Good bbq. I’ve tried the pulled pork and Rachel. Very good flavor.

Ordered the beef brisket plate and smoked chicken wings for dinner. Absolutely delicious. The brisket was so juicy and flavorful. Couscous mac n cheese and brussel slaw as sides, amazing. Loved that the brisket was put on top of the pickles and onions, all the juices from the brisket added extra flavor to the pickles and onions. Being greedy I had also ordered the smoked chicken wings. They were done to perfection, nice crunch to them, so flavorful. Neither the wings nor the brisket needed any additional sauce, but the bbq sauce that came with was so good. Loved the tang in it. I drank the remaining sauce, that's how good it was. Last but not least, corn bread.....I heated it up and threw some butter and honey on it.....highly recommend this place.

May 2022: We have now been here many times and will continue coming here. It is more of a takeout style place and we are fine with that. Brisket sandwich is very good! Cook/chef Andrew is wonderful! We stayed and ate at one of the few small tables inside and he checked on us to make sure we were enjoying everything. We were! April 2022: It looks like a closed business from the street - drove by many times. Tonight we decided to stop in - they are open! Hours Tues - Sat 11-9. Small takeout style place, but there are a couple of tables to sit and eat. We ordered a sandwich, The Rachel, which is pastrami on rye, with swiss, slaw, and thousand island dressing, and 1 side, we got couscous mac & cheese and the other order was the pulled pork plate, the 2 sides we chose were brussel sprout slaw and french fries. The Rachel - I was told it was fantastic, the slaw on it excellent. The side of couscous, needed a little more flavor and/or cheese, but it was still very good. The Pulled Pork plate, the pork itself was tasty, but didn't seem to have any bbq sauce on it and we were not given any, I still liked it alot as I don't like real wet, sloppy pulled pork anyway, but a little bbq flavor would've been ok. The pieces were nice big chunks of pork. The brussel slaw was good too, it had raisins and shredded brussel sprouts. Not a wet, drippy slaw. The french fries were good, wish there were more than a handful! It doesn't seem to be overpriced like all the other area restaurants, which we are thankful for. There was no one else there, so staying there to eat was an option, but we noticed the couple of tables there were all dirty and needed a good cleaning as did the exit door. Would've had 5 stars if there was bbq sauce (not a cup of ketchup) in with the pork and if the tables had been wiped clean as well as the exit door! Overall - we liked it a lot and will definitely go back. We wish this business well as it seems to be a little hidden gem for take out.

Holy BBQ! We got the wings, pulled pork (pickled kale side with fries) and the brisket sammy (couscous mac + cheese side). We devoured everything, pictures just couldn’t happen, not sorry. - Pulled pork: juicyyyy and great tangy sauce on top, succulent. Also a super good portion size! - Brisket sammy: firstly, the bun is not just a delivery device, it plays a pillowy role that soaks up all the sauces/Smokey flavor and slaw vibes. Now, onto the brisket, the bark was amazing, the texture is exactly what you want when you crave brisket, worth every penny! - Wings: look, these are some of the finest BBQ wings I have encountered. The Smokey flavor lives onnnn with these, the texture you get from the deep fry is just enough without being a casing, perfect spice rub! - Pickled kale: exactly what you think, it’s nice how the vinegar breaks down the kale so it’s soft, lovely if you are into kale (we are!) - Fries: pretty sure these are hand cut, some skin left on adds to that rustic flavor, solid fries. - Couscous mac+cheese: bomb and not too salty, it’s fun to put the side sauce you get on top since it can soak it up, very good and not too heavy! Brisket is marvelous. I'm looking for a nice bark while keeping that juiciness and tenderness along with good marbling and it was all there. The sides may be the only thing holding this spot back from full on celebrity level bbq. They need to add some traditional sides for people.

Don't bother. Been there 3 times and never could get BBQ... 1 time closed when should have been open, 1 time I was told they were sold out, last time got there just as they opened their doors and was told they had no rack of ribs to sell and was saving the brisket for someone else. A BBQ place that apparently doesn't sell BBQ.

Incredible BBQ. Avi and team's service and responsiveness is amazing. They smoked a brisket and created some sides for us for Rosh Hashanah and everyone loved it!

A La Esh is a recently opened Israeli-style barbecue restaurant from Sharon native Avi Shemtov. Just a couple of doors down from its sister restaurant Simcha, this one focuses on food revolving around fire and smoke. The Hebrew word for "on the fire," Al Ha'esh means "barbecue" in both the method and grill used for cooking and that's what chef Shemtov is trying to highlight will still keeping more American barbecue techniques in mind. This results in a very unique (and delicious) array of dishes from the highly creative smoked mashed sweet potatoes to the Shamin beans which are a mix of beans that have been slowly cooked for many hours with a few Jalapenos to create a luxurious, creamy side dish that's far removed from traditional barbecue beans and yet still very familiar. The brisket, a true test of most traditional barbecue restaurants had a nice bark and was still moist and tasty. Served either as a sandwich ($11) or a plate with 2 sides ($13), it's hard to beat that kind of value and this makes it an a great bang for your buck. Do not sleep on the side of Brussel slaw, which features shaved Brussel sprouts, currants, chopped apricots with vinegar and a little bit of mayo. Those stood out to us and my only regret is not getting an additional side of that. The Couscous Mac & Cheese is also very unique and a very original take on a dish that is typically incredibly fatty and rich; this one is lighter but still satisfying. Brisket aside, there's also plenty of other options like sandwiches like the Reuben ($11) and tuna melt ($9) as well as a grilled cheese ($6). There's also additional options and specials like salads, chicken noodle soup and even smash burgers and chili hot dogs. Keeping a close eye on the restaurant's social media feed is a must to see what the latest and greatest specials are. All in all this place offers another unique offering to an area which typically doesn't have much going for it. Sharon is a pretty sleepy town but chef Avi is working hard to change that and this new addition is definitely a superb one. I look forward to many more trips there in the future.

Interesting little place this. Before it was what it is, I think went through a couple of iterations of pop-up restaurant - "Perfect Taste or something?? Maybe it's a way of keeping one step ahead of the IRS. Anyhow, the food. This is an Israeli Barbeque restaurant that serves pulled pork. Yeah, you heard that right. We got the turkey and brisket plates which come with 2 sides. Both meats were tasty and moist (not always easy to do with turkey). My one criticism is that there was far less turkey in the turkey plate than brisket in the brisket plate. Did they run out? We got a total of four different sides, the Chamin Beans and Smoked Mashed Sweet Potato (both excellent), and the Mac n Cheese Couscous, and Brussel Slaw. Included with each plate were 2 slices of wonderbread and pickled onions and pickled pickles. Portions were generous (other than my turkey) and the value, considering the price, was very good. We also shared a desert, Morning Blend, which was a bread pudding with bacon, maple syrup and hazelnut. I'm guessing that's not too authentically Israeli. Quite good though.

The first time here I ordered a variety to share with my son, who who had just bought a house down the street. We found the brisket to be best meat The best of the sides was the Brussels slaw. The chemin beans were only fair, and the couscous Mac and cheese worse. Still, we enjoyed the meal. Next time was from a food truck at an event in Sharon: brisket and pulled pork plates. I was less impressed. The brisket was very good, but had quite a bit of fat that should have been trimmed. Today we wanted to bring dinner to my son and his sons, and we succumbed again. (I wanted to go to Sichuan Gourmet, in the same mall and the best Chinese for miles around - but my son has a soy allergy.) The brisket was again fatty. One grandson liked his $6 white bread grilled cheese sandwich and fries. The other liked his $12 smash burger and fries. Our $20 plates ($18 on the menu) came with a slice of white bread instead of the advertised cornbread. They did not have the Brussels slaw, but we're willing to give us the canned Cole slaw they use on sandwiches; I declined but my son wisely accepted. His pureed sweet potato was good. The french fries were of the style served on a fairground, fine if you like that. We did eat just about everything, except the brisket fat and most of the white bread. The only veg in my meal was 3 little pickle slices tucked into the corner of the box. The fellow who took our order was friendly and efficient. I just think they could do better across the board, including having a green veg actually available. Final verdict: my wife said she does not want to go back, and I had to agree.

I've been to A La Esh several times. I have not been disappointed even once. I haven't tried everything on the menu, I go for the brisket or the pulled Chicken. If you're looking for more exotic food, there is another restaurant next door that is very good. In fact, this small plaza (Heights Plaza) has 5 restaurants .

I'm not sure if I got the last pieces of the day but my beef brisket plate left a lot to be desired. I expected slices of meat (like I've had at other places) rather than small, hard pieces. It's flavorful but disappointed in the quality. I tried to eat around a bit (I was so hungry!) but didn't end up eating much. Maybe eating at the restaurant would be better than take out?

Unfortunate experience tonight. Decided to try a La Esh after having great reubens over a year ago. Saw the BOGO offer for fried chicken sandwich. What we got was nothing like what was expected from the photos - chicken was overcooked and wasn't even close to fitting the bun, fries were minimal, and no slaw, lettuce on it - just one slice of a pickle (?). Will try one more time, but won't give it a 4th chance. Photos show was we actually received. Not even close...

If you're craving a Reuben sandwich, this place will definitely hit the spot. A++ for the Reuben. Will definitely return again for more sandwiches. We also tried the brisket plate and the rib plate with sides of fries, beans, couscous Mac n cheese, and puréed sweet potato. The bbq meats and sauce are as good as anything you'll find in the general Boston area. The sides left something to be desired though. We finished all the mains but didn't finish much of the sides.

Nailed it!!! I've been dreaming of open a BBQ joint for years, just so I can have decent BBQ that doesn't take hours and hours of attending to my smoker. Avi and his team have taken this labor of love off my hands by opening a bona fide BBQ joint just down the street from my house. The good news for you if you don't live in Sharon is that we are halfway between Boston and Providence, and the restaurant is super close to the highway. I highly recommend the ribs (get them before they're gone!), the Cuban sandwich, and the brisket grilled cheese (Texas toast and cheddar). You're welcome! And say hi to Avi who's probably going to be working like a maniac either there or at Simcha next door (which is worth making a special trip for the best fried chicken in a 500 mile radius). I have tried just about every menu item at the Israeli style BBQ A La Esh in Sharon Ma https://www.alaesh.com/. I highly recommend their Brisket, Smoked Quarter bone-in Chicken, Pork Ribs, Tuna Melt, Rachael Pastrami Sandwich, Brussel Slaw, and Bread Pudding made out of Union Square Donuts. I do love the donuts and their ever changing selection, but I have to avoid them. In addition, the pop up specials of Chili and Smashed Brisket Burger are also go to favorites. Avi Shemtov has added unique sets of spicing to complement traditional BBQ in every dish and side dish. For example, the Brussel slaw was written up in the Globe's top 100 restaurant in their pre-spring Project Takeout Review and I agree, as a unique side dish to go with BBQ, the Brussel Slaw can't be beat. What is also special of A La Esh is the consistency of their quality. I can depend on it. Most of their entrees don't require use of BBQ sauces, the flavors are smoked in as they should be. This is especially true of the Pork Ribs, Brisket, and Quartered Chicken. The meats have enough fat for taste, but still stay on the leaner side. I also admire Avi's clever us of leftovers, both for taste and price -- the prices are very reasonable. Equally impressive is that this restaurant opened up during July of 2020 (pandemic) , and made it because it has the quality, price, consistency, yet always something new in the works. And don't forget, just 2 doors down is Simcha that has a plus 3 sigma take on Israeli recipes.

Ordered chicken quarters with couscous Mac &cheese and Brussels sprouts ... It was BAD ... the chicken smelled and was tasteless with so much fat around the skin... the pearl couscous was badly seasoned and was over cooked... with which came 2 white grocery store breads... The 1 start that I give is for Brussels slaw which was the most decent out of everything that we ordered. Paid $21.40 for me and my husband. Not worth the money! Never going back!

The food is amazing and the owner does tons of great things for the community. Happy to support this business. Our favorites are the tuna melt and the brisket!

While we try hard to support local restaurants, and will continue to support all of Avi Shemtov's endeavors, honestly the food we have gotten from this place on two different nights did not live up to the hype. While the BBQ pulled pork and the smoked sweet potatoes were amazing, the brisket and lamb were both very dry. The couscous mac and cheese was mushy with almost no cheese flavor. The fries were soft and flaccid. The Brussels sprouts slaw was missing currents. The Reuben sandwich was a pool of grease that had soaked through the bun on the VERY short ride home. Given that it is all takeout at this time and the ride to most homes in Sharon is a short one, attention should be paid to food that makes it home in good condition and not mushy. We will keep trying. Maybe other options from the menu will be as successful as the pulled pork and sweet potatoes.

Me and my family ordered food here for dinner, random pieces of plain bread and onion in all of the meals, and the chicken tasted like sand. The pulled pork was good, but I really do not recommend the chicken.
