We want to try something different, this place will give that. First time trying Spainish tapas. There's three different tier prices and AYCE. Some of the orders were amazing and some were not. And everything comes with a baguette with made it very difficult to get through the menu we made it 21 out of 23 on the menu and that was the top tier. Also they offer all you can drink wine for a price.

It was a unique fine-dining style buffet, enjoyed it. Very unique for a buffet, super fast service. The items limited to one time were delicious. The rest was more basic ingredient and there was a lot of bread to eat, but enjoyed a lot. Each dish impressively turned into something that shows craftsmanship, and great service. I do wish they give more options or 1 special item options in future. Overall it was a journey and more about the fine craft than rare ingredients. The highlights were the limited ribeye. Also regular menu Gamba(shrimp with tomato), filet mignon mini bites, egg Jamon, and the dessert cake was so soft and creamy! 70$ with tip for premium menu Thought was ok value worth trying out, be ready for a lot of bread

We had a reservation on a weekday day but really not necessary as there were only a few tables. Picked the suave option for the ayce and also the drink package. Good presentation and flavors varied from good to excellent. We basically had almost every item on the list. Most were bite size except for the larger tapas. They were served 2 to 3 at a time, well timed as we finished each serving. I had 2 oz pours and sampled all their wines of 1 sparkling rose, 4 whites and 3 reds. All good. They also had sangria and beer. One of our best meals in Vegas. Very reasonable pricing for this type of meal. The only item we did not like was the cheese cake.

The ambience was thoughtfully orchestrated, the staff reflect the culture of a Basque village in their welcoming and attentive demeanor, and the food…well, that’s truly an experience…take a bite, close your eyes, and be transported to Spain. Rich, savory, full of umami, and bursting with flavor…you will want more of everything, but be so excited about the next plate hitting the table. Just make sure you save room for Basque cheesecake. We have not ordered dessert at a restaurant in about 10 years, but wanted to try this and were so glad we made the exception. It was a delightful ending to one of the best meals we’ve enjoyed in Las Vegas!

This beast is the best! I found this place while reading an article about places and desserts and this place came up with the basque cheesecake in Las Vegas. I saw that the restaurant was having a Pintxos Fiesta on Aug. 21 which was yesterday for $45 per person so I asked my husband to make reservations for us and another couple of friends. We really enjoyed the pintxos as we were able to taste and experience a wide variety of food in small packages. We felt like we were transported to Basque enjoying pintxos and sangria. Everything was very good from taste, texture and presentation of the food! I never had foie gras this good before as this one was perfectly cooked and melt in your mouth. The basque cheesecake was creamy, delicate and just simply delicious! I could just go on and on and say the same positive notes to all the little treats. We were all full and very satisfied and couldn't wait for the next pintxos Fiesta. Kudos to the chef for an amazing spread and for the staff for a great service!

Google
We came for an all you can eat special night and we tried everything they had on the special menu. The flavors were on point, even the things I hesitated to put in my mouth (liver, pate and octopus were on the menu). My favorite dishes for the night were the egg dish, the watermelon lollipops and the sliced pork. All served in one and two bite portions for this all you can eat menu. The price was a little on the high end but it was worth every penny. The quality of ingredients, care in preparation and the atmosphere and service made it all worth it.

Google
This place is absolutely delicious and the staff are very warm and friendly. We had the tasting menu which was a good amount of food that gave us a wide variety of innovative dishes as well as classics. The pintxos, sangria, desserts were all outstanding. They even do whole basque cheesecake orders if you ever need one for a special occasion. It was so soft, silky, and fluffy. The pintxos rotate fairly often and the tasting menu generally rotates along with ingredient availability and the seasons. I’m definitely going to have to come back!

EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING 😍 See captions inphotos for name of food. Do not sleep on bunuelo de hongos (mushroom fritters), alcachofas (artichokes), iberico presa (pork shoulder steak), solomillo (steak...)

Yelp
Delicious food and wonderful experience. It was quiet and not too crowded. I tried this place for the first time with my friends who came up from LA to celebrate the new year and their minds were blown from how good the food was. Miranda took good care of us throughout the night. I would especially recommend the croquetas de jamon, Waygu albondigas, Spanish octopus, and seared foie pintxos. The foie just melts in your mouth. We ordered 2 desserts - churros and crema congelada - and both were wonderful. Thanks for the great experience!

Yelp
Glad we made the drive from a Centennial for this delish spot! Service, ambiance, food, cleanliness - all awesome ! Don't miss out! My favorites were the pork, pan con tomate, albondigas and the cheesecake! We will be back.

Yelp
Stellar food, friendly staff, great vibes. Without question some of the best food I've had in Vegas. Chef Justin even came by to say hi at the end of our meal and share a bit about his story and history with the cuisine. Very cool to learn more about Spain (and get some great recommendations for next time I go visit). Already looking forward to the next time I'm in town, just so I can stop in for a meal. Fantastic!

Yelp
Service on point. Parking was easy (I can see it getting packed once Chicha San Chen is in business). A nice restaurant specializing in food from the Northern Spain region. The food was delicious, but fairly salty - I think that's just how tapas are generally with all the cheeses and meats. Definitely would pair well with a drink. My favorites would have to be the Bocata de Calamares and the Homemade Basque Cheesecake. A bit on the pricier side, so it'd be a great place for anniversaries, birthdays, or any other special occasion!

Yelp
Came in Friday evening and pretty much had the place to ourselves. The restaurant decor was nice and the service was attentive and informative. All the tapas we tried were delicious. I especially liked the octopus and meatballs. The place has lots of potential and I hope more people go to try it out! I know we'll be back :)

Mike K.

Yelp
Outstanding meal! Definitely will be a repeat visitor on our trips to Vegas. Where to start? Food was exceptional and unique. The Iberian pork was melt-in-your-mouth tender and had a unmatched flavor (imported acorn-fed pork from Spain). The octopus was soft (not chewy like so many places) with a delicate, salty sea flavor. Both of these main dishes are the kind you will not find elsewhere, and chef is clearly skilled. The tapas and pintxos were also a treat. The mushrooms had an amazing flavor and came perfectly cooked with a poached egg to add some richness. The endive salad was refreshing. On top of that, we tried almost all of the pintxos. They are very small servings - we split each dish into two bite-size halves that my wife and I shared. The best, by far, was the foie gras. Just a simple grilled piece served on toast. Fantastic, and something we can't get in California. The only drawback was parking, which was a bit of a struggle due to a boba shop in the center that had a ridiculous line of people. Just be patient and a spot will open.

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance, real authentic Spanish tapas dish. And they have unique push car service just like the dim sum. Every dish we ordered is absolutely delicious. The price is also very reasonable. Better experience than we were in Barcelona. Plus excellent service this is a hidden gem.

Yelp
A Different Beast was absolutely spectacular! Was invited to dinner by a dear friend for dinner and the food was amazing! Tapas style serving which is always fun to have small bites and then circle back to your favorites. Honestly I couldn't select a favorite, I enjoyed it all! They have a nice wine list as well as a great mimosa bar! Loved that! We started with mimosas and went to wine and both were amazing. I can't remember the servers name but she was the sweetest person and so attentive! I gave her a nice tip, she was amazing. The bus staff and the manager were so gracious too! Definitely great energy with great food! The restaurant is nice and has great seating and a bar as well which is nice. I didn't ask if they had happy hour, they are fairly new so it may be there or come down the line possibly. The bathrooms were the cleanest I've ever seen in a restaurant and I am constantly dining out. I can't wait to return!

Yelp
I had an outstanding dining experience at A Different Beast! Their tapas and pintxos selection is remarkable. The pintxos with buttered white peaches were my favorite --each bite was a delightful mix of sweet and savory. The manchego cheese with honey mango was also great, perfectly balancing rich and fruity flavors. Additionally, the Croquetas de Jamon Iberico were really good, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The service was polite and nice, making the whole evening even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to savor delicious tapas and pintxos!

Yelp
A strong 4.5 star rating!!! After visiting the Basque region, been looking for basque cuisine especially Pintxos. Another great addition at Las Vegas Chinatown, took over space that MordeoLV and Osaka Sunset. They made the place look bigger by removing the big bar in the middle of the restaurant. One minor thing- after leaving the restaurant, you will smell like cooked food- so if you have plans after dinner- you may think it over. But not a problem since we were heading home. Service is very welcoming and helpful- Will and Alex. Initially thought menu was very limited so we tried most of it. But the bring a cart with different pintxos - term for tapas eaten in Northern Spain- Basque region. Surprising the had about 10-12 pintxos you can choose and noted to have weekly rotations- which is great to hear. Some of our favorite pintxos were crab with caviar, foie gras, the traditional skewer(anchovy, olives, piquillo pepper), steak skewer, and mixed mushrooms. I think we practically tried everything in the love. For the tapas- Really loved the croquette, brava patatas is excellent, and mushroom dish was amazing. Tried all plate dish and I would recommend both the octopus and steak dish. The clam rice dish was ok- a little salty for us. They have a selection of wines and sangria but loved the off menu red wine with Mexican Coke. They do have Txacoli. We celebrate a friend's birthday and they gave us a scope of lemon bar ice cream with a candle. Tried all the desserts- they were good but we like churros the best. The basque cheesecake is more egg tart like not similar to LaVina is San Sebastián. The cream Catalan was demolished by my son. Highly recommend this tapas/pintxos restaurant. Can't wait to try other rotation pintxos and hope they continue to add on to the menu. Best of luck!!!!

Yelp
1000 starts if I could The staffs customer service was above and beyond! William and Timo were so friendly and kind, they explained everything in grave detail. Both chefs came out to greet and acknowledge us. The food was extremely exceptional and high quality. The wine selection was superb. I personally recommend Tsakolina white wine. We had 2 bottles The decor and ambiance was so relaxing yet romantic great for a date or girls night. Do yourself a favor and come to check this amazing restaurant out

Yelp
Having spent a great vacation last year eating my way through Bilbao, San Sebastián and Barcelona, I came back to Vegas wondering when I was ever going to get pintxos again. When I saw the sign for ABD go up, i kept reminding myself that this was going to be a must-try for me. After months of waiting, ADB finally opened and I finally got my chance to try this place out. It did not disappoint. The pintxos are authentic to what I remember from last year. That first bite brought me back to the bars of Bilbao and those nights hopping from one to another - trying out every possible pintxo we could. I wish every foodie gets a chance to visit Bilbao and San Sebastián. But if you're in Vegas, you have the next best thing. We did the tasting menu. But next time, yes, I'll be back again soon ... just the pintxos will do. And one last thing, they have a killer wine list. A lot of Spanish wines that most places don't carry, especially those from northern Spain. Ps. Owners said the tasting menu changes almost weekly, depending on the fresh ingredients available.

Yelp
This restaurant opened last month so we decided to book a reservation and check it out. A special thank you to Alex for answering all my questions concerning the food and thank you to Kat for making some of the best Basque food I've had since my trip to Spain. 100% Acorn fed Iberico Presa - This is "must have" when visiting ADB for the first time. Cooked to perfection with Spanish chorizo, artichoke, and green grapes. Honestly my #1 pick of the night. Clam Arroz - The texture of the rice is excellent and the flavor from the clams make this a unique experience. I will definitely order this dish again. #3 pick of the night. Calamari Sandwich - Another dish you MUST try! The Portuguese sweet bread is excellent and compliments the chive aioli. The calamari is fresh and crunchy. Octopus Bomba - The filling is delicate and flavorful. I would suggest you order this if you like Octopus, but refrain from ordering it if you're on the fence. Croquettas de jamon - Yes, this is legitimately how they are in Spain. Absolutely order this dish as a starter. Potatas Bravas - The potato is exceptionally delicate; how do they make these so soft on the inside? I really enjoyed the hint of seasoning on the crunchy outside and the fluffy delicate and delicious inside. The chorizo bits add a lot of flavor, but don't expect the flavors to hit your tastebuds and blow you away. This is a minimal ingredient dish, and it tastes great, but it's all about the texture for this plate. Churros con Chocolate - Excellent! Another must order after dinner. The churro sticks are fresh off the fryer and the rich chocolate dip really ties it all together. The attention to detail and the unique mix of flavors is something you have to experience personally; my yelp review and limited vocabulary prevent me from accurately describing how the food tastes. Support your local business and check this place out. The food is excellent, and the staff is great.

Yelp
Had their tasting menu and had a great time. Good selection of dishes with unique tastes across all of the dishes. My favorites were the raw scallop topped with caviar, wild mushrooms, jamon croquettes and sous vide octopus. Worth the money for sure and had great service as well.

Yelp
Ate here recently and have some constructive feedback. The food was okay and the service was excellent. However, the portions were tiny and my group spent a lot of money here. We ordered pretty much everything on the menu that wasn't primarily bread and spent over $300 and still left hungry (party of 4, no drinks). For the price, the atmosphere in the restaurant had no vibe. The lights were way too bright (like how they'd be set during after-hours cleaning) and for the price, just felt totally incongruent. Upon entering the restaurant, rather than the smell of olive oil or delicious food, the whole restaurant smelled strongly of synthetic grape bathroom cleaner--incredibly off putting. Notably, the charcuterie was ridiculous--for a Spanish restaurant, it was not a beautiful and elaborate board as might be expected but some weird tiny plate served atop a wine glass. It had a shred of jamon and was mostly walnuts. Also, some of the dishes (like the duck) did not come out very hot. Would not return based on the tiny portions, complete lack of any kind of vibe, and the weird synthetic smell that permeated the restaurant. That said, these are fixable problems and hopefully will be rectified.

Yelp
My wife and I celebrated our 31st Wedding tonight at ADB. I'm Basque and am always looking for a place that serves tapas and pintxos. ADB didn't disappoint as everything was excellent and reminded me of being in San Sebastián. A must try!

Yelp
We loved the food and service here last night. We got the tasting menu which was excellent and very reasonable! The server(s) explained each of the 10 courses as they came out. Didn't feel rushed or anything the timing of each dish was great. I like the glass wine cellar, too. The mushroom dish and the constini with Iberico were our favs

Yelp
This Spanish tapas place specializes in northern Spanish cuisine. The unique twist here is the dim sum carts with pintxos, or small snacks. The service was awesome and super helpful in guiding us through the ordering process and recommending dishes. As we were a big group of "boys," we pretty much tried almost everything on the menu, and it was all delicious. Definitely coming back to check out what seasonal menu items they have. Ambiance - 5 stars Service - 5 Stars Food - 5 Stars

Yelp
Excellent offerings that delighted the taste buds & the eyes! Our party of four had a Thursday night dinner & we loved the pintxos variety for their delightful tastes, presentation, originality -- had the liver, calamares, salmon, egg, squid, & all others offered that night. The pork & the octopus entrees were well do made, with the right balancing of the ingredients. I know I savored every single bite & wanted the moments to last as long as possible.. Everything showed the care in the way they weee prepared. They managed to bring an elegance to food -- kudos to the chef & support staff. The red Sangria was also perfect (I'm not really into punch-like drinks but theirs was excellent). Overall, it was a great dining experience -- food, ambiance, service.

Yelp
I'm a tapas fan and happy to see a Spanish tapas place open in the dominant Asian-food Spring Mountain Road. The interior was true to the food with Spanish tiles and accents. We had the Calamari Sandwich, Wild Mushrooms and Octopus. They also have a cart that's similar to Chinese dim sum carts but with Spanish tapas dishes that change daily. Service was fast and friendly.

Yelp
A Different Beast (ADB) is the perfect name for this restaurant. A Spanish tapas restaurant with a dim sum-style cart that supplements the menu, which is quite short (but also, not overwhelming.). Each dish we tasted was simple but well prepared and flavorful. Service was wonderful. The highlight for me were the desserts...the cheesecake and the cream catalana were delightful. I would go back just for that! Fun place for a group of friends that want something....a little different or a date night to impress. Definitely worth a try.

Yelp
A new Gem!! We visited A Different beast on a Friday night with friends so we were a party of 4 and it was perfect! The ambience is very nice and the service superb throughout our experience. I started with the red sagria...delicious!! They poured it table-side which was fun. They have an interesting menu of Spanish inspired tapas and they also bring around a cart of additional tapas to try. We tried a bit of everything- fresh, delicious and superbly presented!! Highly recommend!! We will be going back soon!!

Yelp
A lot to cover but if one reads the review from "JG M" somewhere below, it's a pretty accurate presentation of this restaurant. However to clarify the details of our own experience, we felt the food was all excellent with the exception of the patatas bravas and the churros. The staff were friendly and helpful and unlike some, I thought most of the items were fair takes on Spanish cuisine. I understand everyone tries to do their own version and interpretation of traditional dishes and I felt that overall they were within the boundaries of what would be reasonable while still being recognizably traditional. The major issue for us was the price. Honestly, most places these days are overpriced but this place is just beyond that. In my opinion, most items were close to about 50% more than they should have been. A smallish tentacle of octopus and a few small potatoes.. $30. Come on. 2 one bite ham croquetas with a sliver of ham on top... $13. And while the menu certainly lists jamon iberico, there is no specification of what quality jamon. It certainly isn't black label de bellota (there are white, green, red, black labels and the diets range from commercial feed to acorns, or bellota). We had no drinks and no desserts (we were given a free order of churros) and for 2 people, it was $154 before tip and we left... not hungry. A dessert and a couple of basic beverages and we would be at $200 for two people... more if we really stuffed ourselves. Bottom line, we loved almost everything we had and the staff were all excellent. The menu is small but interesting and certainly promising for a return to see what they rotate in and out. Problem is, the price is just too high even beyond today's absurd overpriced environment where 90 percent (not 100% for sure) of restaurants are just cranking prices into the stratosphere. My prediction sadly is eventually this place won't last because it seems to me that at the prices, they will get people in and even if they love it, like we did, the return rate at those prices just won't be enough and over time that will dry up the customer base. Maybe I am wrong, but it seems like when customers like us who love Spanish food, enjoyed themselves while dining there, go out to eat regularly and can afford to go to higher end spots don't expect to return over the pricing, that won't augur well overall. Would we return? Maybe but the pricing is the major block despite enjoying it.

Yelp
Decided to try a new place on Spring Mtn just for a change of pace and happened upon ADB. Outstanding experience overall, from service to decor, and of course, the food! Some favorites: Spanish Octopus - tender, lovely sauce, potatoes surprisingly shine on their own. Patatas bravas - crispy and soft inside, chorizo a nice complement to each textured bite. Octopus bomba - delicious croquette, although I tend to prefer octopus straight up. Pan con tomate with sardines - just a nice staple food from that style, always a comfort. Various pintxas we tried were all good, enjoyed the Brie, bay scallops, octopus tapenade. The custard dessert with lemon curd was quite nice, as were the churros. Neither is a sugar bomb and nice layered flavors. Will definitely return, a nice addition to the ever growing list of off-strip gems!

Yelp
Really wanted to love that place, but I think there's still some work to be done. I would nevertheless encourage people to give the place a try, especially as they continue to improve on their menu. Pros: I appreciate the attempt to introduce Basque-esque cuisine to LV, I loved the ambiance of the place which is very thoroughly designed and feels welcoming. The service was top-notch with very friendly and attentive staff. Cons: They present just 4 choices of cold pintxos, 3 of which are similar in toppings, not a great variety to begin with. Then another 4 choices of hot pintxos, all of which were also served as cold pintxos (low freshness/soggy/served cold). They can benefit from using a higher quality bread as base and provide greater variety. Changing the items weekly is not a substitute for variety. For a Basque-esque restaurant, I would have appreciated some Cider on their cocktail list or other Basque staples. Their Kalimotxos were inconsistent across our several rounds which were all mixed differently (wine/soda ratios). Their take on staples such as Patatas Bravas did not work too well for us. We appreciate the effort to present that twist on the dish nevertheless and admit that this take might be due to our personal preferences (perhaps offer both a traditional and the twist?). Though we were there for the Pintxos, the lack of options had us order a duck main course, which we sadly sent back (too rubbery/gamey/poorly cooked). We found the price not to be on par with the quality of the meal. Though price will certainly be justified should quality and variety improve over time. A clientele that will appreciate Basque cuisine will be willing to pay those prices and higher but will expect a much greater standard of dining. I hope my comments are encouraging, because I would love to visit again soon under better circumstances.

Yelp
Amazing food and an amazing reflection of the Basque Country cuisine. We stumbled upon this place and would HIGHLY recommend. Fantastic service and amazing flavors!! We even met one of the Chefs - Cat!!!

Yelp
A Different Beast is a culinary gem! Every dish we had was bursting with flavor. Justin and Kat, the main chefs, have crafted an incredible menu that doesn't disappoint. Miranda, our server, provided excellent customer service, making our experience even more delightful. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving delicious tapas and top-notch service!

Yelp
A bit expensive, but otherwise an amazing spot. The sangria tableside is fun as are the entrees and apps and the cart they bring around. Full Japanese toilets in the bathrooms are an awesome touch as well. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Tried this place tonight and it did not disappoint! We couldn't help ordering way too much food - everything tasted so good we had to try it. The pinxtos were perfect and so varied in flavor and appearance, the patatas bravas were the perfect texture, the iberico ham dishes perfectly put together; everything was delicious! I could keep illustrating the food but then I would just be naming their whole menu... On top of that, the service was just right. They made sure you were never waiting for anything you wanted, but no one was overbearing in the slightest. Super polite team that was just the right amount of professional and personable.

Yelp
Excellent service, good was delicious and the music choices were top notch in my opinion. I love Spanish tapas and every bite was fabulous. Will be back.

Yelp
We were fortunate enough to try the tasting menu at A Different Beast, which was so spectacular in every which way. From the service to the food to the ambiance--everything was amazing. The wine pairings were incredibly spot on and enhanced the flavors of each bite. The wine is not to be slept on. Especially w the servers being so knowledgeable about each wine and the notes we could expect and how it would pair w each bite. My absolute favorite was the pintxos with the macerated white strawberries and goats cheese, again can't emphasize enough how amazing the wine pairing was. The octopus also is a MUST. Extremely tender and the flavors were just out of this world. Endive salad was the perfect bite of freshness amongst all the rich and decadent plates. We were absolutely stuffed towards the end but I could NOT help but finish the entire custard, a very healthy serving I would say. The lemon cream on top of the brûléed custard was the perfect addition of acidity. Also need to highlight the clams w chorizo! Perfect bite of saltiness and the broth was sopped up w the bread.. goodness... all in all, I cannot recommend this little oasis enough. The food and ambiance will transport you to Spain and give you a great glimpse of the food culture one could expect in Spain. I will 100% return to this restaurant to try out some of their new menu items. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE.

Yelp
Looking for authentic Spanish tapas? Keep looking, because this aint it. Yet another "fusion" restaurant trying to cash in on the latest craze. They claim to serve pinxtos, but I never saw a single toothpick, much less a proper pinxto. And their "reinvention" of patatas bravas amounted to mashed potatoes formed into tater tots and deep fried. Why? Traditional patatas bravas are an incredibly straightforward dish. Maybe they felt they needed to fancy it up to justify the high price, but that's the major failing of everything "fusion." Oh, and they didn't have jamon, the foundation of all things tapas. For shame.

Went in last night with my wife a little after 6pm for a 6:30 reservation. The restaurant was half full which is a shame. It should have been completely full. Needless to say, we were seated right away. If you've ever been to Barcelona and enjoyed any of the numerous Tapas restaurants of the region, you'll know that most of large glass displays with all the items available to view with different colored toothpicks to indicate price. ADB puts their own spin on this concept with a "dim sum" cart that comes around containing all the different tapas. Pick what you want and they stamp a ticket. Very nice! But you can also do what we did and order their 10 course tasting menu for $88 per person which hits many of the highlights off their a la carte menu. This is an amazing value considering what most other tasting menus tend to be priced at. Everything was amazing. We didn't bother to take pictures of anything because we quickly devoured each plate as it was brought to our table. Will definitely be back! Spoke with the chefs and they said they constantly change their menu to align with dishes being served in Barcelona. Looking forward to seeing what they put on their menu in the future. Highly recommend!!!!
