The Best Microbreweries Near Montreal | Eater Montreal

"This Main Street establishment just expanded with a second location two doors down: the Taproom & Buvette opened in June 2021. The original site of the microbrewery is housed in a building dating back to 1843, and the interior design of the new space is clean, modern, and the new home to the brewing facilities. The Taproom offers beers on tap, wines by the glass, and cans to-go; swing by the microbrewery for food options. Pro tip: the Hoppy Family American Pale Ale is where it’s at." - Daniel Bromberg

Where to Eat in the Eastern Townships | Eater Montreal

"Built as an expansion to its existing microbrewery just steps away, the taproom comes as a welcome addition to the businesses sprouting like mushrooms in trendy Sutton. Now housing its production equipment and facilities, this watering hole bleeds good vibes and serves up its namesake beers as well as a handful of natural wines. Grab cans to go or sit on the renovated patio space." - Daniel Bromberg

Ok. So, let's talk about amazing burgers and beer! I think, no, I know, that the "maple" burger has been one of the best burgers I have had in a long time! The microbrewed beer... yum! Oh, and the fries? To die for. The place is basic and unexciting. Even the outside patio, it's like the inside... basic. The staff is friendly and well educated about their products and are not pushy. The food, as I mentioned above... amazing! Go to this place!

Very cool spot in Sutton. We came in with a large group and they were accommodating and gave excellent service. We came in mostly for a beer and snacks and weren’t disappointed. I had their Triple IPA (Dix) and it was fantastic. That along with a phone back was perfect! Highly recommend if you are anywhere in the area.

I should have taken a photo of my goat cheese salad; it was lovely and so appetizing with a tasty combination of fruits and vegetables. I didn't realize there were beets in it when I ordered but they were easy for me to remove and the server actually offered to have the salad remade. The wine was good. My husband enjoyed a dark beer (and my beets). He liked the cheese quesadilla which had more veggies than most. Servers checked in with us often and spoke English to accommodate us. My French is fine 1:1 but in a noisy place, it's too difficult.

Sat outside as a family of 3 with a 6year old. Beer was tasty and the server was knowledgeable when my husband’s beer choice kicked. Food was very good. Pretty sure my kiddo’s chicken tenders were from scratch? We sat outside which was lovely. Server seemed to have a lot of tables but he and the host worked seamlessly together.

We went on a hiking day, which was great, we were really hungry and found this gem! The place has an amazing vibe. Everyone was really friendly, the service was great. The little terrasse they have is nice to chill. The food, omg, that was incredible! So delicious! We all ordered different things from the menu, but I'll absolutely recommend the ribs, so they are perfectly made. They also have a great variety of beers, I'll let you guys discover it. Overall 5/5. I would definitely come back.

Google
Honestly one of the best meals in the Eastern Townships. Its very clear that the kitchen takes pride in the plates that come out. Fish and chips taste extremely fresh, with a fish delicately battered around the tender flesh. The side aioli was the perfect accompaniment to the fries that were done just right. Burger was really good, the flavor of the beef is distinct. The kids meals didn't disappoint either. The chicken nuggets definitely did not come out of a bag, and the gravy and the poutine is unique with a slight sweet tang aftertaste. Extensive beer selection, their IPA is clean and smooth with a singular note of clean hops. If I had more time I'd sample more of their beer menu. Outdoor seating on the side patio is plentiful, lit up for night time dining, or just perfect for an afternoon lunch. Stop friendly, accommodating, and allowed us to practice our terrible terrible French. Excellent food, good beer, you really can't ask for more.

Waited 10 minutes at the front door. Nobody acknowledged us or gave a signal that we would be taken care of. There were plenty of empty tables. The bartender saw us and 2 servers saw us. I went to the bar to ask about a table and I was told to wait at the door. The people behind us said let's go to the other micro across the street and we left as well. Pathetic customer service

Google
A wonderful little spot in a really nice town near the Sutton ski resort. We had dinner here one night and we’re not disappointed. The portions were quite large and the menu was small and unique in a subtle way. Classic pub fare done really well. The cocktails were really well presented and they had a nice selection of beers too! The only thing that could have been a little better was a little more attentive staff. We shared an appetizer but got no side plates for a while (minor but we couldn’t flag anyone down easily).

Yelp
I had the pumpkin soup $6 that was lukewarm and terrible folliwed by the chicken wrap for $21.95. A mediocre lunch with tax and tip for $36. My friend had a hamburger. The patty was so hard she couldn't get a fork into it. Worst restaurant I have ever been to.

Yelp
Delicious beer (IPA in particular) and food came out fast, hot, fresh and delicious! We sat outside and were able to have our (well behaved) dog with us.

Yelp
An excellent spot for lunch on a snowy day. We had the poutine - outstanding! Loved the gravy served on the side. One of us had the special fried Salmon sandwich and she said it was cooked to perfection. I had the chipotle chicken wrap - very tasty. Others had the tomato soup and chicken sandwich - all dishes were delicious! And we had excellent service from Alex - thank you!

Yelp
Sat at the bar for a few beers. Stayed for 90 minutes and practically had to beg for service. They have no clue how to make customers feel welcome and appreciated. And beer is so so. Not going back.

Yelp
Had a great time at the l'Abordage - was seated outside on their very large patio (had my dog with me and they were very accomodating). The food was excellent. Chicken wings were great, calamari and natchos were also fantastic. Had lots of different beers to try and the mixed drinks were very generous. The mains were equally spectacular. Service was friendly and efficient. Located on a main street so lots of shops around and ice cream store right next door.

Yelp
Brasserie A l'Abordage is a perfect place to go after hitting the ski slopes all day. Beer was great. Food was golden. Calamari app was tender. Onion rings were light, not heavy and greasy. Burgers were beefy and tasty. The duck pate chinois was tasty. The kids potions were huge. We ended up walking out with lunch leftovers. And for what you ordered the price was low. The beer and food came out promptly and the staff were friendly. We watched them turn tables quickly without being pushy. They handled the Ontario March Break crowd like a boss!

Yelp
As we arrived to Sutton after 8 PM, from NYC, this was one of the only places still open, and which didn't require a reservation. We were able to order food on the phone before coming there, as the kitchen was closing within 10 mins. We were very hungry and this place was great! The meal was reasonably priced and very tasty. The service was very good also and every employee spoke good English. It is an unpretentious place and felt welcoming.

Yelp
This place provides exactly what you'd expect from a local microbrewery and more! We tried three of the burgers plus fries, salads, and ciders. The service was quick, friendly, and efficient. The food was AH-MAZING. Perfectly crispy bacon and chicken burger, excellent fries with a variety of mayos. Caesar salad with tons of dressing and croutons and bacon... they don't skimp on the good stuff! There is one bad review for this restaurant and the reviewer complains that she went out of her way to come here... which is her own fault. What a dumb thing to say. This place is excellent.

Yelp
The veggie burger was very good, and the fries were excellent. The onion rings looked really good but in actuality they were flavorless and disappointing. I would have expected a brewery to have a much better beer batter. The restaurant felt overcrowded and service could have been more friendly but I am nitpicking now and overall this was a good place.

Yelp
Stopped here for dinner and the tables at the front of the house were full, so the restaurant was very noisy. Beer was good, red wine was fair at best. Fish and chips were good. Fish was fresh and the sauce was good. Fries was soggy and tasted bland and over cooked. Smoked salmon salad was good. Would have liked to had a little more salmon on it.

Yelp
Overall good experience! Great food, service was a little slow, but only one waiter for the whole restaurant on a Tuesday night

Yelp
I went here for lunch with my mother one day. The service was friendly and the atmosphere is really cool and industrial. I had the bruschetta as an entree, the pieces were all piled up in a nice stack. It was tasty. For my main I had the pulled pork wrap and my mother had the burger called "Le Grimpeur", both of us thought that our food was good... But missing a little something for it to be awesome. There were no salt or pepper on our table and the waitress had disappeared when I realized I might want some extra seasoning so I went without. I had tried the cider during a previous visit with my friends so for this time I tried the beer sangria... never again. For the first time in my life I didn't finish a glass of sangria, it was served without fruit nor a straw and had a strange taste to it. Not recommended. The menu in general looks good and I would like to try more things on it, there is a terrace outside perfect for people watching and a good amount of seating inside. Overall decent food and a sweet atmosphere... They could definitely have a larger selection of beer considering they are a brewery... But maybe more is to come.

Yelp
Had big plate of nachos with double burger. Tried the 3 in-house beers. Good food & beer! Would come back

Yelp
Very good, stopped on Sat afternoon, and enjoyed smoked meat and poutine. Waitress very friendly and helpful.
