A for Athens

Reviewing the hotel and restaurant experience! Staying at A for Athens was one of the highlights of our late September 2024 honeymoon!! We actually stayed at A for Athens twice during our trip and it was incredible both times. For our longer stay, we booked an Acropolis view room, and it was it was the perfect experience. Getting that view of the Parthenon and Monastiraki Square right from our room was worth the price of the room alone. The entire hotel staff were so nice and helpful, ensuring our stay had no issues. Breakfast was served on the rooftop bar/restaurant and was overflowing with great food. One of the highlights of our stay was a complimentary glass of wine on the roof after check-in! A for Athens is situated in the perfect Athens location, easy walking distance to all the major sites. Getting to the hotel was incredibly easy from both the Athens Airport and Piraeus Port, as the hotel is just steps from the Monastiraki metro station. I must give one more shoutout to the wonderful staff at A for Athens, as they saved our wedding anniversary dinner! We had dinner reservations at another restaurant that ended up falling through, and A for Athens made sure we still had the perfect evening. Even though the rooftop restaurant and bar are incredibly popular, the hostess found us a table within 10 minutes that had a perfect view of the lit-up Parthenon at night. The food and cocktails were all superb. We will certainly be staying at A for Athens every time we are in Athens in the future!

Amazing cocktails! They were very accommodating to fit us in, and my bed is to a nicer table once they had one. The concept menu is very creative, and very well mixed. Our host was great. The views are incredible. 100% worth a visit, and would totally come back to see an updated menu version. They allow outdoor smoking, and they also allow older teens. Location is excellent.

We came for the rooftop bar and it absolutely delivered. Sitting higher than the nearby rooftop spots, the view of the Acropolis and surrounding city is surreal — truly one of the best in town. The cocktails were creative and beautifully balanced, and the mixologists were both friendly and clearly passionate about their craft. The kitchen was under renovation during our visit, but the selection of tapas, snacks, and cheeses was a tasty substitute. A must-visit for drinks with a view!

Just reviewing the cocktail rooftop bar. Amazing! Great cocktails! Reasonably priced considering where it's located and very friendly attentive accommodating service! It's not big so be strategic with your timing if you don't have a reservation. We went at about 530 on a Wednesday and got a great spot, but when we were leaving around 715, there was a wait. Lovely experience!

The rooftop bar was amazing. The drinks were creative and very tasty. The mixologists behind the bar were so good ! The staff serving us were so friendly and have great recommendations. The price is quite good considering the location and service. The view of the acropolis was spectacular. We had a wonderful evening here. Definitely one to recommend

The location is excellent, just next to the metro station and right in the middle of a very lively area. However the entrance is very small and at first I was not even sure if it was a hotel. There were a lot of people going in and out because of the rooftop bar upstairs so I did feel a bit concerned about security. Solo female travellers might want to be extra cautious. The room was spacious and comfortable. I saw online reviews mentioning noise at night since the area is busy but I did not hear anything during my stay. One of the best surprises was that the shampoo and shower gel were from Korres. If there had been conditioner too it would have been perfect. Breakfast is served at another hotel which makes the process a bit complicated. You have to cross the street and walk up a set of stairs to find the restaurant. That said the view of the Acropolis from the breakfast area is a nice bonus. The food itself was average and nothing very special. I expected more local Greek dishes but there were not many. Even the olive oil only had one option. The taste was fine and it was enough to keep me full. What really stood out was the staff. I made a mistake when booking and was quite stressed about it. Rozauia from the front desk helped sort everything out and I am truly grateful for her support. She really saved me.

The stay in the hotel was amazing - the rooms were exceptionally clean, staff was so friendly and helpful! The rooftop bar is amazing - the views cannot be beat. Special shoutout to Jo, who is incredible. Will definitely be staying here on a return trip to Athens.

A rooftop bar with a great view of the city and the Parthenon. The food was good, and the drinks were really good. The had a cool themed menu and the drinks told a story. We did have a reservation for outdoor seating, however the weather wasn’t ideal so they had to move everyone inside and we did have to share a table with another couple. Otherwise, would definitely recommend checking out!
