Freshness Is the Focus in This Sustainable Florida Food Scene
"One of the last working fish houses in the village, run by Karen Bell, who grew up locally and intentionally protects the community’s fishing heritage by resisting condo development and operating respectfully—closing early and avoiding entertainment to preserve neighborhood character. Her efforts extend beyond the business: she buys nearby homes to rent affordably to employees so locals can continue making a living from the water." - Wendy Pramik

I live in northern Illinois and fresh saltwater fish is hard to come by. My wife and I came down for vacation and wanted to bring back some fresh fish to fill our freezer. We looked at many places but this places was overall the best deal and the freshest fish we could find. I will definitely return again for more.

The place is great for fresh fish, not gonna find better anywhere. I refuse to go anymore, I do not like the cash only policy, it does not smell right when you are selling significant sums for cash only. Sounds familiar.

Thank goodness there is still a bit of old Florida remaining. AP Bell Fish Co you guys rock! I get my mullet there to smoke. Its a tradition in my family. I hope you stay here for us locals. Don't sell out to the tourist! Somehow I dont think you will.
