L'A Cheda

"Take a seat on the terrace overlooking the pool in a setting, steeped in romanticism. The chef has a preference for local ingredients and rigorously selects his suppliers. You will enjoy wild fish, organic Corsican meat and vegetables fresh from the permaculture garden. Attentive service and a wine list rich in pleasant surprises." - Michelin Inspector

The beautiful facility is immersed into a perfectly maintained green area which generates a great sense of peace and calm. The entire garden is very nicely designed. Suites and lodges are amid large trees and blooming hedges which keep the environment under a very refreshing natural shadow.||Our two level room was very spacious, warmly decorated with all necessary amenities to have a very comfortable stay. Fairly good AC, large bathroom with bathtub. The backyard terrace was indeed a great value added to our lodge.|Not greatly comfortable mattress, however the pillow selection helped. |The minibar wasn’t stocked up the second night.||Helpful and professional personnel, very kind however, perhaps, a bit unnatural. Just an opinion of course.|Breakfast was rich and varied with a number of high quality genuine local products. To be honest, I’d have expected a proper omelette instead of the “frittata” I got, however everything was really delicious.||The hotel, its services and hotel personnel would deserve a 5, but our experience at the restaurant wasn’t actually positive.|The service and the cuisine do not reflect neither the high quality products they have nor the very high price they charge.|The charcuterie selection was basically the same you had available for breakfast, while chestnut gnocchi were not even average. Wine list is relatively poor and overpriced. |The very gentle and professional hotel manager turned our night in a pleasant memory, though not enough to forget the poor unfriendly service and the average menu.|Nevertheless, the nice curly hair waitress deserves a special mention for her efforts and smiley attitude. ||A great spot where one could spend some days in Bonifacio, but not as good for remarkable dining experiences.

Simply amazing. Good breakfast. Amazing room, or should I say private residence. As our house was detached from others, Deep pool, where you can actually jump. Amazing staff. When we asked if can get a reservation at the popular restaurant in neighboring town, they took care of it. And one more thing, PILLOW CATALOGUE. :-) Would recommend 100%

An oasis of calm, beautiful gardens. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent chef. Room service second to none. Swimming pool lovely and area surrounding clean and tidy.|Good mini bus service to and from Bonifacio.|We discovered this amazing place after seeing the chef Lionel Lebrun on T.V. Via Stella (in Scotland) and have been several times since our discovery in 2016.

Small rooms w/quirky decor if you are into sticks & wire. Nice gardens. Tiny pool. Food is ludicrously priced and jaw droppingly expensive e.g. Fish & Chips Euro32 ! Basic pasta dish Euro24 !! Breakfast is typical continental fayre - nothing special. Reception Staff are great and very helpful. EV charging points for Tesla but no 8-pin charging points, only 2-pin. Hotel tom cat - fluffy & likes to get acquainted. Hotel dog miserable. Hotel well located to explore South of island and makes a comfortable base, but watch your wallet !

A Cheda restaurant, nestled near the charming town of Bonifacio, Corsica, is more than just a place to eat; it's a luxurious escape for the senses. The culinary experience at A Cheda is nothing short of exceptional. Their menu showcases modern interpretations of classic Corsican dishes, featuring fresh, local ingredients. (If you had specific dishes, mention them here). Expect to be surprised and delighted by every flavorful bite. The staff at A Cheda is attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. They take the time to explain the menu, recommend dishes based on your preferences, and ensure your every need is met. A Cheda is close to Bonifacio, and offers a peaceful escape. The atmosphere, is intimate, and on the evening we visited a duo were playing easy listening music with guitar accompaniment While A Cheda might be on the pricier side, the exceptional food, impeccable service, and idyllic setting make it a splurge worth taking. It's a truly unforgettable dining experience that will leave you wanting more.

The hotel is located some 2 km outside the gorgeous town of Bonifacio. It comprises a collection of rustic lodges scattered around the main building housing the reception and restaurant.||The hotel offers a free daily shuttle going to the Bonifacio marina but only two trips in the mornings with the latest return at 6pm. After that you are at the mercy of local taxis charging an exorbitant €30 each way.||There is a car park at the bottom of the complex, all spaces with covers against the blazing sun.||There is a small pool to the right of the entrance with a whirlpool tub on the side and a comfortable seated area. ||All cottages have different character, other than rather uniform-looking Speranza suites sitting separately to the main complex, with little gardens or enclosures. ||Our Superior Charme chalet was spacious and airy, with a separate lounge and bedroom. There was plenty of wardrobe and storage space around. The bed was huge and very comfortable.||There were steps and sharp edges everywhere inside the rooms so we had to be careful when moving around.||Bathrobes and slippers were provided. There was a safety box too. Tea and coffee-making facilities were available. ||WiFi signal was acceptable. TV had no English-speaking channels.||The bathroom was in three parts, with separate toilet and bath tub with jacuzzi on the other side. Water took a while to heat up despite outside temperatures in excess of 30 centigrade.||We dined at A Cheda: it was an interesting though rather pricey experience. They pride themselves on serving home-grown vegetables. The selection of Corsican wines was quite ample. ||Breakfast, at €28.50 per person, was held at the restaurant as well. It wasn’t extensive although the herbal omelettes were rather tasty.||Staff were friendly and helpful.

I stayed at A Cheda for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed my time. The hotel is located 5 minutes by car from Bonifacio and makes for an ideal location to explore the southern portion of Corsica. Parking was easy, free and ample. All rooms are surrounded by gardens which in addition to being beautiful, supply the hotel's restaurant with fresh produce. Every meal we ate at the restaurant was wonderful. I especially enjoyed the mystery menu comprised of dishes selected by the chef, all highlighting local ingredients. The staff was friendly as well, helping with small, random requests I had without hesitation. If I had to nitpick, I would say the wifi could be improved (although I personally welcomed the opportunity to disconnect) and that the Japanese style shower in my room (no walls) would probably be more practical if it simply had walls or a barrier to prevent the bathroom floor from getting wet. It didn't bother me much, just a curious choice. Those small things aside, A Cheda is a gorgeous place that offers great value. I hope to return someday!

Beautiful hotel with lots of activities in walking distance to do. Great to stroll around the city to discover lots of restaurants, local shops and activities for the whole family. Some amazing road trips within a couple hours. Overall a great experience.
