Allen’s most personal Southeast Asian spot, serving laap, papaya salad, and curries with Lao and Thai soul. Listed by the city’s tourism board, it’s a low-key favorite for spice lovers seeking something beyond the usual suburban lineup.

Felt the portions were a bit small compared to other restaurants. My chicken was dry. We will go back to try more food. The soup had a lot of bones in it.

I've been coming to this Thai spot for the past 5 years, and it’s consistently amazing. The Pad Sew Ew is my go-to, and it never disappoints. Today, I decided to try something new with my dad, and we got the coconut soup—it was exquisite and packed with flavor. The spring rolls were fresh and delicious as always. The staff is always so attentive and welcoming, making the experience even better. By far my favorite Thai restaurant in North Dallas. Highly recommend it to anyone craving authentic, flavorful Thai food!

Google
My wife and I frequent this place for it’s authenticity in flavor. One of our favorite Lao & Thai spots in DFW - period. Hope these pictures justify the taste here 😋

Google
Very delicious and the staff are great. I enjoy their street style minced basil dishes and their drinks as well as their other dishes. Always delicious.

Google
I really like the customer service over here. While eating, my server checks up on me pretty often to see whatever I need anything. The food is also fresh and tasty. Y'all must try basil fried rice and mango sticky rice!! Overall, nothing to complain for now. 10/10

Google
The worst Pad Thai I ever had. The noodles was sticky all together, the peanut was covered with old oil burning taste. And way too much ketchup in there. And they didn’t even put any utensil and napkins with the to go order. What a joke l, how I suppose to eat that. $15 for that and just go to the trash can. I guest I am not hungry enough to eat something like that.

Google
I’ve never had better Pad See Ew than from Bite of Lao. The sweet black sauce is unparalleled

Google
I was surprised to find this hole in the wall! Comparatively to other thai/lao places, this is more affordable. It might be because it looks a little more like a cafe than a fancy restaurant, but I'll take that! I got the tom kha and the nam khao. I would 100% recommend the tom kha! Delicious! The nam khao was okay... if you have never had it before, you might like it. I have high expectations for nam khao, so I had an unreasonable expectation for it. :)

Mike S.

Yelp
Excellent service from everyone. Also very fresh and delicious renditions of thom ka soup and pad see ew. I will be a frequent diner here.

Yelp
We have only ordered takeout from this restaurant so can't quite speak to the service if dining in, but the food is fantastic! One of my favorite Thai dishes to order is khao soi if it happens to be on the menu, and I was pretty impressed when I tried it here. They keep the curry separate from everything else for takeout, and both the flavor of the curry broth along with the texture of the crispy fried noodles that go on top was very good! My fiance got their pad kee mao which he enjoyed a lot and said it had a good amount of spice. This will definitely be a go to spot for Thai food in Allen for us!

Yelp
Food was fantastic! We loved that the ladies working here were super sweet, were really helpful with the menu and actually provided options. Loved the Fried rice and the Red Curry! We came in later on Saturday evening, and not much of a rush, which meant we could get seats pretty quickly. It is really clean too so that makes me happy haha We definitely will be returning to try out more on their menu, some more of the Laotian food, maybe?

Dale K.

Yelp
The service was disappointing overall. We ordered the mango sticky rice, and the portion was noticeably half the size and smaller than usual. When I asked the server about it, he just said "the mangoes are smaller than usual -- but still charged me the full price. That's not right. To make matters worse, my wife found a string inside the sticky rice. Completely unacceptable. For the price we paid, we expected better. Not coming back however, will be sharing this with the health department.

Yelp
Lovely Thai Restaurant nestled in North Allen. We go there regularly as we love their Thai food. Being mostly a takeout place, the ambiance is nice and there is always seating available. The kitchen is always busy, but hardly any wait for the food to be served. Portion sizes are good and so is the service. Oh yeah. It is BYOB too.

Yelp
Love their food and portions are not huge. Convenient to eat with family during weekdays and also good for take out. Faves: spring rolls; pad see wiu; lo main; cashew chicken, basil chicken

T S.

Yelp
Ordered Calamari - it was raw and slimey with about 6 fried onions dumped on top. Absolutely disgusting! AVOID! Had the pad thai - ice cold, congealed with 4 tiny pieces of chicken in the entire dish. Had the Cashew nut chicken which was also ice cold - there were exactly two half pieces of Cashew in the entire dish! It was not only ice cold but also tasteless. I have had it many times before and this dish is always so tasty. It was horrible tonight! Garlic riblets came with NO sauce and were mostly bone and gristle. the portions are TINY! I have never had such small portions at the price I paid. Called to complain and the manager said the best he can do is $20 off our next order! NO apology and shocking CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Yelp
The salad roll basically like a spring roll or summer roll but without the noodles. Flavor from the chicken was amazing in it. Dipping it into the peanut sauce it comes with and it went so well together. My new fav roll to enjoy. The basil catfish had a lot of flavor, catfish was soft inside, didn't have a fishy taste nor smell like certain places. The ladna sauce was thicker than usual. Sauce was way too much for me. But combining the toppings of pickles peppers and chili made it somewhat enjoyable. I do want to come back and try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
God the food here is great. Best outside of nyc. It is hard to find great thai in tx. But this place nailed it. Does not matter what you get. I get take out all the time so i cannot say anything about eating there. Food is amazing and prices are great. Make sure to try this. You will love it.
google avatar

Damien R.

Yelp
The pad Thai was great. I asked for extra spicy and that's what I got. Great portion size as well. HOWEVER, the crab rangoon is an absolute joke. $7 for 5 of the absolute smallest crab rangoon I've ever seen and all it tastes like is half a teaspoon of cream cheese. Never again
google avatar

Yelp
I want them to succeed, but please do better. Portion sizes and presentation are dreadful. Rarely do I feel insulted as a customer. Food is fine. Not very good, not bad either, but prices are little less than other places. Here's the issue. Really? Did someone eat these dishes before I picked them up?
google avatar

Sunny K.

Yelp
I came on mother's day with a large party. No reservations and they were still very accommodating. They are definitely kid/family friendly. With delicious foods and a fair price point, I would highly recommend this place. Btw, I ordered the green curry dish. My mom had fried rice with samon. The fried samon was a nice touch.
google avatar

Martha B.

Yelp
Food was delicious, the beef jerky was different from all other Thai places we have tried and my Thai friend said that is exactly how they use to make it back home, more of a true jerky thank fried beef. We also tried fish cake and pad see ewe, will be back to try the other dishes. Average pricing for nowadays.

Vee B.

Yelp
They didn't fill the gang nor mai container and still charged me $15.95 and the egg rolls are 1/4 the size of a regular egg roll. It's as small as my index finger.

Sarah L.

Yelp
All was great, including not using MSG that has so many negative health effects. Thank you.

Joe P.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant. Super service. Great exciting food. Good prices too. One of the best restaurants ya in Allen

Yelp
Best & authentic!! Returned many times and ordered same things Num khao & Lao Green Papaya salads are my favorite!

Yelp
Ordered take-out Pad Thai with chicken, Red Curry with vegetables, chicken pot stickers and edamame. When I got to the store the order was ready and the gentleman behind the counter was gracious. Got home and it was delicious. I could eat the Red Curry every single day. The meals were still hot when I got home, even the edamame. The flavors are spot on. Not sure why people are complaining about portion sizes unless something has changed to make the portions a reasonable size lately. We got two meals out of each main. Perhaps those people complaining would be better at an all you can eat trough. One thing that might keep me from going back is this is one of those places where they want you to add a tip when you are ordering. As a rule I avoid those places.

Yelp
3.83 stars Pad Thai is very solid 4.5 stars. Half star off for a bit of a smaller portion. Good amount of tamarind sauce, noodles cooked perfectly, crushed peanuts. Nice! Yellow curry was disappointing 2 stars. Very thin, not bright kinda muddy in flavor and color. Was hoping for more of a massaman style since it has potatoes and carrots and it just didn't deliver as a yellow or a massaman. Beef was tougher too. Crab rangoons were 5 star definitely homemade and plump with cream cheese and bits of pepper. Dipping sauce had chile in it as well nice touch.

Yelp
We came here for dinner tonight and it was the bomb dot. The waitress recommended the Kuay Jab soup....I fell in love with that soup. It is something yummy to eat on a cold day. She brought us two cups so we could split it. Also, we tried the shrimp pad kee mow and beef pad see ew. Both didn't disappoint. The veggies, meat, and noodles all were fresh! They had cute Christmas decor up for the holidays. We will be back.

Yelp
I would not recommend this place. They send me Penang curry not even a full plate with 5-6 small pieces of tofu. I called them to replace. They shared bring the curry back? 1. I asked them will you serve that to clients? They got quiet 2. So I go back & forth to drop and pick again? Update to follow. Update : July 28th I am shocked, they never returned my call. Wow They don't care about clients
google avatar

Yelp
This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the area. It is my go to food delivery item when I don't feel like cooking. Everything I've gotten there has been tasty. My favorite is the pad see ew with tofu, but their curries are great too.
google avatar

ravi c.

Yelp
Ordered takeout and it was ready in 10 minutes 2 stars: for the pad thai with tofu spice level 4 It was just plain spicy lacking in any flavor and gave my wife a heartburn 4 stars: for the basil fried rice wih chicken spicy 4 It was flavorful and good. The portions are small. Will go back to try other dishes on the menu, would definitely stay away from the pad thai though

Yelp
Egg rolls- maybe ok, pad Thai- yuck!, Lo mein- yuck! We won't be going back!!! Food looked okay but was lousy!

Kitty L.

Yelp
My family and I went shopping at the Allen Outlet on Black Friday. After we were done shopping, we went to have lunch at a nearby Thai/Lao restaurant called "A Bite of Lao'n Thai" on Stacy & Watters. OMG the food there was AMAZING. They have so many selections. We ordered Kuay Jab, Tum Zapp, TX Platter , Khao Peak Sen, Basil Pork Belly, Gang Nor Mai and Crispy Chicken Skins (the owner gave us a sample...must try) very deliciou. Everything was on point. The service was EXCELLENT and the restaurant is VERY clean. This restaurant will be our regular spot for Thai/Lao dishes. We've tried other Thai/Lao restaurants in the surrounding areas but nothing can compare to ABLT. Go try them out!. They have 2 locations (Allen and Corinth).

Yelp
Food is mostly tasty although a bit too sweet with their Pad Kee Mao. The stars off are for their poor service and minimal protein in their dishes (there was probably about 6 thin slices of chicken in the sea of noodles). I ordered takeout not spicy noodles for my kids and they made it spicy. When I told them about their mistake, they refused to make it for me to pickup and exchange but that I had to be in their restaurant before they would make it. They're already inconveniencing me for THEIR mistake and want to inconvenience me further? Completely illogical and infuriating,

Yelp
Advertised on door dash as Gluten-Free Thai Taste. I ordered the coconut shrimp and it was flat, hard, and had no shrimp in it. The portion of food was tiny for the price. Pretty gross food for what I paid. Never again.

L D.

Yelp
Ordered on DoorDash and got pad kee mow, shrimp blankets, iced tea, and Tom zap soup. My total was almost $60 for what should really be around $40 max. The foods tasted good but my complaint is for the very small portions. I've eaten in the restaurant and it's a good portion but when you order delivery, it's an extremely small container they use and they don't even fill it up... I've ordered delivery before and it was the same issue with the small serving size but I wanted to give them another chance even with the high prices. I feel like I'm being ripped off bc it's such a small portion. I hope the restaurant will stop using these tiny containers and invest in bigger ones especially for the premium pricing that customers are paying.

Alissa L.

Yelp
Best Thai/Lao food I've had! I've been feeling a little homesick and wanted some comfort food. The nam khao tastes just like how my grandma makes it! The pad see eww beef is the best I've tried in DFW. Mango sticky rice you can never go wrong with. Thank you so much!
google avatar

Yelp
On a quest to find a shop with great Chicken Red Curry. Tried A Bite of Lao and Thai. I always order without bamboo and this one did not disappoint. Spice level 2 was perfect for me. Not overpowering spice. Started with the Tom Kha Chicken, spice #2. Also a very tasty soup. My wife had the Shrimp Fresh Rolls and the Pepper Steak. Rolls were just OK and the Pepper Steak, spice #2 was too spicy/peppery for her complete enjoyment. Dining room is nothing fancy but clean. Men's room had clean fixtures but the floor needed attention. I will probably order again for take-out but other places to try.
google avatar

Eric C.

Yelp
The Khao Poon was dynamite! Excellent broth and a hardy serving (half leftover for take home). Our server was very good with the kids and she made plenty of trips to check on us even though she had many tables. Highly recommend!

Greg S.

Yelp
Only posting a negative review because I want them to get better and survive. I don't post negative reviews.... The oil used in the pad Thai was so rancid that I had to throw my meal out. Service was nice and the people were great.
google avatar

Chrissy S.

Yelp
The pad thai was a spice level 2 and it was delicious! It was a big portion size. I did not like the garlic bites, they were mostly all fat. I tried 2 and then threw the rest out.
google avatar

Colby B.

Yelp
Ordered through Door Dash. First mistake. Dasher left on porch without ringing bell (confirmed by cameras after). Potstickers were good but sauce was gross. Made our own. Pad Thai had no chicken and was seasoned with a weird sauce. Chicken soup was wrong soup. Had tomato and coconut in it (not what we ordered). Never again.
google avatar

Michael D.

Yelp
Garlicky Riblets we're a delicious start to our meal. Thai Style Green Papaya Salad #3 with Peanuts was very sweet to begin with, so we asked for additional Limes and that made the salad dressing more balanced. #3 Thai Hot was consistent with other Thai/Lao Restaurant we've enjoyed. The Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) #3 Thai Hot with Shrimp was absolutely delicious with a perfect balance of flavors and a garlic finish. The Shrimp we're perfectly cooked and succulent. All in all it was a good experience and I ordered the Beef and Pork Lao Jerky and Lao Sausage to go, so more to follow.
google avatar

Noah C.

Yelp
The food here was good, but the portions were very small. The service was great and there are no complaints about that. But the food I feel like was small for what the price is. My friend ordered the catfish and only had a few pieces. Similarly, I ordered the squid, and got a few tentacle slices and mostly vegetables.
google avatar

Madison K.

Yelp
I've ordered DoorDash from here a few times and it always comes piping hot and fresh, the yellow curry here is honestly the best around, I also love the pad Thai! I'd definitely recommend checking this place out.

Jesse Q.

Yelp
The food is great when they get it right which is 95% of the time. However, they are defensive and not customer friendly when handling complaints.

Lin M.

Yelp
The food is usually spot on and timely. Their flavors are yummy and you typically get more than your fair share for the price.
google avatar

Diana S.

Yelp
I recently became a vegetarian, so I got the Vegetable & Tofu Pad See Ew and Salad Roll. The Pad See Ew was soo delicious, and they put a lot of yummy veggies in there--healthy too! The salad rolls were alright, but it's probably just because I'm not used to eating spring rolls with no meat. It also came with peanut sauce of course, my fave.
google avatar

Manpreet G.

Yelp
Probably the best Thai food in North Allen. The food is consistently hot and good when we order take-out. Some of my favorite dishes: coconut shrimp, the pad kee mow noodles, low mein, pineapple fried rice, and tbh I've tried sooooo many items on the menu and have liked everything. When it comes to the spice level: I love spicy and I thought 3/5 spice level was perfect, I probably could have even done a 2/5.

Peter P.

Yelp
Good food. Service was cool. I enjoyed the fried rice and the apps. Just stopped for a quick bite

Angeline C.

Yelp
Great Thai food and great customer service. One of the better Thai food in McKinney and Allen area. Strongly recommended.

Yelp
We happened upon this great place by accident - and am very glad that we did. My default dish is the pepper steak. Similar to traditional pepper steak but with a pleasant twist. ( traditional red and green bell peppers and also a generous amount of fresh-ground black pepper). The Bell peppers, and also the onions are very fresh and crisp after flash- frying in the Wok. The Bell peppers and also the onion are always very bright and crisp. The meat is very fresh. A good amount of "thin" brown sauce finishes everything out. Served with their steamed rice results in a VERY satisfying meal. NOTE that when ordering they always ask for the level of spice ( hotness ) of 1-10. I like most of my food " well seasoned " but quickly found out that 2 or 3 is all that I need here. Regardless of the level of hotness (spicy) that is requested - you cannot see anything other than the Bell peppers, onions, ground pepper and the meat. I strongly recommend starting on the conservative side and go from there. My wife requests either a 0 (none) or a "1" for a spicy level which does not detract from the enjoyment of the dish. I always order a extra side of steamed rice to enjoy the "gravy" and a few left over onions & peppers. Our next favorite is the Basil fried rice w/ chicken ( or protein of your choice). As referenced above. You will be asked for "spicy level" of which the same cautions above apply. Requesting a 0 or a "1" will still result in a FANTASTIC dish. Third choice is a very solid Shrimp (or any other protein" in their green or yellow curry sauce. They are always happy to add or delete ingredients to your liking when ordering their curries. ( as always, "spicy level" applies as referenced above. The Sweet Corn Patties are a GREAT appetizer. Fantastic food at a fair price. It does not get much better than this ! !

Yelp
This place has gone downhill over the past year. The portions have gone down drastically as the prices have gone way up. The last 3 or 4 times we have ordered pick up from them, there has always been something wrong or missing. They now upcharge for every tiny thing which never happened before. I paid the $2 for extra broccoli, I got 3 tiny pieces and my wife got 4. Not worth it! A side soup went from $8 to $18 with all their up charges. I do not suggest to anyone to order from them. Very disappointed and will never order from them again.
google avatar

Tanya W.

Yelp
Over priced and extremely small portions. I ordered the larb chicken- half the order was nothing but lettuce, barely any chicken. Would not recommend

Yelp
First time in here today. Dinned in with my toddler and ordered tons of food. I love thai food and I I didn't get pictures of everything because my family was hungry! Service was good, this is a small place and limited seating especially now with covid only 3 tables of 4 ppl from what I saw. I used the restroom and it was a bit dirty and sticky floor. Saw toilet cleaner drips on floor and on a rag that they had the cleaner on . So cleanliness of the restroom could be majorly improved However the freshness and quality of the food was great! Ordered shrimp and veggie spring rolls Papaya salad level 2 of spicy and that was delicious Pad chicken pad Thai not spicy and delicious Basil stir fried beef -loved it Thai iced tea - yummy Sticky rice n mango - brought home
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place! We eat here all the time and we are never disappointed! The inside is very well kept, a nice small clean space. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The first thing I ever got was the pad Kee mow with tofu, and I was hooked. The flavor was so good, noodles cooked perfectly and the tofu was delicious! I got level 3 spicy, and that is pretty hot! I love spice and can handle some pretty hot foods. They are not messing around with their spice here! My husband doesn't like spicy so he always gets 1 or 0 spice level. I have also got the cashew tofu, sesame tofu, and both were so good. I love that there is so much on the menu that I love, I always want to try something new! My husband loves their curries, especially the sweet ones. He gets the chicken and really enjoys it! Their rolls, crab Rangoons, and other apps are so delicious too. We tried their shrimp rolls recently, and they were so delicious, I'll definitely be ordering again! I love having a great local business that makes quality, delicious food! We probably eat here at least twice a month, and it's money well spent!

Yelp
Good quality. Consistent. Where else can you find this kind of experience? Highly recommend.
