"This cozy, red booth hideout on Pacific Coast Highway is known for its Rat Pack atmosphere. The classic martini reigns at the bar and the chicken pot pie is only available on Fridays, but locals love the steaks, the confited Mary’s organic chicken, and pan-seared Niman Ranch pork chops. Put simply: the restaurant is old-school done right. River Jetty Restaurant Group also operates A Restaurant’s sister locales CDM Restaurant, A Crystal Cove, and A Market, which are go-to hot spots in Newport Beach." - Jenn Tanaka

This place was amazing. Everything was excellent, the service, the food, the atmosphere. I wish I could have tried all the dishes on the menu. They all looked so good. I tried the Chilean sea bass and it was perfect. The Madeleines for dessert were exquisite 😍

Google
Fantastic food! The rack of lamb was maybe the best I've ever had. The creamed spinach certainly was. Everything we ordered was exceptional. The service is top drawer. Very professional and attentive without being over bearing. The place has an old school vibe and charm to it although it's a little dark. I would definitely rate A Restaurant at the top of the other high end restaurants in OC

Google
9 hours from home and it is with every minute of the drive to revisit! Traveling through the area took a chance on all the reviews being honest - everyone was spot on. The food is amazing, the services is prompt and polite, and if you are there at the end of the dinner service the chief makes his rounds visiting. All six of us had amazing tasting and beautifully presented seafood.

Went out for our anniversary and were very disappointed. We expected a nice romantic upscale dinner and got far from it. 2 ppl, we paid over 250 for dinner an would have rather had mcdonalds. The food was bland, asparagus undercooked, steak was good but I've had better for less money. The atmosphere was loud and obnoxious. The poor couple across from us had their chairs stolen, and butts from the drunk ppl at the bar practically in their plate! The table next to us literally stood up at the end of our table and started watching videos on their phone, looked like they were filing us at the zoo from our side. Horrible experience and nothing about the overpriced mess would make me want to give it a second chance. The only reason I gave it any stars was the service. Stacy was great and did her best. Thank you mam, you made the date suck a little less.

Google
Always a great experience! Let your server (we always ask for Steven) curate your meal and you'll never be disappointed! Great wines and cocktails! All of the food is fantastic! Try here and you'll always come back... It can be noisy but that's part of it's East Coast steakhouse charm. A bustling bar scene!

Google
An absolutely perfect spot for a romantic dinner! It exudes classic elegance, with a warm and intimate ambiance that sets the mood beautifully. The food was exquisite—every dish was thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor. The server, Casey, was impeccable, attentive yet unobtrusive, making the entire evening feel special. Whether it’s a date night, an anniversary, or just a night out, this place is a timeless choice for a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend!

Google
A Restaurant is a historic establishment in Newport Beach. The main dining room setting is mostly old fashion red leather half circle booths, comfortable and less noisy than the bar area. I had dinner there on a Sunday night. The staffs were all polite and attentive. I had octopus in many fine dining restaurants. Their Fried Spanish Octopus is the best. It was tender inside yet slightly crispy outside. The Hamachi Crudo had a nice presentation. The ribeye steak, mango cheesecake were all good. My server Steven made the dinner more enjoyable. I will definitely visit them again.

Google
“A Restaurant” has a wonderful vibe, with an abundance of locals. It’s clearly a great spot to grab drinks and unwind. However, as someone who travels often and dines at establishments this place aims to compare with, I found the experience underwhelming. Simply put, “A Restaurant” serves glorified bar food with the notable exception of their steaks, which were excellent. The charcuterie board lacked presentation and came in a disappointingly small portion. The calamari, while served with a great sauce, was heavily over-breaded. The Mac & Cheese was subpar, and though the steaks were a highlight, our server forgot the steak sauce after asking, which added to the overall letdown. After this, receiving a $400 check felt hard to justify. There are countless places across the country that run circles around this restaurant.

Yelp
The second you walk in, you will instantly be confident in your selection for dinner. The atmosphere is incredible!!! Everyone is having so much fun. I enjoy a dim lighting and i like sound at restaurants. This place is live!!! THey had on the Yankees playoff game too. I was worried i was underdressed but its a casual vibe for sure. The server was Lindsey. She was overly nice. She gave us great recommendations and i followed her advice. The bread was legendary! I also ordered the Caesar salad, it was easily the best salad i have had. They even had the anchovies on it!!! Now, i could have left right here right now and would have been overly pumped but of course, i had to pig out. So i ordered the Filet Mignon. It was insanely great!!! The garlic that comes with it is a must. It was cooked to perfection too. Such a fantastic meal. I highly recommend A's to anyone looking for a great meal at a stellar location. 5 out of 5 for sure. I could eat here daily!!!!

Yelp
I wasn't impressed by the service or the restaurant. I found the restaurant to be incredibly loud. My friend, I sat next to, could barely hear me over the noise. I don't recommend this restaurant to people without decent hearing. Our waiter was impatient and abrupt. We were in and out on a busy night in less than an hour. I would have liked to enjoy my nice evening out by having a more lingering experience, but our waiter had no time for that. My friend ordered the pot pie which she enjoyed. The presentation was impressive with the oversized pastry billowing over the dish. I ordered the 16-ounce rib eye. It was cooked perfectly but had more fat than meat. On the flip side, if you're looking for a hip, vibey place to hang out on a Friday night, their bar appears it would fill that need greatly. Parking is mostly Valet, which takes some patients too at their busy times.

Yelp
My wife and I have been talking about coming here for a long time. We had a good reason to celebrate so we decided to finally go. We could not have been happier. The food was excellent. We got the white corn lobster soup, hearts of palm salad, broccolini, filet, and ribeye. Everything was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The standout though was the service. We had outdoor reservations, but they easily accommodated us by finding a nice table in the main restaurant. All of the staff were amazingly helpful with suggestions, service, etc. Corkage is $35 for reference. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

Saira S.

Yelp
Stellar service and fine dining ambiance! Food is absolutely top notch, our favorites being the filet mignon and lobster tail. This is definitely the place to celebrate a special occasion with family, friends or on a date! Very classy and opulent.

Kristine S.

Yelp
One of my very favorites time after time. Top notch service, excellent food and such a cool and relaxing vibe. The pot pie on Friday nights is delicious and the hottest food you will ever have! The steaks are perfect and the sides are amazing. Mac and cheese is super creamy and yummy. Asparagus is great as well. Always a fan of A Restaurant!

Lynn Z.

Yelp
We had amazing food, the service from the staff was shot on, soft lighting created a cozy and elegant feel, the decor can contributes to the restaurant's personality and staff's presentation and the overall environment made for an excellent dining experience.

David C.

Yelp
I wasn't expecting the place to be small, BUT the steak is the best I've had!!! Hands down. Can't complain about the service. We dislike the fact the bill showed "Employee Benefits" though it's optional to pay. One love to my guy Kimo!!

Raven R.

Yelp
Came here for dinner. Our server was really nice and answered all our questions. They started us off with complimentary sourdough bread and butter which we thoroughly enjoyed. We ordered the filet mignon, lobster tail, mac and cheese, roasted carrots, and an ice cream sundae for dessert. The filet mignon was cooked to our desired temperature and was juicy and finished with herb butter. The lobster tails were delicious and the charred lemon that came with it added a burst of freshness. The mac and cheese was cheesy and the crust on top had a pleasant crisp. Roasted carrots were good with a hint of sweetness. The sundae was a nice end to the meal and brought back some childhood nostalgia. Overall a wonderful experience!

Jade M.

Yelp
This was such a great experience. We were celebrating a big birthday. They were very accommodating for our large party. The food was so delicious the steak was cooked perfectly, but maybe because our party was so big our steak got a little lost or forgotten. We received our sides almost 15 minutes before our steak. The sides were served cool not hot. The vibe was pretty intimate lighting was low, but the environment was so loud I could have almost lost my voice from yelling over the volume.

Mark W.

Yelp
Not that impressed; bar and servers are amazing. Food is OK Big dude being selective who sits where trying to get people to leave. I had filet mignon and asparagus so so ate at another restaurant last night much better just my choice .. not coming back.

Thomas T.

Yelp
Came here the other night and had a fantastic dinner with amazing food and service. Even though we didn't have a reservation we were able to get seated quickly. Started with the Octopus and let me say I'm not a huge calamari or octopus lover but this one was on point and another level. Super crispy, and the sauce that came with it was superb! Highly recommend this app. I then got the boneless Ribeye and loved every bite of it. Perfect marbling and flavor. If you don't like this steak you're a dufus seriously. A Ribeye is supposed to be fatty and have good marbling. That's why it tastes so great. My lady friend got the Filet and she said it was one of the best she's ever had. She devoured it. We also got a Cesar which I loved as well as a side of Mac N Cheese and Carrots. Both were phenomenal side dishes. No complaints on them. Finished the night off with a slice of the 3 chocolate cake. Omg. So good. Amazing dinner and service. Our server was on point the entire time. He was super friendly, humorous and helpful the entire night. Highly recommend coming to A's!

Cindy N.

Yelp
Went here with a few gfs for a birthday dinner. Overall I enjoyed my dining experience. We had reservations and had to wait a little bit before we were seated. Once we were seated we got a chance to browse the menu. We decided on a few items, Hamachi crudo, Spicy Yellowfin Tuna, Jumbo Diver Scallops, chicken pot pie, roasted beets and tomatoes. Hamachi crudo was my favorite out of everything ordered. I also enjoyed the spicy yellowfin tuna. Everything was pretty good but I'd have to say the pot pie was highly recommended by the waitress but I'd have to say it fell short for me. It was just ok. Had the Maple bacon old fashion and it's also worth a try. Nice atmosphere for a date or just to hang out with some friends and grab a bite to eat or some drinks. Parking is ample, valet is also available.

Mohammad H.

Yelp
Love the style of the restaurant very antique steakhouse feels with the dark aesthetic. Nice cushioned seats facing the bar perfect for people watching. Steak tartare was great filled with flavor the aioli on the side was a great touch. I liked the eggplant instead of the rice for spicy yellowtail good change in flavor. Octopus was also good. For entrees we had the burger and the chicken. Burger was more of a bar snack off menu. Chicken was tender. Drinks were refreshing and well balanced.

Diana T.

Yelp
We came here for a birthday after passing by so many times and we all thought it was ok. We order the hangar steak, boneless ribeye, and Mary's chicken. The hangar (medium rare) and chicken were actually very good! Tender and full of flavor. However, my rib eye (also cooked medium rare) was tough and overcooked. The sides (broccolini, asparagus, mushrooms) were just ok as well. Drinks were just ok as well, and I felt like they were made generically and didn't really stand out. We also thought the calamari had a nice twist on it with some ginger and tangy tastes, but small portions. Overall just ok.

Yelp
We had a beautiful night celebrating our daughter's 7th birthday tonight at A. We were seated quickly and taken to our preferred seat outside in their beautiful covered seating area. Chandeliers and twinkling lights decorated the space, and the cold winter air was warmed up with tall heaters. Lindsey greeted us quickly with a sweet smile and joyful spirit. Our daughter was welcomed with a precious birthday card signed by the staff! Way to go above and beyond!! Lindsey reviewed drink selections with us and my husband and I started with cocktails, both were tasty. For appetizers we enjoyed the mushroom soup, the fall salad, and the hamachi crudo. All were fabulous!! For dinner we enjoyed perfectly cooked A5 steak, filet, and the hearts of palm salad. The A5 was beautiful, melt in your mouth- show stopping wow- the filet had a nice flavor and was cooked perfectly. I always love hearts of palm so for me that was also a win. For desert we enjoyed a beautiful birthday ice cream and fresh berries along with the apple pie. We cannot wait to return. Rafel was also amazing refilling our water glasses before they even reached half full and clearing dishes. Great work everyone! We will be back. Parking is $7.00 valet and the staff is great, friendly, and efficient.

Yelp
Dined in one of the booths across from the bar on 12/28 830pm. Love the ambiance. We waited a while before our server came to greet us. I feel like especially with the main walkway along these booths to the kitchen it's important for guests to be greeted as we see it as sitting there meanwhile several employees walk by. Finally someone came to give us water and we asked if we can get a drink order in and he said we have to wait for our server. The tartar and meatball appetizers were better than our entrees. I had the scallops and risotto entree which was underwhelming in flavor. Once the server came by service was good.

Thora B.

Yelp
Went here for a business dinner and it was very good. Great ambiance and service was excellent. Food was very good and I enjoyed my cocktails.

Sarah H.

Yelp
Wow! We honestly didn't realize this was a steakhouse driving by until a vendor of mine mentioned he took his wife first their anniversary. So for our anniversary we decided to make reservations. We sat outside and had live music. Service was amazing and the food was absolutely incredible. Their steaks have so much flavor, tender and juicy. They brought us a dessert with a candle to celebrate our anniversary which was such a sweet touch. This has become one of our favorites and we will be going back soon!

Lonnie M.

Yelp
For so long, I considered Flemings and Ruth Chris the best steakhouses, but A Restaurant just took the top spot. This cozy, beautifully kept historic restaurant serves up some of the best food I have ever had. Their "choose a la carte" charcuterie was the highest quality meats and cheeses we have ever tasted. Our steaks were cooked to beefy perfection and well seasoned. Did I mention the table bread? It's so addicting!! Lovely wine list as well. Their lowest priced red bottle was super high quality. The server was very kind and attentive, as was everyone else. Great for date night or any night. Just make sure to get reservations. Worth the $, this place excels in service, quality, and deliciousness.

Simon K.

Yelp
There are several places you can go to spend $200 for 2 people. And they should wow you. This place does not. The boneless ribeye steak was average. In fact it was slightly overcooked and tough, even though it was ordered medium rare. It is so dark inside this restaurant that you can't see your food well enough to evaluate it when it arrives. The previous time we visited, the Japanese beef was slightly sinuy. Yet the Japanese mushrooms that came with it were amazing. Conversely the regular side of mushrooms on the menu are average. Likewise the mashed potato puree was amazing but the French fries were average. The Caesar salad was pretty good with a nice homemade dressing. The Spicy Yellowfin Tuna on top of tempura eggplant slices was average. The previous time we visited, the meatball appetizer was amazing. The Brussels sprout leaves were average.

Steve D.

Yelp
Was loud in the main restaurant, but we had made reservations on the patio (a tent in back of parking lot). Vibe there was chill and oddly elegant, nice lighting, heaters, and well-spaced tables. We tried cocktails, calamari, a 'fall salad', scallops in curry, and the pork chop. Service (Casey) was flawless, and dishes were all very well-prepared. My only gripe would be that menu is traditional enough that it verges on boring. Also on the pricey side. A very solid meal, but won't be a regular stop.

Krissy L.

Yelp
Met some girlfriends for a night of catching up over drinks and apps. The bartender was fantastic so the only star goes to him! Sitting at the bar it quickly became crowded, loud, and full of people staring us down for our seats. We all mentioned it turned into an uncomfortable vibe as soon as the local vultures ascended into their spots behind us loudly discussing who was going to take what seat of ours, why are we not leaving yet, etc. In fact, when we got our bill a man leaned in to us to comment that it was about time, that they had been waiting for over an hour and all we were doing was talking. Excuse me? Before we were half off our bar stools him and his party were quickly seated in our spot by staff so I assume they go there often and act like entitled jerks. All four of us talked about how we will never go back based off the vibe alone. If you want to go someplace to eat quickly, not have conversation and get pushed out the door--this is the place for you. If you want to leisurely enjoy your evening with your company, find another place to go--Plenty of other great restaurants near by. So disappointing.

Yelp
Came on a Thursday night around 7:30 with a party of 3. We were able to make a reservation the same day. The interior design and ambiance is nice, a little old fashioned but still modern. Spicy Yellowfin Tuna - Fun play on spicy tuna crispy rice. Eggplant tempura was super crispy and tuna was fresh and well seasoned. A Burger - Decent burger, juicy and indulgent but a lot of blue cheese. Ask for no blue cheese or get it on the side if you arent a fan. We were able to sub the regular fries for truffle fries! Charred Octopus - Chorizo a little over done. It was pretty hard and dry. Not a lot of octopus, more potato and chorizo but octopus was decent. Probably wouldnt order again. Dirty Pasta - Pretty good but nothing special. Pasta was a little overcooked but sauce was still tasty. Brussel Sprouts - Super crispy with some kind of sweet savory balsamic glaze/sauce. The food was pretty tasty and staff were very kind. Drinks were strong but good. Food came out a little slowly but no big deal. The Spicy Yellowfin Tuna is a must try and dont miss the free photo booth near the restroom on your way out!

Yelp
A Restaurant is a long standing bar and restaurant dating back to 1926. Yes, I said 1926. What an Incredible experience it is dining here. The staff is wonderfully trained and knowledgeable about every item on the menu as well as wine pairings. I ordered an old fashioned as I'm not a huge wine drinker, however the rest of my party is. The old fashioned is one of the best I've ever had. Perfectly concocted and Del ious to the last drop. I had a spicy tuna appetizer that was outstanding. The tuna was fresh as if it had just been caught and filleted. The flavors were Delicious and the fish melted in your mouth. For entree I had the filet with potato purée. The filet was delivered exactly as ordered and was absolutely moist, tender and full of flavor. The potato purée was also outstanding. The staff at A is amazing, the food is absolutely delicious and the ambience and decor is delightfully vintage and old school. Coming to A is like taking a time warp back to a time where things were delightfully simple and refined. Please come to dinner here and be as amazed as I was in all facets of this establishment. They have valet parking as well.

Mike J.

Yelp
This place has the best steak in town Great ambience and great food This is a great place to go and have dinner and especially for special occasions

Shannon M.

Yelp
Such a great experience last night..ordered the filet and pomme puree both were excellent!! Love the vibe we had a great booth in the bar area and celebrated my birthday. Highly recommend and will be going back!!

Kenny L.

Yelp
Great foods, excellent services We ordered the Charcuterie Board, which was very tasty ,Vegetables dish was clean and good, pork belly with serano chili very good, grill octopus was excellent, cesar salad, steak was very good cooked just right and juicy, seared scallops was OK, my wife didn't like to sauce, halibut was just perfect. Stacey, our waitress was tentative, and the other waiters were very good as well, and the food came out quickly. We'll be back.

Stanley R.

Yelp
We came here for dinner with our best and oldest friends tonight! We had the best time! You will need reservations. I called Tuesday for Sunday night, and had a choice of 5:15 or 7:45. This place is crowded with regulars. There wasn't a seat at the bar when we were seated (on time!). The service was super friendly and as good as you can possibly hope for or expect. Steven was our waiter and (I think) the manager! What a total pro! His service was like he was serving his favorite aunties and uncles. The atmosphere was dark and classy and fun and loud and perfect. The food was scrumptious. I had the hanger steak and it was a flavorful piece of meat perfectly cooked rare, tender and yummy! This is a classy old-fashioned menu with high quality meats butchered on site. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. I really didn't think I would like this place but it was terrific. I have a new favorite restaurant, but I will make reservations well in advance next time.

Jenny F.

Yelp
Have dined here a few times but this most recent visit was by far the best. Our server Lindsey was fabulous. Brought my friend for dinner who is from out of state and we really enjoyed our meal. The wine list is extensive with many great options. Had the filet and a Caesar salad, and calamari for an appetizer. Everything was so good. Minimal wait time with reservation. Easy parking access and clean bathrooms. Love the dim lighting perfect for a date night or special occasion

Fiona T.

Yelp
The restaurant vibe itself was nice to be in and it seemed very energetic the night we went in. However for the price we paid I don't think it was worth it. Ordered the custom charcuterie plate, Cesar salad, and the scallop dish (menu changes seasonally). The food was good but not show stopping. The service was a bit disappointing as well since we asked for no croutons on the salad (twice) due to a dietary restriction and they still added them. Overall, I can't recommend the visit but may be fun to check out for the ambiance itself (maybe grab a cocktail at the bar or a glass of wine).

Albert M.

Yelp
nt on a busy holiday weeknight and the place runs like greased lightning. Professionals everywhere - hostess, managers, servers - everyone knows what they're doing. Red booths - if you see a restaurant with all red booths...eat there. Drinks on point. Steak on point. Great atmosphere. This is why people go to restaurants. Can't wait to come back.

Bob H.

Yelp
Food was great and the drinks were good! We had an older woman with short black hair as our server. We were a party of younger guys, she seems like she just blew us off as not a good tip opportunity for her based on our age. One of my mates ordered a drink and she replied, "kind of a fruity choice, you okay with that?".. it was just awkward and caused a weird moment for the table. I heard her brief an incoming waiter (maybe shift change idk) while I was coming back from the bathroom and she pointed to our table and said, "they ordered but they need to hurry up." We were there for like 30 mins at that point and our food order was in. Once I closed out, she waited till I filled out the check right in front of her. I normally tip incredibly generously as I worked in food service before, but I didn't with her. She wanted to treat me like lower class then she got it.

Nerissa C.

Yelp
First time dining here and heard a lot of good things about it from the locals. Be prepared to adjust your eyes because the atmosphere was dark, cozy and dare I say, romantic. We arrived for an early dinner (5pm-ish) so we were able to get seated right away. The gentleman that seated us was also the manager, it seemed. He was very charismatic, knowledgeable and funny! We ordered food in a family style where we all picked at some appetizers, salads and dishes. Hands down, everything was delicious! I wished I had all the food to myself. My only complaint is that it was difficult to read the menus because of how dark it was but other than that, I cannot wait to come back with my husband and have him try!

Randi B.

Yelp
Crazy to think this place has been around since 1926 and I had never even heard of it! We had dinner here with friends, of course we ordered a ton of food, and I loved pretty much everything I tried. Service was impeccable from start to finish. Our waiter checked on us constantly, drinks were topped off before we even finished the ones we had, plates were cleared immediately, water was filled non-stop. Seriously AMAZING service. They give you a fresh loaf (like straight out of the oven, burn your fingers hot) of french bread with butter as soon as you sit down, and they aren't shy about bringing more (still piping hot) if you want it. Appetizers - Hamachi Crudo & Meatballs. These were both solid, tasty appetizers, but not mind blowing. I preferred the Meatballs to the Hamachi (and the Hamachi is the one I wanted the most), but I honestly feel we could have skipped the appetizers and not missed anything. Starters - Caesar Salad & French Onion Soup. I had the salad. When it was set in front of me I thought it looked dry, but it wasn't. Each piece of lettuce was coated just enough with their yummy caesar dressing, and my favorite part was the fried capers that topped the salad. This was large, I split it with the table and we didn't finish the whole thing. I tried a bite of the French Onion soup and that broth was phenomenal! So rich and delicious. I was jealous of my friend who ordered it and got to eat all the melted cheese! Entrees - Salmon, Halibut, Bone-in Ribeye, and Hanger Steak. The steaks were delish, cooked to perfection. Loved that they serve them with a whole head of roasted garlic to spread on the meat. YUM. I tried a bite of the salmon and it was good! My halibut was great, absolutely loved the lemon risotto, saffron beurre blanc, and artichoke hearts. I though my meal was excellent, and I didn't leave any behind to take home. Sides - Bistro Fries, Potato Puree, Grilled Asparagus, and Cumin Roasted Baby Carrots. The fries were fine, but what made them was the truffle aioli served with them. Bummed to find out when we got home they didn't include any sauce in the to go bag, will definitely ask for that in the future if we get it again. Potato Puree was sooooo good, I seriously could have eaten the entire ramekin. So smooth and decadent! Asparagus were great, some of the thickest I have even seen! Carrots were good, loved the roasted almonds on them for texture. Desserts - Apple Cheesecake & Corn Madeleines. I had one bite of the cheesecake and it was good! A bit too light for what I expect of cheesecake (not dense at all) but the apple flavor was nice, like an apple pie. The Madeleines were the hit of the desserts, and maybe my favorite thing I had all night! Savory like cornbread, with a hint of sweetness, crunchy on the sides. They are served with berries and fresh whipped cream, I did think the cream was very good, but I could honestly pop those babies in my mouth with nothing on them, they were crazy good! Dinner was about $150 per person, but we also ordered a lot of food, and many drinks...probably 8 glasses of beer/wine/cocktails. Parking is valet only, $7 and they accept credit cards. I'm so glad I found out about this place, I will not hesitate to come back. Great ambiance, delicious food, and excellent service. No wonder they have been around so long!

Yelp
Amazing food and service. The ambiance is great, and energy is refreshing. Everyone was having a great time. Servers were knowledgeable on the menu and quality of food is solid. Would definitely recommend for a date or with friends. Cocktails are outstanding.

Cassandra C.

Yelp
This place is so fun! We had resos for 6 right at 5 when it opened and found there already to be a line waiting for the restaurant to open. It looked like valet parking only. Service was great, the waiters came by frequently to check in on us. The drinks were good and refilled quickly. Food wise, many of us had the branzino fish which came with a risotto and veggies. Note their menu is seasonal so may change. The meal overall was good, but fish was a bit lacking in flavor. By the end of dinner the restaurant was PACKED with lots of people crowded around the bar. The inside of the restaurant looked very divey, mainly dark with mood lighting. Would be a fun bar to grab drinks at instead of having dinner as well.

Arolyn B.

Yelp
I love those place. Food is always on point. As locals we are sure to run into friends. It kinda feels lime cheers in this cozy, friendly, delicious, upscale casual place. I keep meaning to take pictures but the food is so good when it arrives, i chow down! Kim is an awesome server. Love the vibe here.

Yelp
we celebrated my birthday at A.. had a great time - be prepared to spend a little $ but worth it. Brian (please forgive me if i got your name wrong- you were fabulous and wore a vest on weds.) started with the carpaccio, then the casear (split portion shown) ; filet, hangar steak, fries and was surprised with a great birthday ice cream to compliment the corn madelines we ordered. Filet is fabulous - tender and perfect at medium rare. (Yes pricey but my health conscious companion even liked it!) the bar area can get loud so if your people watching or in that mood, book that. we were in the back room and were able to have a nice conversation wrapped in great ambiance noise.

Yelp
Not going to say much because there's to much to say.Food 10/10. Server 10/10. Staff 10/10.Everything was amazing our server made us feel welcomed and knew everything on the menu. Definitely will be coming back.My favourite steakhouse i've ever been too.

Yelp
The exterior of the restaurant appeared rather unassuming, resembling a barn to me. However, stepping inside revealed an incredible 1920s vintage ambiance, complete with red leather sofas. Despite arriving a few minutes early and noticing a line forming at the entrance, our reservations secured us a charming booth at the back of the restaurant. The appetizers, from the freshly baked bread to the brussel sprouts, were spot-on. The main courses complemented the appetizers perfectly, and I highly recommend trying the chicken pot pie. Unfortunately, the sides fell short of expectations.

Yelp
If you're thinking about having a celebration dinner for anniversary or anything, this is definitely the restraunt to go to! Customer service was so pleasant, our waiter Santiago was so professional and kind. He greeted us friendly, checked in on us often, gave recommendations on the menu, and even gave us complimentary anniversary bubbles (champagne)! My partner ordered the filet mignon and I ordered the Mary's Chicken, both were so delicious and top tier! I would definitely order them again. The ambiance of the restaurant was romantic as well, perfect for an anniversary dinner. Overall, A Restaurant definitely lives up to its name!

Yelp
OK OK OK... Made a reservation . We got to the restaurant. (20 minutes early.) The place was hopping. We were told they had a table for us already, we were so excited, until, we saw where the table was directly smack dab in front of the kitchen doors swinging back-and-forth. Of course I did my thing and said, can we have that booth over there or can we have that booth over there? No luck all the tables were reserved. OK OK ... Onto our meal . I cannot figure out for the life of me why this restaurant is so crowded. The food is so mediocre. I tried so hard to get behind the tuna and eggplant appetizer, but they smothered the tuna in a cream sauce so unnecessary let the fresh fish speak for itself. Again, I wanted to like the octopus appetizer. Fried charred octopus. ( I'm not sure why they didn't just stop at the charred part, frying it, just devalued it) OK OK... We shared a salmon with couscous sauce on the side, and also the asparagus on the side. I laughed so hard when they brought out this tiny ramekin of cut up asparagus only enough for a child. Again, I was thinking why is this place so crowded. I am definitely the type to always make the best of any given situation. So laughing kept us entertained and the amazing beautiful bottle of red wine our friends so graciously brought for the evening . The demographics on Saturday night were very interesting. It's family friendly, tons of seniors, and then this oddly prevalent 20 something crowd at the bar. This is an incredibly large restaurant. ( reminiscent of an old fashioned Italian restaurant ) I could not figure out how the 20 Something's were finding this so appealing. it's very dark and stuffy, no windows. And everything was completely outdated to the point of nausea. I was still scratching my head in the morning. OK OK ... onto the next restaurant, please

Yelp
I think this restaurant has a lot of potential -- The interior is moody, retro, and sexy, and gives an air of elegance. However, I feel like I visited on an off night or maybe there is a mismatch between the ambiance and what I was anticipating based on the vibe of their website/Yelp. The bar can get a little rowdy/crowded and it is very loud in there which kind of takes away from the dimly-lit romantic steakhouse vibe, but it might be different on the weekdays. The wait for a table was extensive even with a reservation. Our main server wasn't particularly friendly and we were passed off to various different waitstaff -- again, not an issue but was there to celebrate a birthday so having to flag down a new person when wanting to order something else was slightly confusing. The food was fine, the steak was the star of the show and I found it to be adequate. The table bread was delicious. Cocktails were good. I think the food was the saving grace of the night, albeit slightly overpriced. Although I do not think I will be returning, I think this is a good spot for someone looking for a more fun casual date night vibe with a bar and good food.

Yelp
We went here for a birthday celebration anticipating a wonderful food experience and unfortunately 4 of the 5 meals we had were just a huge disappointment. We ordered the duck liver pate and squash blossoms for appetizers ...duck liver was not seasoned properly in my opinion it tasted very gamey..the berry confidential helped brighten the flavor...the squash blossoms were delicious...the only star of this pricey yet extremely underwhelming meal...the dirty pasta should have had a hint of sage instead the sage overpowered the whole dish...the 69.00 Ribeye had a thick vein of grizzle running through the middle of it and the truffle fries were not crispy...cold...think and unpleasant...the server was very nice and attentive...I will not be going back to A Restaurant..

Yelp
22 oz Bone In Ribeye 9.68/10- this was so tender and soft in the middle. The garlic butter on top had added lots of flavor to it and made it very rich. There was generous marbling on the ribeye. I really liked how they served it with garlic cloves as it complemented the ribeye incredibly. Filet Mignon Mac and cheese side dish 8.36/10- this was so good, it had white cheddar, aged cheddar, and Parmesan. The portion is a bit small however it is incredibly rich in flavor and I loved the crisp Parmesan found on top. Great pairing with the steak Spicy yellowfin tuna 8.34/10- I loved how the spicy yellowfin tuna was served on crispy eggplant. I found that to be very unique and the flavor of the eggplant complemented the tuna very well surprisingly. The chili aioli and sweet soy sauce also were perfect for the dish as it really balanced it Spicy calamari 7.42/10 very chewy and delicious, a bit too fried for my liking. I really enjoyed the sweet tangy sauce that it was served in, it was a mix of sweet and spicy and sour Siracha sauce. I loved the crunchiness and taste that the peanuts added to the dish as well as the subtle hint of ginger and scallions included in the dish that really brought out the flavor of the calamari Wild mushroom soup 8.22/10- I really enjoyed the mushroom flavor and I believe they also put truffle in this as there was a very strong and rich flavor evident in the soup. There's also a puff pastry in the soup which is so good, buttery, and perfect flaky on the outside while being soft on the inside This restaurant is packed so make sure to make reservations before. Also quite a fun bar, however their food is very good and the service is great.
