Really good experience. We had the smaller tasting menu and the wine pairing menu. Excellent service and were sat under the lemon tree with a view of the whole outdoor area. From the apperitizers through to the dessert, every single bit was full of flavour. The wines were excellent matches to the dishes. My wife had mocktails made to match - and they were excellent, too.

This is, undoubtedly, one of the beat restaurant experiences. Food is exceptional. Drinks and wine suggestions are exceptional. The new location (2025) is stunningly fitted out. The team are the best and we were happy to be welcomed back - see you again soon!

Loved the food and service from start to finish.We’ve eaten at 1, 2, and 3-start Michelin restaurants (including one in Milan last week), and this was a good or better across the board. I recommend some sort of mosquito repellent, particularly if your reservation is outdoors and a little bit later.

[update: 25 July 2025] the review below concern a visit to A Mesa last year, at their old location. We now returned to the new location, and our view is essentially unchanged. The courtyard in the new location s beautiful, but because of the high temperature we decided to stay inside and had practically private dining. Service remains attentive and food quality high. We'll return] A Mesa is one of those places where the bib gourmand label fits very well. Unpretentious, affordable, very good food, a really nice find. We picked a few a la carte dishes, all very attractively presented and with well-structured flavor- and texture profiles. Service was very attentive, and overall the place is still relaxed enough that one can either dress up or go in shorts and T-Shirt.

A lunch time treat with my friend Exquisite and will be returning to try out more of this wonderful menu From the moment I was welcomed inside to the lovely ambience of the restaurant I knew this would be an excellent meal experience The Couvert was delightful with Patés shaped into Carrot cherry and pedra All flavourful with the warm bread and olive oil Starter Ostras e Framboesa The local. Osyers were delicate with the raspberry granita... Amazing sweet and sharp My main was the Black Pork with Seafood shrimp xerem and Bak Choy My friend had the croaker fish with Coriander rice Both were amazing flavourful and well balanced (You knew I was coming with the Asian style tweaks) Dessert Banana and Sesame This needs more descriptive meaning... Caramelised banana pieces served with banana sorbet and crackers with Black sesame shaped pedras stones Fantastic use of the black sesame outside of Chinese cookery! Lavender and Peach textures and also amazing Lavender and creamy bomb covered with white chocolate and a biscuit base with peach compote and leaf tuiles and vegan chantilly Fantastic Amazing Stunning Highly Recommend a visit We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the service, meeting José Días and the team and the atmosphere Muito Obrigada

We had the most amazing experience. This is an ambitious restaurant with the skills and artistry to match. We booked for my husband's birthday and decided to have the short tasting menu. Each course was artfully presented but the standout were the flavours. So creative and exquisite. The wine pairing was superb too. The service was impeccable and professional but with the warmth and kindness you would expect in the Algarve. We kept comparing A Mesa with one of our favourite Michelin starred restaurants in London.... We hope for the very best for the restaurant and the team and we are eager to visit again. Next time, we will be having the longer tasting menu for sure.

We have loved to support this innovative restaurant over the years and the new outdoor setting is very atmospheric however, service is still not as first class as it should be. The last hour we were there our waitress was serving inside and we were not offered dessert, coffee and waited for 20 minutes to pay before going inside to do so. It's a great team led by Jose but the chefs creations are let down by shortage of staff. I think we will give it another try in a few months when things improve. Good luck team.

Food was beautifully prepared and presented and mostly delicious but a few of the flavour combinations didn’t fully work for us. Service was generally very good and professional, but they could probably do with a few more staff to maintain that level when they get busy. Altogether very good.
