"A-Fusion immediately captivates diners with its vibrant atmosphere. On the menu is an appealingly exotic blend of Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Korean flavours. On entering, you will see sushi being made to order, and as you head further in you will notice the barbecue and the dim sum and wok kitchen. Thanks to the reasonably priced à la carte menu and small portions, you can try everything. The depth of flavour of the minced pork dumplings, the spice and umami of the XO sauce, the ultra-fresh salmon topping the nigiri... This is one of Amsterdam's best Asian restaurants!" - Michelin Inspector

Must try when coming to Amsterdam! Great opportunity to try a Michelin restaurant that's not hyper fancy. So many sushi options and all tasted fresh and flavorful. Recommended ordering the tasting menu which is about 8-10 dishes decided by the chef. Overall great experience !

Decent overall dining experience. Excellent friendly and prompt service. The Bib Gourmand pre-set menu was perfect for a party of 2. Soup dumplings were the highlight in the menu, and the pancakes were a miss. This is probably a mid-range dining place in terms of ambience, pricing is based on a high-end place (€8 for a bottle of water!). Overall pretty decent dining experience.

This Asian spot in the heart of Amsterdam’s Chinatown is fantastic. The food is excellent and the service is just as good—it’s easy to see why they’ve earned nods from the Michelin Guide. We tried a few dishes and none disappointed. If you’re into meat, don’t miss their beef dishes—they’re delicious.

We loved the food! We took the set menu and every course was food from different countries in Asia! My favorite was the scallops!! Atmosphere and service were really good too, highly recommended ☺️

🍣🔥 Top-quality food and excellent service! A-Fusión exceeded expectations! The quality of the ingredients was absolutely top-notch—every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. 🍣🥢 The service was equally impressive: attentive, friendly, and professional. 👌✨ The menu offers a great variety, with options that cater to different tastes, from sushi lovers to those looking for hot dishes. 🥡🍤 The atmosphere was also pleasant, making it a perfect spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. A fantastic experience from start to finish—highly recommended!

We were really eager to try something in Chinatown, though we found the area a bit disappointing overall. However, we stumbled upon this restaurant, and it looked very promising. We didn’t have a reservation, but they managed to find us a table. We were informed that we’d need to leave after 1.5 hours, which was perfectly fine and didn’t bother us at all. The staff kindly explained the concept to us – you order several dishes, kind of like tapas, and share them. We each ordered three dishes, which was more than enough. The food was absolutely fantastic! My partner, who is originally from China, said that he hadn’t had such good Asian food in a long time. Everything was incredibly delicious, the service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. Overall, we had the best meal in Amsterdam here. Highly recommended!

I don’t like fish and this was my favorite place to have dinner in Amsterdam. The chicken and beef are amazing, try them. Service was very quickly and I’ve LOVED the food, strongly recommended.

I stumbled upon an Asian restaurant while traveling. It's been consistently recommended by Michelin every year from 2020 to 2024, and stepping inside made it clear why. The ambiance greeted me with warm lighting and a pleasant atmosphere, complemented by polite service from the waitstaff. Despite its Michelin status, prices were on par with the average in Amsterdam. I opted for half portions of 'Surf&Turf' and '24k Golden Dragon roll' sushi, as recommended by the waiter, enjoying them with delightful accompanying sauces. The total bill was 27 euros, which felt quite satisfying given the quality. Here's hoping they earn another Michelin recommendation in 2025!

Yelp
Everything we had was good. Not sure why it has so many Michelin stars, I'm not I'd say it's that level of good- unless this type of food is hard to find in Amsterdam? If you're craving Asian- go for it!

Yelp
Tasting menu Salmon tartare - Not enough dressing Japanese kani salad - the mayo dressing taste weird. Like mixed with cough medicine. Salmon gin- The sauce is really good. The salmon was complicated... Curry, sweet... Vietnamese spring roll - very crunchy, the sauce is delicious with bit of sweet and spicy. Mama Wong dumpling - Slightly spicy, typical dumpling but I think they added a spicy sweet soy sauce. Special California roll - Good. It's California roll. Dynamo roll - very creatively done with crispy thin noodle on top. Nice flavor. Tom yum Chicken stick - Very creative. Love the Tom yum saucer but the curry chicken inside the stick was quite delicious already. Scallops - good garlic flavor but on a bit salty side. Teriyaki chicken - Singapore prawns -

Yelp
I was so excited to see a Michelin Star restaurant in Amsterdam. The window is impressive Michelin Stars awarded in 2018, 2020, 2021, and 22 and a view of Sushi chefs hard at work. IMO...that's where it ends. I was able to get a table on Sunday night at 8:45. Upon arriving, we were told we could only have the table for an hour. Ok, they close at 10, I get it, but Michelin Stars are about excellent service and high quality food and in a country where I just learned that if you don't ask for the check they'll let you sit forever, so it seemed like an odd request, especially after I heard people complaining it was taking forever for their food. Ok... let's start with service. You get a menu, a piece of paper and a pencil. Check off the boxes next to the dishes and sushi you want, and someone will come by and pick up the paper. Tables are so close together that every time a server bought a dish to the table behind me or next to me, not only did they bump into my chair, one time they actually reached in front of me to pick up the order from the table next to me! No excuse me, no I'm sorry. This happened 4 different times. Now the food... honestly, absolutely nothing special. We are spoiled with really good and creative sushi in the states. The rolls we ordered were fine, nothing out of the ordinary. Dumplings were bland and a bit overcooked. Singapore Prawns were beautifully presented and I was hoping this would be the dish that wowed me, but it wasn't. I was expecting a pop of curry or even a chili garlic but neither was in the dish... just shrimp covered in some type of sauce. We didn't need the full hour they requested... we couldn't wait to get out of there.

Yelp
Definitely a place you must try. The restaurant gets quite busy. The food was very good and it's a fun vibes. Food is a bit pricy but was worth the price.

Sydny F.

Yelp
Good ambience, we were seated right away and served fairly quickly. Decent sake, decent food. Nothing special but good for a quick date night while in Amsterdam.

Jessica B.

Yelp
Fun and busy location. Need to make reservations. Had the oysters and loved each one!

Sebastian L.

Yelp
The Michelin guide got this one right. Food was fresh and delicious. Definitely coming back when I go back to Amsterdam. Services was great. The server recommendations were on point.

Yelp
My bf and I wanted to check this resto out while we were strolling along Chinatown. We just had lunch so we thought we could have a light snack. As we entered, we noticed the great vibes. We were greeted almost immediately by the wait staff and offered snacks and drinks. We ordered a couple of dishes and I can say that it didn't disappoint... it's full of flavor, the presentation was great. The ambiance of the place is great and the wait staff are really nice. I just thought it's a little pricey for a snack... the Vietnamese spring roll is about € 12 bucks which translates to € 4 bucks a piece and they're very small (about 2 bites). We also ordered TomYum chicken sticks € 12 bucks for 4 pcs. As I mentioned, it's pretty good. I've never had fried Vietnamese spring rolls. Bottom line... we enjoyed our stay, our food and would definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Amazing food, service and ambiance. Fusion Japanese. Wonderful flavors, excellent presentation.

Michelle D.

Yelp
A-Fusion offers a pleasant ambiance in a prime location. While the food took a bit longer to arrive between dishes, the delicious sushi and overall fun experience make it a worthwhile choice.

Mac S.

Yelp
Located in the Chinatown section of Amsterdam, decided to check out the restaurant after finding it on my Michelin app (Bid Gourmet). Totally enjoyed my dinner there. First of all great location, with a nice and stylish interior. Also, great service from the staff. I ended up getting a Sushi meal and it was very good. All in all, a place I would recommend if you are looking for asian food in Amsterdam.

Bill M.

Yelp
Amazing service, decor and food. We loved all of it. We really enjoyed the scallops, dumplings, lamb chops and charcoal chicken.

Anna M.

Yelp
You definitely will want to order a few plates of different things. Really great food! Would recommend the Korean BBQ beef and the Sticky Korean Chicken. Service was good and the restaurant was very fun, nice, classy and relaxing while still being energetic. Enjoyed this dinner very much!

David B.

Yelp
A great spot for sushi lovers. Great staff and a large menu made for a perfect dinner experience. Went with a few rolls that did not dissappont.

Maddie K.

Yelp
The vibes, food, and service were AMAZING! Highly recommend the sticky chicken and fried rice!

Oscar P.

Yelp
This place is permanently closed, it is boarded up and clearly has been closed for a while.

Sara B.

Yelp
I think this is supposed to be Obon? Anyway, though the spicy tuna handroll was a crunchy perfection with fresh fish and shiso, the gyoza was meh and the spicy beef dish was overcooked and so salty it burned my tongue. It's a pretty restaurant with great staff- except the host who believes she invented bitchy indifference. I hope they can do better because it used to be great.

Jim S.

Yelp
The food was delicious and service outstanding-plus great ambiance..A wide selection of choices; one better than the next. Reasonably priced.

Melizza P.

Yelp
We had an excellent experience here. We did not expect we will have our best Asian food in Amsterdam. The service was very good.

Yelp
Rarely do I ever say "wow" when I eat food. But this place. WOWWWWWW. Speechless. One of the best meals I've ever had period. We had a party of 8 at 5:30 and it got super busy by the time we finished so it's a pretty popular spot and for obvious reasons!!! There was not a single dish that wasn't gone within the minute of the waiter putting it on our table. SO DELICIOUS. Some of the stand outs were the yuzu oysters. OMG flavor heaven. The foie gras sushi!??!? Wow. The KBBQ beef chunks literally melted in our mouths. The torched lamb chops with truffle oil sauce was some of the best lamb I've ever had. Their sushi rolls and just sushi in general. INSANEEEE. The sea bass. INCREDIBLE. If you're thinking about ordering it, get it. It's worth it. Everyone at our table was in awe of the quality of the food. Everything from how quick it came out, the presentation, how perfectly everything was cooked, to the flavor profiles. Just an absolute 10/10. This is a bucket list place for me now. I gotta go back ASAP.

Yelp
Hello WaWa and team, been some time but miss the sushi here! I have been coming here for years and have never been let down. Every time is great food and fresh sushi! Great spot for team lunches and better for after closing the month dinners. I remember the first time I was walking through Amsterdam Chinatown and saw a sushi restaurant cutting up some fresh salmon which was just delivered. I told myself I will have to try their sushi and came back that evening. I usually start with a plate of sushi and order some sparkling sake "Hana Awaka" great stuff! I have sampled numerous items on the menu over the years and notably are the following: vegetable fried rice, oysters, shrimp tempura, sirloin sushi and amazingly the lychee boba! To finish the dinner try a shot of Kwei Fe lychee liquor with a fresh lychee in the shot glass...proper and strong. Dank u wel for the years of great meals. Can't wait to come back again!

Yelp
Don't eat here, read the reviews indicating that this place is a tourist trap! Not sure how the Google and Tripadvisor reviews are so high. A group of friends and i just had dinner here. The pepper chicken, pineapple fried rice, and two hand rolls were ordered. The pineapple fried rice was not fried, it was mixed. They use frozen mixed vegetables for the rice (ours were still frozen, and our server saw me spit them out). The chicken is simply battered/fried, lacked flavor, and was not pepper chicken. Two stars for heating up our frozen food so quickly! The hand rolls were not bad, and overall are hard to screw up.

Tiff T.

Yelp
Not bad, have tasted better but good service. Our friend had a bento box but she didn't like the edamame since it seemed to be not cooked as well. I had the Japanese style curry dish with veggies , I've had the best in Japan , so maybe that's why I didn't like the one here as much. I forgot what my bf had and he said it was ok. But he and I loved their Thai beer called Singha. Decent interior and atmosphere.

Flow V.

Yelp
It's too bad most reviews here are about the bubble tea. Seriously? A famous Dutch food critic gave it 9 out of 10 points and not without reason, because the food here is Amazing. It's what you could call fine chinese cuisine. The menu mostly consists of smaller dishes, but they also have some normal bigger things on the menu. We absolutely love the dim sum, the oysters in black bean sauce, the monkfish with it's delicious sauce. Service is incredibly friendly and it's one of the few places on the Zeedijk you can visit with a kid (baby, toddler) without any problems because it's pretty spacious inside. Very recommendable if you're up for some nice little Chinese snacks! Great for lunch or early dinner, before it gets busy.

Yelp
I am trying to book a dinner for 30+ people in June but can't find an email address to reach you?

Andrea S.

Yelp
I entered A-Fusion last Saturday, at around 21:30. The reservation I made at another place nearby did not quite pan out, as I expected something else when I placed my reservation. Thus, I was standing at the Nieuwmarkt-end of the Zeedijk; hungry, and in mood for something good, despite the late time. I was waiting for three more people, so I asked whether there is a possibility to get a table. As expected all was booked for the moment, but we could come back about half an hour later to get our table for 4 persons. So after a quick beertje nearby we returned, and soon we could claim our table. We ordered a bunch of different things: hot and spicy soup, miso soup, gyoza, steamed shrimp dumplings with coriander, sui kau, 4 season spring roll, duck buns, sweet and sour chicken, and some sake. The bill came down to ca. 35 euro p.p. My favorite of the evening was the duck bun, but the sake choice was probably not the right one. Overall: The service was good, the food was tasty, and I like that they are open late (there were people who came in past 11pm and got served). I would recommend reserving a table if you want to come during the super busy hours. I understand the Gault Millau mention. Next time I will try the sushi and some more of their warm appetizers.

Jens S.

Yelp
I've had better. I had worse. Too expensive (3 unimpressive Gyoza at €5.75), with a spread across the South East Asian cuisine, but apparently run by Chinese people. You could do worse. But you can certainly do better!

Marc R.

Yelp
They have some very nice dishes. Great fusion food and good service. Their system is a bit confusing and we didn't get any explanation. Since it was a bit busy we didn't ask and just ordered. We ended up with a lot of food, way too much for the two of us. So be careful with your orders, you can always order more when needed. Enjoy!

Karynne A.

Yelp
I was really craving a bubble tea while in Amsterdam and read that this place had it. Unfortunately, their "bubble tea", as described by another Yelp reviewer, has no tea and the tapioca is way over-cooked, making them huge and mushy. So, don't get the bubble tea! However, my fiancé ordered some duck "buns" - kind of a sandwich on soft bread (resembled a more "delicate" pita bread, if you will), and those were amazing. I highly recommend the duck buns.

Minah L.

Yelp
Im from the san francisco bay area, so maybe ive been spoiled, but I should have listened to the reviews on the bubble tea / boba / pearl tea. I got green milk tea with boba. Boba was gross, really bad. Not sweet, not chewy. They were old. I guess should have figured bc it want like they have a need to make fresh pearls (not enough customers for boba). I didn't think the boba would be good... But the green tea [milkshake] was disgusting. Kept taking sips thinking is get used to it... No. Wasn't cheap either, EURO 3.70. Time to try the two other boba places in Amsterdam.

Caryn B.

Yelp
I ordered what they called "honeydew milk tea" with their "boba." I use quotes because what they gave me was not tea or boba. The drink was blended on ice so it was thick and flavorless. Uh, hello? Iced tea? Not a smoothie. Thanks. The boba was.....heinous. It was so overcooked and mushy. I can't even begin to describe how unhappy I was. I was so stoked to find a pearl tea place in Amsterdam but this is not pearl tea. Haven't tried to food but it actually looked tasty. We will see if I ever make it back to try it.

Syl M.

Yelp
In the heart of Amsterdam's China Town you'll find Dim Sum heaven! Good service, modern but a bit boring interior.

Paula F.

Yelp
Got take away - surprised and impressed with the food Black pepper beef and spicy tomato fried rice were both tasty and good size portion Would order from here again and try eating in

Miko M.

Yelp
This felt like a typical Red Light District tourist trap - the service was awful and the food was expensive. You order by looking through the menu and writing down codes on a slip of paper. The dead eyed waitress's then pick up the paper and bring your food, if you are lucky. We had two dishes missing over 30 minutes of the first dishes arriving. The sushi was average.

Wesley T.

Yelp
Best asian restaurant on a street full of excelent choices. Too many food faves to call out but the lovely and likeable staff will help you choose from the great menu.

Robert R.

Yelp
Excellent menu and presentation. Both wine and tea had great quality and variety . Service was romps and polite and as represented. E have eaten in similar restaurants all over the world and this is ong the good ones. We will return.

Daniela C.

Yelp
Great food!!! We had the dragon, tempura, and unagi rolls. They were amazing. Staff was very friendly. Our server explained and helped us order our food. She even gave us some recommendations on where to go for drinks.

Susy D.

Yelp
Came here while at a conference in Amsterdam. I thought the food was completely amazing, rivaling the best I've had in London and elsewhere. It was really excellent. Service was friendly and unobtrusive too.

Todd K.

Yelp
If you want sushi and some dumplings and a drink nice small place to get a quick meal. Service was great. Sushi was very good.
