A Pong Mae Sunee

A Pong Mae Sunee: Essential Bib Gourmand Stop It's all (and only) about the A-Pong (coconut crepes). They're cooked in tiny woks over charcoal, which gives them super crispy edges, and a soft, chewy coconut flavored middle. Just 5 Baht (15 cents USD) each, they're a perfect quick, cheap bite. If you decide to give them a try, we recommend getting there early. We were there right at opening (9am) and by the time they made ours a line started to form. We enjoyed them and will stop by again next time we visit Phuket!

A small, hidden spot in a little side street in Phuket Old Town, but I’m glad I discovered it. You can get small crêpes with coconut flavor here. They seem to be very popular, because I had to wait 30 minutes. But that was totally fine — during that time you can easily walk around Old Town and, like I did, grab a coffee. One crêpe costs only 5 Baht. You can also get 6 for 25 Baht. I’m happy I tried them. :)

Yes, I had to wait around 30 minutes, but that’s totally normal for something popular. I could’ve decided to leave, but luckily I didn’t — 5 baht for a tasty treat is more than worth it. Absolutely delicious! :)

Delicious handmade coconut crepes, we tried a dozen first and took another two with us to eat later in the day - great snack as an afternoon pick me up! Lovely couple- they have such a brilliant rhythm in the way they work as a team to cook these up. Wonderful to stumble upon small businesses like this in old Phuket town. I don’t think you will find another on Phuket like them. We got there at 10am on a weekday and no line . However they may close earlier than 2pm if they run out of batter! We failed the first day - 1pm was already too late! Be patient .. it takes a few minutes to cook. 12 for 50 Baht. It’s not a mass product 😎 Tip: support local businesses - pick up some shaved ice from the stall next door

I came across this stall in old town and it looked unassuming - i thought how could something so simple be good. One bite and i was blown away. Soft center, crispy sides and subtle sweetness - tasted out of the world. 25 baht for 6 pieces. It’s like Indian dosas or appams rolled. So so so good.

Every time I ate here, it left me with a smile and wanting more. During our 5-night stay in Old Town, I noticed the long line and decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did! It was absolutely lovely, and I found myself craving it every single day.

Fantastic pancakes and an incredible experience watching them being made, you buy 6 for 25thb there is no seating but they are a traditional snack so you can eat while walking. There is normally a 5 minute wait but is you place your order when you arrive they will eventually serve you. Definitely worth seeking them out and having this traditional experience. The pancakes tasted as though they had sweetened milk and coconut in then. Delicious 🤤

Pancakes made in heaven… Imagine a street stall with repeated recognition by the Guide Michelin… On this street corner in Old Phuket Town this has become reality. And with good reason: here you can have the best pancakes ever. They are prepared over a set of charcoal fired pits inside small domed kettle like pans. The routine between the chef and her assistant is itself a mesmerizing spectacle reminiscent of street hustlers’ cup games.
