"La Bécasse aspires to greet guests with something new and exciting every time they visit. Rather than follow past recipes, the restaurant enlivens familiar ingredients with creative preparation techniques and sauces. A sojourn in France taught the chef the importance of terroir, the characteristics of the land from which sprouts the character of each ingredient. To convey the blessings of each season, the chef visits markets daily, seeking new ways to reflect Japanese terroir through French cooking." - Michelin Inspector

This was one of the best places we found while exploring Brussels, down an alleyway off of the main street. Never knew much about Lambics, and now we're Lambic converts. The staff there was so happy to educate us about the different types of Lambics, we ended up stopping here almost every night before heading back to our room. Highly Recommend

We had an incredible time at this bar! The whole place makes you feel like you’ve traveled back to medieval times—the atmosphere, the decor, and even the music were perfect. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which we really appreciated. But the best part? They had adorable cats keeping us company❤️! It made the experience even more unique and cozy. If you’re looking for a fun, immersive, and chill place to hang out, this is definitely the spot. Highly recommended!

Only noticed this place as the cats were playing outside. Decided to call in. Delighted we did. It is a lovely traditional pub. Hadn't had lambic beer before. It was very nice. Sweeter but not too sweet. The cats were friendly and entertaining. I'd happily go back when in Brussels.

A trully unique lambic bar, last one in Brussel. Usually pretty calm, with tasty brews waiting for you

Came here to try the lambic, the kriek was very good not overly sweet which I prefer! The wite lambik also delicious. The waitress and bartender were so kind, very welcoming environment. I also loved the kitty bouboulina ! Thank you!

A perfectly preserved Belgian beer hall with beautiful wood and ceramic elements with a very sweet staff, including a lovely tabby cat. The mustard served with the sausage was divine.

It is a traditional beer hall that is welcoming and comfortable. The mascot cat is a great host.

You need to go with the intention and looking for the magnificent sign showing that you have arrived. Friendly service, nice menu that even includes beer flights- rare in this type of historical pub. Tables are organized neatly for rush hour, so, arrive before the peak time and enjoy your visit.

Yelp
I think A la Becasse could maybe be better in terms of price, but maybe the beers here are more expensive than other establishments in the center due to the cool and cozy atmosphere, which is a bit reminiscent of a German beer hall (but much much smaller). For example, you could spend maybe 2-3 more euros on a beer here than one of comparable type at another, but they have an impressive beer menu. It's also not as obvious as other bars/pubs in the center, which is kinda cool. They also serve food here, which we did not try. I thought it was a fun spot, but if you're on a budget (or a student like me), it might be better to get your Belgian beer fix elsewhere.

Yelp
This place is so warm, cozy, and inviting. There is a cozy little fireplace, and I am a big fan of the family style (Think German beer fest) seating. This spot makes its own lambic, and they serve it in cool little jugs. We were hungry, so we opted for some pizza. We got 2, and it was really good. However, it was waaaaay more food than 4 of us could eat! I highly recommend it!!

Yelp
Cool looking venue that really does feel 100 years old with real candles at each table. We were told to go here to sit in a basement and drink lambic. However, I can't say our waitress was very friendly. She didn't walk us through the menu when we asked some questions when deciding which beer to order. As such, we just ordered the standard flight. The beer flight itself was pretty average...especially after now having gone to Moeder Lambic, which is one of the best beer bars I've ever been to and it's located nearby. They do have some food but it's limited to cheese and sausage to go with the beer. Overall interesting ambiance for a beer if you're in the area. However, I would recommend they go a little more above and beyond to welcome their visitors, especially since they are located in a touristy area.

Yelp
Didn't down a small old pedestrian alley behind a waffle stand, La Becasse does not disappoint with their selection of house-made Lambic. They have a beer flight, which allows you to try a wide variety of house-made options, including a Lambic and a geuze. They also do blends of these two. They have a selection of food also, including platters to complement the beer tasting. My personal favorite was the Lambic deux. The house beers are served in cute ceramic carafe. The cafe is in a beautiful historic building, with heavy wood accents, providing a cozy feel. There is a minimum 20 Euro credit card charge, so note this when you're ordering your beer. Overall, highly recommended, located near the historic Grand Place.

Yelp
This place has a very local feel. Beers on the tap were beautiful. I liked all 4 in the sampler. But 1st was my favorite. We are vegetarian, couldn't find anything on the menu. They recommended bread & cheese... which were nice as well. I would highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Such a weird little place! It had been recommended by friends, and I'm glad we went, but it was not your normal bar/pub experience. I would say this is worth checking out to see if you enjoy it. It's slightly tricky to find, but they have a sign on the sidewalk to help you spot the little alley. We went on an early Sunday afternoon following brunch and there was one other customer, and two staff members. No music, hard floors so sound echoed (not just conversation, you could hear everything when anyone went to the bathroom!), so it felt awkward having a conversation. I decided to try the Degustation Palette: sweet lambic + white lambic + kriek + bourgogne des Flandres, which was a flight of beers. It was a good way to compare several options which were very different from one another, and if you're not familiar with lambics, this would be a good way to figure out what you like. We only stayed for one round, because it was just too weird having to whisper. I'm guessing at other times of the day/week it's busier and this isn't an issue, but it did put a bit of a dampener on the visit for us.

Yelp
Wonderful restaurant just off the Grand Place. Located downstairs, it's a charming local Belgian bar/ restaurant. The waitress was very accommodating with my limited French. The beer selection, what can I say, it's Brussels.... Was impressive. The meat, cheese, and bread starters were very good.

Yelp
Nice, little gem that's bound to be intersting to both tourists and locals. Good, brown café atmosphere set in a well decorated hall with plenty of good beer options, especially geuzes and lambics. They serve both the typical beer appetizers and classic brasserie snacks.

Yelp
Good cozy pub away from Grand Place that locals go to. Nice guy serving and paying attention to the customers. I had the Kwak beer which came in a stem tube thing holder.

Yelp
The reason to go to this place are for their lambics, especially their white lambic. However, be warned, even though this is why people go there, the wait staff will make fun of you of you order them. Also, some of the sandwiches are tasty.

Yelp
Nice bar. It's down a little alley and kind of hard to find. This is mainly a beer place, they maybe have a couple small snacks but don't expect a full dinner. Beers were excellent.

Yelp
A small and old place quite hidden you shouldn't hesitate to get in. It looks warm and nice inside and the degustation palette is pretty interesting (4 different beers 5,50EUR). Sweet Lambic and White Lambic taste absolutely delicious espacially for women who might prefer sweet and cool beer with a taste of fruit. A place to go!!

Yelp
Very quiet bar!! 4 of us (bloke) went in mid pub crawl and were quite loud which I don't think was appreciated . Great for a quiet one.. Good coffee

Yelp
The beer in Belgium is spectacular, so wherever you go you're bound to find plenty of delightful and quaffable options. My wife and I were recommended La Bécasse for some lambic tastings and it turned out to be the perfect late afternoon stop. Located just west of the Grand Place, it's easy to overlook. Walking back through the narrow alley to get in was like walking into a medieval time machine. This pub has a cozy, traditional feel: lambics are served in ceramic jars, wrought iron chandeliers hang above, wooden benches and tables with an aged patina, waiters wearing brewing aprons. We had the Lambic Doux, Lambic Blanc and kriek lambic, all of which are fruity, light and refreshing. This was a nice place to escape the hustle and bustle of Brussels and enjoy some beer.

Yelp
First impressions were not so great of this place, it looked and felt more like a place to eat than to have a drink, but their beer tray of 4 tasters soon changed my mind. Each one was delicious. Although I would have liked to have stayed longer at least that saved me the awkward decision of picking one to have a full glass of!

Yelp
Went in, took a look around. It was just too hot (mid-summer) to hang around and drink - but the place was phenomenal for having been around as long as it was. Doorway is small, easy to miss as well.

Yelp
A nice bolt hole off the hectic tourist trail with fresh lambic served in the traditional crock jugs. Lots of wood, could use a bit of natural daylight but the lack of windows adds to the feeling that one is drinking in a beer grotto.

Yelp
Very nice place to taste your way through a plethora of local beers. Very friendly staff.

Yelp
Beware of a douchebag bartender. I asked a simple question of what style gueze is. He says its beer. Then, because they specialize in lambics, I ask what type of fruit is in it. He says there's no fruit in it. I looked it up for you - it's lemon. It's a sour beer. Plenty of other places to go without the attitude.
