door open with a fan, it seemed to air out pretty well. The bathroom was WAY larger than some of the pictures we saw, but there are plenty of common bathrooms down the hall if needed that were also spotless. The bar was our favorite part, and our bartender Jess made our experience what it was. When we got rained inside, we spent the afternoons and evenings playing cards at the bar, enjoyed trivia on Wednesday night, and had a blast chatting with Jess every evening. They have a wide variety of taps (wish there were more cider options, but there was something for everyone still) and mixed drinks as well. The location is directly next to the river and with a beautiful view of the mountains. We're counting down until next year when we can go back for an even longer vacation! LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

Yelp
This is a great place to stay. We were in town for two days for a wedding at the pavilion and this place was just a short walk across the bridge. We had a private room with an on suit bathroom. Very clean and quiet and cool. The bar area is awesome. We met up with our out of town group as we all arrived into town as everyone was staying in a nearby rentals. Everything was within walking distance. Enzo's Italian restaurant was delicious! There were several seating areas to hangout in doors and outside. The rushing river was a beautiful sight to see. Dogs strolling around chilling. The community is friendly and welcoming. I'm sure it's a wonderful stay in the winter for skiers as well as wedding goers. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Passing through from Boulder to Aspen.. stopped at this amazing spot!! We were lucky enough to try out Ember & Ice sauna and cold plunge! Awesome access to the river and beautiful views. Amazing way to head into the weekend! Thank you to The Block Hotel for this experience! Great place and great people!

Yelp
I needed a place to rest my head to break up a long drive from Denver into the mountains. The Pad was very accommodating despite my late-night check in time. All of the staff who I interacted with was very friendly. The space felt like a fancy hotel without the fancy prices. Bathrooms were clean and bedding was already made...something that is honestly not that common for hostels. I wish I were there longer to enjoy the rest of the facilities!

Yelp
Stayed at the Pad one night recently and found it to be a pleasant surprise. I booked a tiny room with a private shower (I don't do bunk rooms). The space was small, clean, and perfect for my needs. The common areas are very comfortable--plenty of nooks and spaces to set up a computer if your vacations still need to get paid for. The bar is great. Won't hesitate to stay here again the next time I'm in Silverthorne.

Yelp
The Pad is the best place to stay in Summit County. The Beds are clean and comfortable. The Bar is great and the staff is amazing. My diesel truck wouldn't start at 5am and Caston at the front desk came out in -1 degree weather and got me running. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I almost don't want to post this in hopes of keeping this place a secret but I need to share. We had the most amazing 2 days here. They have thought of everything!! We come to the mountains often and we always struggle with where to stay. We wanted somewhere conveniently located to the mountains & a grocery and affordable and we sure found it!! From booking to check out they made everything extremely easy. We arrived with little expectations and were blown away. When we walked in we were greeted by the friendliest front desk staff who showed us to our room & around the Pad. We were so excited to see they had a large hot tub (with an amazing view), a gear room for our skis (what!!! How awesome!), and a fully stocked kitchen for us to use. The Pad is clean & the vibes are right. We were blown away when we opened the door to our room. The bed was comfy & the room well decorated with so many little well thought out features. This room was so practical for our adventures. We were thrilled to find out they had upgraded us for no reason. The room is equipped with USB wall chargers, which I always feel is a treat, a large TV, coffee maker, and ours had a mini fridge. Across the board, the Pad goes the extra mile. From a wood key card, to art on the wall for sale by local artists, to the soaps by a company donate soap to those in need, the Pad deserves every bit of the 5 stars. I didn't grab a drink at the bar, but we did play games in the lounge. The culture here is different. We met the kindest, most interesting people while cooking, playing games, and hanging in the hot tub. If you plan to go solo, with a group of friends, or your partner this place is perfect!! The staff is great! So helpful, so personable and everyone makes you feel so welcome. We even got a tour of the event space. Definitely a place to keep in mind for any future events as well!!

Yelp
The Pad is geared towards community and socializing. The common areas are well decorated with artwork and comfy furniture to compensate for the tiny rooms. There are also scheduled nightly activities such a trivia night and local music as well as a food truck. The bar is the main attraction and no outside beverages are allowed. We got a bunk room for two and it was freezing cold the first night. And the night clerk was of no help. The top bunk got the all the heat while the bottom was a cave. I didn't sleep a wink. Luckily at shift change, another lady got us a space heater and that was an easy fix. We did have to crank up the heat to 82 still. Also, the shades are not black out. I think the best feature was the rooftop hot tub.

Yelp
Stayed over NYE weekend & already want to plan another trip back at The Pad! Check in was seamless and we haven't had any issues with parking. There was a text message service where you could ask any questions from location time/how to adjust the temperature in your room and it was extremely responsive & helpful. My boyfriend and I stayed in a micro room - with shared restrooms and it perfectly suited our needs. They had a separate storage area for our ski gear. Since it was NYE, they had facilitated some events & our room was next to it - and the sound never bothered us. It was great to see the community building & the entire lobby and common areas are decorated beautifully. Everything was clean and the staff is so kind. Definitely consider staying here if you're looking for an affordable and unique experience for your mountain get away.

Yelp
The employees are worthless! The owner was supposed to contact me and didn't. I have recommended this place to several people in the past but now that I have stayed there I would never again!

Yelp
My arrival at this location was seamless, the young gentleman was very accommodating and made sure that I was comfortable upon my late arrival. The next day I encountered what I believed was a SMALL obstacle that could be rectified until I was rudely /verbally attacked by LYNN BEAR (front desk) staff person. I informed her of my concern that there was not any parking the night before and Lynn informed me that it was my fault that I didn't ask about their overflow parking. I asked Lynn if she thought it would have been appropriate to inform guests of their additional parking when guests were checking in since they(the hotel staff ) were aware that an event was going to occur across the street during the timeframe of my stay. Lynn rudely stated, no "you need to be more more aware of your environment when you stay places.' I am uncertain of her correlation of environment to the hotel staff giving a pertinent information to guest; however Lynn made it very clear that she did not care what occurred and she told me that she inquire about situations when she stay at hotels which had nothing to do with me and this current situation. Lynn continually interrupted me from communicating to her. I informed Lynn that I would be writing a review about her unprofessionalism, racial slurs, etc. Her response, PERFECT! Her final words were, "you can even contact the GM if you want to do that," as to imply nothing was going to occur to her regarding her rude, unprofessional, and verbally attacking communication towards me. warning: please select another hotel- Lynn Bear exemplified the worst customer service experience ever!!!! Follow up: I was informed that Lynn Bear is the owner! This makes the situation much worse! She acted out In such a RUDE, RACIAL manner in front of her staff and other guest! It makes sense now why she stated to me during her loud, racial argument that I could contact the GM if I wanted to. Shame on Lynn for being a horrible example at approximately 60 plus years old in front of her staff. I will post on every social media platform to inform others about the verbal attack that was forged upon me by the owner of The Pad in Silverthorn, CO. DO NOT STAY AT THIS Lodging if you ever visit CO!

Chris M.

Yelp
I'm leaving this review so people understand what they are booking, the pad has very choice pictures and show rooms that are not what you'll get. The room we walked into measured roughly 10 feet by 10 feet. There was also a large brown stain on the center of the bed. THIS IS A HOSTEL NOT EVEN CLOSE TO A HOTEL. Also, after we decided to leave and lose our $120 we immediately ran into another couple with their young children who had the same exact situation and the hotel would not refund them as well. I feel the lack of honest photos is intentional so people will book their rooms but is also very dishonest.

Yelp
I stayed at the PAD with my teenage daughter for one week. It was a ski trip planned much too late but I did not give up trying to find a place that I could afford. I continued to perform an online search and luck prevailed. I found the PAD website and booked a week long stay. I was never so pleased with a such quick travel plans . For starters, the location is incredibly convenient to a number of ski resorts. I was so happy when I walked into the PAD for the first time as it was so open, bright with wall to wall windows that provided beautiful views from just about every angle. All the staff at the front desk were charming, gracious, helpful and friendly. The design of the building was purposeful as to promote the ease of engaging with people and meeting new friends; a perfect kitchen in every way, large areas to eat, to just kick back, to play games, a great bar and a large hot tub on the third floor with beautiful scenery. The owners were both wonderful hosts and I had the pleasure to engage with them on several occasions. I encourage new visitors to talk to them about their vision and their plans that made the PAD a reality . It is a great entrepreneurial story and I can't wait to return soon.

Yelp
Cool new bar located in the Pod hotel / hostel. Attentive and friendly bartenders with a good selection of reasonably priced drinks. Restaurant / Food Truck coming soon. Another great addition to growing Silverthorne. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Yelp
Amazing place to stay! Stayed in a private room and felt like a brand new hotel. Great staff and fun live music at the bar. Would definitely stay here again. Also outdoor hot tub! Awesome.

Yelp
Rude staff and then they wonder why they are going bankrupt. I've literally given these people so much business and they treat me like crap only because they know that I've been homeless in the past so every time I walk in they treat me like a dog. They say I make a lot of noise in my room when there's absolutely nobody in here there's nothing going on it's 60° in here so I'm freezing I leave the goddamn door open so it can heat up in here and they say I'm making too much noise it's a hostile good God if you want privacy get a God damn room in a hotel. Wow I just want my money back so I can get the f*** out of here.

Yelp

Yelp
Such a dope spot to stay. Great location, very clean, and had all the amenities you could need. Good vibes here!

Yelp
I have stayed at a handful of hostels, but none in the US. This hostel/hotel is amazing! Super clean and very nice with a great location right in Silverthorne for cheaper than a hotel. They have a full kitchen that is open to use for anyone, a hot tub on the top floor, A bar in the lobby, a large turf back yard with chairs, swings, and fire pits. There is a nice walking path nearby with a bridge crossing the stream. I will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Yelp
This has been the perfect place to stay for my ski trips. I was nervous about booking a bed in a dorm style room, but every time I have stayed here so far everyone has been kind and respectful. Only two of the nights during my first stay here they were very busy with what seemed to be a bunch of high school kids, which we will just say were not quiet, but for the price it was still worth it! Every other night/time I have stayed here it has been a great experience in the dorm rooms, no complaints, so if you are debating, just do it and see for yourself! Plus bonus after a day on the mountain, it is very nice to come back and sit in the rooftop hot tub! They also have welcoming common areas to hang out (dorm room goers especially) first floor is where the tv and hang out space is by the bar, they have games and work areas on the second floor, and a sitting area inside as well as outside by the hot tub on the third floor! They provide one shower towel (can switch out for longer stays) have ear plugs at the front desk if you want some, and towels up by the hot tub for when you use it! Depending on which floor you are on the shared bathrooms are set up a little different, but I have never had an issue showering whenever I want or not having space to get ready! My only request is for those that stay often, can we get an account where we can have our agreements and info saved, and please...possibly with rewards??? Overall great hotel great price I will stay here every time I visit!

Brendan S.

Yelp
I am hesitant to review because I don't want this place to get super popular and expensive. But they deserve it. I had a great stay! good price, nice bar, friendly staff, and great vibes.

Yelp
Out exploring places in Silverthorne and came across this new spot, what an amazing discovery! Staff is so friendly and makes you feel at home. Modern feel with amazing views. The bar has great drinks with a vast menu of choices. Games you can play and TV's to watch. Will be returning to book a stay next time we are in town. Highly recommend!

Carryn B.

Yelp
We stayed at the Pad for their grand opening and it exceeded our expectations. Everything about the Pad is meticulously thought out. Their attention to detail shows in the cleanliness, the ambiance and the superb customer service. We stayed in the Deluxe room with incredible river and Mountain views. We enjoyed drinks at A-bar and relaxing in the hot tub. Thank you for making our getaway perfect! I can't say enough good things about this new hotel. Highly recommend.

Connie T.

Yelp
Great location, like-new amenities, outdoor hot tub essential for après ski, and loved the A Bar! Warm, welcoming community. Especially pleased with the customer service. So I booked and prepaid a reservation for me and my friends through AirBnB but was the only one affected by the flight cancelations over the holidays. Rebooked my flight but it became a shorter trip. The Pad decided not did not charge me for the nights I did not stay. There was so much back and forth with AirBnB about the partial refund of my prepaid booking. I'm glad The Pad took the time to talk with AirBnB at length including after my trip ended to help resolve this issue. When I made it to The Pad, they gave me and my friends a round of drinks on them due to the stressful situation and that gesture was so kind and appreciated. My stay here was wonderful. I plan to return for future ski trips. But next time, I'm booking directly with The Pad and not through a third party.
