I love this bookstore and its excellent coffee shop. I can come to sample the books before I bring them home with a cup of coffee and a sandwich. The store is not very big—it's just the perfect size to fit many good books in there. The coffee shop inside the bookstore is excellent. I like the breakfast sandwich the most. I have always enjoyed visiting A Seat at the Table Books. I think you will, too!

Google
One of the cutest places I've been in a while. I needed coffee and they had just what I needed. Not overly fancy and no overcomplicated menu. The book options were excellent for their small size and they even had a little play area for small children. The staff were very friendly. Will definitely go again!

Google
This place was well stocked and organized. I found the new Wicked prequel that I was looking for. There were also a lot of local authors and poetry. There's a lot of gifts, pins, local stickers, jewelry and more! The cafe closed earlier than the book store so I'll have to go earlier to get a drink. I don't think they had any dairy free pastry options.

I love A Seat at the Table Books! I found this gem of a store a couple of years ago and have been a consistent customer ever since. This is so much more than just a independent bookstore and cafe. It's a safe space, a queer space, a welcoming space, and a much needed third place. They have a stacked events calendar featuring local authors, book clubs, and events just for kids. They have something for everyone, so check them out!

Google
So happy that we found this bookstore! It's a little bit of a drive (about 30 min) from where I live but well worth the trip. We love being able to support local/indie bookstores where we can, and the vibe here is so inclusive and welcoming for those of us kinda on the fringes of society. Safe space to hang, find a new book to love, and the events they put on are super fun 😊

Google
The most adorable, inclusive bookshop/café ever. The welcoming and chill environment is wonderful. The staff is amazing and the place is filled with best books and goods to buy. The cold brew was delicious! Make sure to check out the upcoming events when you stop in! Shop local!

I love this place! I come here whenever I have the chance to. The staff makes this place super awesome because they are super welcoming and friendly. I enjoy coming here to work as well as meet local people. Additionally, they have events all the time which makes this place even better. The coffee variety is awesome for those who like different flavors. I generally come here specifically for lattes because that’s my go to drink. I enjoy bringing my child here as well as they can play in the kids area. Also, I like picking up books for them here, because the selection is really unique. most of all I just like the ambience of this place as they are open to everyone and support the community. Definitely recommend it. Pros: staff, books, coffee, community Cons: popular

This is such an incredible bookstore and a must visit! I have done a few author events with A Seat At The Table Bookstore, and It has been such a wonderful experience. The staff is so knowledgeable about the beautiful world of literature, and they are incredibly kind and welcoming. Every chance I get to do an author event with them, I jump at the chance! I have worked now with over ten bookstores across northern california, and without question, they host the best events! From author panels to book fairs to open mics nights and vinal wine pairing nights!! I highly encourage anyone looking for a bookstore to spend their afternoon at to come on by A Seat At The Table Books, grab a novel or two, a delicous cup coffee, and stay awhile. Support local and come check them out!

Yelp
I love stopping into A Seat at the Table Books and Cafe when I'm in the area. Often, I'll stop in for a coffee and end up browsing the books while I sip on my drink. I love seeing what's new and what the staff are highlighting. Their drinks are great and I really like trying the seasonal drinks and special drinks they offer. It's nice that they offer a good variety of items, including wine and beer. It makes it the perfect place to hang for people of all ages- and who doesn't want a cozy spot to enjoy a drink and some time reading. Check out their social media and website for their latest events. They're always planning something fun. It's a really clean, bright, and inclusive space and such a great option in Elk Grove.

Yelp
A Seat at the Table Books and Coffee is a great place to browse through the shelves for books to purchase, and a nice place to sit, order food or drinks, if you want to sit and relax. You can pull out your tablet and get some work in, read, or just enjoy a drink or meal. There are plenty of tables. The coffee shop is open til 4:00 pm, but the bookstore stays open until 7:00 pm. The store is tucked away in a strip mall on Laguna Springs Drive in Elk Grove with an Urgent Care and stores on both sides. There is parking available.

Yelp
This is a community-based inclusive bookstore complete with a cafe, community resource section, lots of zines, and even a plant swap shelf. Great light, looks like the perfect place to spend time reading or getting some work done. Impressive/eclectic selection--saw a lot of titles from small presses that I haven't seen on the shelves of indie bookstores in the Bay Area, so it's great to see that they support these publishers too and lesser known writers. Mostly new, but a wall of used books as well for sale. Staff were really kind and friendly, they genuinely wanted to have a conversation and get to know their customers. I also met the owner who was the same--genuine, very pleasant and welcoming. It's clear they are focused on building a community and not just people who come in just to buy things. They also host many events (see calendar). Food and coffee were good. Looking forward to a return visit the next time I am in the area!

Yelp
THIS IS A GREAT BOOKSTORE! I love how they have a sensory room, a play area, a cafe and a wide variety of inclusive books to ensure everyone is welcome and feels seen. Anytime I am in the Elk Grove area, I like to check out this bookstore. One time I wanted a specific book but they did not have it in stock so the staff had it ordered for me. I enjoy their unique and fun items in the store. I love their drinks at the cafe and their food. I highly recommend you check out A Seat at the Table Books!

Yelp
How can you give a bookstore a low rating? Especially during a time when major bookstores are closed. It's literally a place for one to relax, read and enjoy a drink or food from the cafe. I appreciate A Seat At The Table, it's an inclusive and welcoming environment with a plethora of interesting books.

Yelp
Lovely neighborhood book store & coffee shop. Great place to browse through books, grab a cup of coffee & meal and grab yourself a seat at the table. Friendly staff & inviting atmosphere. Just don't expect it to be silent as people like to mingle here.

Yelp
We happened to pass by here, so we decided to try their Latte. Their drink was good and not too warm. The place has many books, which is great. The staff is friendly. They also have story time for the kids, which is even cooler. The plaza has plenty of parking.

Yelp
My book order was ready when promised, and the staff is very nice. I enjoyed the vibe and appreciate the way things are set up for customers to browse or pull up a chair to read and enjoy with a snack if one chooses.

Yelp
I can't believe today was my first visit to this delightful cafe and bookstore! What a beautiful establishment. Super friendly people - employees and patrons. Really cool boutique with unique gift options. I ordered a latte and it was delicious. The ambiance was warm, welcoming and positive. I was able to work from my computer and relax a little. No weird energy, just a super cool place with real people Will definitely be heading back soon!

Yelp
What a gem of a place! In spite of frequenting the area, I didn't even know this cafe existed until I looked up coffee shops in town. I arrived close to opening so I got to enjoy an extra freshly brewed cup of coffee--dark, delicious and piping hot. Seating is aplenty so it's a good spot to work and study. Service was warm and friendly. There was nice jazzy, ambient music playing. I didn't get to deep dive into their book selection but did notice that they have top sellers along with a wide variety of inclusive reads. Love it.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick coffee this morning. I've been here a couple of times before and was always pleased with their coffee offerings. Today was no exception. The barista was cheerful and friendly. I ordered a sugar free Carmel latte. I wanted it breve but they had run out of half and half. Oh well. They have a nice collection of books and it's quiet! There is music playing but it plays softly in the background and so you can still have a nice conversation. If you're looking for a nice quiet place where you can browse some books, drink a nicely done beverage and enjoy a quiet conversation, this is it!

Yelp
A great safe place to hang out and have coffee, tea and some menu food items. Lots of events going here throughout the month. They're here to embrace the community and be more than a bookstore. A very large selection of books and very knowable staff to help you find what you're looking for. If you're looking for a safe place to rent for an event place talk to them it's a great space to rent after hours for a fundraiser or birthday party even.

Yelp
My daughter loves going here and looking at all the books and items. Picking out a book then enjoying a snack while she reads her new novel.

Yelp
Our high school held our 10 year reunion here and it was super cute. We had three baristas working in case we wanted more drinks. I did have come time to check out the books they had, a lot seemed interested. They seemed to a large collection of fictional books if anyone's looking to find a new one. They also had a shelf for staff recommendations, which I thought was pretty cute. They also have an area for karaoke, which I didn't realize. But that's pretty cool. If you check in here, you get a cute A Seat at the Table Books sticker too. The other stickers they had for sale were really cute but I had too much stickers at the moment and forced myself to be a bit more responsible. Thank you for hosting our event!

Yelp
I finally had the chance to visit A Seat at the Table Books while in Elk Grove, and I absolutely fell in love with this place! They have a great mix of new and donated books. I also loved their selection of souvenirs and gift items (e.g. from tote bags and bookmarks to mugs and other cute finds). One of my favorite parts of the store is the café area. I ordered an iced honey vanilla latte with oat milk, and it was delicious. Huge shoutout to Sophia, the barista, for the recommendation and making it just right! From the calendar that was on the table, they offer a wealth of events for all ages and interests, which was really cool to see. There are several tables where you can work, read, or just relax, but I recommend getting there earlier in the day if you want a seat;it gets pretty busy by the afternoon. The entire staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made the experience even better. I can't wait to come back and spend more time here. A true gem in Elk Grove!

Yelp
I love this place. Monthly unique drinks, wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff, and fun events all the time. Im here at least once a week. They are so incredibly amazing and kind.

Yelp
If you're looking to support a local queer friendly bookstore cafe, u found the right place :) I always love visiting when I get the chance. They also host cool events like a Chappell Roan drag show, which was phenomenal!! Staff are always so welcoming and friendly!

Yelp
I would start by saying the workers were so nice. I ordered a butterscotch latte and it was delicious! Keep in mind the coffee is strong. I also got the book "Abolition. Feminism. Now."By Angela Davis for almost $20 ($18.50) which is more expensive when compared to other bookstores and outside retailers. Please keep that in mind. It has the cutest inside and decorations ever! but it's very cramped so if you use a walker or a wheelchair good luck. They have small array of sustainable materials along with small trinkets like lip balms, coin purses, blind boxes and more

Yelp
Books and cafes are the best combination I came here to check it out since the cafe popped up on 2G2G - to be honest I wasn't too impressed with that offering, since I was given an iced coffee and slice of (I think) banana bread. But that's the way it goes with 2G2G, you never know what you're going to get, and if you happen to be looking for a quick afternoon snack/pick-me-up, it's not a bad selection. When ordering from any drink place, this is the risk you take (thinking of all the meh boba drinks I've received ). If possible I try to order something extra from the 2G2G participants to show my appreciation for their participation, and to support small businesses that I like Besides, half the point is to discover new places that I might otherwise not go. I'm not a coffee person, but I had the idea of asking if the iced coffee could be doctored with extra to make it into something I would drink (for an extra charge, of course) instead of wasting it - the barista suggested pumps of chocolate and milk, and I had her do that and ordered 3 beignets drizzled with dark chocolate as well. The beignets were delicious and the doctored coffee turned out perfectly, so thanks to Sophia for the suggestion. The cafe had quite a few people at the tables, most on laptops. The music was unobtrusive and they appear to have a good selection of curated books and gift-type items. It's pretty obvious there's a focus on inclusivity if that's something you're looking for specifically. I'll be honest here and say most gifts I looked at were a little out of my personal price range, but within the realm of normal these days. Similarly, I thought the drinks and pastries were somewhat on the high side (for example, $5.99 for the loaf slice), but the menu items like breakfast sandwiches ($8.49) were more normal. Anyway, 5 stars because the ambiance was pleasant and the space is nicely laid out. I enjoyed my friendly interaction with Sophia, who was helpful with suggestions and very communicative.

Yelp
I've been coming to A Seat at The Table for awhile now. They are a bookstore and coffee shop. The last time Elk Grove had one, it was a Borders that closed down. I mostly come for their delicious coffee. They have an extensive syrup list which means you can customize however you like. They also have some in house eats, pastries and they now offer Grateful Bread goodies. Their current coffee on rotation is Anchor & Tree Coffee. I know previously they had Temple Coffee on rotation. And if you know those business, it means they're all local to the Sacramento area. There are also tables to sit, eat & mingle. Have meetings if needed. They are also safe space for anyone and everyone. In the other half of the cafe is their bookstore. I was in the market to pick up a financial book by an author I follow on social media. They didn't have it, however, they were able to place an order of the book for me. I got a text later in the following week or so stating the book was ready for pickup. Fast!! So, if you're looking for a book and they don't have it in stock, be sure to ask. Who knows, they may just order it for you! Looking for a gift for that book lover in your life? Head on over to ASATT. ASATT holds a special place in my heart because I love books and great coffee. Two things we don't have enough of in Elk Grove.

Yelp
4.5 stars Got there around 8:30am on a weekday and there were just a few people. The place looked homey, welcoming, had enough tables for differing sized groups like 2 ppl to 6 or so. But it also had a super cute area for kids, a little playhouse RV with pillows and make believe toys that kids can go in and hang out, and comfy couches that would be great for parent & kid playdates. I didn't venture in the book area but it appeared like a few bookshelves worth of good reads. I looked online and there's a cute Book & Coffee bean monthly subscriptions, I suggest checking it out to see what else they offer. Food and drink wise, I was aiming for something low carb. I didn't see anything like a salad or low carb bread or alternative breads like Ezekiel or Sourdough, so I just ordered a side of boiled egg, cucumber, and guacamole. Everything was cut fresh & tasted good but the guacamole was a lil sour. Maybe it tasted better with chips though. They did have other food that would be appealing to the healthier taste buds like avocado toast, smoothies, and food for kids and relaxed tastebuds like pizza, sweets like butter and chocolate croissants, macarons, sweet bread, and vanilla ice cream. Their drinks were the normal fare you see everywhere with a few holiday minty mocha holiday drinks. They also had the mushroom coffee, and one with turmeric and I loved that they have a non dairy option such as oat milk. My friend said her drink needed a bit of sweetener but when I got my food I seen a little section where we could access honey as well as hot sauce, salt, pepper, etc. I liked that there's plenty of parking, that there was a options for groups occasions (there was a reserved table for a book club), and I seen many different people came in and out to hang out. I can totally see more drink hang out dates with Hubby and I, sister dates here to hang out and talk. If I were a Mom with small kids I could totally see this for them too. Great local Elk Grove gem, highly suggest for parent and kid playdates, coffee/tea dates for couples and friends and for lunch. Probably the most stand out thing for me personally was that me & my Sis were there talking for like 4 hours and not one snide remark was made about us taking up the table too long. Great job and thank you!

Yelp
Such a cool Little bookstore. Love it so much. Came here for a coffee hour; met great People. So many fun books and items to look at. Great little cafe. Met the owner and she is super helpful, funny and supportive of all !! Employees are nice and helpful; cute little playroom for the kiddos. Even a quiet room for sensory needs. I will be coming back. They also have open mic nights, lots of other events here. Thank you for a nice little bookstore that is open and accepting of all.

Yelp
This bookstore is a pillar in the community. Great selection, plus great food and awesome events!

Yelp
Pretty cool bookshop and cafe. Has midtown boutique-ness but in a large retail space that EG can offer. I dig it. I got an iced mocha and the barista added too much milk for my liking. Very Starbucks-esque. The yogurt parfait hit the spot. I liked the crispy-airy granola used. Strange decision to have a layer of honey at the bottom of the cup though; it was hard to mix the honey into the yogurt considering that the cup was fully filled lol. Spacious and has a good amount of natural lighting. Great to take kiddos here as well as there's a play area corner. Ample lot parking. Overall a nice place to chill and as an Elk Grovian I welcome more places like this one in the area!

Yelp
A Seat at the Table Books is Elk Grove's only independent bookstore with a goal of offering a wide variety of reading material focused on messages of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility to ensure that all readers can feel seen in the books they read. They regularly host events and aim to provide a safe space for all community members. Located in the Laguna Pointe complex (which offers avid book readers ample parking - always a bonus in my book), this bookstore also comes complete with a small cafe so book lovers can come in and enjoy a beverage and a snack while perusing the shelves. I arrived in the morning, deciding to drop in before work. Wanting a bite to eat while I browsed their shelves for some new reads, I also ordered a breakfast sandwich on a toasted bagel (they had other bread options as well including sourdough and croissant). Their breakfast sandwich comes with a sausage patty, egg, and cheese (choice of cheddar or pepper jack - I went with cheddar), on a bread of your choice (I went with the toasted bagel as mentioned above). The sandwich was freshly prepared and came out perfectly warm and toasted. Although simple, it was a delicious way to start off my day. Now onto the books. Although A Seat at the Table Books is not the largest bookstore I've seen, they definitely pack a wide variety of literature into their shelves. The books are neatly separated by age group (children vs. young adult vs. adult) and genre (fiction, history, romance, you name it). There's certainly something for everyone with books capturing Asian, Latin American, African American, or LGBTQ+ voices (just to name a few), truly fulfilling their mission to provide diverse literature to bookstore patrons. Staff favorites are marked with a little sticker complete with the name of the staff member recommending the books, and they even have a little section for those seeking a "Blind Date with a Book". I walked away with my little haul consisting of four books, including some titles from Asian authors that I haven't heard of previously. With the unique selection of titles A Seat at the Table books offers readers, I can safely say I'll be back in the future! If you're like me and looking to support a local community bookstore that has a great cafe with delicious drinks and snacks, A Seat at the Table Books is definitely the place for you!

So grateful we have a bookstore in Elk Grove. It is such a cool location, perfect for working, and connecting with friends.

Yelp
There are not enough reviews of this great place! So I came here twice in one day! At opening I came with my mother, god-mother and we got drinks, Chai w/almond, Toffee Chocolate hazelnut black tea, and a hot chocolate. We ordered a cinnamon roll to go for my aunt who didn't go with us and a grilled cheese with pepper jack. My mom loved her chai and my god mother enjoyed her hot chocolate 5 stars from both of them. The toffee chocolate hazelnut black tea was not as good as it smelled or sounded. I did not like it at all my mom said it was good to her but I had to exchange it. So I got their white mocha instead and I loved that. The grilled cheese was delicious I like my bread a little less toasted but I was sharing it with my mom and it was perfect for her palate. I didn't get a chance to taste the cinnamon roll but it looked delicious. And of course a BIG note is this is also a book store! So of course grabbed books to read a little before we had our event start which is why we were in the area. So when my husband came to pick me up I told him we needed to stop by with the kids. I ordered a chai this time my husband got their cappuccino and the kids got apple juice and parfaits. The kids are already hooked on this place. My son found puzzles in the kids area and my daughter picked out a book to take home and started reading it. My husband liked his cappuccino and he's a picky coffee drinker. My daughter devoured the parfait while my son did not like the flavor of the honey (we go to a lot of farmers markets and he's picky about honey flavor). But they both asked to come back my mom mentioned making this a weekly trip with the kids and the kids jumped with excitement. Now the biggest green flag for this place is in the name "A seat at the table" it's an all inclusive location where everyone feels welcome. I love the vibe took plenty of pictures but definitely come check it out if you are in the area!

Kemunto G.

Yelp
I live in the Bay Area, but I always stop by here when I'm headed to Sacramento. My kids love it so much it's hard to get them to leave! The staff is super welcoming--I felt my usual anxiety about being in public with kids melt away almost immediately. My partner got an Americano he really enjoyed, and I had a hot matcha latte that was amazing. I love that they use brown sugar instead of syrup, and the matcha was perfectly balanced--not overdone like Starbucks. I also picked up part of my book order, and they're shipping the rest to me--so accommodating. I really wish we had a bookstore/coffee shop like this in my area. It's such a gem!

Lauren E.

Yelp
I truly love ASATB! Every time I walk in, I love seeing the new layouts and recommendations. My favorite part is the descriptors that some staff have left about a book. I always feel welcomed and can tell this is a space for everyone. The stickers are also bomb and make me laugh. Grateful for this space!
google avatar

Vee M.

Yelp
Took my son here for a coffee and chocolate milk date. The staff were so friendly and the inside was very inviting. Great book selection too! We sat in the kids area, read books and had breakfast. It was such a good time, we'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Such a cute spot to enjoy some tea or coffee read a book buy a book do some work or attend events. Didn't know this little gem was here! So glad we found it. Mini Barnes and Noble. Friendly staff. Welcoming environment. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Great little local shop. I've been here many times and it's a great place to grab a drink and read on an off day. I do wish they had more adult book options but I'm super grateful they're around. Staff is always so friendly, makes great coffee, and have always been fantastic with my little niece when I bring her in with me. Really special little place.

Yelp
Can I just say this local book store find is one of my fave hidden gems in Elk Grove? Not only do they do an awesome job focusing on books that are inclusive and build community spirit, but they rock the coffee scene and have Grateful Bread pastries to boot! I was so happy to discover them from a local Yelp Elite event...and have been back several times! Just picked up some holiday gifts and tasted their incredible beignets for a snack with my cold brew coffee. One of the best local businesses in Elk Grove!

Yelp
I was looking for a place to come get work done and stumbled across this place! They serve food and drinks and offer a cute little library section with a decent amount of great books. The staff were very friendly and the vibes here are more than welcoming! There are a decent amount of chairs and tables to sit and work at. The only thing I did not like was that the table chairs they have are not that comfortable and there are not a lot of places to charge your laptop / tablets. I suggest you have your electronics fully charged before coming just in case! They have pretty strong and stable WiFi which was perfect for getting my work done. The music playing in the background was not too loud and was the kind of music that you could study to. Overall, I think I found a great new spot to come to study and get some work done and will definitely come back again!
google avatar

Jessicuh T.

Yelp
If I could rate this place 6 stars, I would! Shea gave me awesome book recommendations and ordered me some books they didn't have in the store at the time. And this place gets more bonus points because I was able to grab a bite to eat and some coffee too!
google avatar

Kiyomi W.

Yelp
Super cute here and love the vibes! It's a super inclusive space for all and they have a kids corner and neurodivergent quiet room which was so cool to see! A great spot to study at and grab coffee. They have yummy seasonal drinks! They have lots of books and a great sale selection.

Yelp
There are so many ways to make books and coffee an extremely cozy environment. None of such were implemented at the place! It looks like school library or store room! Tragic!

Yelp
Went today to visit this amazing Elk Grove treasure and grab a lovely and delicious lemonade - it was so much more than I thought. And, I was astounded at the prices being so affordable - of course I walked out with a handful of stickers, 2 books and a lemonade. Got to interact with the owner, meet the crew, and support a local business!

Yelp
A cute bookshop with the coffee aroma and friendly atmosphere. Books galore but if you can't find it, always a great alternative to buy and ship to here. Always felt welcomed and always a great place to hang out.

Yelp
Great bookstore. First time here, wasn't sure what to expect but pleasantly surprised by the book selection, toys, play area, etc. Lots of books for different groups of people, cute coffee shop w some pastries. Had a lot of people there today (Saturday), glad to see that local small bookstore doing well! Would go often if I lived closer.

Yelp
Such a cute bookstore/ cafe! When we went today they had a few local vendors showcasing/ selling their arts & crafts. First time there so not sure if this is a daily thing. Cafe had a good selection of drinks and some baked goods. The book selection is great. Lots of different cultural books for children and adults and a lot of LGBTQ books. Also lots of cute merchandise such as cute/ clever socks, adorable stickers, toys and puzzles for kids, etc. They're also applying for a liquor license! I wonder what they'll serve!

Yelp
Love this little gem of a bookstore. My daughter had actually introduced me to it, and it's just a perfect combination of books and treats.

Yelp
Wow! Wonderful combo coffee shop and bookstore. Love the vibe here; it makes me feel very comfortable and the coffee is great too. They also have a local authors sexton which is cool. And the staff is very friendly and helpful and I'll definitely be coming back.

Yelp
I was really excited to visit this bookstore but I wasn't wowed by the selection. So for a bookstore there actually weren't many...books. There were so few books on the shelves that on many shelves they were laid out with their cover facing instead of the spine. Also no one greeted me or offered to help and I was in there for nearly 30 minutes. I really wanted to support the bookstore but I had trouble finding a book to buy that I both wanted and didn't already own. Partly this was because there were far more books about queer men than women. There was also a lot of YA. They do offer new and used books. The other customers were all in their teens and early 20s and I think this is probably a fantastic space for young people. The space is large and airy and they have a full menu and plenty of space for a community event. The books just felt secondary to the cafe and community space.

Yelp
I love the curated selection of books, toys, and gifts in this family-friendly bookshop/cafe. It's a welcoming place to visit and frequently hosts local creators as well as a variety of events. Shop Small, Shop Local!

Yelp
This spot is a gem! It is a mix of a bookstore and a solid cafe with food and drink options (coffee and tea). I got their crossaint sausage egg and cheese sandwich with pepper jack with a tea, the sandwich was basic but good and the tea was strong just how I like it, my girlfriend really enjoyed the books and we both love how community based they are

Yelp
Have a seat at the table and enjoy some good books and and coffee! I love the name of this place. Very welcoming and a place where you feel safe and part of something. I stumbled upon this place on Saturday when I was looking for a place to read and do some writing. When you walk in from the parking lot, you don't expect much from the location as its next to the five guys. Soon as you walk in you are welcomed by the amazingly delightful staff. Their cafe section has a variety of coffee drinks, snacks from Khelani cakes (Local Elk Grove Bakery), and foods. I tried their September Special (right as September ended haha). Overall, very good coffee, and great staff there. The seating is spaced out and open. I love the ambiance. Something I would like to see improvement on is the seats... A little tough on toushy.... but tables are great height, just chairs are a little tough. Sustainable chairs overall, just tough. Maybe I need to work on my gluteus muscles... but besides the point, still good! Their book selection is very unique and inclusive. I was perusing the book section and I saw a variety of books ranging from adult fiction to kids books. Great selection of books to check out, and try. Moving on to the play area for kids. The cool thing about the little book cafe is they have a section for the kids to play and enjoy themselves. It does add to the decibels as you sit and try to write, but Saturday's are pretty quiet. I do love they have a sensory break room or a quiet room! This is such a great addition. I am so glad they have such a space for individuals! Overall, a marvelous place to just hang out on a Saturday morning. I absolutely loved that this location opened up Elk Grove. It is a great addition for book worm like myself! Thank you for allowing us to have a "Seat at the table" ! Steve
