A la Virtù

This wine shop was near our hotel and we went in with no idea about Italian wine. We were trying to find wines close to Australia style, and the lady (sorry we did not catch name..) helped us find some great choices. We bought the wine and some limoncello, and then realised we had no bottle opener. She kindly lent us an opener (hope that you got it under the door this morning!). Both the wines were delicious, we favoured the Cab Sav. Thank you for your help and kindness, highly recommend this shop if you’re in the area and looking for nice wines 👌🏻

Luciana was a joy to meet and clearly knows her product well. We went in for a single bottle of beer and left with Grappa, small sample size liqueurs, and a fantastic Imperial Chocolate Coffee Stout that was exactly what I was hoping for and did not even know it. Excellent shop with a great selection. I would definitely recommend!

the very definition of a hidden gem. Luciana serves wine on tap, the price is amazing and the wine is SO good. we tried the sparkling rose and the prosecco. you should bring a bottle so she fills it for an incredible price. definitely recommend!

Fantastic store! The owner is wonderful and very helpful. Fills 1 litre bottle of your choice of wine for about 3 euros! Cheaper than 1 glass right down the street. Super friendly! It’s the cheapest way to join in the party that happens nightly just a few doors down along the canal.

A wonderful shop run by an equally wonderful person. Luciana was incredibly helpful and friendly when my husband and I stopped in, allowing us to taste several wines before deciding on our purchase. We were able to fill a liter bottle for under €3, and decided to purchase a bottle of beer as well. Both were delicious, and we decided to go back later that evening. I wish we were staying in Venice longer, but I know if we return A la Virtù will be at the top of our list.

Run by THE kindest woman alive. Super sweet, patient, and caring! She spoke 4 languages during the short span we were there and was abundantly kind in all of them. She told us one of the wines we selected was from her friend’s winery. Love that she sells amazing local wines and with the best customer service I’ve ever had in any wine store! Bonus it’s super cute! I would go just to see and chat with her but incredible wine and cute decor is the cherry on top!

Amazing service !!! Filled a litre wine bottle for 3 euros and it was absolutely delicious wine !!! No line at a peak time and she gave so many recommendations ! So much cheaper than anywhere else on the street, right on the canal!! Such a good deal!! Do not pass it up!

Luciana is amazing. Wine is amazing. I recommend. Tons of options. Very fun shop and amazing local experience.
