Google
A Cleveland classic. Everything was delicious and the price is comparable to most fast food places. I would much rather support this great local eatery.

Absolutely Amazing! We got Tristan as a server and she was the sweetest! Food was fast and delicious! Will go again and recommend to all of my friends in the book club!!!

Google
Delicious sandwiches, the salads look delicious too, although I just had a delicious Muffaletta.

Sandwiches were great and plenty to eat. Make sure to try the fries they were awesome 👌 Try the 1/2 sandwich and salad.. this was my favorite ! If you are good and hungry go for the Ruben sandwich and fries. Yummmmm. I was impressed by the waitress teaching a new employee. It was great to see manners with customers. This is a great place to eat... and Eat Local. Keep up the good work everyone!

This place is pretty decent, with a lot of potential. The appetizer we had was the Reuben quesadilla which was absolutely delicious. I didn't think the quesadilla was going to hold up, but I was pleasantly surprised. For my entree, I had the Mamacita panini with a Greek side salad. The sandwich was fairly consistent and flavorful, however I asked for horseradish sauce in lieu of the cilantro mayo. This must've been confusing some how because I received a small souffle cup filled with horseradish with my sandwich instead. 🤷 The Greek salad was great but super heavy on the feta cheese, there was roughly about an inch of green showing around a huge mound of the white crumbles. As for service, I really think they don't have a need for a host and a waiter; so, given that there is ample staff and a low volume of business, there was no reason for my party to be seated without napkins or silverware. Also my silverware set only came with a butter knife and a small beach towel for a napkin. (not an actual towel, just a huge handkerchief for a napkin) At twenty bucks per person, you guys can do much better.

My wife an I had a delicious lunch on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Our 1st visit, but it will not be our last. Lots of menu choices, good service, reasonably priced. Try it, you'll like it.

Google
A great find on our trip to Cleveland for the Grammy Museum. We ate lunch here after the museum and it was excellent. My wife and I each had a side greek salad, which was a very generous size for a side salad. I had the reuben and she had the pimento cheese panini. The sandwiches were excellent and also a good size for lunch. Our server was attentive, the service was fast, the restaurant was clean, and the prices were reasonable. We'll definitely stop in on our next trip through Cleveland.

We are from out of town (Shreveport, LA) and stopped to get lunch before heading to the woods to deer hunt. We had the turkey melts with the hand battered fries and it was by far the best lunch we have ever had! If you have time make sure and stop by A La Carte!!! Extremely reasonable prices, friendly staff and very clean restaurant! We recommend to everyone!!!!

Yelp
I ordered a hillcrest chicken Caesar salad today for lunch. (See photo). It was pretty good but I have had better. The dressing was a little bit different from other chicken Caesar salads I have had at other restaurants. I called them on phone at about 10:45am and they said they were already open. So, went on to this restaurant and parked right in front of the restaurant off the street. I went inside and ordered my hillcrest chicken Caesar salad and a lemonade. I got my order to go so I could eat it at home. They got my order up pretty fast and I enjoyed my salad. Yes, I will probably come back but may buy some of there sweets that I saw like cookies or something.

Yelp
Here in town with three friends and this little place was recommended! We were all very happy with our sandwiches!! We got the Reuben on marble rye, the chicken salad on croissant and the muffuletta sandwich. The server was so sweet and helpful with any questions we had. It's a quaint little place that has a lot of seating options!!! We ended it with the salted caramel brownie with ice cream!!!! YUMMMM!!!!

Yelp
The waitress did a great job. The food was fine. However, the music was so loud it was impossible to converse without yelling. As the restaurant filled with customers, it seemed that everyone was attempting to yell over the music--and not very "meantime" music, making the situation worse. I asked for the music to be turned down and was told the owner doesn't allow them to turn the music down. I asked who is the owner and how does one get in touch with them, but those two questions were ignored.

Yelp
We were in town for a baseball tournament and decided to try out this local spot, despite the bad reviews here on Yelp. We had all had great food. The fried chicken wraps, the homemade French fries, and sandwiches were amazing. They even had lots of stuff for the picky kiddos.

Yelp
A La Carte has steadily gone downhill over the past few years. My most recent visit on 6/16 was the worst and the straw that broke the camel's back, as they say. The waitress was nowhere to be found after taking the order. When the food arrived, delivered by somebody from the kitchen, there were no utensils so I had to go find some. As for the food itself, it was very lackluster. They used stale bread and toasted it in an attempt to hide the staleness. This made it hard enough to break teeth. The sandwich that is described as "steak" was nothing more than cold cuts from the grocery store. After bringing this to the attention of another waitress, there was no attempt whatsoever to try to correct it. The attitude was more or less "Nobody made you come here to eat!" As it is, I will never return and caution everyone else to consider eating somewhere else. Part of the problem is that there are only college students working there and they don't care one bit, other than how much their tip will be. Why would anybody leave a tip? I didn't! Why would anybody eat there? I won't eat there ever again! There are other places to eat. In this case, McDonald's would have been better! Who is the owner of this so-called restaurant and where were they? I would like a response with an explanation, not an excuse, as to how you expect to stay in business with such a lack of care and attention happening. I might have been far more forgiving if they would have simply made things right with the food, instead of having an attitude problem.

Yelp
Wonderful surprise off the main drag of downtown Cleveland. Had a wonderfully fresh made southern chicken salad sandwich. Hubby loved his fried okra with pepper jelly. Lots of fun. And homemade fudge.

Yelp

Yelp
My husband and I have eaten here a few times now. Nice local lunch spot. They serve soup, salads, wraps, and sandwiches. I've had the paisley (pimento and cheese, pepper jack cheese and bacon panini) I really enjoy it. My husband has gotten the muffaletta and it love it. They have homemade cakes and if you are lucky some fudge to purchase at the front. My only complaint is the wait. We've been 3 times now and one of those times we got sick of waiting to be seated and went somewhere else to eat. My recommendation would be not to go if you are in a rush or short on time.

Yelp
If you were thinking about trying A La Sharte...please don't. And definitely do NOT get a grilled cheese here. It is literally a couple pieces of wonder bread and some kraft singles, and its not even toasted or grilled in any way. You seriously think you can charge people money for that? You're a restaurant, not a cafeteria from 1983. Sometimes you think its worth it to try local places and give them a chance, well not this one. They were also blaring Nickelback through the speakers. You've been warned. And don't even think about responding to this review if you own this place, don't try to defend yourself. You clearly have no respect for yourselves or your customers to serve them that.

Yelp
absolutely awful. wish i could get my money back. order came out completely different from the menu. somehow jalapeño made its way into this sandwich? as you can see the onions and mushrooms are not sautéed. and who even uses chipotle mayo anymore??? was supposed to be a panini but served on a big ole hamburger bun. disgusting.

Yelp
The food is good but not spectacular. The remodel after the fire is nice but not really super unique. It is a good place got lunch but not out of this world good like it used to be. My wife and I went in for lunch today. She had the Cannon wrap and I had the Reuben. Both were good if a little uninspiring. I so recommend this place because I believe in supporting local businesses and it is leaps and bounds better than any fast good option.

Yelp
Very cute place with tasty food. A variety of sandwiches, salads, and wraps for lunch. Dinner has a different menu and I have not yet tried it. I wish they were open more frequently because their hours are not always convenient. The attached boutique is fun. Restaurant is open Tuesday & Wednesday 11-2, Thursday-Saturday 11-2 and 5:30-9:30. Gift shop is open Tuesday-Saturday 11-4:30.

Yelp
Great lunch spot despite the pretentious vibe it tends to give off. (Minus 1/2 star for it.) Feel free to come casual though, it's totally appropriate. Hubs and I can be found here at least once a week. Our favorite dish is the turkey and cheddar on a croissant, it's served with a wine and cheese sauce that's absolutely wonderful. Make sure to get baked potato salad as your side, no matter what you order. Desserts are only average, (Minus 1/2 Star) but if you just have to have something sweet, turtle cheesecake is pretty good.

Yelp
This is a quaint restaurant open for lunch. We came in with a large group and they were very kind to seat all 12 of us together. A friend and I ordered their spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer. Although I like larger pieces of artichoke in my dip, it was still delicious. We had a hard time deciding whether we wanted this or the fries with cranberry ketchup (which I have yet to try), but I think it was the right choice. Unfortunately, our lunch hour was pretty short and we had to take all the entrees as take out, the employees were gracious in moving all our dishes to take-out boxes after most of them had been on hot plates. I ordered the Greek Salad and BLT sandwich (salad/sandwich combo) and with the split appetizer, the total with tip was around $15. A bit more than I expected for lunch, but good nonetheless. The Greek Salad had a bit too much oil and salt dressing for my taste and the BLT was purely bacon, no tomato which I guess I shouldn't have expected. The whole meal was on the saltier side, but they do give you lots of bacon if you love that and it's what you're looking for. I thought I should have gone with the chicken salad sandwich instead and will probably try that next time if I ever return.

Yelp
Nice selection of various salad - sandwiches- wraps - my children like the emery bomb- I usually get a salad - servers are nice and prompt ! They used to have a gift shop up front which I miss - but have yummy goodies up front now!

Yelp
A la cart has a great selection of salads and sandwiches. Try the pimento cheese sandwich with some fried okra. You'll thank me later

Yelp
Ten years ago, this was the place to have lunch. However I don't think they've updated a single thing in over ten years. The food is nowhere near as good as it used to be, since new owners came in and downgraded the quality of the ingredients to save money. The atmosphere is now gross to me. The menus need to be replaced. They need to paint and revamp this local favorite, but since they're making enough money right now they won't. There used to be a lot of retail items to purchase, but someone has let this slide and there are usually like 5 items for sale. This place would have gotten five stars in 2000. In 2012? Go to Crave Bistro, owned by a la carte's original owner and chef. They serve several of the same signature dishes, but they use only the best ingredients and have a much cleaner facility. At this point I don't ever go here. Pretentious? Yep, and no reason for it!

Lee C.

Yelp
Sorry to say that I was disappointed in my lunch. The food was ok, but for the price, I expected more. This will not be my first choice when picking a lunch spot.

Mary C.

Yelp
Unfortunately, the quality of our meal was not worth the cost. Definitely don't order the muffuletta. Worst we've ever had. No condiments or olives - just a toasted dry half bun and 2 pieces of meat. We used to love the place, but not as much anymore. Check out Crave or Christina's. That's what we will choose from now on.
