A+ Burger

Their signature A+ burger is amazing. Got it medium without cheese and it was cooked perfectly. All the ingredients are fresh and crisp. The bun was buttery and soft. Bacon and lettuce added a bit of crunch and the eggplant just took it to another level. If anything, maybe the burger was too full, but I think that’s great if the ingredients are high quality which they are. Definitely also give the green bean fries a try! It’s definitely a more premium burger, but I’m totally willing to keep paying for it if it’s consistently this good. Will be back to try other menu items. Outdoor patio is cute but music was just a bit loud. Don’t think there’s dedicated parking but street parking is available.

Delicious turkey burger, subbed Swiss for mozzarella. It’s hard to find a turkey burger and this was yummy. Fries were also really tasty. Partner got a fried onion ring burger that looked and smelled amazing as well

Finally tried the A+ burger. My family tried A1, A+, Korean BBQ, and fish burger. Korean BBQ was really juicy literally, dropping lots of liquid but it was yummy. The fish burger was great.

You have to try the A+ burger. I never had fried eggplant, but it works!!! This burger is so good, I finished it and forgot to take a picture of it. Fries are extra, but you can get all the pickles you want.

Ordered the California burger and garlic fries (1st pic) and the A+ burger. I'm not the biggest eggplant guy but it worked well on the A+ burger, it had a lot of good flavor and was very juicy/large. My only complaint is that I wish the patty was a little larger but I still found myself full! My gf very much enjoyed the California burger, said it was very very good and her favorite parts were the bacon and avocado. The garlic fries were very tasty and had the perfect amount of toppings/was a good consistency. My total was ~$35 I wanna say, so a little pricy but good! Also, we took the food to go but the outside seating is very nice at night.

Daughter Stephanie & I stopped at A+ Burger after a few errands. Our first time eating there we was not disappointed. I ordered a Cheddar Cheese Burger w/Sweet Potato Fries & Root Beer my daughter ordered Salmon Burger w/Onion Rings & Coke. Everything is fresh & delicious at a reasonable price. I will be going back.

Burgers are put together well. I tried just a basic single cheeseburger with mayo, bacon, lettuce, tomato and onion. Pretty satisfying even though ti was over cooked just a little. I wouldn't hold it against them. I do absolutely love their French Fries. Best fries I've had in a long time. Service was great and got my order quick. Outdoor seating was covered from elements and clean. I will for sure go again & test out more of the menu.

Do you always order the same pizza every time, or do you sometimes go wild and try different toppings? I am a big fan of Barney's one of which is in walking distance from my home. There are reasons that comparisons are odious. Both of these restaurants make wonderful hamburgers. I'm not going to try to name one or the other the GOAT. Not only is the food wonderful at both restaurants, but the service is also outstanding. Barney's definitely is a different experience than A+. If the weather is nice and you sit outside it really doesn't make a difference. I've only sat inside at A+ once so please look at other reviews for that information.

This place is alright, the quantity is there but taste wise ain't it. The fries were amazing but for $5 for less than 20 pieces is daylight robbery. Come here if you want to be full. On the other hand, if you're craving a burger for a taste then you can go elsewhere. Yes I'm pretty salty because how can a burger feel and taste cold after being "cooked".

I've been ordering a LOT of Uber Eats lately but that's another story. Anyhoo, ordered from A+ last night -and as a vegetarian/pescatarian, it's nice to have options when you want a good burger. I ordered the Impossible burger with cheese and the onion rings. Oh mylanta! The onion rings were super crispy (a definite plus) and came with a side of creamy ranch for dipping. The portion size of the burger surprised me- it was big for me so I ate half. I'll demolish the rest today. Very tasty- I'd definitely order from here again. No pictures of the mass destruction I created- next time.

This place is great except........what is up with their fries' portion? Ordered a burger and bought $8 Chilli cheese fries and they gave me less than 13 pieces of fries? I just spent $28 on some burger and an order of fries. Potatoes aren't THAT expensive, let's be real. We come here often for fries only and they give us a whole box. This was the first time we ordered it with a burger and they decided to just add it as a "side" to a burger. We went back but it seems like that's the norm. Come on now.

On a rainy afternoon, we were craving for burgers, and lucky this location was recommended to us! Despite that they're only outdoor seating, and their electric heaters don't work, the burgers truly lived up their A+ name! The A+ burger was packed with a lot of flavors and the California burger was more like your standard burger. The price of the burger was definitely worth it! The size, the texture, the flavor everything came together really deliciously; super affordable as well! I would definitely come back again to try their other burgers; they had a Korean fusion one (Korean BBQ Burger), which sounds interesting! I love how they support local bakers as well; they had yummy delicious for sale, but I was too full to order. If you can't drive to this location, they also partner with UberEats, so you can get your burgers and fries delivered!

Always love A+ Burger! The food is great! They can accommodate a big group too our friends love to meetup all the time there. Everything I've tried has been good. Friendly staff too.

Food excellent 5/5 i didn't really get s chance to order my own burger because I just grabbed something for my daughter before taking her to her friends house. Ordered kids cheeseburger w/fries coke, chocolate milkshake. The chocolate milkshake was so good i sent her back in to grab me a strawberry milkshake also very good. Best milkshakes I've had in a long time. The kind of milkshakes you'd get going to an old school diner or an ice cream shop!!! Thick and very flavorful not diluted down with milk.... Fries are very crispy freshly fried and very tasty... i did catch a hit of bacon flavor tho so not sure if they're fried in the same grease.... If vegan or halal you should question that??? I grabbed a bite.... Ok 3 bites of my daughters burger. Meat is super fresh , definitely not frozen patties most restaurants get from a restaurant supply store. These are homemade hand formed patties in the meat is fresh and good does not taste like it. Had any hormones or antibiotics added to it it was amazing the toppings were really good super fresh produce wasn't wilted and soggy. The cheese was real cheddar cheese not that American cheese crap . Definitely coming back to get my own food they have so many variety of different burgers, chicken sandwiches, Asian inspired flavors, and rice bowls. They have some pretty good sides as well.. and don't forget to get a milkshake!!!! sidenote my daughter spilled all over the fries because the lid didn't stay on very well and got them all soggy and coke flavored... careful with your soft drinks.

I ordered the A+ Burger (4 Stars) The beef was good size and cooked perfectly to order, medium. The Jack Daniel's Honey bourbon sauce was faint, but there was a slight sweetness. The bacon was good quality and add some need crunchy texture. The cheese was the right amount and worked with the rest of the ingredients. The fried eggplant was a little tuff so it was hard to bite through. Not sure if it elevated the burger. I think it would be fine without. The rest of the veggies were all fresh. Loved the fresh baked bun. Good stuff! Until next time... Order with mustard and no eggplant.

The food is excellent! Lots of choices and they have good customer service. They don't take cash, but, I'm cool with that. Fish sandwich is SMACKIN!!!!!!!!!!

My go-to burger joint when I'm in this part of town!! Impressive variety of options for fries, non-burger and vegan. I've only done takeout from here, it's always on time, correct, and thoughtfully packed. The ambiance looks inviting; outside, there's smaller tables tucked into slatted alcoves that give shade and privacy to an otherwise open patio.

This place is a find. Do yourself a favor and go have a Crispy Onion BBQ burger and Fries today. You will thank me later, I promise. One of the best burgers and fries in the Bay Area at any price. Super friendly folks behind the counter. Matt says you have to try this place out.

I rarely use Yelp to write reviews but this one is for a good reason. In light of hearing that rocket burger has ripped off A+, I think it's best for me to give my flowers to this businesss. It has been half a year since I've been because I barely go to this part of the bay (BART prices in this economy?! ) and scheduling conflicts in the times I'm nearby, but the last time I went here, I remember tasting the love and care put into the meal I had and I wanna share my experiences. I had just gotten off a grueling dance workshop at destiny arts nearby and thought I should support my friend's family business. Decided to try the bulgogi burger and fries even though the many options were screaming at me to pick them. That first bite was the juiciest bite I've had and I still remember it even today. The balance of sweet and savory was right for me. Granted, it was a lil messy to eat but when something smacks that hard, who cares?? Fries was also really crispy and tasted fresh, which is also a plus. Food-wise, that was an...A+ for me ahaaaaaa The place had some outdoor seating, which was nice and it was relatively spacious and I needed some fresh air. Ambience wise, it felt a lil cozy for me. I also appreciate how clean and up kept it was there, like I don't have to worry about slipping on grease or stare at a used napkin on the floor. A+ deserves all the love and it's flowers after hearing about the rip off that opened down south. When you talk about how a food is delicious, love and integrity should be a part of that conversation and I can TASTE the homemade love put into my meal. These intangibles cannot be codified and written into a piece of paper for one to just set up shop elsewhere and expect the same result. A food that lacks soul and integrity is imo, slightly worse than food that is disgusting. A+ is everything that knock off desires to be, and I wish the best and more customers for my friend's family who put their blood sweat and tears into running this place. It's time for me to pay another visit soon and I'm looking forward to do so with some friends

The A+ Burger was decent, but it didn't quite live up to the expectations I have for a truly satisfying burger experience. The patty, while adequately cooked, lacked that juicy, flavorful punch that sets exceptional burgers apart. It was a bit on the dry side, and the seasoning was rather mild, missing the bold, savory taste I usually crave. The toppings, including lettuce, tomato, and cheese, were fresh and standard, but nothing exceptional. Despite its shortcomings, the okay burger was filling, and the portion size was generous. It served its purpose as a quick and satisfying meal, but it didn't leave a lasting impression. If you're looking for a simple, no-frills burger, it might do the job, but if you're seeking an outstanding burger experience, you may want to explore other options.

I forgot what ordered but I went with my brother and man, does the name speak for itself, the burgers are an A+! Nice outdoor seating is available and the staff was welcoming taboot! I want to come again and try one of everything in the menu! The portion was perfect for me, not overly filling but definitely not a tiny burger by any means, would highly recommend!

In the hierarchy of burger joints, A+ falls somewhere in the middle. The burgers are decent but not great. But the service and friendliness of the employees is unmatched which made the experience even better. We came based on others telling me it's one of the best burgers in Oakland. So I had high expectations walking into A+ for the first time. We briefly glanced at the menu but the staff helped us choose a few items: A+ Burger: Angus Beef patty glazed with Jack Daniel's Honey bourbon, topped with bacon, cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato, mayo, fried eggplant & topped with sesame seeds. This was the best of the bunch. Tasty flavors with nice textures like the fried eggplant. California Burger: Angus beef, fresh avocado, cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, and ranch. This burger was very basic and needed to be dipped in the ranch for extra flavor. Spicy Chicken Sandwich: spicy chicken, provolone cheese, onion, lettuce, & spicy mayo. Not the best chicken sandwich I've had. Not bad but not great either. As I mentioned from the jump, the service and staff were amazing which brings the stars up for A+. The dining area is spacious and great for a group. But overall because the burgers being just "ok", I probably won't be back since there as much better burgers in Oakland.

I ordered a patty melt which was delicious, I was very surprised when I was charged an extra 75 cents for extra thousand island dressing. The restaurant definitely needs updating & repairing!

A+ burger is rightly named. This is my go to burger spot whenever I have the time and option for burgers. The servers here, even though they are just behind the counter, are super nice and do go above and beyond for their customers. I love that. They're so friendly and seem to genuinely enjoy helping others. There are many options to pick from, from a classic hamburger to a salmon burger or even a bulgolgi burger. I have yet to try everything on the menu but if it's your first time, I recommend trying their A+ burger first and going from there. It comes with a fried eggplant in it and it's surprisingly delicious and works very well with the patty. There are options of how you liked your patty to be cooked and the portion size is big. The fries are a separate order, but like the burgers, there are a lot of different options and combinations to choose from. This is also the only place I know of that sells fried green beans. I'm not one for greens but these are pretty good. It's limited street parking and it's only outdoor seating, so if you plan on coming here for dinner, bring a jacket. It's very cozy but no outdoor heaters in sight. The place is relatively small and easy to miss, so pay attention to your maps. A LOT of people order to go or for pick up but everything goes by quick so you're not waiting too long for your food. Highly recommend.

It was one of those days when I was craving a burger and happen to see A+ Burger on Door Dash, and having read a lot of positive reviews, I decided to see for myself. A+ burgers have a lot of different burgers, including chicken, turkey, salmon, and vegetarian. I just decided to order a regular cheeseburger (Angus beef - well done with cheddar cheese, lettuce, and tomato with thousand Island sauce) - $8.99. I also decided to order the green bean fries ($6.99) as I saw really good reviews on Door Dash. And, just for the heck of it, I also ordered a chocolate shake for desert ($6.99). My delivery came pretty fast , less than 30 minutes. The portions are huge! My burger was a lot larger than I expected, and I thought I hit the jackpot of green bean fries because there were so many of them!! My cheeseburger was pretty good. The angus beef was well done as I requested and the patty was fresh. The bun had a slightly buttered taste, lettuce was ok and the thousand island sauce wasn't too overpowering tangy and strong like in a Big Mac. I will never eat a Big Mac ever again after trying it once to see what the big deal was and regretting my decision to purchase one. Overall, it was a really tasty cheeseburger. The green bean fries, however, were the bomb. I've tasted green bean fries from other places, and they just all seemed OK, and nothing spectacular or special about them. These green bean fries were superb! They had a slight crunch, and the batter's texture and taste was excellent, not too greasy or overly fried. The fries came with ranch dressing and even without the ranch , the green bean fries were still really tasty. The chocolate shake was average. I've had really good chocolate shakes (malt ones) and poorer quality ones at other places. This one had good consistency and flavor. so, overall 4 stars

I love this place! The chicken bowl, the burgers, the green bean fries, and so much more. Fresh and flavorful options that are cooked to order. The staff is so nice and they do a great job of packing to go orders so they make it home hot and in tact. The prices are excellent for the quality of food. Inside is clean and basic with plenty of condiments. I go here more than anywhere else in the area.

I've been here twice in the last 3 months. I've gotten the same burger twice because it is that good! I get the crispy onion bbq burger. It's such a good combination of flavors. I'm drooling thinking about this burger!! Do yourself a favor and try the food here. I also had the green bean fries, chili cheese fries, and the onion rings. All were very delicious. If you order the chili fries to go, they put the chili in another container, I thought that was very thoughtful of them. The staff are nice and friendly. They have some seating options but it fills up quickly. Another thing, they do not take cash.

Had a dentist appointment in the area and haven't had lunch yet. Needed to grab some food and saw this place on yelp, soo glad I stopped by. This is definitely one of the best burger and cheese fries I had in a long time.

Drop everything that you are doing right now and go grab a burger at A+ Burger! I am NOT crazy about burgers, but we came here to try it out and sooo happy we did! They have a number of burgers/sandwiches and rice bowls to pick from. Since then I have been here a number of times and recommend it to everyone - Fried Green Beans - they are good but have had better - Korean Rice Bowl - it's good, but the reality is if you go to a burger joint - get a burger - Crispy Onion BBQ Burger - I am not a fan of BBQ burgers, because 99% of the flavor is just the BBQ sauce. NOT this place - everything is fresh and has tons of flavor - Onion Rings - a must order - Chili Cheese Fries - pretty good and I appreciate that they put the chili to the side so the fries do not get soggy They have a moderate amount of outdoor seating. Always friendly staff and the food comes out in a normal amount of time even on a busy day.

Upon my visit I was craving burgers and was in the area and stumbled upon A+ burgers. Burger was delicious a strong 8.4 in my opinion I got the A+ burger and it came with fried eggplant which worked on the burger surprisingly but I personally wouldn't get it again. The whole thing was fresh and delectable with the angus beef patty which I really enjoyed. Seating is outside but customer service was great. The crispy fries were a great touch as a side for the burger

My favorite burger place in East Bay!! I say to order the Crispy Onion BBQ burger and the Korean Bbq burger (such top tier dishes!!). My only advice is that parking is a bit difficult, since there's only street parking in that area. But, nothing wrong with walking over to A+! :)

I was in the mood for a burger, and I just wanted to try something new, so I stopped by A+ Burger to check it out. I ordered their namesake A+ Burger and an order of garlic fries, and it was ready about 10 minutes later. I generally don't care that much about presentation, but the A+ Burger and Garlic Fries were a thing of beauty. It looked exactly like what a big burger and fries should look like! The A+ Burger is very unusual in that it has a slice of fried eggplant in addition to the bacon, cheese, and beef patty. The eggplant combined with the honey bourbon gave the burger a nice chewy texture that was a bit on the sweet side. The fries were crisp and delicious, and very garlicky. There's plenty of outdoor covered patio seating (in fact, there's no indoor seating) and the staff seemed fairly friendly.

Visiting family in town and stopped by here for lunch. They have a great selection of burgers and drinks. Super friendly and fast service. The food tasted very tasty. One thing I did notice they don't accept cash, which was fine. Overall, if you're in town, stop by here, you'll enjoy it.

A+ Burger has been on my list for quite some time, and a few weeks ago, I finally had the chance to try. I picked up a turkey burger with cheddar instead of mozzarella and on a gluten-free bun. I was really surprised by the JUICINESS of the turkey. While some reviewers here mentioned that their turkey burgers were on the drier and blander side, I seemed to have the complete opposite experience. By far one of the more memorable turkey burgers I've had. While I was informed by the server that A+ uses quarter-pound patties, I felt personally that the patties were closer to 5-6 oz. Just half a burger, and I felt really satisfied. My boyfriend, as an Oakland native, also approves of A+ Burger. :)

What a delicious burger! We stopped by here on our way into Oakland for a concert. Their menu is huge and they have a lot of creative spins on the classic burger. I got the A1 burger which had a fried eggplant on it, and the combo with the beef patty was amazing. They do a lot of DoorDash orders, but our food came out in no time. They have no inside seating, but the patio area was covered and had cute lights.

Easily the best burger in the East Bay! You just know you had a good burger when you're craving more. Ended up getting the A+ burger with eggplant and honey and it worked really well. Got it medium rare and it was incredibly juicy. As an added bonus, they have garlic fries too!

YUM YUM YUM! I went for a hike at Sibley and was hungry for a burger after-- so happy I found this spot! I had the California burger and garlic fries, and wow they definitely hit the spot! Burger was huge and prepared perfectly. Fries are definitely a single person portion (if you love fries like me anyway!) Was a beautiful day to sit outside, the ambience is casual and and the service was friendly. Would definitely recommend and give them an A+ :) I will try a milkshake next time for sure!

This restaurant isn't located in the best area but we went and checked it out for ourselves anyways. The food wasnt too bad but also wasnt that wowed. My favorite would have to be the onions rings and the garlic fries. Either way, i would still come back again if i were ever in the area.

These burgers are so doggon good! I get the A+ burger + the salmon burger! Highly recommended!!! Also a lot of places don't know how to do onion rings properly! These are the best I've have recently! Rated a high 7!

Just want to update my review since it's been five years since my first visit. Their burgers are still good, but it's not nearly as good as it was. My then girlfriend, now wife, is vegan now, so we have few options for food places that can accommodate both of us, and this is one of those places (her biggest complaint, by the way, is no vegan cheese. The burgers are still good, but I really, really dislike the fries. After rereading my initial review, I decided to order the same exact thing tonight to see if the magic was still there. Also, knowing that I haven't liked their fries on any of my most recent visit, I was hoping that I'd still love the chili cheese fries as much as I did the first time. Well, the fries are still...meh, but the chili and cheese was still great, so that's good! But I really, really, don't like these fries. The chicken in the chicken sandwich was fantastic, but the bun was pretty disappointing compared to my initial review. "They don't fall apart or flatten and they didn't get soggy." This bun absolutely fell apart and got soggy. Trying to eat my chicken sandwich with extra sauce was a complete mess, and not in the fun way. I probably won't order the crispy chicken again... it's really, really good, but it doesn't play well with these buns. I've had their burgers a number of times, and they're still good. Definitely still a great spot to get a great burger (and why I only dropped the review down to 4 stars instead of 3). Tempted to drop the rating down to 3 because of how much I dislike the fries. These might be the worst fries to my taste buds. My wife doesn't have any complaints, though (aside from their lack of easily attainable vegan cheeses).

Outdoor seating, fries are A+, cheese burger was ehhh. I may be bias since I didn't order the specialty burgers. Not a burger fan to begin with lol. WHAT I ORDERED Kids cheeseburger (comes with fries) The burger was kind of dry. I like my burger mushy and it didn't have that texture. I was multitasking as well prob why I didn't have the burger as much. But the fries were A+++ I don't think I've ever review fries to this extend, it was crispy, salty, oven hot, definitely would reorder fries again. Maybe I'll even try the cheese fries next time. California burger My bf loves the CA burger, it was cooked medium rare and he says it's the best burger that he's ever had.

Great burgers, huuge portions, tasty ingredients, and friendly fun staff- this is my burger spot !!! They have interesting classic menu offers like a western and jalapeño burgers, plus dogs and great shakes. Orders of fries or rings are amply portioned and I always felt I got great value at A-1 On Telegraph just South of Alcatraz

Best burger place in Oakland. I usually order through door dash so I can't modify my burgers since they come saucy. This last time I called it in and picked up. I got the teriyaki burger with easy sauce and onion rings. Perfectly cooked and the onion rings, omg so crispy and light. When I got there the girl in the front was very busy but still was nice and accommodating as I needed some xtra napkins and such. Cute outdoor area if you choose to dine in. Street parking, recommend using the side streets and not Telegraph. Highly recommended and family friendly.

Twice now I have ordered a burger with "everything" only to be served a patty on a bun, with nothing else. I'll be driving over to Trueburger from now on.

Wonderful! The burgers here are to die for! We'd tried the A+ Burger, California Burger, and the Spicy Chicken Breast Burger. All were great! We would order them all again. The A+ burger was huge, and the eggplant was maybe too much? Just a lot of texture happening. The California burger was perfection, everything I wanted in a burger. The Chicken burger was MASSIVE, with maybe 8oz of fried chicken in it...? Maybe that's an exaggeration. But still delicious! Service was so quick! We appreciate the positive energy from the staff and chefs. The seating area was clean and maintained/bussed well. The only downside (not enough to deduct a star) is that they don't offer beer or any kind of alcohol to enjoy with your burger.

We ordered A+ Burger for delivery. The burger was no joke. I ordered the California burger with certified angus beef, fresh avocado, cheese, bacon, tomato, and lettuce. The beef was cooked to perfection, moist and the burger produce was super fresh. The burger itself was massive and challenging in a good way to bite with full jaw extension. The taste was legit! Fries and onion rings (not pictured) were crunchy, not overly greasy and tasted great. I did think while the price was up there, the food was worth it! If I were to give them a grade, definitely an A+!

Needed a quick dinner for the family! Ordered on GrubHub for pick up and the food was ready to pick up after 20 minutes which was a big plus! What we ordered: * A+ Burger -- had good flavor but there was a LOT going on * Teriyaki Burger -- was too saucy for my taste. I wish I got a regular burger * Cheeseburger * Bibimbap Bowl -- really good value here!!
