The 13 Best New Restaurants in Barcelona | Eater

"In a city whose restaurant scene has been long ruled by the avant-garde, chef Alain Guiard has turned his back on modernist cuisine and returned to his more traditional roots. Located in one of Barcelona’s best-preserved medieval palaces, Restaurante A’s menu is dedicated to large, family-style dishes like Moorish chicken, shrimp carpaccio, and parmentier ravioli with wild mushrooms, truffles, and jamon Iberico. The environment is casual with prices to match, but the food is no less ambitious. For dessert, try the traditional torrijas — like a Spanish french toast — with smoked milk ice cream." - Isabel Conde

We had the chance to dine at a Restaurant inside Hotel Neri, and it was truly a memorable experience. The setting is intimate and beautifully designed, with a peaceful courtyard that feels like a hidden oasis in the heart of the city. The food was exceptional—creative, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish felt carefully thought out, and the service was warm and attentive without being intrusive. A perfect spot for a special evening in Barcelona. Highly recommended!

Only 4.3 starts?! This place is awesome. Food is great, staff is wonderful and atmosphere is excellent. The service was a little slow at times but that’s all. This place should have 4.6 stars at the minimum. We had lunch for a family of 4 with drinks for $150. We didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day.

What an incredible atmosphere. The dishes were really flavourful and presented nicely. Staff was friendly. The bar crafted beautiful cocktails and the wine selection was nice. Gracias!

Celebrated our wedding anniversary here, paid about €45 per person including 4 courses of lunch and 1 glass of wine each. Great place for special occasions, and great food too!

It should be named a+. Nothing but awesomeness from here. Food was amazingly delicious. From the starters to the main course. Wine selections were great too. I don't recall the name of the wine, but this was one of our best restaurants in Barcelona. Service was great, the atmosphere was simply divine. We came for a birthday dinner and our expectations were exceeded.

We went to A Restaurant in Barcelona and left delighted. The food was spectacular, with Mediterranean dishes beautifully presented and full of flavor. But what really made the difference was the treatment of the head waiter, Fernando. From the moment we walked in, Fernando made us feel at home. Attentive, friendly, and super professional, you could tell he's passionate about what he does. He recommended dishes, made us laugh, and paid attention to every detail without being overwhelming. He's the kind of person who turns a good dinner into a memorable experience. The place is also beautiful, with a calm and elegant atmosphere, perfect for a special dinner or simply enjoying good food without rushing. We will definitely return. And a big part of that is thanks to Fernando and his team. A 10!

Absolutely fantastic food! We had a party of 14 and ordered a share menu. I especially enjoyed the chruncy-taco (with red prawns) and the free-range crispy chicken. They were amazing The waiters and waitress were nice and welcoming. The quality of the ingredients was worthy of a high-class restaurant in any city of the world. If you are thinking of visiting Barcelona, try and book to experience this level of great food.

Lovely restaurant inside of the Hotel Neri! Love that this place is located inside an alley and it felt like we were walking into a movie- wear comfortable shoes, this location is not motor-able (our taxi dropped us off at the alley entrance) and the road is cobblestones but it was such a beautiful walk up to the restaurant at night. We came here for a birthday dinner and had the best time, we made a reservation so not so sure about the walk in options - I highly recommend making a reservation. The food was super delicious but I was more impressed with the service, they were so wonderful with the kids!!! They patiently answered all questions and made recommendations, you could tell they wanted us to have a great experience and we did! They have a beautiful spot outside a courtyard if you prefer to dine in the open, it had a fountain (we were told this was cut off cos of winter) the space was so cozy and private, loved every bit of it! Great photo spot!

Yelp
Quiet & romantic restaurant tucked just mere minutes away from the crowds. The food was amazing and the service was (of course! laid back) but equally as awesome! Such a lovely place for a day date! Definitely we will be returning to this place and hopefully the guitar player that was busking in the corner with her heavenly tunes will be there too

Yelp
I was excited to try this place again, but we got there at 4 PM and the kitchen closes early. Their hours of operation showed them open until 5 PM so I was very disappointed to not be able to try their set menus or other menu options. That said, the food was great. Tried the Manhattan (great again, so it's consistent), had the leeks with Burrata (it was really good), the shrimp tacos (raw, ceviche type) were outstanding. Their version of "beef jerky" was deli type meat and was ok, but not beef jerky. Not sure we will make it back again as there are so many other restaurants to try, but the food is good. The hotel this restaurant is in is beautiful!! Looks like it's worth a stay.

Yelp
My husband stumbled across A Restaurant on a walking tour of Barcelona the day before I arrived, and he searched and searched until he found the charming courtyard, to take me to lunch there for my first meal when visiting Spain. And what an *extraordinary* meal it was!!! We HAD to try the Iberian Ham! Was as beautifully presented as it was delicious! Also the Seasonal Tomatoes with olive oil sorbet -- exquisite! And the rice with beef and pork confit. All enjoyed with classic Aperol Spritzes! Truly one of the finest meals we've ever had, and we loved our server -- unfortunately forgot her name but she is originally from Brazil and we loved talking to her about life there and her new life in Barcelona!

Yelp
Luckily I had the privilege of being able to stay in Barcelona for a little over five weeks. I went to many different restaurants throughout my stay in the city, and I can strongly state that this restaurant was hands down the best. From the food, to the drinks, to the service all was exceptional. In specific, I have to say that the bartender Guillermo was amazing. He made the best sangria with cava that I've ever had, and I tried many during my trip...lol. I came back on multiple separate occasions due to the astounding drinks and the ambiance.

Yelp
Croque monsieur was frozen in the middle and smelled like feet (not the best truffle oil). Drinks were wonderful though! Ambiance was also great.

Yelp
We visited from Boston and found this place very hospitable and the food was amazing. The staff treated us like royalty. Would definitely recommend stopping by.

Yelp
Food is very good. Unique and high-end preparation. The location is excellent, facing a quiet courtyard. The environment feels like a club. Tapa-sized portions. So it is expensive.
