A Food Affair

Very very good food. Nowhere near Thai spicy but authentic Thai flavors. Great service. Lovely space. Lots of rules about how much and how little you’re required to order so that was a tad strange. But overall, highly recommend.

Great food with friendly staff. A nice wine list as well (though a bit on the more expensive side). We ordered a bottle which was served at the correct temperature. The glasses (both for sparkling and still wine) were really nice as well.

Delicious food in a beautiful, atmospheric setting. The couple running the place are clearly passionate about hospitality and Thai food. You can tell the quality of the ingredients and the skill of the preparation. Very impressive with only one in the kitchen! We were lucky to get a table without a reservation, but I would recommend making one. As others have mentioned, they ask that you have at least a starter and main course each, so go hungry - you won’t be disappointed!

Yesterday evening was our third time dining at A Food Affair and as always it didn’t disappoint! We lived a few years in Asia and now that we are back we always hunt for good Asian foo: A Food Affair makes some of the best Thai food we had in Europe. Dishes have a modern/fusion twist but all have the traditional Thai fresh and rich aromas. They are also properly spicy, the way Thai food should be (although they can definitely tailor the spice level to your liking if you ask when ordering). The atmosphere is very pleasant and cosy, with nice interior and low lights, perfect for a date night. 100% recommend and we’ll definitely be back!

Really delicious Thai food with a Belgian twist, in a cosy but fancy atmosphere. The food quality is excellent; high quality super tender chicken, smokey roasted pork belly, generous use of fancy mushrooms, perfectly buttery tender and super tasty tataki tuna,... The sauces and herbs are properly Thai; which bring the lightness of its exotic herbs and deliciousness of their curries and sauces to complement these high quality proteins. All this deliciousness does come at a price; 15 to 20 euro for starters and 27 to 44 euro for mains, and portions aren't huge. This said, 5 stars anyway, because of the quality and because of the cozy environment. (personal reminder: the pork belly was my favourite: smokey meat in very delicious sauce)

I really found the best Thai restaurant in Belgium, I can’t describe how tasty the food was, it was amazing, delicious, and very generous portions. We had an incredible experience, definitely coming back again.

Asian fusion cuisine. Good flavours and presentation but small portions. Expensive for what you get. Very cozy atmosphere. Service is good but a little slow, they really need an extra server. Definitely a must go when visiting Gent.
