"À Mesa is situated next to the charming 17C São Paulo church, on the ground floor of a small boutique hotel but with its own private entrance. The tasteful dining room features stone walls and a section of glass floor through which the wine cellar is visible as a reminder of the property’s history. The menu was created by chef João Dias, whose partner is chef Luís Brito (A Ver Tavira). Choose between the à la carte and three tasting menus (Viagem pelo Atlântico, Iguarias que rimam and Terra e mar). The charming terrace comes into its own in summer!" - Michelin Inspector

Had dinner at A Mesa Tavira last night and it was amazing. The food creations were beautiful and delicious, the service was spot on and their new location is super comfortable. They readily accommodated our vegetarian friends and that looked really good too. Give it a try!

A Mesa is one of those places where the bib gourmand label fits very well. Unpretentious, affordable, very good food, a really nice find. We picked a few a la carte dishes, all very attractively presented and with well-structured flavor- and texture profiles. Service was very attentive, and overall the place is still relaxed enough that one can either dress up or go in shorts and T-Shirt.

We dined here 2 times during a week. The first time we selected a full menu, the next a main course and a dessert. If you value good food, friendly service and excellent food and wine, this is the place! A Bib Gourmand is very well deserved, and a Michelin star is within reach: Excellent and creative food, lovely presentation and a relaxed atmosphere - this is it! If we come back to Tavira, A Mesa is again on our bucket list!

What an exquisite way to end our stay in Portugal and taste the Algarve with elevated Portuguese cuisine brilliant. The entire crew from the servers to the chefs were just well connected to make this an amazing experience . We selected from the tasting menus OMG what a superb experience.

My wife and I had dinner here and enjoyed the experience. We had the large tasting menu, which had a variety of exquisitely-prepared dishes. Both of our favorites was the mini Crispy Tuna Tartare, but everything was good. Not the place to go if you want a large filling meal, but definitely a unique tasting experience for a fancy evening out.

We celebrated my husband's 40th here and enjoyed the tasting menu. It was out of season so the restaurant was quiet but lucky us.. We got the undivided attention of both the Somellier and the waiter. Nothing was too much trouble. We changed a couple of things on the menu both without bother. The food was truly fantastic. Beautifully presented and totally delicious. Truly outstanding little place which deserves heaps of credit for ingenuity of menu, the flavours and the wonderful staff. Top notch. Would recommend to everyone.

A Mesa definitely is a very special spot on Tavira’s culinary map. Precisely executed, well presented dishes served in a pleasant venue by kind and attentive staff. Everything was tasty, but not extraordinarily delicious. Taking under consideration prices and portion sizes it was a slight let down.
