The 20 Best Restaurants In Berlin 2024

"The white tablecloths and glittering chandeliers make this Friedrichshain spot seem kind of formal, but the chummy wait staff keep the vibe fun and far from stuffy. Let your pinkies relax and join the many regulars for excellent three-course lunch specials that change daily. Expect things like a carrot soup to start, pasta with tomato sauce and eggplant for the main, and mango panna cotta to finish." - cindy brzostowski

Ristorante a Mano Review - Friedrichshain - Berlin - The Infatuation

"The tie-wearing waiters and business people having client dinners make A Mano feel kind of formal, but this Friedrichshain spot is more than you’d think. Yes, there are chandeliers and rich dishes like truffle gnocchi, but this place has a ton of regulars, a super friendly waitstaff, and also some excellent lunch specials. Those change daily, but you’ll find things like a carrot soup to start, pasta with tomato sauce and eggplant for the main, and mango panna cotta to finish. During our short trip to Berlin, my friends and I chose this Italian restaurant after being drawn in by its inviting menu—and it truly exceeded our expectations. From the beautiful location and impeccable service to the impressive wine list and outstanding food, every detail was exceptional. A special thank you to our waiter, Antonio, who provided us with top-tier service. His deep knowledge of wines and warm, friendly approach made our experience even more memorable. We left a piece of our hearts in this restaurant, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and refined Italian dining experience.

Google
The food was very good, and I would definitely would come back for this. Service was good but somehow slow, and it was hard to get things such as olive oil or plate for the bread.

Absolutely delicious pasta with an authentic Italian soul! The service was outstanding—our server kindly recommended the right amount of food based on our appetite, which was especially helpful for a first-time visitor like me. Everything from the dishes to the atmosphere made for a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended if you’re in Berlin—and I’ll definitely come back next time I visit! 🍝✨

Google
The service was impeccable - we were looked after the moment we arrived and it continued throughout the meal. The food choice was pleasingly extensive and each course arrived quickly and without fuss. Presentation and quality of the food was excellent, we enjoyed every aspect of our visit here. Recommended!

Google
Service was amazing and really funny. The food was amazing. The steak was cooked amazing and just like we asked. The pasta was nothing wow, but really nice and with really balanced tastes. The arugula and cherry tomatoes salad was really nice (simple but nice). For sure would visit again.

Yelp
We had a fabulous meal here! Service was excellent, servers were pleasant and very attentive. We had a House Specialty appetizer to start, a spinach roll with ricotta and roasted garlic. It was excellent! For the main course, we had a ribbon pasta with chicken and mushrooms in a cream sauce and veal medallions with porcini mushrooms, also with a cream sauce. Both were very tasty. For dessert, we sampled the cheesecake and the pistachio tiramisu, which was quite light and airy. We ate outside and they had blankets available at every table since the weather turned colder today. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I highly recommend it!

Yelp
Every dish was beyond compare! Our server's recommendations were spot on as were the wine parings. The crowd was everything from known regulars (saw servers greeting them with great familiarity) to couples to tourists. Wouldn't recommend bringing kids under 12. Run, don't walk, to this slice of Italy in Germany!

Yelp
Thought it would be a good idea to have an Italian dinner knowing there's a sizeable Italian community in Germany. Also a nice break from the meat heavy German diet. Found A Mano through my research before departing. Seemed to be the best bet, after reading all the good reviews. It turned out to be true to what I'd read. The food was very good. Started with a pasta dish special the waiter had suggested. Also put my trust in him to bring a good glass of wine with my dinner. Which he did. My only complaints is that I'd ordered an Argentinian steak which I saw on the menu. Was quite pleased to see it available as I'd become familiar with the marvelous flavor while I had been living in Rome. (It was the highest priced item on the menu.) What I was served though was the other cut of beef on the menu, the rump steak. A substantially inferior cut. Yet when the bill arrived I was charged more than 12 euros more, for the Argentinian beef. I imagine most customers would not pick up on the slight. But I am a professional chef. Also was off-putting when paying the check with a card, that the waiter will dictate the tip. If you're able to steer clear of the issues I mentioned, you will experience an enjoyable meal. If you're in the mood for steak simply order the rump steak and save yourself a bunch. Because that's what you'll be served regardless.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in Berlin. Amazing stuff serve you like A king. Food is top top delicious Gnocchi in tartufu souce amazing. Rolls of ricotta and spinach as starter in brown butter simply haven on earth. Enjoyed every minute.

Yelp
We ordered different types of pasta, beef carpaccio, fish and other dishes. Parking 2/5 Is hard to find as this restaurant is located right at the roundabout at Frankfurter Allee Taste 3.5/5 The fish was fresh and so was the carpaccio, really enjoyed both meals, especially the carpaccio was great. The fish was a normal dish, nothing fancy, a bit of olive oil, lemon. The pasta were also decent, nothing crazy or something that would get us back to this place. Price/ value 2.5/5 You pay a high price for a small portion of food. There is definitely a tourist charge on top of it. As native Berlin you can get similar food elsewhere for a far cheaper price and larger portions. Ambiente 4/5 The Ambiente is nice, the Service is food and the waiters are nice and funny as well. It's a good place to have a business dinner or date but not a place if you are a foodie that is craving great Italian food.

Yelp
Amazing experience. Great food, wonderful service. Large party and we felt like family! Highly recommend!

Yelp
I would give this place more than 5 stars if possible... incredible staff, quite busy but they made up for it. We fell in love! Delicious full experience. Get the truffle gnocchi

Tracy S.

Yelp
I wish I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars. First of all, it's impeccably clean and such a cute place in general. Second, the food was INCREDIBLE. I ordered the truffle gnocchi and was not disappointed; look at the fluffy gnocchi pillows but most importantly, and I cannot emphasize this enough, the service was unforgettable. Absolutely every waiter spoke to me by first name, made sure everything was okay, and were just generally some of the friendliest people I've been fortunate to meet. I travel a lot, and I can say with certainty that these were some of the best. Luigi & Januaro - thank you for one of my favorite dinners ever.

Yelp
Our experience here was 5 stars from start to finish. The service was amazing, our waiter was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu. We had a group of 3 and all tried different items. The gnocci was perfectly done, one of the best I have ever had (including in Italy). The prices seemed very fair for the level of quality and service provided.

Yelp
Went to Ristorante a Mano without reservations on a Wednesday night. They were pretty full, however we were able to snag a table for 2. After ordering drinks, another party of 4 came in and out waiter asked us if it was possible for us to move to an alternate table so they could combine two tables together to accommodate the table of 4. We had no problem doing this, and we moved. Our waiter then informed us that we could have another round of drinks on the house as a thank you! They served complimentary bread, sliced meat and the BEST OLIVES I've ever had. My boyfriend ordered a tagliatelle dish (don't remember what was in it) and I had the penne arrabbiata. Both were delicious, the arrabbiata had onions and peppers inside that added different textures to the pasta. They even served complimentary shots of limoncello or sambuca, as well as a little baggie of MyTaxi sponsored gummies (lol). Overall, I recommend this restaurant! Nice ambiance inside, extremely accommodating and kind waiters.

Yelp
We came here after a quick decision for good Italian food. We did not have reservations, but were given seats immediately though our group of 6 had to be split up into tables of 4 and 2 (bigger groups can be accomodated outside, but it was cold). One of the first things I noticed was how good the service was. The waiters were all very attentive. We were served bread w/olive oil and vinegar for free upon sitting down and they got our orders quickly. I shared a cream of potato soup with truffle oil, a mixed salad with a sort of balsamic vinaigrette and beef fillet, and a spaghetti with garlic, prawns, and chili. The soup was delicious, though a bit on the salty side. The salad was alright, and the pasta was really good. And apparently there was one spaghetti in my friend's sea of penne. Overall, I would say this was a solid place for Italian food and I had nothing to complain about, but it was nothing too stellar.

Yelp
I'm a solo traveler and found the reviews being good for this restaurant. When I got there it was packed but they made a great effort to accommodate me on a small table. The service was incredible, the pasta, the best I've ever had, surpassing anything I've had in Italy or anywhere else.

Laura K.

Yelp
Great experience, great service. Excellent decor and sitting outside was relaxing. Amazing wine list and the pastas were out of this world -- you could tell it was homemade, especially the gnocchi. 10/10 recommend! And try the limoncello!

Yelp
Our apartment in Berlin was above this restaurant and we decided to have dinner here one night when we wanted to take it easy. We got a table easily without a booking, and they even moved us from a table in the middle of the restaurant to a more intimate table which was nice. For starter we shared the antipasti platter between us which was a nice selection of grilled vegetables, meats and cheese. We'd also been given a bowl of olives and breads so it was a nice start to the meal. For main, I had the pasta with artichoke and prawn. It was perfectly fine although I much preferred it with Parmesan which took a little while to arrive. It had a generous amount of prawns and was a really tasty dish. We shared a couple of 500ml carafes of wine between the two of us, and I think the bill was around €60. Service was really warm and friendly, and I thought our waiter was really nice. I'm not sure I'd recommend heading out of your way to go here as it wasn't anything overly special but it was perfect for us staying so close.

Yelp
My family and I recently took a trip to Berlin. After a couple days of doner, sausages, etc., we were jonesing for some good Italian food. After cross-referencing results between Yelp and Trip Advisor, we decided on Ristorante a Mano, one of the highest-rated restaurants in the area with a ton of reviews. On the way, we were hoping that we weren't dressed too casually for the location. Upon getting there, our attire was no problem, and the waitstaff was incredibly friendly. We did not have a reservation, but that was no problem as we were immediately seated outside. I think it is accurate to say the waiters *rushed* to prepare our table. As we were seated, we promptly received bread as well as blankets to keep us warm. Our main waiter was Rosano (?), and he was very attentive, helpful, funny, and helpful. Honestly, he has set the bar for descriptions of service for my future yelp reviews. We ordered the burrata appetizer, which packed a lot of flavor. Between the four of us, we ordered a chicken/mushroom pasta, a pesto gnocchi, a truffle ravioli (!!!!!), and a spaghetti and meatballs. All were rich with bold flavors. Maybe it's because we're from a couple of college towns in Florida, but we all thought the food was superb. I have to devote a separate paragraph to the dessert. I think the general consensus among my family was that this was the best dessert we had ever had. Rosano talked us into the dessert sampler, and I wish I remembered better what exactly it consisted of. There was a moist tiramisu, a mango panna cotta, a pistachio ice cream (the best one there), and..... something else that I know was amazing but I forget what it was. Afterwards, Rosano gave us complimentary drinks and called us a cab home. Overall, this was an 11/10 experience, and I will be recommending this place to any of my friends who are lucky enough to be in Berlin.

Yelp
A Mano was really a very heavy disappointment. After reading the good reviews, we made a reservation and were curious. Once we arrived, the location was already very disappointing, a large traffic circle with really zero atmosphere, and an entrance through a curtain where an uninterested German Italian received us. Once inside at our table we noticed after looking at the menu that the prices for the starters seemed written with a fork, so expensive. What costs 6 to 7 Euro at another (better) Italian restaurant is here at least double. However, expensive does not guarantee good and quality food here, that's clear. The presentation was sloppy and simple - in a road restaurant this would not be out of place. The waiters seemed to do their best to create an Italian atmosphere including intrusive behavior and some babbling of Italian words. Once the dishes were served the overall impression was very disappointing. A plate without too much inspiration and if you wanted to make a comment after the obligatory question if the food was good, the waiter did not even listen and walked away like a rocket. After the last course a plate with grapes was suddenly thrown on our table, no idea why, and at the checkout both neighboring tables received a digestive of the house but with us not even a mint at the checkout. I wonder where all these positive reviews are coming from on Tripadvisor and on Google ??? Did they hire a company here to write positive comments ? I really don't get it. They are a paying Tripadvisor restaurant and then the reviews are best taken with a grain of salt I have the impression. A good advice is to ignore this restaurant and eat elsewhere, across the street is also an Italian maybe go there. You can eat well elsewhere twice where you can only 1 time moderate food. Absolutely not recommended and I never see them here again, pity of the money.

Yelp
Walked in on a Monday night for a table of two (with no reservations), and they were packed. The staff greeted us warmly, and apologized that there would be a 15 minute wait. No problem for us. It was worth every minute. The service is the best I've had in as long as I can remember. The staff is polite, attentive, and (at times) witty. The food, though? The best Italian food I have had outside of Italy. The pasta was clean. The gnocchi was decadent. The house wine was far above typical house wine quality. Don't miss this place. You'll be glad you went.

Yelp
I was blown away by this place. We walked in and were lucky enough to grab a table. Intimate atmosphere. Waitstaff is friendly and accommodating. Ordered buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes for appetizer. I fell in love with my entree of gnocchi with truffle butter. Would not hesitate to visit today and order again. A must for homemade Italian.

Yelp
Don't come here if you're looking for Italian. The waiters are extremely rude and pretentious. I didn't order a starter and they looked at me with disgust. I brought my own bottle of water (portable branded bottle) and they asked me to keep it as if they were disgusted and forced me to order a drink. I will never recommend. Look for another place to eat dinner and have a better time in Berlin. I wish I never went.

Yelp
Great Staff & Food! Highly recommended for pizza, truffles and all in between. Come here once and you'll come there often. Don't go there when you're on a diet though :) true Italian cusine as you otherwise know it only from Italy

Yelp
Ordered the beef carpaccio, lamb ragu, and truffle gnocchi. All were wonderful, but the Gnocchi was incredible. If you like truffle you MUST go here and get this dish. Service was great. Had reservations and were promptly sat. They were packed by 8:30pm.

Yelp
I can highly recommend that place for all who are looking for a good Italian meal and a nice environment. We went there on my birthday during our Berlintrip. We looked for something romantic and we are both love Italian food. Our dishes were good. Not something very fancy but it tasted like you would expect it. The service was awesome. Super friendly and attentive! We will definitely visit this place again!

Yelp
I'm on holiday in Berlin and was looking for somewhere nice but not too pricey for dinner. I'm very glad we chose this place! The food was absolutely delicious and the staff very friendly. They seemed to know many other customers very well, which suggests that there are regulars. I can see why! We had soups to start - both the tomato and the vegetable soups were delicious. I then had pork with porcini mushrooms and my boyfriend had steak. Both were delicious, although I did get food envy watching my boyf tuck into his wonderful steak! The wine was very tasty and we were served appetisers of bread and meats, and grapes at the end of the meal, which was a nice touch. The service was friendly and not intrusive. They would basically leave you alone until you ask them for something, at which point they can't do enough. At the end, the bill was very reasonable. We spent €60 on two starters, two mains, wine, water, orange juice and a 20% tip. Highly recommended for very reasonably priced, good food and lovely service.

Yelp
Arrived without reservation and were immediately welcomed and offered glasses of wine while we waited for free. Super service and professional. Served food within minutes. Love this place.

Yelp
This restaurant was one of the culinary highlights while on a recent visit to Berlin. We tried it since it came up in a web search as the #1 highest rated/most reviewed restaurant on TripAdvisor and because of Germany's close proximity to Italy being just over the Alps. Sure enough the restaurant had an authentic Italian staff, the food was fantastic and the price was completely reasonable. A burrata appetizer, two half little carafes of red wine, a lamb chop entree and a smoked salmon lasagna entree all came in at around 70€. When we sat down at the table they brought us bread and a little spicy olive salad which tasted just like Sicilian olive salad that my grandfather used to make -- this place is a must of in Berlin. Probably best to make a reservation.

Thuy H.

Yelp
Great food and such fun/incredible service. We Enjoyed our time here! We had the Burrata, fish, and truffle pasta. They were all delicious!!

Dereck W.

Yelp
Was by far the most reasonable price restaurant and best tasting meal since in Germany. Waiter service was super and establishment was very clean.

Yelp
Great little Italian spot.. easy train ride. GREAT service. Food was very good. Maybe not great though since I wasn't a fan of The calamari. It's prob just me being ignorant American though. Calamari came whole and unbreaded which I'm. It used to. Thanks for the sambuca though at the end of dinner.

Ro M.

Yelp
Amazing experience! We were a group of 5 celebrating a nice birthday dinner in Berlin and we couldn't have been more impressed. Our server was friendly and so funny and made our whole dining experience very enjoyable. The best dish was the Gnocchi with truffle oil, but honestly every plate was to die for (sea bass is amazing as well). The food came out fast and hot. We always felt taken care of but not smothered. If you are in Berlin definetly stop by and eat at a table outside and you will not be disappointed!

Lauren H.

Yelp
We were visiting from the U.S. and hadn't had great service until this place!!! Nicest wait staff & amazing food! It is a must when you're visiting Berlin!

Yelp
We were all really disappointed with this restaurant. My parents wanted to choose somewhere special to take me out on my birthday and this spot got top reviews on Yelp etc. The meal was a disaster. The cheese starters were tasteless and my sea bream main was douced in garlic and as dry as a bone. The waitors were like Manuel from Faulty Towers putting on sinister sounding Italian accents. All a bit surreal. Avoid like the plague.
