"If you’re keen to enjoy an experience that makes you feel as though you’re eating in someone’s private house, this is the place for you. Ring the bell and you’ll be led into a large room with space for just 16 guests, each of whom is seated at impressively laid out tables adorned with ornamental crystal glassware. Supper starts at 9pm for everyone and lasts for 3 hours, during which the owner-chef, who makes regular forays into the dining room to chat with guests, conjures up a 17-course tasting menu. His culinary influences are mainly from France and Italy, although theatrical presentation and elaborately constructed dishes are also to the fore. Somewhat disguised beneath this culinary spectacle are high-quality ingredients and dishes such as veal with asparagus, smoked trout with almonds, and scallops with a delicious lemon cream. Despite its formality, the service is not lacking in personality, and if you prefer not to have make any decisions whatsoever, the best option is to go for the wine pairing option." - Michelin Inspector

Argentina: Restaurants Tucked Away in Buenos Aires

"A Fuego Fuerte, which is recommended in the MICHELIN Guide, looks like a family home from the outside but is in fact a fine-dining restaurant run by owner-chef Julio Lunghi Mazzieri in a residential district of Buenos Aires." - The MICHELIN Guide

To this day the absolute worst food experience of our lives. My review was removed by the owner it seems (as they do for all the bad reviews) so I’m adding it again to warn people. You will have better luck eating gas station sushi. I cannot comprehend how any positive reviews are on this restaurant. We have traveled to over 25 countries and tried cuisine all over the world and this is still what we refer to as the WORST food we’ve ever had. Update: I’m not at all surprised that the restaurant is trying to gaslight people and saying they have never attended the restaurant or “they must be confused”. I’m attaching photos of the worst two dishes I have ever had in my life. These haunt me. I still shudder at the thought of these. One is what I can only describe as canned shredded rabbit with wet greens on top and the other was a truffle cracker with green edible glitter. This made me hate truffle for a long time. Disgusting doesn’t begin to explain the horror of this dish. Imagine drinking straight truffle oil and you’ll come close to how horrible this dish was. I attended on Feb 18, 2023 and left a review at that time. It has since been removed. I will keep re-posting this same review to warn others of how absolutely horrendous this restaurant is. I want to be clear I go above and beyond for restaurants that are delicious and/or the ownership are kind. Neither are true in this case. The ownership is incredibly rude and do not take responsibility for their mistakes and the food is horrible. If you told me this entire meal was made from month-old garbage that would make sense. While we were at this location back in Feb of 2023 we told the waitress our cold nasty rabbit dish tasted like it had gone bad and she said “oh you don’t like rabbit?” As if this is how it should taste and we are uneducated. We both love rabbit but not when it tastes like tuna from a can. If you come to this restaurant you will absolutely regret it. I’m also including a confirmation from you for my reservation. You still want to tell me I never came to your disgusting restaurant? Try again. 💁‍♀️

Absolutely incredible. The experience is unique, exquisite and takes you to a collection of amazing flavors and textures. The cozy atmosphere creates a refined and elegant experience. The best place in Buenos Aires for a Michelin quality restaurant. Thanks Julio for the amazing night.

Incredible experience, this is not Haute Cuisine, this is pure art! You should slow down to take the 17 steps experience and just enjoy a fabulous journey. For me the best is the transition between the 17 steps, really unbelievable! Yhis place is a must!

Showed up to our reservation and the door was locked. They cancelled our reservation without email, text, etc. I waited in line for cash at Western Union to eat here because they don’t take credit card unless you select the $300 USD option. They answered my Whatapp messages while I was at the door, for 2 stars. See "UNC CODA" review below, same experience. Not a fluke. Update - 6/24/25 - Downgraded to 1 star after the owner's weaksauce response (lying about notifying us our reservation was cancelled, due to force majeure, right... hah). "Pedro Luiz Laço Marcari & Amanda Me" had the same experience for their anniversary and defensive response from owner.

It’s everything more than I expected! Since the moment I arrived, there’re just so many surprises keep coming. All the food and the presentation are just fantastic. The wine selection is right at the point and goes perfect with each dish. It’s totally an art! The service is wonderful. The atmosphere, the building itself, the surroundings, the music…… all of these is a dreamy experience. Thank you all so much for this lovely night!!! It’s definitely the best in Argentina.

From the moment we walked in, I felt welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with elegant decor that prepares you for what's to come. The real star of the show was the food. The tasting menu was a total marvel, every dish I tried was delicious, accompanied by a well-selected harmony of Argentine wines. The quality of the ingredients was clearly of the highest quality, and you could tell the work that went into the culinary techniques and attention to detail. In addition, the dishes were beautifully presented, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The staff was friendly and helpful, making sure all my needs were met throughout the entire dinner. I felt very well taken care of and valued. Congratulations to A Fuego Fuerte. We will be back and we recommend it. It's an experience with a different concept of awakening and delighting the senses.

This place has a very bad management team that should be replaced before it costs the restaurant more than a bad review. They canceled not 1 but TWO of my reservations within a week's time. First time they said it was a power issue, Okay I understand. Then they contact me directly offering other dates to rebook. I choose one of those dates to rebook and book through their website. Then they contact me again saying "sorry, the chef won't be here that day he has an event. It's not our fault it was the systems..." except their management were the ones that directly texted me that date as an option for pre-booking. This place should absolutely not be in the Michelin guide with this kind of bad management. I hope they hire some better people soon.
